I played this for my dad as he was passing away. It was just him and i in the hospital room and he was at that stage where there were no more words that could be spoken. All i could think to do is play some of his favorite albums for him, with him, one last time while i held his hand. I miss that man so much. This album will always remind me of him.
This is the last thing I'd want to hear on my deathbed. All my wasted time, all my failures, all my squandered potential. That's not the moment to rub it in.
Oh my goodness, God bless you!! I played Dark Side for my husband as he was passing away in February this year. He was only 38. We ended with "Wish You Were Here" on that album; I could not have planned it any better if I had tried 😢 May your dear old dad rest in peace!! You're a good kid, Jon ❤
My husband and I used to listen to this Album. He passed away. It will be two long long years this November the 16th.On that day I will be listening to this Album.I Miss you Jason!!!
Sorry that you lost your love of your life. I've noticed that this album has a lot of death connected to it. I don't mean in a bad way but so many commenters mention the loss of a beloved person. Maybe it's because this album transports us into that realm where people pass over to the other side. PS: I hope you're ok and feeling a bit better. Greetings from Cape Town ❤❤
He obviously had great taste in music. Says a lot more than many folks realize. Sounds like someone I would have hung out with. When it comes to loss just know that you're not alone. Cosmos bless you 🥹
At last an official version on TH-cam with no interruptions between songs, this is the proper way to listen to this masterpiece. Edit: Reading some of the comments saying that listening to it on youtube is not the proper way, I want to clarify that I have it on vinyl and I have a great turntable and audio equipment. For me that's the best way to listen to it... but what I meant is that it should be listened to without interruptions.
My Dad passed away on Wednesday February 1, 2023. He was a huge Pink Floyd fan. He had amazing taste in music. From a very young age, I can remember waking up to him playing this album from his bedroom, and then as I got ready for school. I will miss you SO MUCH Pop. My heart is broken. I miss my morning phone call from you...especially your "My son!" after I said hello. You're no longer in pain or suffering. I love you Papasito. Thank you for EVERYTHING! Forever in my ❤️. Update edit: As a tribute to my Dad...I've since gotten "My son" with his initials A.L.O. tattooed on my right forearm.
I am so very sorry to hear about the passing of your dad. It is a nice tribute you put here and appropriate on his favourite group album. Sending you kind and comforting thoughts
May he forever rest in peace and have a great afterlife. He has a great taste in music. it is never easy losing a loved one and i hope you will cherish his memories forever
Sorry for your loss my friend. BUT YOU’RE DAD HAS AWESOME TASTE!!! You will be with him someday in TIME. Which you should listen to carefully. Take care
In 1973, my neighbor came running across the street and started beating on my window, he said you have got to come hear this...he had an incredible sound system in his room, we darkened the room, one of the greatest and timeless musical experiences I've ever had...this album defies to be tied to any musical decade..
That's hilarious. I totally get what you're saying. You're saying this album is the epitome of timeless, and I 100% agree. But at the same time it's easy for me to tie this to a decade. Early 1970s at its finest. It just happens to also be the greatest album of all time. This album is the biggest reason why, for me the greatest era of music was the 60s/70s even though it's slightly before my time and I didn't get to experience the vibe first hand, in real time like you did. The 80s were the most eclectic across the board (from Slayer to Duran Duran), creative and experimental with new music tech, the 90s were an amazing back to basics, less flash more substance time, and then we started falling off with the advent of the internet. Enter the "music should be free" crowd killing the dreams and incentive of countless, actually talented musicians, and replace them with soul-less mouse and keyboard warriors ready to click their way into being a talent, no talent required. Can't sing? NO PROBLEM! Auto-tune. Can't play an instrument? NO PROBLEM! Hit ctrl+I for instrument, then clicky click you're Beethoven! 😂
@@redpilledcovfefe indeed, my brother bought the album when it came out, he was about 14, i was 10 and loved it. fast forward to me being 19 and taking lsd and thinking...i know what will go perfectly with this lol. then fast forward a few more years and it comes out on cd...wow add mushrooms to the mix and it's even more of a thing of great beauty
Can we all take a moment to give our thanks to the ones, who first, remastered this beautiful artwork, and second, posted it without ads to disrupt the flow of this masterpiece. The first time I heard this album was when my dad played it for my brother and I in the mid to late 70's. He had a nice sound system and all I remember is the beating heart and blasting keyboard low notes, along with the haunting beautiful female background vocals , we were terrified and captivated at the same time. My Popz passed in Dec of 2020 and still, when I want to feel close to him, I play this album and cry like a baby. May God bless those who read this, Pink Floyd and last but not least, the OP of this version of DSM! 🙏❤️
Central Texas here…Sittiing on the patio listening to the full album with Eclipse timed to play at totality….this is so cool….never in my 62yrs did I ever dream this could be possible!
My dad’s favorite band was Pink Floyd. He passed away about 3 weeks ago. I grew up with the best taste in music thanks to my Daddio. His favorite song was Comfortably Numb, but his favorite lyric was from Time and it says “And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it’s sinking. Racing around to come up behind you again.” When I turned my dad’s car on for the first time after he passed… guess what the first words I heard out of the speaker were? Exactly those lyrics!! My dad has been sending me so many signs since his passing and most of them involve Pink Floyd. I know he’s rockin’ out in heaven right now. Until I meet you there, Daddio. Shine on, you crazy diamond. 💎
❤your comments on your dad, sorry to hear his passing. My mom passed 2yrs n May mother's day actually!! I so miss her, I feel a bit empty. Didn't think ot would hit me so deep. We have our sweet music they loved etc. ❤
I was 11 years old when this album came out and my older sister was 14 (RIP). She always had the cool albums and she had this album first. I remember going to Sears store in 1977 and picking up this album for myself after hearing it. From what I can remember, it never left my turntable. I played it and played it. It was life-changing for me. All these years later at 61 years old with terminal cancer I still listen to this album all the time and all of Pink Floyd’s collection. It’s been my favorite band forever.
Im 27 years old, i listened a lot of music but Pink Floyd is something different and will always be im my heart, the best band of all time, they produced music, which will be listened forever, someone who have good taste in music will understand what im saying. Who reading this comment, i wish him good day and remember, pink floyd will always be the best music produced by a human.
I'm 67yrs old and it takes me back, and timeless this is !!! I sing and I cry, happy tears because it takes me back, and cry because my life is coming to an end !!!! God how fast your life goes !!! 😢 But I will keep listening till I'm gone !!! Yeahhhh DARK SIDE OF THE MOON !!!!
I love reading the comments while Listen to this album full on my tablet. so many people there. Listen to the same album like we're connected somehow, but the music of Pink Floyd ,it's so awesome keep rocking on brothers and sisters
This album was released on this day, March 1, 1973 … 51 years ago. I was 18 and about to graduate high school in Iowa. It was life altering, especially the song ‘Time’ … the lyrics, “And then one day you find Ten years have got behind you No one told you when to run You missed the starting gun” This became like a mantra to me. It got me out of the place I was and to what I have become - a better man. Music is a huge part of my life, and this remains one of my top 3 albums.
This album changed my whole perspective of life. As in it's cover, my life was more colorful after listening this record. Simply one of the best things that could happen to my life. Thank you for sharing this to the world!
Don’t worry, you’re not the only one listening to this absolute masterpiece in March 2024 . I’m so grateful to have this be a part of life’s musical journey
One of the greatest albums of all time...meant to be listened to in its entirety. Forget about singles. This is an album that has to be listened to from start to finish. I love that.
There are no gaps between songs here. Many albums of this period were made that way because the burgeoning free form FM radio would play entire albums.............I miss that kind of radio but alas it's all gone now.
@@user-io3th6lo9t As a Teen in the 70s I have found it hard to recognize what this plant has become. We Lived an Era that no other will ever be or compare. . . And why would we ever want it to ? ~d(-_-)b~ aHEAD of the Ages 🤔😎✌
17 years old, would play this on my record player all night long. 67 now, and it still sounds brand new! Thank you Pink Floyd, for all the years of wonderful music.
I know this is off topic, but if you believe Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried and rose again, that's *all* you have to do to have everlasting life and spend eternity in complete joy with God. Hope this message blesses you.
Just one year short of you, but all versions in vinyl are being played here regularly on a superb player with an 14 inch arm and a great Koetsu element. Never a dull moment, always enjoying of what they created 50 years ago. I still realize what I had to do to get my first Dark side of the Moon lp and it always gives me a great feeling I decided to buy it at 15 years of age after 20 hours of hard labour😊
I’m 67 too and remember well the first time I heard Dark Side of the Moon when it was first released!! The place, the people, the drugs, ………and it played day and night for months……………🇦🇺❤️
As a dude in his late 40’s we can never quite express to the youth that their youth is a super power and life goes by so wicked fast. The illogic of life…🤗
Can everyone just take a moment to appreciate whoever uploaded this video and didn't put any ads in the mix? They are obviously fans who know the album should be listened to front to back. Kudos my man!
Imagine that .... Alive when the ORIGINAL album was released .... and 50 years later, I'm still here for this release. I am humbled and have been blessed!
I'm like you; 'cept. I have a step-son that stole this and a lot of other records from groups and solo singers. Others like original Honkey Chateau by none other than Elton John. I used to listen to Pink Floyd and loved it. Do still; but get MAD when I realize what that whimp did.
The best album ever. I was born the same year this masterpiece was released. I first heard Money when I was almost seven and the band immediately captivated me ever since. I've literally been a Pink Floyd fan for 44 years.
In 1976, I used this beautiful album to teach English, as a substitute teacher, to a 7th grade class in Narsaq, Greenland. When they asked about "Great Gig in the Sky" I said it was communication beyond language. Some of them seemed to understand. They were great. So was and is the music. Thank you forever, Pink Floyd from my Heart.........
For me it's as simple as can be if you go to the beginning of Floyd and Sid Barrett who started it. Watch their journey as they grow and listen to any interviews with the members of the group.
42 dawg.... common knowledge... look at how long the album is... 42 minutes.... there was actually 5 seconds cut from the beginning "chaos" because they needed the 42!!
This album was my introduction to Pink Floyd. I was given it as a birthday present in 1973 and haven't stopped playing it ever since, one of the greatest albums ever recorded
I play this song in honor of my love who i lost a year ago. We used to watch the birds 🐦 together. Specifically cardnials. And where there shouldn't be a cardinal anywhere near me. One appeared in my direct line of sight. He's ❤telling me (im not dead just continuing the journey).....me too my love me too....
Gehoor hierdie album in Februarie van twintig sestien waar gebruik om te lewe en geskenk geskenk aan my gegee en ek is onskuldig en niemand kan dit steel van my.
Great concept album. It talks about death. Money. Insanity. Getting old. Greed. Life in general. This is the reason it's a epic masterpiece. It touches the soul of what makes us human.
Roger Waters is a lyrical genius he had a nerve breakdown trying to top Dark Side I don't think he managed to I like the Wall LP but there's no way to capture lightning in a bottle twice Dark Side is a masterpiece
What's amazing about this album is that you can listen to it hundreds of times and never get bored with it. It never gets old. You know all the words, you know all the guitar solos, you know all the music and the sound effects...... you know every second of this album by heart. And yet you can listen to it over and over again.
This album and many others in this time period not only catch the artist at the peak of their creativity but are produced and engineered so brilliantly that they will never age or lose their luster and will stand up to endless listenings.
So true Joe. Amazingly, I am still hearing new things in it the older I get and I know this album inside and out. Only the great artists pull stuff like this off.
64 years old now. Been listening to Pink Floyd from my teens. Each track on this album is a piece of creative genius blending musicality with story telling creating mental pictures of the essence of life in the modern world and yet has a timeless appeal.
Thank you. My Grandpa showed me this album when i was growing up as many others. Sadly around oct i lost him, this 20th of april... i have to say goodbye to him. I just know he would of loved the competition and seeing new life breathe into something he loved VERY deeply. Anytime that man was jamming out it was for sure pink floyd all the way. Thank you for all you do as i sit here and remember the beautiful man that was my Grandpa. Shine on you crazy diamond you... i will forever miss you grandpa. I love you.
Nights in white satin, never reaching the end Letters I've written, never meaning to send Beauty I'd always missed with these eyes before Just what the truth is I can't say anymore 'Cause I love you Yes, I love you Oh, how I love you-oh Gazing at people, some hand in hand Just what I'm going through they can't understand Some try to tell me thoughts they cannot defend Just what you want to be you will be in the end And I love you Yes, I love you Oh, how I love you Oh, how I love you Nights in white satin, never reaching the end Letters I've written, never meaning to send Beauty I've always missed with these eyes before Just what the truth is I can't say anymore 'Cause I love you Yes, I love you Oh, how I love you Oh, how I love you-oh 'Cause I love you Yes, I love you Oh, how I love you Oh, how I love you-oh (Symphonic)
Good on yer kiddo ❤ My 86 year old husband is going through the last days of his life at the moment 😢 This album brought us together in 1976 and I am playing it for him now because it has always been special for us ❤ x
Used to sit in my first house , lights down , headphones on, taken to another world, best album ever , now 73 and still get goosebumps listening to it...❤
Same here. Gonna be 70 couple of months. I just listened to it in its entirety.......again, for the millionth time it would seem. Same goosebumps............Same tears.
Imagine hearing it live, as I have by both the Roger Waters collection of musicians. And a couple times with David Gilmore and the original crew , the first time in the LA ,coliseum with around a hundred thousand other fans, it's like being in the music as it's being played , up there with a Grateful Dead show. No words can describe it
First listened to this album in Bobby Kilners basement with Tommy Rawdin, Joe Cinco, and Dave Quagan it was March of 73, I was 16. We entered the basement on Friday after school and didn't come out until Sunday night. We just kept playing it nonstop for over 48 hours. I know every note and lyric to this album. It is and will always be the greatest album of all time.
For a 50 year old album, it's still as great as when it was released all those years ago. This album truly is one of a kind and will remain a stamp, no engraving in music history. This album will never die.
This album came out during my first year in college. The effects of the Vietnam War were everywhere. I fell into the drug scene and dropped out of college disillusioned. Three years later, I met the girl who would save my life. We will celebrate our 47th anniversary in a few days. This music brings tears to my eyes as it transports me back to a time when my world turned upside down.
I didn't get verklempt until the very end. Still remember how blown away I was by this album when I first heard it back in, oh, '73? I'd never heard anything like it. Still haven't, really. Love the comment from that 13 year old kid. Have heard comments like that before from young folk who think the music being produced today sux and that they wish they could've been around when things like Dark Side were first being created. I'm glad I was.
This album repeats in history as society repeats history (Vietnam = Afghanistan, etc.) and being one who scored well in both “American & World History” I feel we are seeing the first steps to repeating it again, WW3 but here in America due to so many let over our Southern border. Unless something is done soon, I feel a financial crash come Jan - March 2024 which will be noted as the starting point.
My dad had my brother and I in his 40's ,, got sick and forced into early retirement. We basicly had a stay at home dad and let me tell you, listening to all the Pink Floyd, Beatles, Queen ect.. albums morning, noon, and night is such a core memory for me. There was always good music playing in the house. Moved out of his home last year at 28, and he is still this way, always music playing ❤
you should check out "shpongle are you shpongled" while you are sphongled on some mushrooms or the like. a different style but a masterpiece nontheless
I’ve been listening to this album for 50 years. The musical chemistry and creative genius reached in this masterpiece rivals anything the brilliant Beatles achieved. We are so privileged to have the gift of hearing it.
Alan Parsons is also one of the best audio engineers so of course the guys had him work on this masterpiece. Not sure this will ever be duplicated. I am blessed to have lived through those times. I'm 68 now and still listen to Floyd all the time. It seems futuristic but at the same time it never gets old.
I remember listening to this in the 70s after school, and here I am all those years later still listening and never tiring of it. Thanks Pink Floyd, Alan Parsons, and everyone who contributed to this masterpiece.
I listen to the album very often, several times a week probably. I listen to it more now than I ever did when it came out. Not seeing Floyd play is my only real regret.
Check out some of the tribute bands. I was lucky to see Floyd several times in England and I've also been to a few tributes. Think Floyd are definitely worth checking out if they are still performing!
Best album ever made I'd say. I've overplayed it to the extremes but it's undeniably the best damn album I've ever heard, it's like magic in musical form
My friend introduced me to The Pink Floyd as a young teenager with this album and I've been hooked ever since. I own every Pink Floyd and the late great Syd Barrett albums. Greatest Band Ever!
I was just scrolling through the comments. It’s so nice to have a break from all the negativity in the world and see that people can be encouraging to one another. Thank you all for your beautiful comments! God loves each and every one of you! Have a wonderful day! 🙌🙌🙌🙌💖💖💖💖
As a Sabbath/Zeppelin/Deep Purple rocker kid of the 70's, this is the album opened up my soul. To this day, it is still a life changing experience to listen to it...over, and over...and over again. In fact, my father, an avid Jazz audiophile, asked me to bring this album out to the living room so he could listen to it. After he heard "Great Gig in the Sky", he looked at me and said, "Play that when I die".
Pink Floyd was a game changer for me. When I first heard this album I didn't understand, I liked The Wall etc. But the more I listened I came to love earlier PF 1967-1975, especially this album. Honestly it's the best album ever made
Yo también deseo eso, a la hora de mi muerte mi hijo mayor tiene instrucciones de colocar esa canción. Me parece una perfecta canción para trascender del plano material al espiritual.
This album was played over the boiler room intercom on a boombox USS Stein DE 1065 while in port and talking apart a 1200 psi boiler for maintenance it played non stop for 72 hours in 1974,the song Time was an inspiration to see the world and make something of my self thank you Pink Floyd.
Comfortably Numb introduced to me Pink Floyd during lockdown. Echoes mesmerized me when I was having a hard time, pressured by lectures and homeworks. Then one day, I decided to checkout this album. Oh man, I wish I could experience it for the first time once more, the magic they delivered.
Saw their first concert here in St Louis in 70's . Dark Side of the Moon was INCREDIBLE! Lazer Lighting was the new kid on the block and they had the crowd mesmerized! NOBODY LEFT THEIR SEATS!!!! I'm 77 now and they're STILL my favorite❤❤
The production quality of this album renders it genuinly ageless and the themes explored go right to the heart of the dark side of humans and their ways which will never leave us as well.
I'm too unhappy to listen to music anymore. This used to be one of my favorite albums and bands, I spent most of my teen years listening, I named my cat after the band, but now, I am too unhappy, and to listen to this stuff only makes me think of how better days are long over. 😟 I don't really enjoy much of anything anymore, the world has changed too much and I do not like it anymore. I'm just waiting for my end now.
And she didn't think they used any of it. She was a local singer that did all of it in 1 take for 300 quid. She sued them when they used so much of her vocals and Floyd finally paid her 1 million. 27 years later.
Just be grateful that we had music like this in our youth and we can still enjoy it now. Kids these days won't have a damn thing to look back on. My daughter will. I'm leaving her my 500 albums.
Gehoor hierdie album in Februarie van twintig sestien waar gebruik om te lewe en geskenk geskenk aan my gegee en ek is onskuldig en niemand kan dit steel van my.
Pink Floyd really achieved something bigger than themselves with this album. This album is one of mankind's greatest achievements not only in music, but also in art. Not only is it the greatest album of all time, but it is the most perfectly crafted album. Having topics and messages that ring truer than ever. Happy 50th Anniversary to this extraordinary album and piece of art that shall stand the test of time for many years to come.
I'm really sure everyone know better about Dark Side album art more than who they are. Before i listen to them, i never heard David Gilmour, Roger Waters, or anyone else in the band but i'm sure i saw that cover somewhere.
I was 18 when this album was released - I'm 67 coming up on 68 now - and it's still as powerful now as it was then. I had a cassette tape of it in my car and it remained there for months on end on "auto reverse" I would often listen in my bedroom too, with headphones on and the volume cranked up LOUD. What fabulous memories listening to it now brings back. Simply the greatest album of all time. I have 32 year old daughter and it pleases me that she also enjoys the music from "my time" too. However, the reason I'm posting is this thought - How deep this album is, yet written and performed by guys in their late 20's early 30's AMAZING! Plus the technology and equipment then is not as now, so even more of an achievement considering that. And yes, it will still be the best album of all time in another 50 years. Thank you Pink Floyd.
I was in my last year in High School when I got this album here in South Africa and still enjoy this good shit. I'm 68 now and still love listening to it when I go for a ride on my 600 Honda thumper down the east coast of South Africa. Our winters are like most countries' summer. Pink Floyd is awesome.....
A small room-sized computer could create absolutely any sound back in the 60s already, and their interfaces were alright. Hence yr feeling of freshness
The best, of all time, greatest album. We'll never see them live again. I first listened to this album as a 15 yr old, 1975, still blows me away. David Gilmour, Roger Waters, Sydney Barrett (rip), Richard Wright (rip), Nick Mason. Let's not forget Robert Klose, lead guitarist from the 'Tea Set', an early incarnation of Pink Floyd.
This was my late husband's favourite album of all time. We played some Pink Floyd at his funeral. Hope you can still hear this darling. Also, 'Wish you were hear', ofcourse.
My dad passed away 2 years ago. He was a big pink floyd fan. One of his best memories he would always talk about was going to see them live. I serve tables for a living and 2 days in a row a had tables wearing pink floyd shirts. I took that as a sign to put this on. And i can feel my dad while listening to this
40:48 This is the alpha and omega of MUSIC The masterpiece, time, completion, creation, flight. What else can I say, Pink Floyd found the TRUTH with their music
You know an album is good when you immediately go to the comments and say how old you are. I'm turning 61. This album is part of my DNA at this point. It permeates my thinking on a daily basis.
Gehoor hierdie album in Februarie van twintig sestien waar gebruik om te lewe en geskenk geskenk aan my gegee en ek is onskuldig en niemand kan dit steel van my.
I'm sixteen and this album turned my life upside down! I have never cried because of music before! After listening to this masterpiece, I began to enjoy life! This is absolutely fantastic!
Pink Floyd!!!
English Translation: Bravo guys, happy album anniversary! You are the coolest! I never get tired of listening to your GREAT music! First, on hackneyed reels, overwritten 10 times, and now with high-quality "ears". And, as always, goosebumps! Thanks Pink Floyd!!!
Born in 1980, I grew up listening what my parents were listening. And during my childhood I heard A LOT of Pink Floyd. While playing in my bedroom, I remember having heard this album dozens of times, not to say hundreds or a thousand. I remember how life was so nice. To grow up in theses conditions was great! Now I'm 43 and these souvenirs of mine almost appear as if it was another person. Lost my Dad in 2021, I miss him so much. I miss this sweet time of childhood when he was playing Pink Floyd in our house, putting the volume.... HIGH ! I miss you so much Dad, every single day since you're gone is like living someone's else life. Thank you for having made me discover such treasures in music's world. Treasures like... PINK FLOYD.
I played this for my dad as he was passing away. It was just him and i in the hospital room and he was at that stage where there were no more words that could be spoken. All i could think to do is play some of his favorite albums for him, with him, one last time while i held his hand. I miss that man so much. This album will always remind me of him.
If my loved ones played this as I slipped away , then I would be be the happiest dying soul. Take care and comfort,, you are loved
Great gig in the sky😢
Yep, I'm down for The Great Gig in the Sky, what else do you want. PEACE TO YOU ALL MY FRIEND'S. ✌️😎🏴
I'm 37 and i love Pink Floyd more than anything ever
Nice one❤
You’re a man with something better than just a brain, you have great sensibility.
U 😁 cheers to the FLOYD
U 😁 cheers to the FLOYD
Very good!
Pink Floyd Albums are not just music. They're an experience.
Jah Hah , that's right.....
And their concerts aren't just a concert, they're an EVENT.
Fuckin "A"!
What's an album?
Yes, but wayy too many people think you must be on acid to truly enjoy it. I'd have to disagree.
My husband and I used to listen to this Album. He passed away. It will be two long long years this November the 16th.On that day I will be listening to this Album.I Miss you Jason!!!
Just read your comment 38 minutes into the 17th. My heart goes out to you for your loss. 💔 ❤
❤😢🙏🏻
Sorry that you lost your love of your life. I've noticed that this album has a lot of death connected to it. I don't mean in a bad way but so many commenters mention the loss of a beloved person. Maybe it's because this album transports us into that realm where people pass over to the other side.
PS: I hope you're ok and feeling a bit better. Greetings from Cape Town ❤❤
So sorry for your loss love. He'll be playing in the great gig in the sky. God bless him and god bless you 🙏 ❤️ ♥️ 💖 🙌
He obviously had great taste in music.
Thats very true, I never listened to it on youtube because of that
👏👏👏👏👏
And now will be interesting that could share here the 5.1 or quadrophonic (this one made by Alan Parson) mix.
Back in the day we had to flip the album. And then there was the spot in the middle of songs when the 8 track player I had in my car switched tracks!
Agree

LSD made it a whole new experience

Timeless masterpiece

That's awesome!! I didn't even think of that! Did you do it?
Rest in peace❤️

I was 11 years old when this album came out and my older sister was 14 (RIP). She always had the cool albums and she had this album first. I remember going to Sears store in 1977 and picking up this album for myself after hearing it. From what I can remember, it never left my turntable. I played it and played it. This album was released on this day, March 1, 1973 … 51 years ago. I was 18 and about to graduate high school in Iowa. It was life altering, especially the song ‘Time’ … the lyrics,
“And then one day you find
Ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run
You missed the starting gun”
This became like a mantra to me. It got me out of the place I was and to what I have become - a better man.

This album repeats in history as society repeats history (Vietnam = Afghanistan, etc.) and being one who scored well in both “American & World History” I feel we are seeing the first steps to repeating it again, WW3 but here in America due to so many let over our Southern border. Ich bin 72. Auf meiner Beerdigung wird zum Schluss ECLYPSE gespielt. Das steht fest.
My friend introduced me to The Pink Floyd as a young teenager with this album and I've been hooked ever since. I own every Pink Floyd and the late great Syd Barrett albums. Greatest Band Ever!
Before anyone asks: yes, before they were called Pink Floyd, they were called THE Pink Floyd. (And before that, The Screaming Abdabs.)

we all need to get back in touch with our souls 2024. Art and Nature are the best ways!
People are always the best together.
When we realize we all have way more in common, things would be different. We're all just trying to be happy and get through life.
Peace...
After he heard "Great Gig in the Sky", he looked at me and said, "Play that when I die".
same
Pink Floyd was a game changer for me. When I first heard this album I didn't understand, I liked The Wall etc. But the more I listened I came to love earlier PF 1967-1975, especially this album. Honestly it's the best album ever made
Love those bands and STV! But your right. Timeless album
Now go listen to Animals!
@@jdc_2000 Animals is great but DSOTM is something magical.
@@ipapermc you obviously didn't read their entire comment bro
@@AdamSandaver Their whole stretch of music from Meddle to The Wall was phenomenal!
check out the video for "one of these days" live on the Delicate sound of thunder tour.
❤God Bless You!❤
I was at that concert as well! They played two nights in a row. Amazing one of a kind experience!
I'm 15 and I'm listening to them on the vinyl
The best way to listen to them
Good for you, best way to listen to any music. Enjoy
Don't miss the starting gun.
Not on THE VINYL!
@@joewaldner6986 NEVER. hahahaha
They don't write albums like this anymore! So original and creative. The definitive sound of my youth in the 1970s and beyond.
Best album of all time you ask me named my boy after the band love pink floyd
pink floyd's music especially this album is far beyond its time. eternal.
This album is a true masterpiece that transcends genre and time, and its impact on music and culture cannot be overstated.
I don't really enjoy much of anything anymore, the world has changed too much and I do not like it anymore. I'm just waiting for my end now.
No kidding love thi band
It's a friggin artwork, forty something min audio ARTWORK👈!!

GODD DAMMMNN! That woman who’s singing throughout the great gig in the sky👌👌👌👌!!!!!!!!
One of the best vocal tracks EVER
And she didn't think they used any of it. She was a local singer that did all of it in 1 take for 300 quid. She sued them when they used so much of her vocals and Floyd finally paid her 1 million. 27 years later.
I'm 73, memories rolling down my cheeks, i miss my youth.

61 years old and still my #1 favorite album of all TIME.
Well I'm 51 and I concur. 👍
Me too, at 61
I’m 71 years old and Floyd and Zeppelin are the best for me. I’m fond of Sabbath music too.
63, ditto!
63 , we’re like old rare cheeses
Very Well Said!
I would change years to come to Forever
would not get into GOAT , or dubious comparisons, American jazz and much more with more virtuousity and timelessness
Just............❤
ピンクフロイド史上最高のアルバム。創意工夫の高さがコンセプトアルバムとしても秀逸ですね。
セコムしてますか?
Thank you Pink Floyd.
is it still moving at 68😛

Are you still alive? 😮
How do you know how old you are?
I just can't believe how old this music really is. It sounds so fresh. Truly timeless stuff here.
Really 😢makes me think 😢😢
@danielvolschenk3103 Hats off, as I raise a glass to you Sir! L'Chaim 🍸
Мені таку би жінку ....а каца ...не люблю
Sweet. I'm sure "darling" heard you. I joke with friends that they are going to be forced to sit through the entire album, passing j's at my funeral.
Sorry for your lost. He is now at The Great Gig in The Sky.
Thank you celio. I supose we were like 'two fish in a fish bowel'.
I'm 68,remember when it came out, now I'm in a waiting room while my son has heart surgery listening to the best album ever made,THANK YOU, PINK FLOYD
How's your son currently doing?
Hope your son is doing well.
Hope everything went well with your son's surgery.
Wow prayers for your son, I certainly know what he has gone through. 3/06/20 I had a triple bypass surgery.
Best of everything for your son.
My dad passed away 2 years ago. He was a big pink floyd fan. One of his best memories he would always talk about was going to see them live. I serve tables for a living and 2 days in a row a had tables wearing pink floyd shirts. I took that as a sign to put this on. And i can feel my dad while listening to this
Bless you and bless your dad

So HAPPY to be a part of the Pink Floyd journey. My dad always listened during my upbringing! LOVE
PINK FLOYD.
Lost my father in 2006. Honey I'd love to tell you it gets easier but I can't. On the positive side, he's only a thought away... blessings to you 💜
El ALBUM es MAGICO . SIN mas que decir agradezco a este maravilloso grupo de musicos que alteraron mis sentidos para siempre !!!!
It's my story too.
He's not gone. He just moved on. Don't waste a minute mourning. He gave you all the tools you need to thrive and create the path for your kids.
See you on the dark side of the moon
