Thankyou. I’m kind of nervous as they can make interview questions not worth asking sometimes, but I’m learning as long as you keep the answer positive, it will be hard for them not to hire you, or say I don’t have an answer for that.
When Fedex exp hired me in Dec 2018 (Queens, NY) I had no ID, no uniforms, no pickup route yet. 🤨I was doing evening deliveries wearing my old medical scrubs, Customers were confused🤣
I am currently in the onboarding process. This video is very accurate. I luckily applied on a Wednesday and they were interviewing on a Friday. They did a MVR check and background check. That Monday after everything came back good the operations manager called and confirmed everything. I did my drug screen on a Wed. and by that next Wednesday I was contacted to start the training videos. I now the timeliness from here and I will have an idea of how it works. My location here in NC has a driver trainer that comes to our location and does our on the road training. I am excited and think it is a great opportunity for advancement. Thats fast so two days after you applied you got an interview and a job after your backround check. This was for FedEx Express as a driver right.

asked me the same questions except the one with the time you went beyond to help a customer cant even remember what the question was. Walked in did the interview walked out 2 hours later got a message saying you are hired. You get hired based on a score how well you answer the questions. They say there is no right or wrong answers but it applies to your hiring process. Next step was to fill out my social , date of birth online, then dot test.
I had an interview, went to DOT physical didn’t pass pee because I had blood in my pee. They want me to go see my doctor getting it checked. But they already sent me a job offer why?

I’m currently Amazon delivery driver and I saw FedEx express hiring just across the street from Amazon warehouse. Lol hopefully I can get in FedEx. Hope the pay rate starts in $20 in FedEx coz us in Amazon is only $18.50 and I’m driving box truck and get paid the same with new hired drivers.

Hey do FedEx express drivers use Roadwarrior or GPS apps? The LEOs don’t have gps and it’s not easy relying on maps to get to know all the areas especially being swing drivers
unfortunately they dont use any gps apps. i always just use the maps on my iphone and over time start learning the streets.
Is this still accurate? They don’t have a specific gps? We have to type in the address ourselves?

I just had an interview yesterday Tuesday, May 3rd 2021 with FedEx Express. They asked the same questions in your video. They said the process can take 1-2weeks or longer that they'll have to send the notes to the recruiter and will send a offer letter. Will the offer letter be E-mail or will they send in the mail? I used to be a driver for UPS delivering packages driving box trucks, vans even longer trucks I didn't even know UPS had. With UPS I also went to the school and passed. Will FedEx Do the same sending having schooling?
Very cool sounds like you did really well so congrats on your interview. They will probably send it through email or they will send it to your account where you applied. Fedex will train you on how to drive the trucks its more of a training day behind the wheel and walking you through everything.

Hello it takes about a week. If its been a while feel free to call a manager and ask you like an update. it took me almost a month to get a call for orientation had to call to check in 3 times.

No problem my pleasure. Thanks for watching! I appreciate it! The training is done by FedEx. they have certain drivers they certify for training specifically. As far as them having to hire a certain number of people internal I'm not sure on that, haven't heard of anything like that.
Fed ex even started sending the fed ex ground drivers to their driving school

The hours vary, your start time will pretty much stay consistent but your end time will all depend on how busy it is and how fast you deliver your packages. you should expect to hear back from them within 1-2 weeks. I got an email in a week and a half. Thank you for the question!

How far do you usually have to drive on the job? Do you have to drive the routes they give you? Also, do they usually hire a lot of college students?
It really all depends. when hired, you will be assigned to what they call a loop. A loop consisted of 3-5 cities. so each day you'll be somewhere within those cities, either helping existing routes or covering a route from someone who may have called out. As far as i know they hire anyone as long as you have customer service background
How often will a driver encounter a vicious dog?

I would honestly just make something up , or if you haven't experienced in a work place then think about a time during school, on a project /sports/club

I spoke to Fed ex express person they informed me that they get paid time in half if they work over 8 hours per day .. plus time in a half for past 40 hours a week is that true ?
You do get paid your OT when you work over 8 hours per day which is time and a half and you also get paid overtime when you come in on your scheduled day off. so if your M-F but you come in on Saturday it will be all OT

I'm Driving a van. You just need your regular class C to be a courier
Hi. Do you still work at express? Can you elaborate more on defensive driving and road test? How much time do you get to practice? Do you practice inside the warehouse with cones or do you go out on the road too? Is the road test with cones only or do you drive on the street and highway? Is the road test conducted by the trainer or someone else watches you? My HR manager said ill be starting defensive driving on Monday and I am nervous because i have only driven a mazda3 and dont have experience. Im not even sure I can back up serpentine style in my mazda3 so i dont know i will do it with the stepvan.
so you will be partnered with one of the trainers at fedex which is basically another courier driver who has been certified to train you and test you. you will be doing everything at the location in the warehouse with cones. After you do your test in the warehouse they will take you on the road similar to like a driver license test just to see if your not a crazy driver. they will be looking for a few things for ex. checking your mirrors, staying at least 2 car spaces away from car in front of you, and making sure you are paying attention to civilians walking. They will show you and explain to you exactly what to do and how to use your mirrors, when to turn your wheels. etc. you can practice with them as many times as you like but once you say your ready that pass will be the one they test you on and they cannot help you. its alot scarier then it seems. my advice to you is just pay attention to what they are telling you ask question and take your time!! it is not a race. i had no experience driving anything bigger then a mini van i did fine.

My background check took 1 week. I just got a call to come in tomorrow for 2-3 hours to do paperwork. He said day 2 will be 3 hours and day 3 will be longer at 8 hours.

The benefits from what i remember were pretty good above average cost wasn't to bad either , but im sure this various depending where your located

This is exactly how is going lol, im waiting for the call back. I already went to the clinic and got the certificate. Im anxious, been waiting for a week now. I dont have their number. I dont know what to do.
Id say give it another week or two. if you dont hear back you can call them if they have a customer service number at that station and ask for the manager you interview with.

For a Courier you do not need a CDL just class C.
15-20 pounds for express. 100-150 for ground LOL. anything over 20 lbs for express is mad expensive

Great Company! Only company I know to offer "full time benefits" on a part time Job!
UPS does but it's a terrible place to work for. Very inefficient place. It will for sure hit a wall once amazon picks up more volume.

Full or part time ups , fedex or amazon driver. Which one you would choose ?
@@nycas2192 check Amazon. After a year they have a ton of options. One of these is paid CDL training. If you don’t want to wait. A CDL school that will pay for your training however most likely a contact for a year driving for them.
For the package cars at UPS,Amazon or FedEx. These don’t require CDLs.
I am part time at Express with full time hours without full time benifits. Medical/vacation/sick pay is all part time.
@@nycas2192 Fed ex ground part time package handler employees get medical dental and vision after 90 days and pto vacation time 40 hrs.and college tuition 5,300 or so.
Is a non dot courier just drive vans only? You don’t drive the box trucks?
As far as i know if you are non DOT you cant drive the longer white fedex box trucks but im not sure exactly why or what determines what you can and cannot drive.

I believe every year as the cost of living goes up your pay increases. they offer bonuses at the end of the year as well.

@@donla22883 ok so the last question would be "tell me about a time were you were in a stressful situation and how did you handle it?" so basically what the employer is trying to figure out is if you can handle stress and if you can, what's your process to deal with it and keep moving forward. depending on your work experience you can something like...…Ex. "at my previous employer XYZ working in a call center we would deal with high volumes of calls daily it can get very stressful....(and then talk about how you over came it)…even though it gets stressful I remained focused and kept the company's goal at the forefront of my mind"

This must be post covid hiring process. 5 years ago they sent new hires to courier school for a week. Mine was in Dallas. They send you with an $1,800 check and trust you to be responsible with it lol.

@@jason___4010 it was for all the expenses that you have to pay to travel, hotel and food for a week. Used mine for a Texas rangers game and hurricane harbor lol. You have to show receipts of everything though and pay back what you used for personal use.
So, I had my interview last Wednesday and I thought I did well because I have 2 years of Amazon experience so the questions were easy to answer. He mentioned they were hiring a bunch of drivers, but he didn't say I had the job at the interview or send me to take a drug test. He looked at my drivers license and social security card and then said "look for something in 2-3 weeks" I hope that isn't a rejection email. LOL What do you think?

@@gandhigermain8474 Yeah, worked there 2 months and didn't like it all all. Unorganized, bad technology, 1030 commit times, 75 percent of the route were businesses that need signatures, and as an added bonus I gained all my weight back I lost at Amazon. I'm headed back to Amazon and will do Doordash on the side. Only regret is not getting those benefits, but at the end of the day I was happier at Amazon. Listen to my earphones, drop the package and go, just chill.

@@MegaDarkBubbles I’m on now, been here since August. Took me 6 weeks to get in the door after I did the Medical they sent me to. I have a very easy route here, about 20-30 deliveries and 20ish pickups a day… everyone complains here but ground was 1000x harder and worse. Now I deliver mostly envelopes and stuff around 10-15 pounds… if you don’t mind working at night chose the 2nd wave at express… pickup routes like I have are sooo easy compared to doing a 100+ deliveries in the am routes.
Also my station pretty short staffed so I can get 10-12+ hours a day if I chose. I can take home some good $ at times
@@brandonburnie7067 I have 170 stops rn and 1 pick up at ground. I talked to a express guy while on route and he gave me a number for a interview. He told me the grass is wayyyyy greener at express. I done the interview today but I’m just hoping me being a driver at ground gives me a better chance of getting hired. After seeing how express is I’m dread going in for ground but I’m glad it worked out for u!
Hey! I just got an email saying congratulations on your offer. I accepted the offer and did the remaining task. however, my application status says "under consideration" does this mean i didnt get the job? im confused because i received a statement saying i got the job. should i call them? it's been a week since my interview, and i received the letter last week

@@bicyclekikz14 it was a bit different for me. I got offered the job right after my interview and was told to go do drug test same day. They most likely already ran your background and you will most likely be told to take a drug test after you start. If your not a DOT driver then you wont need a physical

It took almost a month to get called back. That was only due to an issue with paper work from when i went for a physical. I heard from others who got hired around the same time they got called back within 1-2 weeks after interview.

For me I filled out paper work during my orientation. first day was 4 hours basically just slide show and paperwork. I assume every one will do it different.

They hired me right on the spot after my interview but I assume you can expect to hear back within a week or two. Dont be afraid to call if you hear nothing.

really depends on the state. In California i see 19-21 starting pay per hour

All of your stops will be plotted on a map on the hand held device you will use. as far as turn by turn directions unfortunately it wont do that.
So I got a interview with FedEx express next week for the casual courier non DOT position. Is it worth it?
Congrats! well it depends what your looking for. if your looking for a set schedule typical 9-5 id say its not worth it. youll be getting off different times working different amount of hours.

Two companies: FedEx Express (best) or FedEx Ground? Yes, definitely call back. Years ago, when I was there, I recommended someone, he called every week for 4 months until they finally hired him. He turned out to be a very good employee.
This is so misleading. I own several FedEx route businesses and the amount of vacation, benefits provided is dependent on who you work for. There are multiple owners in one terminal and each owner determines pay, benefits, vacation, etc for their business. One owner can pay $250.00 per day and in the same terminal, another owner can pay $175.00 per day. One owner can be Ivan the Horrible and the other owner can be the world’s greatest boss. If you are a driver, you should know this.
That's fedex ground my guy express is actually fedex, ground is contractors that pay per day or stop
