  • This video showcases Vladimir Gambledor Korzinin and his deep runs in 2 final tables from Triton Poker's recent series held at Monte Carlo. Vladimir Korzinin is relatively new to poker and decided to join in 6-figure buy in tournaments against the most elite poker players alive today. To say he did well would be an understatement. After this festival, Gambledore is now the winningest Estonian Poker Player, and it isn't particularly close. I hope you enjoy this wild video!

@@zackj997 Because he didn't flop king high flush? He had Kc9c and the flop came 3sQs2c. Xuan had an extremely easy decision here, he was behind every bluff other than a worse K. He had a worse flush draw (3 to an assumed 4), a worse straight draw (three to a 9->K outer vs an A->5 or 2->6 open), no pair to protect his position. He loses to any ace, any 4 to flush, any 3+ to straight w/A, any pair, etc. etc.

He's not dumb, but he doesn't overthink it. He looks like he doesn't even care, but you can still see him calculating.
It seems that he genuinely didn't care about winning, he just went "whatever happens - happens" several times, sometimes it even looked like he was trying to lose.
He's incredibly calm during these games too.
I think that was what lead to him winning - pros don't expect someone to just walk in and play for "whatever" as a result. They were overthinking his actions and gave them more meaning than he himself did

18:40 I genuinely find great wisdom in what Santa said and I think it applies to literally anything competitive. In essence he's saying you can't lose if you don't care about winning. If all you care about is winning or being better than everyone else then you are always setting yourself up for failure. It's not only unhealthy for your mind even if you win, but it's setting an unrealistic expectation. He decided to enter and just have fun with it, to do it for himself just because he can, win or lose. No anxiety no stress, he just dosent care about winning so no matter where he places he can't lose. Dude straight up said he tried to give the win to his opponent in the end and took a crazy bet. Man's just wants to enjoy life and make people happy and that took him to this first place spot with little to no experience so quickly. Granted I don't doubt the guy is also probably really smart too.

Well, I disagree with one thing. It is true that if you dont care about winning, you can’t lose. But you also can’t win, because you don’t really care. If you are hyper competitive, yes losing will destroy you, but winning is not worse than usual. It is actually the greatest thing ever. If you work hard and dedicate everything , seeing the huge pay off in the end is the greatest feeling in the world.
