A three-bet is the first re-raise made in response to an open raise. Here, the stakes are $50-$100. So the big blind (Phil here) put in a $100 bet before the hand was dealt. The UG player with 5s raised the blinds to $300. Phil then re-raised to $800 with AA. Because Phil's re-raise was the first re-raise of the initial open raise, Phil was three betting.
They confirmed immediately afterwards that this is true, but alright.

Phil is more of an old school player. Poker has changed a lot in recent years. Well the way players play has changed, they play more hands that old school players would muck. Phil is an excellent poker player. He is better at tournament play then at cash games. Phil has so many bracelets because he plays good consistently. He is emotional and thinks he is far better then everyone and it makes him look like an asshole a lot.

Phil tells this long story about how he's got everything figured out and how deep he is and so on. Someone asked Liv if it was true what Hellmuth was saying, she laughed and said 'no'. He's talking out of his ass, none of it is true, then he can't figure out how she comes up with a set. I know how, because the story he's telling is bullshit, so of course the hand doesn't end the way he expects.
After he ranted and told the same story 3 times, nobody would pay him any attention. He turned to the poor guy on his left, I heard him say, 'do you know how I did this', then he went on telling the story for the 4th time. The guy had no choice but to pretend to be paying attention.
At one point he said' I know all of this',........ then he immediately said, 'well, I'm just guessing'. Phil, knowing and guessing are far from being the same. How can he say he knows it, before taking another breath he says I'm guessing? I think he's off his rocker, poker is eating him up, he needs a break from it before they take him away in a white jacket.

I just listened to Phil Hellmuth go on for 10 minutes about how great of a poker player he is.
While simultaneously losing the hand
we've been listening to it for 10 years.
If you watch real closely, Phil always does something wild with the button or his chips when the dealer is about to deal or in the middle of dealing, and he times it perfectly with his card being dealt, plus he is often passively aggressive toward dealers after bad beats or coolers that don't go his way, like in another video I just saw where he splashed the pot by slamming his stack in an all-in. Not sure if he sometimes believes the dealer has wronged him in a rigging of some sort or he's just salty and has to take it out on someone, but just something I've noticed. He does it in a way that can't technically be considered as a reason to call for discrepancy pause at the table, but it's such horrible etiquette. I don't mind the brat-mouth, even if it's outta line, but he should be told make sure the buttons and chips remain either in his hand or on the table at all times. I think he's trying to cause a misdeal, or at the very least bully the dealer, and make it look accidental or flat out go unnoticed

The guy forgot to straddle, Phil noticed and stopped him from potentially acting on his hand and put the straddle out for him so he wouldn't act out of turn and action could continue correctly. (My original comment wasn't sarcastic, if you were thinking that)

I think most of his fellow pros just laugh it off and assume it's going to happen. Daniel Negreanu for example needles and trolls him mercilessly on purpose to get a rise out of Phil.
However, away from the table, most of the same pros say what a fun and engaging guy Phil is to be around and how they don't take offense to his rants. It's just part of who he is. They know he does it, he knows he does it. So you do what Liv did and laugh it off.

His fault with his "traps". He let her catch up. No one to blame but himself. Had aces today myself, raised, another guy behind me 3 bet and another behind him called, when it got back to me I go all in. Aces isn't always the best hand post flop. I feel like I lose more with aces than win lol.
