    What's worse, someone fist pumping and then calling your all-in? Or someone doing a whole speech and showing the nuts?

    • @BT-vv1il
      @BT-vv1il ปีที่แล้ว

      Whole speech and showing the nuts. At least the fist pump is a show of emotion and excitement, and I can’t fault them especially if it’s for a huge pot in a tournament. To give a speech and then show the nuts is literally just being an asshole for no reason

      idont know lex, maybe this is an edit or whatever, but in this video as soon as you say i have a set, he goes and says i have the nuts and then he goes on with the speech, and to answer your question ya the latter is definitely more tilting :D

    I think the coolest part of this series is showing how much a poker pro back then really understood. Lex was a familiar face but did not have star power or recognition like Dnegs or tony G or PH you know the MASSIVE stars of poker. So in a way players like Lex, were sort of the supporting actors of the poker drama tv show back then. Its cool to see just how prepared they were (or werent) to be playing in these big TV games.

    Lex you make it all look so easy, I'm not even talking about the poker, the way you tell back stories and your camera presence is perfect. I watch and think maybe I could do what Lex is doing then reality hits me in the face and I know I would be terrible at this. I'm not even f ing around, you should host some ESPN show, maybe you had offers and you said no but I really think you would kill in any on camera hosting.

    That bankroll think is too true. When i was moving up stakes too fast i started missing good bluffing spots/ over calling. Too scared to lose a buy in/ bigger pots was holding back my winrate. (Not true on your case though :D). Super cool to hear more of those behind the scene stories, it makes these hands even more interesting! Also a question about Learn with Lex, are you only going to do tournaments? As a cash game player, would be cool to see some cash game ones aswell :)

    Also, even though you lost a lot on that trip, I think there was value in getting more TV time, more exposure, building your brand (although I hate that term, but that's the reality). Imo, poker players tend to watch content from other poker players that they like. At least I do. You came across well on these appearances, not flashy or pretentious, just a normal guy trying to win at poker. I would guess it helped grow your followers later on TH-cam from people like me, who remember those appearances and thought you were a good player and a likable guy.
