I literally hate your comments section so much. Everyone has been brainwashed by Tiktok weight loss advice & they’re constantly trying to prove you wrong. Your content is so great & so needed for people who ACTUALLY want to lose weight & not justify eating the same way & then blaming their weight on “genetics.”
I love how much people are missing the point. -lower calorie foods are better for people who struggle with over eating. -option 1 tastes better but I’d have 4 slices. Option 2 I probably wouldn’t finish. -how satiated do you need to be for a snack? When’s lunch/dinner?
No, healthy whole foods are better for people who over eat because they keep you satiated for longer… lower calorie processed foods are whatever if they’re 5% of your diet but if they make up a significant portion, cravings and over eating is still inevitable
- if I’m hungry an hour later, I’m even more tempted to overeat - I don’t waste food so I prefer to finish what I plate - I don’t snack, so this would be a meal
I get your point about the cravings coming later for the lower kcal meals...however one must consider the psychological angle also. Some ppl, me included, can mindlessly eat 800kcal in 5 mins because we eat too fast and by the time the meal is over we could eat upto 1500kcal. So a higher volume, bigger.portion, with lower kcals will take longer to finish and thus give time for the stomach to give the brain that message to stop eating. Drinking a lot of water is also key.
Great videos! Sometimes it's too easy to forget how many calories there can be in some foods. (Lookinh at you, peanut butter, nutellla, pork scratchings...)
Food portions literally are so overrated these days. Cico thats it. If you need a bigger portion , drinking more water can give you the same effect. But no one will get views telling you something simple like that 😊
How can you say food portions are overrated then immediately say cico. Where do you think the "calories in" part of that comes from? You don't think a person controlling there portion sized will help them control calories going in, and then they can actually get into that oh so important calorie defecit?
@@lunar1227 it’s pretty simple; prioritize whole foods since they will be significantly more satiating Carbs aren’t bad in general but it’s best to keep them in moderation with things like fruit, vegetables and natural honey or maple syrup (adjust them based on activity level)… swapping this out for say a Greek yogurt bowl with berries is healthier and will keep you satiated and if you want for satiating fats, eggs or an avocado is good on the side 2 large eggs with butter is between 180-200 calories while a serving of 2% fat Greek yogurt bowl with a handful of blueberries and raspberries is around 200-250 calories… 400-450 calories, around 30 grams of protein + healthy fats and carbs while also having significantly more micronutrients and antioxidants calcium, phosphorus, selenium, B12 from the yogurt… vitamin A, vitamin B2, vitamin B3, vitamin B5, vitamin B6, vitamin B7, vitamin B9, vitamin B12, vitamin D, selenium, zinc, choline, molybdenum, phosphorus and iron from the eggs, not counting the nutrients with less than 10% of DRV, blueberries are excellent anti oxidants and are a good source of manganese, vitamin K, vitamin C while raspberries or blackberries have their own excellent benefits with antioxidants and on top (raspberries have those same nutrients as blueberries in higher quantities but less antioxidants while blackberries are similar to raspberries while also being a great source of copper and having more antioxidants)… Also, if you live in an area where fresh berries are expensive (I only buy fresh berries on sale), you can get frozen berries with the same benefits for very cheap and they’ll last longer On top of that, plain 2% Greek yogurt is a great probiotic so it’ll help your gut… Sorry for rambling 😭
He isn’t talking about which is healthier bro it’s just which one is lower calorie and the argument isn’t lower calorie = healthier because if you were anorexic higher calorie is healthier. But this is clearly for someone who wants to loose weight and the only way to do that is be on calorie deficit simple. he just showed 1 possible alternative to a breakfast for more volume it’s ur choice 🤷♂️
He never claimed it was healthier. He claimed which one can be more effective for weight loss. Weight loss isn’t about eating healthy, it’s about eating less than you burn
If you’re someone athletic who does a lot of sport and not just static weightlifting by itself, peanut butter and banana on bagel/toast is a great quick meal for energy and calories
i dont swap because if i do, the craving doesnt end. so i end up with calories of the swap + calories of what im craving for. just live and give in to what you want to eat in moderation and from time to time
Villainizing bread, just so you can squeeze in a few pieces of chocolate. Newsflash, no one binges on a loaf of bread, but if there is chocolate at home, it will usually be eaten quickly.
Agree with the general sentiment but yeah if I have good fresh loaf of sourdough at home, I might fuck around and eat too much of it. Especially if it's toasted and buttered.
Everyone complaining just lacks discipline to not give into every single craving. News flash all that “satisfying” bread you’d rather eat constantly for breakfast is what’s keeping you fat.
I’d rather eat a smaller portion of something I like, honestly. I’d savour my one slice of bread instead of choking down two rice cakes, and that dehydrated peanut butter is gross. Counting calories actually isn’t that hard if you track them diligently every day, and knowing portion control means you can only have a species amount of something (one slice of bread, for example) makes me slow down and appreciate it instead of gobbling down 2-3 slices without thinking.
Swap the peanut butter for lower sugar low carb peanut butter and swap the bread for whole grain ( a few less carbs) or a good keto bread ( I eat Aldi keto white bread with 10g fiber from oats per slice). The rice cakes are unhealthy nothingness. Surprisingly has lots of carbs for what it is. Just eat bread
But rice cakes raise your blood sugar faster than white bread. Know what has the same & taste better? A 4 oz steak & green veggies. A baked potato on the side is only 70 more calories, a little butter for it only slightly more.
I’d prefer the bread…I would actually do 1 slice, butter it, toast it, then add the peanut and banana. Sometimes taste is more important than the portion amount ✨
I'm envious, I'm the type who would eat that one slice and immediately butter 3 more because it's more the psychological addiction to taste than the feeling of fullness. So I just follow the option on the right because for fast overeaters like myself, it takes more time to eat this and therefore allows me to stop over consumption.
562? Typical slice of bread is 70-80cal. Jif peanut butter (particularly sugary and cheap) is 190 for 33g (so like 230 for 40g) and a “medium banana” is like 110. 160+230+110= 500cal on the high end, but if the banana is more like 100cal you could be as low as 470, even lower with diet bread.
If I want to have bread... I eat the bread. Add don't swap. Fat, protein, vitamin, carb and tasty. Everything nice. Rice cakes smell and the texture is not it.
Both are fine this is really a preference thing tbh. I love peanut butter and banana, And I say that as a 5‘2 girlie, take ur time w ur diet so u don’t develop anorexia, Otherwise it’s pretty easy.
Im sorry but eating strawberries is not gonna make me full and whats wrong with smaller portions? Lol eating everything "low calorie" but skipping bread is just a set up to binge on bread and other things.
I find it more helpful to just eat one slice, very satisfying and yum. It's still important to know the calorie density though, to make the right decisions for what one needs.
Be honest. No one buys a chocolate bar and eats only three squares at a time. It is why I do not have candy at home and only buy some during a cheat day.
I do. And guess what there's times where you only want three squares and there's times where you want more and there is nothing wrong with that. You don't just have to eat the recommended serving size EVERY single time lol. Enjoy in moderation.
pal, what? you just said they contain THE SAME amount of calories shit,4 rice cakes are practically the same size of these 2 pieces of bread I like rice cakes, but if I'm gonna eat something like this, I'm choosing bread
That's crazy... How active are you? Most people are active n or have jobs that drain the body physically n or mentally. U have to replace the nutrients n hydrate through out the day. The brain alone uses 20 percent of the daily carbohydrates. N most people fast with water with no nutrients in it. Water bottles is a scam. Ngl the rice cakes look like they could be worse in this one. But that's not considering the strawberries (66) and chocolate (180?). Maybe this meal makes you go for seconds. Having a thing of fruit on the side can sometimes have sunk cost fallacy energy.
yes, but the left will keep you full for hours and hours! the right will last you max 2 and if you restrict things like bread you will end up binging and then eating way more calories.. so id say the left.
If it's the left, I'd be eating 4 of such slices so that's a 1000 calories, but with the right, in that much volume, I'd definitely feel really satiated for a snack
Personally would find the bread more satiating , than the rice cakes anyone the same ?
Bread for sure.
Absolutely, his alternative would have me craving food a lot sooner than the bread.
Banana on toast any day!! I mean if you’re watching calories just don’t have the peanut butter?? Or do just be mindful🔥🔥🔥
All that fruit though is very satiating, you’re eating all the rice cakes, the candy and the fruit
yeah he said both are perfectly fine to have

I can't afford this calorie-wise
Rice cakes is just big ass popcorn
Except 1 is half as good and 1/4 as filling
Works for me, the bigger.portion with lower kcal takes longer to eat and therefore reduces over consumption.
Pure carbs, a little bit of fat and basically no protein? Big glucose spike incoming and will wanting your next meal a lot sooner than usual.
