    I like the format but i really disagree about the flatcalling KK that needs protection in comparison to AA that can be flat there sometimes. You can see the same thing in gtowizard or any sim where we flat a 4b a lot of AA in position especially ( i suggest even OOP since you can strengthen your calling range ) . If you push out with KK some AK and some QQ/JJ you don't mind since especially AK has decent equity, but with AA the reverse is true.

      @@simoneggler5184 Eh, those high roller events are statistically a lot easier to win than the fields that Hellmuth plays. Yes the average player is better, but the tiny fields can allow things like what happened to Negreanu, blown out all summer (a lot of it run bad) and then win a 30 person field and talk about owning the world again! Those giant buys in are a bit incestuous in that the same players are all backed by the same people and they are just spreading around money. Yes, some are winners, some are losers, but they all are just trying to add $10 million to their tournament winnings while not actually making much, if any, money.

    • @simoneggler5184
      @simoneggler5184 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stevenloube6784 when you are not good enough in the high roller events than you win statisticly these by around zero procent.
      The last triton main event (100k buy in) had way more then 100 entrys.
      Around like 140 entrys I think ..
      You will never see hellmuth in these events.
      There are also WSOP bracellet events that are high roller as well.
      250k buy in for example.
      Hellmuth doesn't enter in these events aswell.
      I agree.
      he targets the smaller field WSOP events for bracellets.
      For example the H.O.R.S.E or dealer choice or stud or whatever.
      That does say actually alot about his skill level.
      He is more likely to add another bracellet to his all time record.
      I don't think by the way that negreanu (correct?) Is one of the best players.
      Good Players would be for example:
      Tan Xuan, Stephen Chidwick, Thimothy Adams or Fedor Holz.

    4:25 is the ultimate display of why Phil gets made fun of so much. It's really not just the blow-ups, that does not help, it the excessive pridefulness and I am smart than you mentality when really, no he isn't.
    He just folded the AK he could have got off with being told it was a bad move, but the point fuck all the way off. When you have years of similar or worst mistakes, it makes some people question the value of WSOP bracelets, which is not fair. Probably the greatest moment for anyone to watch is during the Hustler the Casino Streamer live stream with Ludwig and Mr. Beast. Towards the end, Phil has to call a All-in Pre-Flop AJs against a short stack, and Mr.Beast and a bunch of the streamers are chanting at him to not be a pussy and Call. He folds the best hand preflop and 5 bricks run out.

    awesome video but i would've liked to hear you talk more about the exploitative side in these hands.
    Regarding the KTo hand in particular - obviously the turn lead is bad from a logical and theoretical standpoint. But JR and Keating aren't pros, I don't think they're good enough to be thinking on a high level about Phil's range and how it doesn't contain strong hands. So I think that discussing theory and range construction isn't very relevant. Is there any merit to leading turn here just to set your own price to draw (or for other exploitative reasons)? I still think it's a bad play exploitatively, but would like to hear your thoughts

    I think its interesting that even if Hellmuth had A10 instead of K10 in that hand, it doesn't change that much. Turn hes either way ahead or way behind instead of drawing to nuts, and river, he's only beating the same bluffs (missed clubs) and losing to every value bet. Maybe he's beating some random 89 or QJ that villain decides to turn into a bluff but generally unlikely given play on earlier streets.

    Love the Lex Reflects videos! I do think it's important to note that Hellmuth did make Kmart whole after this. He apologized, paid Kevin for his lost travel funds and said they would meet up some time soon. Classy move by Phil after having a(n understandable) meltdown in the game. Keep it up with these awesome Reflects vids, Lex!

    On the AK hand Helmuth was 750BB deep vs the guy with TT and 1400BB deep vs Keating. Genuinely hard to play well at these stack depths. That's why Keating can VPIP a lot as well.

      It isn’t that hard to play tbh. Much harder but the basic summary is play more speculative hands pre and probable call a lot more than raising without the nuts

    • @jppagetoo
      @jppagetoo ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rossa7226 Harder to play? Yes and no. It harder to play if you can't take a wide variance. This deep stacked you are going to be up and down huge amounts. It's still the same game, make reads and play smart. Phil tilts way too easily with big losses, that is why he struggles in cash games so much. Eric Hicks is a good deep stack cash player, Phil was not.

    • @rossa7226
      @rossa7226 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jppagetoo yeah I agree, it’s harder to play if you aren’t good at cash games and don’t understand how the amount of bbs effective affects relative hand strength etc. but it’s also why garrett etc crush them because it’s easier to leverage people who cap their ranges pre flop.

      Don't think it's his own money to be honest,he has a lot of sponsorships who get advertising from his blow ups on TV because millions of people watch them.if you notice hes always covered in names of casinos or tournaments.its not a coincidence and I'd say he gets put into these games just for publicity when he tilts

    Phil is all about small ball short stack poker. Folding AK vs JR and Keating is insane. It feels like he is waiting for the nuts to cooler these recreational players but that is a bad way of thinking. You have to get involved in pots..not play scared money.
