The amount of people I encounter who've never even heard of any title before New Horizons is surprising. It certainly has expanded the fanbase massively. I've been with the series since 2009 on the original Gamecube release.
Funny to consider a series that got a bad hand dealt to it on initial release, its original intended platform, the Nintendo 64 DD, dying on the vine before it could release, somehow managed to jujitsu turn that luck around into becoming one of Nintendo's biggest and most profitable franchises thanks to a bad case of Chinese Flu.

5:25 It's actually interesting how the name for Thanksgiving on Animal Crossing is "Harvest festival". In the UK, we actually have a holiday called the "Harvest festival", though it's mainly just celebrated in primary schools and I never bothered to learn the date because of that. Basically, you'd bring in tinned food, which would go to people who can't afford food.
I can't say I ever expected a mention of the original Persona 1 and the localized version in an Animal Crossing video, but I'm definitely not complaining x3.

Hi Kiro, it's me again. I'll (try) make this a short one since I don't really have much to say. Once again, great video. You really did your research and went in full depth of the history of Animal Crossing. I learned a lot from this video, and was very interested through out the entirety. Another good job done by you.
Also I know I made suggestions in my last comment (which btw HUGE thank you for replying to it. I honestly can not wait until those videos to come out), and I know the comment section is already giving out suggestions; but I got a really interesting idea. I was wondering if you can take a deep dive into all Sonic comics. And I mean REALLY deep dive, into all of the histories, stories, sagas, arcs, lore, worldbuilding, characters, people behind them, etc; but it would be just boring to cram them into a 20 min video. And I mean all of the comics, Archie, Fleetway, the manga, that one weird French comic, and the recent IDW. I know you're taking a break from Sonic, which I highly respect; but this just seems like a cool idea, and I know you still love the blue blur. And if you do, take your time with it; because this likely will be an hour long video lol. But hey, I'll stop the suggestions now. Because I fear that I might bombard you with these, making you worry by having a lot on your list. I clearly don't want that to happen. Do what you want; but take this idea in your head.

On topic, I've never gotten into Animal Crossing so I always feel like I've missed out every time. This made me excited to jump in now that I finally have my own income and I hope it's as fun as everyone makes it seem. This vid definitely convinced me of that lol
I know this is a strange request but you could do a video in the sly the copper series it isn't very famous but it's very interisting and I would love to see you doing a video about it
I'm not super familiar with the series, but it looks fun, so I'll give the games a shot one of these days. I can't promise a video but it's not impossible!
I wish Sly were more well-known, I grew up with it as one of my favorite series ever and other than parts of the first game the series holds up perfectly.

I'll be very interested to see how many people return to animal crossing when we get the next game, I'm expecting a bit of a drop unless they somehow time it for the next global lockdown (jk... I hope) but I'm sure that that some of the people who started with ACNH will comeback. I am convinced that the reason that new content dried up for ACNH is because Nintendo have them beavering away at the next entry in the AC series, probably as a early or maybe even launch title for the Switch 2
A lot of people would've been introduced to Animal Crossing through New Horizons, so I expect the sales of the next game to be just as many.
It had perfect timing last official game did also pretty well and there was resurgence after the disappointment of amibo festival I’m guessing all those things made this happen

I personally thought that Animal Crossing was a popular franchise but super popular like Mario, now it’s one of the top popular franchises because of New Horizons
When it comes to the beginning of the pandemic and well still pretty much how things are going right now with what I still think is a pandemic it's not so big now but there still are people getting covid-19, but being that I have been working for doordash since 2018, well during the pandemic I actually benefit a lot and unfortunately I made the dumb mistake of in fact losing my first Nintendo switch which I had bought in November of 2018 and lost at some point in 2019 I forget when I didn't really have the chance to go play animal crossing. I would finally replace my switch in summer of 2020 at a GameStop that had just opened back up as it was closed down as the result of the pandemic closing down the entire mall that was in so the timing was right and there was a switch available and I had the money for it so I was able to buy and replace my switch but basically my focus was to just replace the games I played the most which were Super smash Bros ultimate and Super Mario Maker 2 and puyo puyo Tetris. There still are games that I played on my original switch that I actually still have not bought again on my second switch that I still have to this day. But there are a bunch of other games I've gotten that have been released since. Actually one game I miss is Pokemon shield. That was on my first switch and I never actually replaced it although I really wish I should have now that there's a now a new Pokemon game.
So bottom line because of my job with doordash I actually was out working a lot more during the pandemic because a lot more people were staying at home ordering delivery and I was making a lot more money. Actually I kind of make more now than I did at the time as I've been learning how to better work the job but still I've actually benefit from the pandemic fortunately. And no I never even got covid despite being out there and going to many public places for my job
That sucks to hear you lost your Switch. Fortunately, I never lost a game console, buuuuut I have had a few systems break...I'm glad you're doing better now, be safe out there.

It really sucks that New Horizons was given the opportunity to be the best animal crossing in all regards. And they just handled the villagers SO POORLY, I don't even talk with them, they just tell me to leave them alone

Here’s what I have to say about New Horizons, you aren’t the god, you’re supposed to take part in the actions and actually do something with your villagers, not just change the island to your likings (I get it, all these islands are cool and all..), you should relax, talk to villagers (even if dialogue is horrible.), have a good time. The game feels like a chore now because of the fact that you're treating it like one. It's supposed to replicate real life in a way, in real life, are you getting rid of people and hitting them with axes, nets, etc? No.
