      I have thought about this, I would play tight but trappy but also add in a few re-raise bluffs with boards that suit my range as the pro would never expect it without a huge hand. Playing tight continuously is a huge mistake as you will never get paid for your big hands and will continuously get run over when they read you as weak

    • @bh4462
      @bh4462 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Try to look like a tight passive player while actually playing like a tight aggressive player. Check-call and check-raise, and generally have a varied game that is hard to narrow down that makes it look like I don't know what I'm doing while actually having a game plan in mind. If I'm winning at showdown a lot I'll adjust to bluff more. Maybe toss in a limp-reraise.

    I’m watching the first hand, I think you may have QT with the ten of hearts, or something like A9 off with the Ace of hearts, I think QT off is more likely with the ten of heats and continuing on the river to get vale from other Qx holdings holding a heart. Of course there’s other hands in your range but that is my first read

    • @LexVeldhuisTV
      @LexVeldhuisTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      QTo A9o both don't call the small blind very often. I would prefer to 3b especially with Bonomo in the big blind. Most hands with Q + a heart I'm not betting on the river but decide to bluffcatch or not

  • @bobbywhite1645
    @bobbywhite1645 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Responding per your request hope this thought process is ok:
    I'm calling 28k against someone who is very aggro because I think they have a lot of Ax with the A of hearts and at this point its 28k into 56. I don't think I get to this river holding JJ though I honestly probably fold the flop even though I know thats nitty I don't want to go to war with 2 good pros with middle pair+J high flush draw even in position
    AAAAND I'd lose the max nice hand Lex

    • @LexVeldhuisTV

      I like the idea of flop fold. I just don't have many Ahx hands except AQ, AJ AT.

    • @bobbywhite1645
      @bobbywhite1645 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LexVeldhuisTV thanks for responding! The reason I gave you more Ahx is because you just cold called the cannon pre and I assumed you were looking to play a lot of flops with him so maybe had a supremely wide calling range that included more A high. Then thinking maybe sometimes you were just trying to get a fold on the river. Looking back and discounting Ahx I suppose I'm just calling hoping you have 66, 77, 99 and in that case should be folding a lot more for the price

    always calling because the board dynamics didnt change at all unless you had pocket 10's, no draws after the flop got there so i would say if you call the turn you have to call the river

    • @LexVeldhuisTV
      @LexVeldhuisTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's generally a very dangerous thing to do in poker. Because that implies that you have no new information. Me firing a 3rd barrel is a huge piece of information because both our ranges got a lot slimmer

    To bet all three streets in this fashion, even though the bet on the end is only half pot, you're repping at least some hand like QT with Th, but more likely a small flush. Probably have to fold this hand on the end, though it's likely we were drawing live.

    If i was loose cannon I would have folded by turn, chasing a flush thats probably no good if made/someone could have already made, second pair on a textured board where BB could easily have Qx or even 10 8o. On the river thats an easy fold, opponent leading 3 streets multiway is usually best.

    Second pair is a hand i would have folded earlier. But being in this spot on the river i guess i would call.
    My reasoning being, that i block the flush with the Jack of hearts and also the straight.
    Furthermore being the loose canon... There is a other option aswell. I dont know how much you have behind. But raising is probably even better. I can represent the Flush and straight. You might even fold a Queen if i all-in being Harlow.

      So, when you lead on a AJ6 board with K8, a player in between raises, and the canon (OF ALL PEOPLE AT THE TABLE) cold calls that raise, you'd have to be a complete idiot to not understand the CANON HAS A HAND. I would call. Bet looks like a bluff disguised as value to me. Would you really bet a Q? Js block the straight. Jh does block some of the most natural bluffs, and yes, you could have sets of Q5, Q8, or QT, but I think Js are too good to let go once you have called flop and turn. Agree that folding on the flop might have been the best thing to do, although I doubt I would have done it.

    I usually bet this high on the flop when I wanna get rid of other players quick. I think you had like QT suited and you were scared of the hearths. Maybe 2 pairs in better scenario. But at the end that smile is more likely that it was you waiting for the hearth all the time. So let me see now.

    you're comment phishing but i'll give it to you; bc you're cooler than other comment fishers. We're getting 3:1 so I start breaking it down from there. I don't think you're value betting Q9s types anymore; and I thought for a second you could have KQ+ (which I think you would take this line with) but you 3b tons of that. You never have J9 so JJ is irrelevant for a blocker there, Jh kind of is just a rough blocker in general. I guess you can have 55-22, QT/Q8s/Q5s/Q2s at a decent clip here given 50% vpip. I guess from here we just start counting flushes.. maybe somewhere in the neighborhood of 25.., so value you have 50 combos or so, we need to find 17 bluffs.. seems somewhat snappy once we get here if you're vpiping 50%

    I'd snap fold because I'd expect a bluff to be a much bigger sizing - it looks like Q8/Q10 trying to milk a call from AA/KK/AQ

    Once I’ve called flop and turn I’m probably going to call the river.

    River bet of $28k would have me folding because I'm a bitch. Probably would have folded the turn bet already, though.
    Once in a blue moon I'd also tell myself to semi bluff jam turn, but I'm glad Harlow didn't do that lmao
