Good to see a review that is reviewing actually using it for a long time rather than just a few days. Definitely going to be a monitor I will invest in very soon.

I see you uploaded this video 5 months ago. I just caught it. Great overview of your experience. Thank you for it. I just order the G9 Neo a couple days ago and the same arm you have so I can move the monitor closer to the edge of my desk for my sim rig.
I can’t imagine not having this monitor. I turn off the dimming zones and calibrate HDR using the windows app (downloaded from windows store). Also running a 3090 with an i9 10900k and 32GB of ram.
I was looking between all the G9 series and after seeing this i cant justify £600+ extra when this looks so good. The oled could burn in when i use it for productivity and the neo is so much more expensive for better brightness and black levels. Cheers for the video it has helped a lot 👍🏻
Thank you so much for this awesome review - just the part about using 2 DP cables thus turning it into 2 monitors alone is amazing. ( I am a slow learner) but also the monitor arm recommendation as well is great - Thank You so much.
I've had mine a year now, it is still excellent and so I have just bought a 2nd one to separate flight/drive sim setups from normal desktop. I can't imagine flight (MSFS, DCS) without it, superb for the trucking view too. Main issue with 2nd 49in screen is explaining why to my wife.
I have the same monitor for the same time/period. O still love it so much. O have found the best windows settings with 240hz and 10 bit 4.2.2. With 4.4.4 I have experienced some glitches even with the latest firmware. But in that settings it is amazing. The contrast is very nice, coming from an IPS display. I wonder if the NEO version worth the upgrade as well. I hope Samsung will create an OLED version next year.
am using it for over a year now and i cant go back to 30 inch xd playing world of warcraft and league of legends even played some fortnite and am loving this monitor!
Love mine. Those arm mounts are a game changer. Well worth the expense just so I can move the giant out the way if I'm doing paperwork or something. Great review. Earned a sub.
Thank you for posting 📫 this video. A great 👍 review on the monitor. Plus I took a quick look. At your other video 📹. You sir have a new subscriber. Keep up the great work 👍..
I've been debating and procrastinating whether to get this one or the LS49A950UIEXXY model and while i was leaning towards this G9 due to its more aggressive curve, I've been going back and forth for a few weeks now, but I think your review here has finally tipped me over the edge towards this G9...plus the fact that i can get it brand new for AUD$1500, so I guess it is kinda a no brainer. I just love the 1000R curve over the 18000R. Couple of things that kinda annoy me with it though is the lack of USB-C/Thunderbolt 3, but I can live with that. The more annoying thing for me personally is the lack of built-in speakers, so I'll have to get some speakers as well and have those sit on my desk which is what I was trying to avoid. Will also have to upgrade my laptop now to get the most out of the monitor as I'm pretty certain my 5 year old HP Envy will struggle. And totally agree, the Neo model is not worth the extra money in my opinion, perhaps not for games, but mostly for work and general use and some small amount of gaming only. Thanks for this update, keep up the good work, subscribed now.
Another quality video from the angry prawn. I've had this montior for around the same length of time and it's served me well I really haven't got anything negative to say about it. Keep this high quality content coming please!
Nice review. I just ordered one yesterday. Can't wait. Currently there is a 10% discount on the official samsung website until Jan 8th. So I have to pay 926€ which is a good price for this top monitor. I hope it comes with no issues like cracking or faulty pixels...
Ive had my g9 for 2 years as well. Currently using a RTX 4090 and i mainly play FPS Games. I have looked into ther models but nothing seems to make sense for the money. Even the Ark 4k monitor doesnt seem to be worth it due to headaches. The HDR is wack, but i never turned it on. On most games i max out the 240hz panel and it is a buttery smooth experience that i dont see being beaten until the 8k equivalent/successor to this monitor comes out. I have had 0 issues with mine as far as QC goes. Its been great! I started with a r9 5900x/3080 then the 3080ti now the r7 7800x3d and a 4090.
From my recent experience with a Neo G9, from the G9 to the Neo variant, I gotta say the HDR finally got great. Maybe not quite OLED level but it's likely the best non-OLED HDR, brightness and contrast!
I bought one after seeing your review on this video. Got it yesterday and in less than 24 hrs it had a stuck pixel(colour red) going to be exchanging but hope it's not going to be an issue with the other one I get. I read on Reddit it's been quite common with dead pixels and stuck pixels...I really like it but mam seeing that red pixel in less than 24hrs for the price I paid was heart wrenching :/ I'll keep you all posted on my exchange and new one coming this week hopefully.
Interesting up date I relegated mine to a production monitor for work only - I had too many things I had to consistently fuss with to get a clean gaming experience, and I see one of them in your video, but it's all about what works right for you. Issues that got me a) games that dont probably support 32:9 - you can see it in your Outer Worlds footage, your FoV is like 40 degrees, it's so zoomed in b)Issues with 240hz + Aspect Control issues, I would always have to drop to 120hz to be able to control the aspet ratio and not have to play a 16:9 or 4:3 in a tiny box or mega stretched c)poor HDR d)Heat - get its hot, it expands, the plastic creeks, then it creeks at night as it cools e)DLSS - More of a nvidia issue, but running DLSS I don't think they design it for things running at "non standard" resolutions, I found the scaling to be weird and sub par compared to DLSS at 4k or other 16:9 resolutions f)Mounting costs - if you want a decent mount for it, you have to buy a very specific one to properly mount it and hold the weight and its centre of gravity. my LG is wall mounted on a £30 wallmount, my G9 on a £250 mount. I moved to a 55" LG OLED for my monitor, it costs less and has none of the above issues, personally I enjoy the OLED at a standard ratio far more, which is a shame as for many years I was a Acer Predator x34 owner and loved it
You make interesting points. Thanks for sharing. The HDR has been a non issue for me because I've simply not used it or not been playing games that run it anyway. I don't have any issues with the heat or popping, though TBF i am not sleeping in the room it's in when it's off. And I've seen DLSS problems, though I tend to avoid it as it generally ruins the visuals in favour of performance anyway.
@@TheProvokedPrawn DLSS is kinda bang on the head of the nail there - I was having terrible DLSS performance on it (in terms of looks) - yet you run DLSS on a 4k screen and it looks much better - to the point I run it where I can as I'd rather have my GPU running at 80% instead of 100 :) but yeah, unusable on the G9 - I think because of the way it works and is prebaked in to the cores on the GPU that non -standard resolutions are barely given any attention. Unfortunately I don't sleep in the same room as mine, its loud enough that you can hear it through the house. Anyways, cheers for the reply!
@@TheProvokedPrawn Yup, I think its the only thing keeping it back from being the best ever is just the massive differences in each one in terms of build quality etc. But hey, its still a bloody great monitor and the more people that enjoy it the better :) (its also bloody great as a productivity monitor )
Had this for almost as long as its been out and about a year ago I got an amazon arm for it (WALI Single Monitor Gas Spring Desk Mount) think it was like $80 on sale and it works without issue. Great review tho, definitely an awesome monitor all around.
I've had mine for 6 months, and just noticed a scratch on each side of the monitor... Sadly warranty doesn't cover it, and I'm currently having to wait for a price estimate for a technician... Feels terrible considering the price.
I've been running 21:9 for a couple years now and while its obviously not as wide, Ive gotten the same neck ache comments. Never experienced it. Where I did experience that was when I used a vizio tv as my monitor that was like 38" You get neck ache from looking up and down, side to side is still a mostly neutral position for your spine. Only thing I wish to see is more developers giving us the ability to move ui elements on the screen. Either independently or via a slider, so I can bring things closer to the center.
Ooooo what was that WW2 aerial combat game I saw in the first few clips?! I'm super into those types of games and would LOVE to know the title of that one! Looks awesome 😁
Great video I have the same monitor & ergotron monitor arm, for the update to the monitor I keep a usb cable extension lead permanently plugged into the back of my monitor & secured on top of my desk ready for updates 👍
Very thankful for this video here, am seriously debating just selling one of them and picking up this monitor as something I can sit with for a good while. I was originally thinking about picking up the CRG9 but since this is on sale where I plan to buy it at the moment, I might as well go all in and spend the extra for some more refresh rate headroom and the nice curve. I do only have a 1660s card and some of the concerns Ive heard about it are quite disappointing given the large price tag but I do think I could find some work around for most of them to have an enjoyable experience.
Probably can lower settings in games but ur really gonna struggle, u can buy the monitor anyway anyway as its pretty future proof and as time goes on upgrade ur pc and eventually ull hit the settings u want for it
I agree, the Samsung Odyssey is amazing. I got the neo version which i got on a deal. one problem I did have was the netflix playout for which I had to disable the hardware acceleration to fix the issue. After a long evaluation I did decide to buy the ergotron, and it's amazing how much desk real estate you get, plus the positioning can be customized to your preference (only wish it was cheaper). I would love you to provide what games run in 32:9 exclusive. Additionally I have the G915 keyboard, however I have been having a lot of confusion with the application. I can never get it to work with my G560 speakers and games.
I own the neo g9 its amazing worked with a 3090 ti. still never able to achieve ultra settings at 240hz however, id be lucky to get past 120 in most AAA games. seems like the monitor was def ahead of its time. no doubt the rtx 4090 should be able to tame this beast! (especially since it will be optimised to perform at the newest DP 2.0 80gb bandwidth while a 3090 is only really optimised for the 4k 120hz 48gb bandwidth)
I own a triple Samsung Odysee G7 32inch, The whole 240hz has been a mind opener from me coming originally from 60hz monitos, before i used to be a sucker for graphics, everything max, FPS be damned. But now that i have experienced the smoothness of 240fps/240hz, its hard to go back to 60 fps, as its 4x as slow. 60 fps feels like the NEW 15fps for me on 60hz monitors, hahaha. Nowadays i play almost all my games on the lowest graphic settings possible. i have most succes with this with 7+ year old games. Ignorance is Blissful..... sometimes i wish i could go back to my ignorant days on my 4k 60hz monitor. but i don't think i could ever go back to an 60hz monitor again.
I love comming back to your videos every so often 😄You've definitely helped me make purchase decisions! Did you ever get the infamous scanline issue with your G9? I've been plagued since I brought mine over a year ago. I never returned it because I love this monitor and all I read online was people's replacements also had the issue anyway, but at the time there was nothing else like it. So, I kept mine and dealt with the scanlines. I still find it annoying though, it's mostly triggered by dark sections of things like Reddit in darkmode alongside Discord and Twitch, also both in dark mode. There have been so many suggested ways to fix it, but none of them ever worked to completely resolve the issue for me 😭 I can only hope that I can afford either the more recent OLED version or the new NEO dual 4k version. I want OLED, but I'm scared of burn-in and only having a 3080 Ti, it's not going to handle that dual 4k one. It's not like I have the money now though, so but I'm hoping I can sell this one on to recoupe some of the cost 🤔 I do use mine a bit differently though, so I can understand why you may have never run into the issue. I tend to run mine full res without the PBP mode, since my day job is writing code, I like the nice wider section in the middle for code and then have tools left and right of it, so PBP would mean I can't have my code in the middle 😄 But I tend to run this way all the time other than when playing games full screen, that's pretty much the only exception. I will note, I've never had the scanline issue in games. Just general darkmode browsing when there's a few lighter elements on the screen it seems 🤔
I've not had that problem I'm afraid. Very annoying I'm sure. Have you updated the firmware? Assume you have. I was not impressed by the NEO G9 but the newer models do look great as you've said!
Hi, thank you for this review. I am considering to buy this monitor for productivity and occasional gaming. I am wondering how did you manage to have picture by picture using a single computer ?
He states in his first impression video he plugs two display port cables from monitor to PC and then activates by using PBP mode on the screen it's self
That swing arm is just insanely expensive, for a swingarm, and it’s still deskmounted. I’m preparing for a triple 32 in monitors, gonna need the hulk version of monitor arm
I just picked up my second white G9. I didn't get the NEO as the 1440p (effective super ultrawide 2k) is perfect for me and works with my dell business 2K monitors. currently running an RTX 4090 so I have no issue with this setup. The second G9 is for another build I'm setting up in another home. :)
This Picture by Picture Mode is neat, did not think about this scenario. But it would bug me that the main view is not in the middle of the monitor. Interersting nonetheless
I bought a CHG90 as my first 32:9, which is 3840x1080p 144Hz. Though just a few weeks later. The CRG90 was announced, which is 5120x1440p 120Hz. I initially regretted the CHG because the PPI on it was abysmal. But I got use to it and fell in love with the aspect ratio. I was going to buy the 2022 Neo G9, but held off because there was a few rumors that an OLED version was on the way. Sure enough, the OLED G9 was announced. Which is what I run now. Same spec as the non OLED (5120x1440p 240Hz). Just not the extreme 1000r curve. It's the less extreme 1800r curve like the CHG/CRG. Which I like better personally. And of course OLED. So the insane colors, contrast, response time. Take a hit to brightness, but the G9 OLED gets plenty bright for me despite being only Display HDR400 rated. I'll never go back to 16:9. 32:9 is amazing. I also get asked all the time if it's annoying to have to move my head. Many don't understand that you aren't sitting with your nose to the panel lol. Mine is roughly 24" from my eyes. I never have to move my head unless I don't want to move in game to center the screen on what was on the far edge. The only way I'll leave this panel is if it dies, or Samsung releases an OLED variant of the 57" Neo and it's gigantic 7680x2160p res. Just like I'll never leave 32:9. I'll never leave OLED now too lol. OLED>anything else
I currently have the original Samsung 32:9 49” chg90 (3840x1080p @ 144hz). Bought it open box a few yrs ago for under $500 total. Just noticed open box deals today with additional 20% off open prices so I snagged this G9 240hz version to replace the original. Buying it new would be $990 after tax and I just paid $672 total so again I will roll the dice with a 30 day return policy. I have a 5900x/6900xt/64gb system that is currently pushing 3840x1080p with ease. Back to 100% gpu usage with this new monitor is a little less then double the pixels at an even higher 240hz target for fps.
I am looking to buy this screen, what is your opinion on the gas arm and the monitor since making the video? Also are you using the heavy duty pivot mount for it or just the arm as it is? Thanks for a great video :)
Hey man sorry for this request any chance that you could share some benchmarks or maybe a review of gaming in picture by picture?. I have been planning on buying an ultra wide but I do play a lot of FPS(namely csgo2) and I do enjoy having two monitors. So how many fps more do you get on picture by picture? if there any difference when compared to using a single 24inch monitors ? Given the g9 is curved that that affect you when gaming on picture by picture?
@@TheProvokedPrawn it is digital combat simulation, it’s more a simulator than a game but with the best graphics I’ve ever seen in a game but it is not considered a game because of the realistic aspect of the game. You should at least try it because you will be hooked if you like a challenge!
thank you for the info and great vid! Am looking into the new G9 oled but noticed its only 1800r instead of the 1000r on this one. I feel like i would miss alot of immersion going for the new one. Any thoughts?
Need help! In your video you played with the full screen (32:9) and the image looked very good! What settings do you have on your monitor so that the image doesn't look so stretched out? For PS5
The online bad thing is that it sucks to play fps games that is multiplayer. I have had this monitor for over a year but everytime im playing warzone or csgo, i go back to my old small monitor.
One bad thing you mention is that pip/pbp can only run in 120hz and not in 240hz which is a deal breaker for me. However, one could use split screen software and have the 240hz the same time so I might buy this one because of that. Or wait in the future for a new similar monitor that work with 240 hz and pip/pbp.
deal breaker? LMFAO that's normal and will pretty much never change due to how the monitors are made, I have a 120hz one and it goes to 60hz in PBP. I would give anything for that 120hz in PBP lol
thanks for the video, how do i connect the monitor to the PC to where i can hook up my headphones from the monitor. there is a sound option on the monitor that i think is completely useless, especially after noticing there is no speakers. Overall, i love the monitor and have no issues but i am thinking about upgrading to that monster that came out this year at the end of the year.
3:38 isn't that because of the 1000R curve which I heard is somewhat the same as the curve of our eyeballs which to me would make perfect sense with how the sides of the monitor would be a gamers periferal vision, I just ordered the g9 from Samsung and I can't wait for it to come

I just got this beast. God it's beautiful. Was surprisingly heavier then I expected
If Samsung comes out with Odyssey QD-OLED models I think that will be end game.
Samsung Ark is coming.
It’s here
I just recently bought the Odyssey G4 that isnt ultrawide but still fantastic, ive always stuck to 60hz but upping it is such a game changer lol
Ha ha
I have the same monitor for the same time/period. O still love it so much. O have found the best windows settings with 240hz and 10 bit 4.2.2. With 4.4.4 I have experienced some glitches even with the latest firmware. But in that settings it is amazing. The contrast is very nice, coming from an IPS display. I wonder if the NEO version worth the upgrade as well. I hope Samsung will create an OLED version next year.
Thanks for sharing
Why wouldn't you just use RGB? no reason to use 4.2.2 or 4.4.4 at all
I already bought it, and your video gave me relief
👍🏼 glad to help! Enjoy
am using it for over a year now and i cant go back to 30 inch xd playing world of warcraft and league of legends even played some fortnite and am loving this monitor!
Love mine. Those arm mounts are a game changer. Well worth the expense just so I can move the giant out the way if I'm doing paperwork or something. Great review. Earned a sub.
Thanks Michael
Had my G9 for 3 years and loved it just upgraded to the OLED G9 the curve isnt as good on this one but OLED is an amazing upgrade
Hope you enjoy!
I bougt this one Samsung-27-odyssey-g7-va-qled-qhd-1000r-240-hz, they have 32 inch to.
Another quality video from the angry prawn. I've had this montior for around the same length of time and it's served me well I really haven't got anything negative to say about it. Keep this high quality content coming please!
Thank you, thank you. Glad you concur!
Nice review. I just ordered one yesterday. Can't wait.
Currently there is a 10% discount on the official samsung website until Jan 8th. So I have to pay 926€ which is a good price for this top monitor. I hope it comes with no issues like cracking or faulty pixels...
I just got one today can’t wait to get it set up.
Enjoy!
Thanks for sharing!
From my recent experience with a Neo G9, from the G9 to the Neo variant, I gotta say the HDR finally got great. Maybe not quite OLED level but it's likely the best non-OLED HDR, brightness and contrast!
What were the frames you got with the 3080 for the FPS games ?
I’m not sure this will ever replace my triples for work or gaming but it is a step in the right direction
I bought one after seeing your review on this video. Got it yesterday and in less than 24 hrs it had a stuck pixel(colour red) going to be exchanging but hope it's not going to be an issue with the other one I get. I read on Reddit it's been quite common with dead pixels and stuck pixels...I really like it but mam seeing that red pixel in less than 24hrs for the price I paid was heart wrenching :/ I'll keep you all posted on my exchange and new one coming this week hopefully.
sorry to hear it :( Hope you get it sorted.
I have this exact monitor and I absolutely love it.
It's great isn't it
Interesting up date
I relegated mine to a production monitor for work only - I had too many things I had to consistently fuss with to get a clean gaming experience, and I see one of them in your video, but it's all about what works right for you.
Issues that got me
a) games that dont probably support 32:9 - you can see it in your Outer Worlds footage, your FoV is like 40 degrees, it's so zoomed in
b)Issues with 240hz + Aspect Control issues, I would always have to drop to 120hz to be able to control the aspet ratio and not have to play a 16:9 or 4:3 in a tiny box or mega stretched
c)poor HDR
d)Heat - get its hot, it expands, the plastic creeks, then it creeks at night as it cools
e)DLSS - More of a nvidia issue, but running DLSS I don't think they design it for things running at "non standard" resolutions, I found the scaling to be weird and sub par compared to DLSS at 4k or other 16:9 resolutions
f)Mounting costs - if you want a decent mount for it, you have to buy a very specific one to properly mount it and hold the weight and its centre of gravity. my LG is wall mounted on a £30 wallmount, my G9 on a £250 mount.
@@nuttyjawa that's intriguing. Amazing the differences in models and their issues. 😭
@@TheProvokedPrawn Yup, I think its the only thing keeping it back from being the best ever is just the massive differences in each one in terms of build quality etc. But hey, its still a bloody great monitor and the more people that enjoy it the better :) (its also bloody great as a productivity monitor )
I use it for 3ds Max & 3D stuff as well I recommend you to use "PowerToy" to split multiple windows it's a must for this monitor.
Still using the CRG9 and recently got the G9 during the Black Friday sale. It was $999!
Had this for almost as long as its been out and about a year ago I got an amazon arm for it (WALI Single Monitor Gas Spring Desk Mount) think it was like $80 on sale and it works without issue. Great review tho, definitely an awesome monitor all around.
Is that the one listed for 99. I’m researching arms and would like to check it out
I've had mine for 6 months, and just noticed a scratch on each side of the monitor... Sadly warranty doesn't cover it, and I'm currently having to wait for a price estimate for a technician... Feels terrible considering the price.
Fellow G9 owner here, I love this monitor and it has ruined 16:9 for me lol. I mainly play Destiny 2 and its absolutely bonkers on this monitor.
Living the dream.
I've been running 21:9 for a couple years now and while its obviously not as wide, Ive gotten the same neck ache comments. Never experienced it.
Where I did experience that was when I used a vizio tv as my monitor that was like 38"
You get neck ache from looking up and down, side to side is still a mostly neutral position for your spine.
I'm afraid it's just Call of Duty WW2 :)
Great video I have the same monitor & ergotron monitor arm, for the update to the monitor I keep a usb cable extension lead permanently plugged into the back of my monitor & secured on top of my desk ready for updates 👍
Thanks for sharing
Very thankful for this video here, am seriously debating just selling one of them and picking up this monitor as something I can sit with for a good while. I was originally thinking about picking up the CRG9 but since this is on sale where I plan to buy it at the moment, I might as well go all in and spend the extra for some more refresh rate headroom and the nice curve. I do only have a 1660s card and some of the concerns Ive heard about it are quite disappointing given the large price tag but I do think I could find some work around for most of them to have an enjoyable experience.
Probably can lower settings in games but ur really gonna struggle, u can buy the monitor anyway anyway as its pretty future proof and as time goes on upgrade ur pc and eventually ull hit the settings u want for it
Best buy for 900 right now
You should....once you use it YOU CANNOT GO BACK TO A REGULAR SCREEN ! it feels like you are in VR but without the headset. THE BEST 10/10
Literally just bought one no regrets
This size is the same as a SUW49DA2 so whatever is cheaper no real difference
This is on sale for $899 and I took the bite. thank you for the video.
Nice. Enjoy
I own the neo g9
its amazing worked with a 3090 ti. still never able to achieve ultra settings at 240hz however, id be lucky to get past 120 in most AAA games. seems like the monitor was def ahead of its time. no doubt the rtx 4090 should be able to tame this beast! (especially since it will be optimised to perform at the newest DP 2.0 80gb bandwidth while a 3090 is only really optimised for the 4k 120hz 48gb bandwidth)
I own a triple Samsung Odysee G7 32inch,
The whole 240hz has been a mind opener from me coming originally from 60hz monitos, before i used to be a sucker for graphics, everything max, FPS be damned.
@@skapunker1986 Odysee G7 is amazing
lmao well single player games aren’t meant for 240hz try apex, overwatch valorant csgo etc.
Thanks for the amazing review I have doubt this monitor has game Mode
I just got the oled g9 for a sweet deal looks incredible and I won’t be able to go back to led displays after experiencing that infinite contrast
Nice 👍
Listening to your voice with subwoofer would wake up my neighbors
Do it and then get them to subscribe as well.
Hey, great video. Could I put two PCs split screen? Would mouse and keyboard work (if you can)
Nice vid.. Where are the profile setting buttons for this monitor?
Interesting video and a very impressive monitor! I'd definitely like to try playing on one, or on a super wide monitor in general, in the future.
Could you make a video on your setup
It's not like I have the money now though, so but I'm hoping I can sell this one on to recoupe some of the cost 🤔
I do use mine a bit differently though, so I can understand why you may have never run into the issue.
Great video! How color accurate do you feel this monitor is? I use lightroom and photoshop often and am curious how often it may need calibrating.
That's for someone far wiser than me. I'd suggest looking at tftcentral.co.uk/ for reviews.
What Ansem said, you need two cables 👍
That swing arm is just insanely expensive, for a swingarm, and it’s still deskmounted. I’m preparing for a triple 32 in monitors, gonna need the hulk version of monitor arm
Yeah, but it's heavy duty to cope with the weight of the monitor. You can't really buy others that suit monitors this size.
Fancy
Great video and helpful. Thanks, man!
Glad you liked it. Hope you enjoyed enough to subscribe 🦐
Great video. Just to confirm; running this monitor in PBP mode with each input at 2560x1440 120hz via 2 DP cables off a GPU is no problem, right?
Correct
I need this for my Sim Racing Rig
How far do you sit from the monitor?
That 57 inch one is insane
That's a distant dream lol, some games struggle even with the 4090 in 4K. On that screen you'd be getting console FPS.
Back to 100% gpu usage with this new monitor is a little less then double the pixels at an even higher 240hz target for fps.
love my hcg90 which is 3840x1080 will never go back !!! 21:9 gamer as well back then
i think thats my next thing to get is a ultra wide i think that looks so clean
What a great review cheers.
Thank you!
Nice! Can I have a 21:9 zone in the middle if i want to? With black bars or little windows of other programs on both sides?
I am looking to buy this screen, what is your opinion on the gas arm and the monitor since making the video?
Also are you using the heavy duty pivot mount for it or just the arm as it is?
Thanks for a great video :)
The ergotron arm is great. It's sturdy, easy to move and solidly built. Would recommend
Which game is it at 1min plz ? Awesome video
Great video! Do you think it would work great for DCS?
I don't know what DCS is
@@TheProvokedPrawn it is digital combat simulation, it’s more a simulator than a game but with the best graphics I’ve ever seen in a game but it is not considered a game because of the realistic aspect of the game. You should at least try it because you will be hooked if you like a challenge!
thank you for the info and great vid! Am looking into the new G9 oled but noticed its only 1800r instead of the 1000r on this one. I feel like i would miss alot of immersion going for the new one. Any thoughts?
I've not tried it unfortunately but I am considering that upgrade myself
@@TheProvokedPrawn i think if you have a 1000r G9 the new one will be a downgrade instead of a upgrade
Hi great review but one quick question, can you run windows and ps5 simultaneously on the split screen option? Thanks
Probably but I don't have a ps5 to test so can't say 100 percent but I'm fairly certain
Need help! In your video you played with the full screen (32:9) and the image looked very good! What settings do you have on your monitor so that the image doesn't look so stretched out? For PS5
I'm afraid i don't know if you can do this on ps5 but you need the resolution set to 5120 X 1440
The online bad thing is that it sucks to play fps games that is multiplayer. I have had this monitor for over a year but everytime im playing warzone or csgo, i go back to my old small monitor.
Hi, I have the G9 with a 2080 super and definitely want to upgrade. Your setup looks really smooth. Are you able to share the gpu ypu are using?
Gigabyte RTX 3090 OC Vision
One bad thing you mention is that pip/pbp can only run in 120hz and not in 240hz which is a deal breaker for me. However, one could use split screen software and have the 240hz the same time so I might buy this one because of that. Or wait in the future for a new similar monitor that work with 240 hz and pip/pbp.
deal breaker? LMFAO that's normal and will pretty much never change due to how the monitors are made, I have a 120hz one and it goes to 60hz in PBP. I would give anything for that 120hz in PBP lol
What do you think about the 45GS96QB? Can you compare it with the g9?
Do you think it can handle my rtx 3090 for gaming? Should i wait in two years for a rtx 5090 maybe?
Yes
What do you use to clean the monitor? Have you ever had flickering issues?
I love mine and I just bought the ark be here Monday but I like your honest review and I have the 64gigs ram 3090 fe runs 👍
Are you going to use both?!
@The Provoked Prawn yes I'm gonna use my G9 for fooling around on stuff by my bed and the Ark as my gaming and everything else
got a question. Why not just use the game in window mode or the other half of the screen so you can maintain the refresh rate and not 120?
You deserve million's sub
Maybe one day
thanks for the video, how do i connect the monitor to the PC to where i can hook up my headphones from the monitor. there is a sound option on the monitor that i think is completely useless, especially after noticing there is no speakers. Overall, i love the monitor and have no issues but i am thinking about upgrading to that monster that came out this year at the end of the year.
Hey great video, one question, wich game where you playing in 00:54 , the one with the air combat. thank you
Call of Duty WW2
3:38 isn't that because of the 1000R curve which I heard is somewhat the same as the curve of our eyeballs which to me would make perfect sense with how the sides of the monitor would be a gamers periferal vision, I just ordered the g9 from Samsung and I can't wait for it to come
Slt , on peut jouer à Diablo 4 en full écran ? Super vidéo 💪
First 👍🏻, I love your setup
It's chaos. 🤣
@@TheProvokedPrawn but I still love it
Have you tried the 57” G9 yet? Do you think it provides a better immersion than the 49”? Thanks!
Sadly not. I'd like to though
