Saw the group at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. It was the Division Bell Tour. Before the concert I met a great group of guys from South Dakota who sold me a ticket 15 rows from the stage at face value. Apparently this block of tickets had sold in South Dakota and right next to the guys I sat with were a large group of Native Americans (three rows at least) from the Pine Ridge Reservation in the same state. And let me tell you these Native Americans were passing the peace pipe, if you know what I mean. Great show! Never will forget it.

After the guitar solo slowed down, I wasn’t prepared for the second explosion; and around 4:28 it was like a nuclear bomb of colors bro it’s hard to explain. Safe to say I was one with the music.

the bassline during the 4/4 is just as good as the 7/4 section I think, it just gets overlooked because it blends so well you don't even think about it.
7/4 is one of the coolest and craziest time signatures. It feels so new, as you're used to 4/4 (the gold standard), 3/4, or even 6/8. 7/4 goes like this: [ > > > ] [ > > > > ]
The musicians from the '60s, '70s and '80s used up all the possible note and rhythm combinations that made good music. It's why bland compositions, copyright infringement and "sampling" for crappy hip-hop and rap is all that's left. I apologize from my generation to the youth of today for depriving them of the chance to have as great a soundtrack woven into the fabric of their life as I've had in mine!
It is. I don't know exactly where but it's out there. Problem is, as the generations get lazier, the lazier music overshadows stuff like this. Only two artists that I can think of off the top of my head that play music for the sake of music are Cavetown and Los Retros. There's also some good finds in the current mainstream, but y'know, it's like finding a needle in a haystack
y'all just old and aren't open minded. There is alot of bands out there and that are alot still coming. From MR bungle to Kali ulchis, there is alot of diversity in music right now. Alot of you old heads just want the music to sound the same and if yall would have had a stronghold the music would have stayed that way. With the internet there is options, if you cant find good music you arent really looking for it.

i was re listening to this, having studied Gilmore's sound and phrasing in my appreciation of all things guitar. with his solo in this being amongst my favorites over all.... I was thinking and hearing exactly that interplay that Richard Wright has with the sax and guitar ....then I read this comment, Yes, it really is genius...and to them it was probably doing just what they do with little thought, just a natural thing. naturally amazing thing at that.
Nobody can compare or equate to what these fellows have done. They are legends in their own right. I saw them only once. I wish I could have gone to more because it is an experience like none other as well. These guys are history legends. Thank you all. This is my first ever Pink Floyd track that I've heard. I used to love it so much, but now I'm starting to dive deeper into their music. I used to only know Dark Side of the Moon, even as a little child, I know this album. But now, I'm becoming a fan of them. Just like how my origins for being a fan of The Beatles are similar to my origins of being a Pink Floyd fan.
DSOTM is my favourite album of all time. Remember hearing this song in a car aged 10 in 1980 and it made a huge impression on me. Never get bored of listening to this masterpiece.

THIS ALBUM IS COMPLETELY LOADED WITH THE GREATEST MUSIC. IT'S NOT JUST ONE OR TWO TRACKS. EVERY TRACK IS THEIR BEST. TAKES ME BACK TO "HIGH" SCHOOL IN THE EARLY 70'S.

@@carlhartwell7978Never heard of this Roger dude, but I just checked it out and it's... not that great tbh. The vocals are grating, the instrumentals are significantly more boring and less interesting compared to the original, and there's just some really ugly looking dog panting on the screen for no real reason as a "music video." Didn't like it lol, you aren't missing out
