At last an official version on TH-cam with no interruptions between songs, this is the proper way to listen to this masterpiece. Edit: Reading some of the comments saying that listening to it on youtube is not the proper way, I want to clarify that I have it on vinyl and I have a great turntable and audio equipment. For me that's the best way to listen to it... but what I meant is that it should be listened to without interruptions.
I played this for my dad as he was passing away. It was just him and i in the hospital room and he was at that stage where there were no more words that could be spoken. All i could think to do is play some of his favorite albums for him, with him, one last time while i held his hand. I miss that man so much. This album will always remind me of him.
This is the last thing I'd want to hear on my deathbed. All my wasted time, all my failures, all my squandered potential. That's not the moment to rub it in.
Oh my goodness, God bless you!! I played Dark Side for my husband as he was passing away in February this year. He was only 38. We ended with "Wish You Were Here" on that album; I could not have planned it any better if I had tried 😢 May your dear old dad rest in peace!! You're a good kid, Jon ❤
I was 11 years old when this album came out and my older sister was 14 (RIP). She always had the cool albums and she had this album first. I remember going to Sears store in 1977 and picking up this album for myself after hearing it. From what I can remember, it never left my turntable. I played it and played it. It was life-changing for me. All these years later at 61 years old with terminal cancer I still listen to this album all the time and all of Pink Floyd’s collection. It’s been my favorite band forever.
In 1973, my neighbor came running across the street and started beating on my window, he said you have got to come hear this...he had an incredible sound system in his room, we darkened the room, one of the greatest and timeless musical experiences I've ever had...this album defies to be tied to any musical decade..
That's hilarious. I totally get what you're saying. You're saying this album is the epitome of timeless, and I 100% agree. But at the same time it's easy for me to tie this to a decade. Early 1970s at its finest. It just happens to also be the greatest album of all time. This album is the biggest reason why, for me the greatest era of music was the 60s/70s even though it's slightly before my time and I didn't get to experience the vibe first hand, in real time like you did. The 80s were the most eclectic across the board (from Slayer to Duran Duran), creative and experimental with new music tech, the 90s were an amazing back to basics, less flash more substance time, and then we started falling off with the advent of the internet. Enter the "music should be free" crowd killing the dreams and incentive of countless, actually talented musicians, and replace them with soul-less mouse and keyboard warriors ready to click their way into being a talent, no talent required. Can't sing? NO PROBLEM! Auto-tune. Can't play an instrument? NO PROBLEM! Hit ctrl+I for instrument, then clicky click you're Beethoven! 😂
@@redpilledcovfefe indeed, my brother bought the album when it came out, he was about 14, i was 10 and loved it. fast forward to me being 19 and taking lsd and thinking...i know what will go perfectly with this lol. then fast forward a few more years and it comes out on cd...wow add mushrooms to the mix and it's even more of a thing of great beauty
My Dad passed away on Wednesday February 1, 2023. He was a huge Pink Floyd fan. He had amazing taste in music. From a very young age, I can remember waking up to him playing this album from his bedroom, and then as I got ready for school. I will miss you SO MUCH Pop. My heart is broken. I miss my morning phone call from you...especially your "My son!" after I said hello. You're no longer in pain or suffering. I love you Papasito. Thank you for EVERYTHING! Forever in my ❤️. Update edit: As a tribute to my Dad...I've since gotten "My son" with his initials A.L.O. tattooed on my right forearm.
I am so very sorry to hear about the passing of your dad. It is a nice tribute you put here and appropriate on his favourite group album. Sending you kind and comforting thoughts
May he forever rest in peace and have a great afterlife. He has a great taste in music. it is never easy losing a loved one and i hope you will cherish his memories forever
Sorry for your loss my friend. BUT YOU’RE DAD HAS AWESOME TASTE!!! You will be with him someday in TIME. Which you should listen to carefully. Take care
My husband and I used to listen to this Album. He passed away. It will be two long long years this November the 16th.On that day I will be listening to this Album.I Miss you Jason!!!
Sorry that you lost your love of your life. I've noticed that this album has a lot of death connected to it. I don't mean in a bad way but so many commenters mention the loss of a beloved person. Maybe it's because this album transports us into that realm where people pass over to the other side. PS: I hope you're ok and feeling a bit better. Greetings from Cape Town ❤❤
He obviously had great taste in music. Says a lot more than many folks realize. Sounds like someone I would have hung out with. When it comes to loss just know that you're not alone. Cosmos bless you 🥹
My dad’s favorite band was Pink Floyd. He passed away about 3 weeks ago. I grew up with the best taste in music thanks to my Daddio. His favorite song was Comfortably Numb, but his favorite lyric was from Time and it says “And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it’s sinking. Racing around to come up behind you again.” When I turned my dad’s car on for the first time after he passed… guess what the first words I heard out of the speaker were? Exactly those lyrics!! My dad has been sending me so many signs since his passing and most of them involve Pink Floyd. I know he’s rockin’ out in heaven right now. Until I meet you there, Daddio. Shine on, you crazy diamond. 💎
❤your comments on your dad, sorry to hear his passing. My mom passed 2yrs n May mother's day actually!! I so miss her, I feel a bit empty. Didn't think ot would hit me so deep. We have our sweet music they loved etc. ❤
I'm 67yrs old and it takes me back, and timeless this is !!! I sing and I cry, happy tears because it takes me back, and cry because my life is coming to an end !!!! God how fast your life goes !!! 😢 But I will keep listening till I'm gone !!! Yeahhhh DARK SIDE OF THE MOON !!!!
This album was released on this day, March 1, 1973 … 51 years ago. I was 18 and about to graduate high school in Iowa. It was life altering, especially the song ‘Time’ … the lyrics, “And then one day you find Ten years have got behind you No one told you when to run You missed the starting gun” This became like a mantra to me. It got me out of the place I was and to what I have become - a better man. Music is a huge part of my life, and this remains one of my top 3 albums.
My dad’s favorite album. Passed away from cancer at age 46 in 1999. We didn’t agree on much except both loving this album. RIP old man, love you and miss you
So sorry for your loss. My parents and I don't get along well especially since I had to move back in with my own health problems dam not what I cold call a success but not for lack of trying.
Don’t worry, you’re not the only one listening to this absolute masterpiece in March 2024 . I’m so grateful to have this be a part of life’s musical journey
I was just a kid, in Florence, Italy, the first time I listened to the Pink Floyd. My neighbor was passionate about music and introduced me and my brother to them. He showed us a music magazine in which a critic wrote that Pink Floyd are as important as Mozart or Beethoven. The world will still listen to their music even in 3 or 4 centuries from now. He was so right!
Can everyone just take a moment to appreciate whoever uploaded this video and didn't put any ads in the mix? They are obviously fans who know the album should be listened to front to back. Kudos my man!
I was just scrolling through the comments. It’s so nice to have a break from all the negativity in the world and see that people can be encouraging to one another. Thank you all for your beautiful comments! God loves each and every one of you! Have a wonderful day! 🙌🙌🙌🙌💖💖💖💖
This album changed my whole perspective of life. As in it's cover, my life was more colorful after listening this record. Simply one of the best things that could happen to my life. Thank you for sharing this to the world!
This album was my introduction to Pink Floyd. I was given it as a birthday present in 1973 and haven't stopped playing it ever since, one of the greatest albums ever recorded
For me it's as simple as can be if you go to the beginning of Floyd and Sid Barrett who started it. Watch their journey as they grow and listen to any interviews with the members of the group.
42 dawg.... common knowledge... look at how long the album is... 42 minutes.... there was actually 5 seconds cut from the beginning "chaos" because they needed the 42!!
Central Texas here…Sittiing on the patio listening to the full album with Eclipse timed to play at totality….this is so cool….never in my 62yrs did I ever dream this could be possible!
This album came out during my first year in college. The effects of the Vietnam War were everywhere. I fell into the drug scene and dropped out of college disillusioned. Three years later, I met the girl who would save my life. We will celebrate our 47th anniversary in a few days. This music brings tears to my eyes as it transports me back to a time when my world turned upside down.
I didn't get verklempt until the very end. Still remember how blown away I was by this album when I first heard it back in, oh, '73? I'd never heard anything like it. Still haven't, really. Love the comment from that 13 year old kid. Have heard comments like that before from young folk who think the music being produced today sux and that they wish they could've been around when things like Dark Side were first being created. I'm glad I was.
This album repeats in history as society repeats history (Vietnam = Afghanistan, etc.) and being one who scored well in both “American & World History” I feel we are seeing the first steps to repeating it again, WW3 but here in America due to so many let over our Southern border. Unless something is done soon, I feel a financial crash come Jan - March 2024 which will be noted as the starting point.
17 years old, would play this on my record player all night long. 67 now, and it still sounds brand new! Thank you Pink Floyd, for all the years of wonderful music.
I know this is off topic, but if you believe Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried and rose again, that's *all* you have to do to have everlasting life and spend eternity in complete joy with God. Hope this message blesses you.
Just one year short of you, but all versions in vinyl are being played here regularly on a superb player with an 14 inch arm and a great Koetsu element. Never a dull moment, always enjoying of what they created 50 years ago. I still realize what I had to do to get my first Dark side of the Moon lp and it always gives me a great feeling I decided to buy it at 15 years of age after 20 hours of hard labour😊
I’m 67 too and remember well the first time I heard Dark Side of the Moon when it was first released!! The place, the people, the drugs, ………and it played day and night for months……………🇦🇺❤️
As a dude in his late 40’s we can never quite express to the youth that their youth is a super power and life goes by so wicked fast. The illogic of life…🤗
Used to sit in my first house , lights down , headphones on, taken to another world, best album ever , now 73 and still get goosebumps listening to it...❤
Same here. Gonna be 70 couple of months. I just listened to it in its entirety.......again, for the millionth time it would seem. Same goosebumps............Same tears.
Alan Parsons is also one of the best audio engineers so of course the guys had him work on this masterpiece. Not sure this will ever be duplicated. I am blessed to have lived through those times. I'm 68 now and still listen to Floyd all the time. It seems futuristic but at the same time it never gets old.
you should check out "shpongle are you shpongled" while you are sphongled on some mushrooms or the like. a different style but a masterpiece nontheless
One of the greatest albums of all time...meant to be listened to in its entirety. Forget about singles. This is an album that has to be listened to from start to finish. I love that.
There are no gaps between songs here. Many albums of this period were made that way because the burgeoning free form FM radio would play entire albums.............I miss that kind of radio but alas it's all gone now.
@@user-io3th6lo9t As a Teen in the 70s I have found it hard to recognize what this plant has become. We Lived an Era that no other will ever be or compare. . . And why would we ever want it to ? ~d(-_-)b~ aHEAD of the Ages 🤔😎✌
Im 73 years old and i love Pink Flyod .My friend from Philadelphia gave me the T shirt from PF tour at Philadelphia PA Spectrum March 15 1973 ..I still have the T shirt still fits me like back when i was 24 years old 😊
For a 50 year old album, it's still as great as when it was released all those years ago. This album truly is one of a kind and will remain a stamp, no engraving in music history. This album will never die.
Good on yer kiddo ❤ My 86 year old husband is going through the last days of his life at the moment 😢 This album brought us together in 1976 and I am playing it for him now because it has always been special for us ❤ x
Great concept album. It talks about death. Money. Insanity. Getting old. Greed. Life in general. This is the reason it's a epic masterpiece. It touches the soul of what makes us human.
Roger Waters is a lyrical genius he had a nerve breakdown trying to top Dark Side I don't think he managed to I like the Wall LP but there's no way to capture lightning in a bottle twice Dark Side is a masterpiece
This album is a great masterpiece, a gem that marked rock history in 1973. The sound and music are really amazing and impressive, total perfection. The album explores the philosophical journey of each song from start to finish. The legendary band Pink Floyd did a good teamwork to compose this record. Happy 50th anniversary. 🌘
I'M having goosebumps.I just can't have enough of it.I'm 75 this year,a Pink Floyd Die Hard Fan.Pink Anderson n Floyd Council must be Looking Down From Heaven with Delight, Right On Guys!
What's amazing about this album is that you can listen to it hundreds of times and never get bored with it. It never gets old. You know all the words, you know all the guitar solos, you know all the music and the sound effects...... you know every second of this album by heart. And yet you can listen to it over and over again.
This album and many others in this time period not only catch the artist at the peak of their creativity but are produced and engineered so brilliantly that they will never age or lose their luster and will stand up to endless listenings.
So true Joe. Amazingly, I am still hearing new things in it the older I get and I know this album inside and out. Only the great artists pull stuff like this off.
50 years old and still gets 23million views shows just how good bands like this are and how much of an influence they've had on generations of music lovers.
The production quality of this album renders it genuinly ageless and the themes explored go right to the heart of the dark side of humans and their ways which will never leave us as well.
I'm too unhappy to listen to music anymore. This used to be one of my favorite albums and bands, I spent most of my teen years listening, I named my cat after the band, but now, I am too unhappy, and to listen to this stuff only makes me think of how better days are long over. 😟 I don't really enjoy much of anything anymore, the world has changed too much and I do not like it anymore. I'm just waiting for my end now.
Comfortably Numb introduced to me Pink Floyd during lockdown. Echoes mesmerized me when I was having a hard time, pressured by lectures and homeworks. Then one day, I decided to checkout this album. Oh man, I wish I could experience it for the first time once more, the magic they delivered.
64 years old now. Been listening to Pink Floyd from my teens. Each track on this album is a piece of creative genius blending musicality with story telling creating mental pictures of the essence of life in the modern world and yet has a timeless appeal.
I remember listening to this in the 70s after school, and here I am all those years later still listening and never tiring of it. Thanks Pink Floyd, Alan Parsons, and everyone who contributed to this masterpiece.
I listen to the album very often, several times a week probably. I listen to it more now than I ever did when it came out. Not seeing Floyd play is my only real regret.
Check out some of the tribute bands. I was lucky to see Floyd several times in England and I've also been to a few tributes. Think Floyd are definitely worth checking out if they are still performing!
In 1976, I used this beautiful album to teach English, as a substitute teacher, to a 7th grade class in Narsaq, Greenland. When they asked about "Great Gig in the Sky" I said it was communication beyond language. Some of them seemed to understand. They were great. So was and is the music. Thank you forever, Pink Floyd from my Heart.........
Thank you to the Highest Being for aligning the stars and the cosmos, allowing these four incredible individuals (David, Roger, Rick and Nick) to cross paths and meet in this lifetime and create something truly special for the world to enjoy and experience. Love you, Pink Floyd!
I was 18 when this album was released - I'm 67 coming up on 68 now - and it's still as powerful now as it was then. I had a cassette tape of it in my car and it remained there for months on end on "auto reverse" I would often listen in my bedroom too, with headphones on and the volume cranked up LOUD. What fabulous memories listening to it now brings back. Simply the greatest album of all time. I have 32 year old daughter and it pleases me that she also enjoys the music from "my time" too. However, the reason I'm posting is this thought - How deep this album is, yet written and performed by guys in their late 20's early 30's AMAZING! Plus the technology and equipment then is not as now, so even more of an achievement considering that. And yes, it will still be the best album of all time in another 50 years. Thank you Pink Floyd.
Thank you. My Grandpa showed me this album when i was growing up as many others. Sadly around oct i lost him, this 20th of april... i have to say goodbye to him. I just know he would of loved the competition and seeing new life breathe into something he loved VERY deeply. Anytime that man was jamming out it was for sure pink floyd all the way. Thank you for all you do as i sit here and remember the beautiful man that was my Grandpa. Shine on you crazy diamond you... i will forever miss you grandpa. I love you.
51 years now… may it continue to enchant people for another 50 years. This remains such a masterpiece to me. It’s pretty amazing how the composition and production of this album still holds up to this day, and how far ahead of its, well, Time it was.
I keep listening to this masterpiece for 50 years, it hasn't aged, I'm always discovering new nuances and new sounds, there seems to be an intrinsic magic in these sounds. Eternal masterpiece.
@@Imjustsaying1966Sometimes people want to feel a little less alone. I’m giving a thumbs up because I’m grieving, too, and I’d like him to know there’s someone else who gets it.
Saw their first concert here in St Louis in 70's . Dark Side of the Moon was INCREDIBLE! Lazer Lighting was the new kid on the block and they had the crowd mesmerized! NOBODY LEFT THEIR SEATS!!!! I'm 77 now and they're STILL my favorite❤❤
Born in 1980, I grew up listening what my parents were listening. And during my childhood I heard A LOT of Pink Floyd. While playing in my bedroom, I remember having heard this album dozens of times, not to say hundreds or a thousand. I remember how life was so nice. To grow up in theses conditions was great! Now I'm 43 and these souvenirs of mine almost appear as if it was another person. Lost my Dad in 2021, I miss him so much. I miss this sweet time of childhood when he was playing Pink Floyd in our house, putting the volume.... HIGH ! I miss you so much Dad, every single day since you're gone is like living someone's else life. Thank you for having made me discover such treasures in music's world. Treasures like... PINK FLOYD.
A friend of mine with older brothers introduced me to this album in 1974, I was 12 years old. I'm 62 now and still love it. I can relate each song to different events that I've experienced, The Great Gig in the Sky will be the final one, as my funeral song.
Pink Floyd really achieved something bigger than themselves with this album. This album is one of mankind's greatest achievements not only in music, but also in art. Not only is it the greatest album of all time, but it is the most perfectly crafted album. Having topics and messages that ring truer than ever. Happy 50th Anniversary to this extraordinary album and piece of art that shall stand the test of time for many years to come.
I'm really sure everyone know better about Dark Side album art more than who they are. Before i listen to them, i never heard David Gilmour, Roger Waters, or anyone else in the band but i'm sure i saw that cover somewhere.
My friend introduced me to The Pink Floyd as a young teenager with this album and I've been hooked ever since. I own every Pink Floyd and the late great Syd Barrett albums. Greatest Band Ever!
Imagine hearing it live, as I have by both the Roger Waters collection of musicians. And a couple times with David Gilmore and the original crew , the first time in the LA ,coliseum with around a hundred thousand other fans, it's like being in the music as it's being played , up there with a Grateful Dead show. No words can describe it
Gehoor hierdie album in Februarie van twintig sestien waar gebruik om te lewe en geskenk geskenk aan my gegee en ek is onskuldig en niemand kan dit steel van my.
i think I was 15 when this album was released. Tripping music but no drugs are really required. A good pair of headphones and your journey begins. An amazing piece of craftsmanship and they had only just begun. Awesome talent and extreme memories. Thanks so much guys! A big part of my life. Congrats on both of your careers. Have a cigar..
I'm sixteen and this album turned my life upside down! I have never cried because of music before! After listening to this masterpiece, I began to enjoy life! This is absolutely fantastic!
Maybe it Was and somehow it Jumped Time cause Sometimes I feel Like I Jumped through time one way and the other before it Returns me to the last place I remember listening From. I enjoy how it Builds up and has several falls and peaks but when it gets to Eclipse Its like A steady Constant peak that gains Intensity till the Very Last Words its like it Brought me to the Center of An Eternally Cosmic Dimension of Galactic, Atomic, Quantum, and Spiritual Proportions and all is in Harmony. It Escapes Time Completely...I think It wasnt Even recorded But is a Moment Frozen or Ingrained In the Webbing or waves Of The Complete Infinite Universe/ all Multiverses... The Members of Pink Floyd just Gave us the Holy Grail, the First and Greatest Translation of TimeKeeper's Universe Code that resonates on Human Frequencies.... I like How you said it Better cause I use way too many words that will never quite have the depth I want to explain the Powers it Holds...
When I was a little girl this album scared me. In my teens I discovered it again and fell in love with it completely, its my go to album to release my stress and reminisce on my dad and the good times we had listening to this album. Thank you dad for giveing me my love for music.
Thank you Dad for introducing me to pink floyd since I was a child. Now at 37 years old, I still listen to pink. As you have already left this earth and mother and now in your deep rest, just pink floyd to remember the good times we had as a family, I hope to see you again one day.
I tell you this because I know. I died for a brief several minutes after a very bad construction accident that was no fault of mine. During my journey after being clinically Dead, I was able to talk with my Father and mother and received much needed encouragement. The kicker? My father and mother died several years passed! ❤ You will be with family again... Peace..... Out ...
Pink floyd is one of the greatest bands that will never be forgotten, ever. No band will ever be able to have the talent that the floyd boys had, ever.
Imagine that .... Alive when the ORIGINAL album was released .... and 50 years later, I'm still here for this release. I am humbled and have been blessed!
I'm like you; 'cept. I have a step-son that stole this and a lot of other records from groups and solo singers. Others like original Honkey Chateau by none other than Elton John. I used to listen to Pink Floyd and loved it. Do still; but get MAD when I realize what that whimp did.
As a Sabbath/Zeppelin/Deep Purple rocker kid of the 70's, this is the album opened up my soul. To this day, it is still a life changing experience to listen to it...over, and over...and over again. In fact, my father, an avid Jazz audiophile, asked me to bring this album out to the living room so he could listen to it. After he heard "Great Gig in the Sky", he looked at me and said, "Play that when I die".
Pink Floyd was a game changer for me. When I first heard this album I didn't understand, I liked The Wall etc. But the more I listened I came to love earlier PF 1967-1975, especially this album. Honestly it's the best album ever made
Yo también deseo eso, a la hora de mi muerte mi hijo mayor tiene instrucciones de colocar esa canción. Me parece una perfecta canción para trascender del plano material al espiritual.
I’ve been listening to this album for 50 years. The musical chemistry and creative genius reached in this masterpiece rivals anything the brilliant Beatles achieved. We are so privileged to have the gift of hearing it.
I am from Cameroon West Africa, i came across this timesless piece from a few movies watched. I added the album on my spotify playlist since then, it has been a life changing experience. listening to this album is soothing to the mind i can't find words to describe it but, it is fanastic.
You don't listen to a song of this you listen to the album its like its one continuos song they blend together so well. This would have to be one of the best constructed albums of all time.
I bet no one will even read this, but this album means so incredibly much to me. I listened to this contantly during 2017, a very transitional peroid in my life. I was lonely, not happy at all, but somehow still hopeful... At the time of writing this, ca 7 years later, I'm genuinely content with my life. I'm not entirely sure it has anthing to do with this album, but somehow I attribute my current situation partly to the impact this album had on me during that difficult time. Thank you for reading :)
Man, you know your art of rhetorics, don't you? You start the speech with "I bet no one will even read this" and then thank for reading. What an absolute chad
60 in 4 months - Same. Got to see Roger Waters in Perth, W.A. on the 9th of Feb 2007. Had the sweet spot in front of the mixing desk. THE loudest, clearest and BEST concert i have EVER been to. Still brings a smile to my face. Best music EVER!
I'm 74, my granddaughter and her two children live with me, what joy I have with all of them. My mom had to work back in the 50's, so my grandparents stepped in and took care of me until I was old enough to be a latch key kid. I have helped both my daughters with their children, and have been blessed so much. I can't imagine any thing better than being with family.
In a span of 1.5 weeks I have lost my Mom and now my Brother. I am the only one left as Dad passed away 2 years ago. Thank you for uploading this - my Brother and I had the same affinity for great music…and it doesn’t get much better than this. God bless you all and to my brother Guy, I will see you on the dark side of the moon…
I'm sorry for your loss. We honor our loved ones and their lost years if they died too soon by living the years we have left to the fullest. I wish you lot's of strength! ❤
This album has come a long way with me. It played on loop for me all through high school. It was the first music I played for my first son when he was first born. It was the soundtrack to the acid trip that lead to me getting into my most lucrative career path, and then the soundtrack to the trip that showed me I had to leave that company and change fields entirely. I was listening to this today while watching my youngest son playing in the yard, exploring the flowers in the grass. This is what living sounds and feels like. Not existing, living a life full of journeys, and wonderful things, and turmoil, and love, and all of the emotions that make life worth seeing out. It reminds me about all of the things in the world that truly matter and allows me to simply ignore everything that doesn't. Heavy.
True buddy... Seems so much like how i feel too. 56 now and have been listening to this since i was 13 and i thank God/ Universe for this divine music that has been part of my everyday journey thru life!!
@@aymanfayad4171 I used to be an operation manager for a logistics company that I won't name, but the initials are F and E. After a couple years there my psyche had been completely shot, ever rising expectations, no qualifications of success, only failure states. I decided to start building houses, I now make slightly more an hour but lower take home, but that's because I'm no longer working 70-90 hour weeks and my mental stability is significantly improved, I no longer wake up in a bed filled with beer bottles most mornings, so that's at least a few steps the right direction, I'd say. Thanks for the questions and likes, I didn't think anyone would actually read my life story. It means a lot to me.
I was in my last year in High School when I got this album here in South Africa and still enjoy this good shit. I'm 68 now and still love listening to it when I go for a ride on my 600 Honda thumper down the east coast of South Africa. Our winters are like most countries' summer. Pink Floyd is awesome.....
A small room-sized computer could create absolutely any sound back in the 60s already, and their interfaces were alright. Hence yr feeling of freshness
I was drafted in 1972 and Pink Floyd has been part of my life since the band started playing. I was over in germany when the wall came down and The Wall was played during that time. Life is a trip!
My dad Named me after Pink Floyd he loved them that much. Died when i was very young, i like to think when i listen to this album i connect with him and who he was ❤
You know an album is good when you immediately go to the comments and say how old you are. I'm turning 61. This album is part of my DNA at this point. It permeates my thinking on a daily basis.
Gehoor hierdie album in Februarie van twintig sestien waar gebruik om te lewe en geskenk geskenk aan my gegee en ek is onskuldig en niemand kan dit steel van my.
At 17, I lost my dad, one of Pink Floyd’s biggest fans, at 18, I got the Dark Side of The Moon logo tattooed on my forearm in memory of him and finally, at 19, I am currently singing the whole album to my 3 month old son who already loves their music and it instantly calms him down.
At 65, This is still my go to Album. I've listened to this Album at least monthly for 50 years. And often play along with it on the piano. Greatest Album of all time!!
Pink Floyd's music got me through the darkest moments of my life ❤️ I am forever grateful and I wish the current musicians of our modern times would take a moment to sit back and absorb the deep messages left for us by these talented and knowledgeable musicians like Pink Floyd 🎶❤🖤❤️🎶 All we can do is listen and learn from those that came before us!
When I was young in my room I had an easy chair and a pair of headphones and this would transport me everywhere. Lost without stereo with headphones this had amazing things happening all over the brain. Please listen to original vinyl with headphones if you can!
Thats very true, I never listened to it on youtube because of that
👏👏👏👏👏
And now will be interesting that could share here the 5.1 or quadrophonic (this one made by Alan Parson) mix.
Back in the day we had to flip the album. And then there was the spot in the middle of songs when the 8 track player I had in my car switched tracks!
Agree
I played this for my dad as he was passing away. It was just him and i in the hospital room and he was at that stage where there were no more words that could be spoken. All i could think to do is play some of his favorite albums for him, with him, one last time while i held his hand. I miss that man so much. This album will always remind me of him.
If my loved ones played this as I slipped away , then I would be be the happiest dying soul. Take care and comfort,, you are loved
Great gig in the sky😢
Yep, I'm down for The Great Gig in the Sky, what else do you want. PEACE TO YOU ALL MY FRIEND'S. ✌️😎🏴
A great memory lane Donny best wishes

Naa.. ten years after... A space in time
We still have my parent’s record and I love to hear the pops and crackles where they belong.
LSD made it a whole new experience

Sorry that you lost your love of your life. I've noticed that this album has a lot of death connected to it. I don't mean in a bad way but so many commenters mention the loss of a beloved person. Maybe it's because this album transports us into that realm where people pass over to the other side.

Rest in peace❤️

This album was released on this day, March 1, 1973 … 51 years ago. I was 18 and about to graduate high school in Iowa. It was life altering, especially the song ‘Time’ … the lyrics,
“And then one day you find

I'm glad I was.
A world upside down is ripe for a positive change. Glad you made it through buddy.

Thank you Pink Floyd.
is it still moving at 68😛

This album means a lot to many people for different reasons. It's a classic. I will visit Floyd until I die.
I keep listening to this masterpiece for 50 years, it hasn't aged, I'm always discovering new nuances and new sounds, there seems to be an intrinsic magic in these sounds. Eternal masterpiece.

❤God Bless You!❤
I was at that concert as well! They played two nights in a row. Amazing one of a kind experience!
The transition between brain damage and eclipse is so magical. Best album of all time
i'm with you there goosebumps every time 🙃
Born in 1980, I grew up listening what my parents were listening.
PINK FLOYD.
Lost my father in 2006. Honey I'd love to tell you it gets easier but I can't. On the positive side, he's only a thought away... blessings to you 💜
El ALBUM es MAGICO . SIN mas que decir agradezco a este maravilloso grupo de musicos que alteraron mis sentidos para siempre !!!!
It's my story too.
He's not gone. He just moved on. Don't waste a minute mourning. He gave you all the tools you need to thrive and create the path for your kids.
See you on the dark side of the moon
Very Well Said!
I would change years to come to Forever
would not get into GOAT , or dubious comparisons, American jazz and much more with more virtuousity and timelessness

My friend introduced me to The Pink Floyd as a young teenager with this album and I've been hooked ever since. I own every Pink Floyd and the late great Syd Barrett albums. Greatest Band Ever!

So much love to Claire Tory.
Thank you Pink Floyd.

I'm not gonna lie, Clare Torry still gives me chills every time I hear her. This album would not be THIS ALBUM without her contribution.
1st I've heard this album since I was a teenager. Now 65 it still rocks just as much! Thanks guys for a lifetime memory!
i think I was 15 when this album was released. Tripping music but no drugs are really required. A good pair of headphones and your journey begins. An amazing piece of craftsmanship and they had only just begun. Awesome talent and extreme memories. Thanks so much guys! A big part of my life. Congrats on both of your careers. Have a cigar..

My pops introduced me to The Floyd in 86 w/ this album. I’m 45 now and it’s still fresh to me.
Me too, I'm 65 now
Same here. I got this album in 73. Was 17. Am now 68 and love it as much as I did 50 years ago.❤❤
Wish you long, healthy and happy life
I'm like you; 'cept.

Honestly it's the best album ever made
Love those bands and STV! But your right. Timeless album

Heavy.
