And I agree, I too read him as a bit of a wildcard but if you look at it, what he does is only biting back when people don't show reasonable respect. I think he is a very important element in Hollywood to remind interviewers that they are interviewing a fellow human being and with that they must show common decency.
This one actually confused me a little, because I’ve read many articles and seen many interviews where celebrities explain what they ate and how they trained to get in shape for a movie. That man's sole skillset involves putting out the best food and when challenged; you must have a better reason than I suck at ordering food. He's not good at anything else other than making children.
I’m an addiction counselor and I will say with almost 100% certainty, Letterman was responsible for her next relapse after this interview. Many addicts have low self esteem and a history of being abused. He not only made her feel “less than” he verbally abused her which could have triggered all sorts of shit that she was using drugs to forget about. All for a couple of laughs, what a terrible man, she’s at her lowest, trying to better herself and he basically told her she will fail. Sadly, for the addict, they believe that when it’s said to them.
You're supposed to encourage and support them, in spite of their failures. Cheer them on when they try to climb back onto their feet. If you give up on them, it makes it more likely that they give up on themselves. I'm sure Hollywood already chewed her up and spit her out during her child stardom, and at this point she was past her prime for Hollyweird to show any interest.
This. As an addict myself that interview attack personally hurt. Addiction is an every day struggle. Relapses happen, but having the courage to fight your own shame for "falling off the wagon" and reaching out for help again takes immense strength. In a very fragile state of being. To humiliate her over it, echoing things she probably tells herself is so messed up it's flat out cruel. It was planting the seed for failure. And he successfully did it as you pointed out with her next relapse. My heart aches for her, knowing what it's like being in an addiction situation. 😢
@danielabryner3791 yrah a lot of people are. So much so that that's all they would advertise to get views. She clearly didn't want to talk about it though and any interviewer could have seen that. He saw it and kept pushing and she decided to flip it on him. Class act

So true. Thank you for your words.
What an absolute asshole
AGREED.
“Are you trying to fit into a catsuit?” 😂 Anne Hathaway you legend.
I think a lot of women were actually interested in her regimen though so I didn't find his question offensive.
@@danielabryner3791 She already said she just work out and goes to the gym but the guy was still asking her for any particular workout.
This is pure comedy gold ...
Hell Yeah, 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
@danielabryner3791 yrah a lot of people are. So much so that that's all they would advertise to get views. She clearly didn't want to talk about it though and any interviewer could have seen that. He saw it and kept pushing and she decided to flip it on him. Class act
8:30 Now that steak is a bit too well done. 🤣 Is it even edible?
Poor girl, she didn't deserve that! We love you Lindsay
I hate Letterman but once lindsay converted she did a bunch of even weirder shit. Count trying to buy a child from a woman in the streets and said woman getting REAL angry
Who's we? Lol she didn't deserve this, but I don't love her 💁🏻♀️😂
Tom Cruise "put your manners back in" lol that was a good one
Tom wasn’t playing with that interviewer 😂
No. Cruise was/ Is an arrogant little snot. Sad the interviewer gave him the ammunition to share how much better he is than others
My Nana used to say that all the time!
That was classic.
For those who don't know, that interviewer is Peter Overton, an Australian TV news presenter with a long career here, currently on Channel 9 (one of the major OTA channels in Australia), and for some reason this clip is often used in Channel 9 News promos for his segments as proof of his "hard-hitting investigative journalism" or some schlock. It is absolutely mindboggling to me why anyone, least of all Overton himself, would think this clip reflects well on anyone except Tom Cruise. one of the many tone-deaf things about the big news media in Australia 🙄
Are you trying to fit in a cat suit?😂😂😂
Jim Carrey is a gem. You can tell he's fed up with all of them and he has been he's been trolling them for a long time. 😂
He’s the best!🎉
So why show up? That whole moment felt very “I’m 16 and im so deep.”
So why show up? That whole moment felt very “I’m 16 and im so deep.”
@@s_.777you ever heard of shits and giggles? Also maybe he was on some psychedelic?
I’m sorry but Jim Carrey is so beyond pretentious. He mad millions of dollars by acting and now he pretends that he is better than Hollywood, he was a complete asshole on the set of his Andy Kauffman movie and he did his best to torpedo Kick-Ass 2 because he had some last minute moment about gun violence, screwing over everyone else in the process.
Honestly, if he hates the fashion week so much why even go? The guy is a bajilionnaire, go build houses in Africa if you want some meaning in your life, don’t shit on other people’s passions.
Lmfao when Tom cruise said "put your manners back in"💀
Just like you would with a child.
I don't blame Tom
The Jonah hill one is sad. He’s honestly maybe the most underrated comedy actor in Hollywood. Those questions were insane.
You could see the self-worth plummet in his eyes. He seems like such a fun, sweet guy too (and attractive too, whether the interviewers like it or not). It's just so low and petty.
And he responded with such honesty. Actually he's the only one who simply answered showing his feelings, not getting angry (lindsay Logan too). It shows he must be a really nice guy. I really felt for him.
Nah he’s a liberal dumpster fire, I used to think he was funny before he got political
THEY WERE JUST DOWNRIGHT 💯WRONG PERIOD & JUS` CELEBRITY> BULLYING‼️🤬
I always thought the fat guy interviews were an inside joke perpetrated by Jonah.
17:09 dude is literally Tony Stark 😭
Poor Lindsey Lohan. That was just horrendous and so uncalled for! Addiction is a serious illness to endure! He’s vile!😢
Letterman needs his teeth straightened for that. Unnecessary and ignorant.
Karma caught up to Dave!!
Grodom Ram say. A frikken joke of a human
Who is walking feennuts
Is he drunk
Robert Downey, Jr. should never have to apologize for leaving an interview. These creepy reporters just want to stir up drama.
The interviewer is a complete ass.
“put your manners back in” - my new favorite line.
The interviewer was Nichole Kidmans neighbour and was good friend s with Tom and Nichole..So I think it was Tom trying to be ego douche
@@missk9056What??
@@missk9056The relations don’t matter if they are speaking on a public interview, the hell does being someones neighbor do about that??
It makes no logical sense. Always hated that
@@missk9056 Wouldn't it be worse if your "good friend" started prying during a public interview? I don't see how that makes Tom look like the "ego douche".
The Tom Hardy questions he was asked are absolutely lunacy
