    I’ve work 14 to 15 hour shifts in a kitchen. I’m just so happy to be getting out of that environment. Anthony bourdain was right, if u have a passion for cooking and wanna do it for a living. Get hired at a busy and shitty restaurant, if you still have that passion after after a couple of years, then it’s for you.

      You will hate it trust me. Most frustrating, overworked, unrewarding job on this planet earth. No cap!! The contractor will make sure you are mentally drained and physically disabled by the end of every shift!! I promise you that. They will also give you the shittiest route since you’re new. They’ll give you a route into the heart of downtown city. Your route will probably consist of more businesses than residential stops. Which means you will have to fight for parking with other customers with your gigantic truck. That itself kills time and your boss will pressure tf out if you. I was thrown 300 packages everyday. The most I’ve ever done was 345. Plus, peak season is going to suck the soul out of you. You will feel the utmost defeatness a human being has ever felt. If that’s even a word. Oh yeah and you’ll do pick ups. That’s the worse!! Pick ups can range from 100-1000 packages to pick up. On top of delivering your 345 packages. I quit after a month 💀😂 don’t do FedEx ground 🚫

    I love working for Fed Ex Express. I work part time and have my own afternoon pickup route. I can work full time if I want to as well just by initializing a sheet before the schedule is made. But I also do many other things to make money so the part time afternoon shift is perfect. Christmas Holiday season I work exclusively full time. What he said about the vacay was not accurate for me at my station. I took my first vacation set while I was still in year one. In conclusion, Fed Ex was supposed to be an "in-betweener" for me but I love it so much I have been there for 2 years. One last thing, you can be a part-timer and still get all the benefits.

      The only good thing about express is the benefits. As far as pay goes us ground drivers get paid more and don't have to wait around for annual raises. We're contracted. Your guys are corporate and follow major guidelines and company policies. While we operate more freely and independently and only have to answer to our contractor. I've been a driver for almost 3 years now. I get paid salary and take home much more than an express driver who's been a driver for 5 years in the company. You guys get a 3 percent raise every year. That's legit 50 cents a year. But Hey at the end of the day. We all work just as hard and go through the same shit.

    • @user-ub8uc8gq7r
      @user-ub8uc8gq7r 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Big difference! Depending on what location warehouse you’re at and what city. That determines your pay scale. I used to work at the one in Seattle. Drivers made anywhere from 30-33 an hour. Some of us drivers were making anywhere from 1000-1300 every week! We also had the option of working 6 days too. But also depending on which contract. Some contractors pay by the hour while others pay strictly by the stops.

Last week I worked 3 days, 12 hour shifts plus my 2 days doing my pickup route, I guess it depends on location, but where I'm at if you want to work, you get the hours, full time or part time. Only difference is the benefits you get, and the ability to have your own route.

So at part time all my vacation/sick pay I only get half time pay....And it's a joke that I have to get the license with the endorsement just for full time pay/benifits. The schedule is ridiculous reguarding start times, and when freight arrives. We have had late freight for almost a year...The corporation on a country level is a joke, and as far as harassment and verbal abuse it is, "accept it." Us managers also come out on the roads to bring our guys and girls stuff like extra ice and waters and snack if they don’t have anything on them specially during the summer we take care of our workers cuz we know how hard it gets out there.
