over at RTING they have said the flickering happens when the frame rate of the game or whatever is unstable and fluttering, from their findings im pretty sure its a problem with HDR in genral and not the monitor but they may be wrong
Hey guys, just a few quick thoughts. 1) VRR Flicker - a loading screen is basically guaranteed fluctuation of framerates and flicker is absolutely to be expected. You can get just about any VRR screen to flicker on a loading screen. If it also happens excessively in-game (mostly dark content), then that would be a very different story. 2) HDR and peak brightness - has the monitor been set to its Peak 1000 nits mode? Have you run the Win11 HDR calibration app? I don't remember if this screen is AMD Freesync Premium Pro. If it is and you're running it with an AMD graphics card, then HDR is probably bugged (pretty much goes for any monitor doing HDR via Freesync Premium Pro - it's been bugged for years now. Only thing that helps is CRU.). Greetings from Germany and keep up the good work. Cheers!
I have the monitor. Had to turn off VRR in windows, kept it on from my video card software settings. Solved the issue. Some kind of conflict between the two.
@@1984Captive Super strange. I have the monitor here now, too and I can leave VRR on at all times. There's the odd flicker here and there in some games but no fuzziness in Windows. If you're running Nvidia you can use Nvidia Inspector to disallow an app access to the sync state. That way you can leave VRR on globally and just stop certain apps from misbehaving. Cheers!
I bought this last month and I love it, it's plenty bright unless you have bright lights or windows, but I think for non-gaming you can adjust the HDR settings and make it brighter and I never hear the fan on it and use it mostly for gaming and watching movies and youtube look awesome on it.

This was my first 4k OLED monitor and sadly I returned mine. Got it for about $1400 AUD with a dell discount code. The monitor was beautiful, but after a weekend of testing I found it a bit too fiddly with the brightness. I have a 4080 too, and it’s a beast of a card but having to use DLSS to run games like cyberpunk with RT is a bit of a bummer (which isn’t this monitors fault). My main monitor is a LG 27GR95QE-B so I think I’ll wait a bit longer for more tech to come out before taking the 4k plunge again.
4090 with Cyberz can run RT Ultra just fine without DLSS but Path Tracing demands DLSS at 1440p and up unless you're fine with 45-60fps before Frame Gen. FG makes it much better if you like FG (I like it at times i often switch between graphical options a few times while playing lol) . At 4k it would 100 percent be required even on a 4090.

Using this right now. I just leave it in custom colour hdr with 65 saturation, 100 brightness and contrast. I run games in HDR, and SDR, in this mode on windows 10. HDR brightness is higher than SDR, so run SDR with monitor set to HDR. Superior in every metric, the way it was meant to be used. SDR is only for power saving on this monitor.
