- The @AlienwareChannel AW3225QF OLED monitor has all of the specs I've been waiting for and it doesn't disappoint! That doesn't mean it doesn't have any downside or things to consider before purchasing and I'm hoping we get a firmware update down the road to fix the presets here. If you have any questions about this let me know in the comment section.

This was a great video. Thorough, in depth discussion of all the features and settings, pros and cons, etc. I've been thinking about picking this one up and I think your review swayed me to grab it. Thanks for taking the time to make this!
I typically always though I would never want to curve to monitor as the ones I have seen before or just awkward and almost hard to use, this slight curve is just perfect. I feel like the size and curve and also text clarity is just amazing on this monitor. i beyond love model!
Hdr on pc is just as simple as on console if you are on windows 11. Just calibrate using the app and then toggle hdr on and off using win alt b.
Also, there currently is no game that natively supports dolby vision. They all just run hdr10 in a dolby vision container. So they don't use the dynamic metadata. Gamingtech has covered this in the past.
Is there a way to fix the raised blacks in dv mode? Or even better is there a way to turn dv off completely? Only solution i've found is downgrading to 546.17 nvidia drivers.
@@consumev I would only enable dolby vision in media that natively supports it.
@@consumev use it in dv dark mode
I think Mass Effect Andromeda supports DV if i remember correctly. Cant think of any other game though
Great view! The deal breaker for me was not having the USB-C (Data/90 watt Charging) and no speakers. It's $1200 and I think it's kind of a cheap move to save a few bucks.
Tbh what's cheap for me is not having DP 2.1(a) considering we're now in 2024. DP is backwards compatible and you can even throw DSC on it, but they're cheap af.
Who needs the USB-C on a gaming monitor ? and Speakers ? EXCUSE ME they always sound terrible
Excellent review, showing the ports and build is much appreciated.
Bought to pick mine up next week at Best Buy when it gets here… with my car, in the morning, after waking up,next week😂
This monitor is so gooood. Dont believe any of the comments saying its not bright or whatever. SDR is fine, and HDR is amazing. Also text is great, no fringing or oddities what so ever. Very happy.
Wow man great video! the only thing i may add is time stamps in the video, other than that dude love the review
Best review I've seen so far!
Thank you 🙏🏼
@@1UpNerdcore have you had any issues with G-sync or black screen? On Dell’s website, a lot of the reviewers have stated this so wanted to confirm
I don't understand people's obsession with build in speakers on a high end gaming focused monitor. Go get yourself a nice pair of headphones or thumpin desktop speakers.
And how do u get audio from console set up ?
Through eArk?
@@etienneheinrich7958 yeah but that would mean a soundbar wouldn’t it ? which isn’t very practical if u have a desktop set up with limited space .
@@1970cgb there are soundbars for desktops... and any speaker/soundbar is gonna sound better than any monitor speaker could be. Dont get me wrong I'm not saying there isnt a use case for this, but the cost it adds for all buyers to that monitor and the physical size it adds to it is not worth the benefit when a soundbar is definitely gonna sound better and most users end up with one anyway. On TVs I totally understand how speakers are practical (cause there's a lot of space to put decent speakers and I actually use them on my TV cause they're pretty decent) but not on a monitor.
@@etienneheinrich7958 still think there should be earphone jack ,but that’s just me :)
I bought this beautiful screen this afternoon for 1065 euros on the Dell France website and they will produce it for me. Never seen that. 12 days for wait.

Im waiting to see what Gigabyte and MSI give us before jumping in but I WILL buy one in 2024
I have LG 45" but just ordered this. I absolutely LOVE the immersion of the 45" 240" OLED in gaming. But looking forward to putting this 4K to the test with my 4090!
Subscribed for the oled reviews. Keep em coming, baby!
More to come!
Dude the specs! This is the one! Can’t wait to watch your review haha. Just got excited and commented
Yup! Man this is the one haha can’t wait to see the next reviews!
This is probably the best product review I have ever watched.
I would press like 10 times if I could.
Thank you so much I appreciate it!
@@1UpNerdcore you're welcome. I'll be back to check out any new videos on the other 4k oleds coming out this year for sure.
Great review. It's been a great monitor for me and that's coming from using the LG c2 42" and Alienware AW3423DW- 34" uwd. As for the speakers, or lack there of, most gaming monitors don't have speakers. Typically, gamers use headphones or a soundbar. Monitors, if they do have speakers are usually not very good. This is my favorite monitor to date having 4k in that sweetspot. The only caveat for those looking to get this monitor for pc is to make sure you have a GPU that can drive at 4k. I have a 4090 which still doesn't get up to 240 on most AAA. It give gamers room to grow. As for PS5, it's amazing. No screen tearing.
I have the lg c2 42 and love the size. I think I might make the jump.
I have the S90C and AW3423DWF myself, just ordered this 1, can't wait to see it in person though not expecting it to be much better then AW34 based on Rtings review
I have the lg c2 inlove it but i get flickering issues with my pc, nothing else so its annoying i never found a fix for it.
Is the picture quality noticeably better than aw3423dw?
Which has the better picture, the LG C2 or this Alienware 32inch?
Just bought one going to pick it up tomorrow!! At Best Buy 🔥🔥
I want this but I’ve went through a few monitors that were 4K and I returned them as I can’t tell the difference from my 1440p. I got the Neo odyssey g8, then got the ultra gear 39 inch wide screen and packed them both up within a half hour and returned to my curved dell 32 inch 1440p monitor. I just can’t justify this price for a monitor.
Dead Space on that OLED seems to be amazing. The very dark scenes at 18:47 are perfect! Great atmosphere.
Outlast is also looks great.
Hands down the best monitor for a PS5! Idc what people say I love it!
Best review, now do all the other oled. I'm gonna be waiting
If I only had the resources to do that lol
Great video! Was wondering what other OLED monitors are coming out in 2024 that I should be on the lookout for besides this monitor. I game on PS5 and looking for a 32 inch but didn’t know if I should wait for pull the trigger on this Alienware monitor
There are a lot. The ROG and MSI ones just launched
Hello! Thanks for the great review! Have you ever noticed that the screen is heating up after normal or heavy use?
A little bit but no more than other monitors I’ve used
Been using mine for 2 weeks now, thing is absolutely beautiful. I'm not sold on the curve though, feels weird for 16:9 imo. Really considering returning and waiting for MSI but the lack of warranty worries me... would be sweet if it came to best buy at launch
youll get used to the curve. its barely a curve compared to other monitors. it actually creates less strain on the eyes and you get less reflections in the screen because of the curve. the only other moniotr i want is the ne wrog one that is going to compete with this but it wont come out untill august 2024. so i did not wait and got this alienware.
@@CB-bi1beif something, the curve contributes to more reflections, due to the nature of concave reflections.
@@NearynHub thats not how it works and you clearly have never used a curved monitor.
@CB-bi1be people on the internet really be making up random shit about curved monitors to justify why they don't like it. They can't say "I don't like it" and move on. Even though they never even used it lmao
@@CB-bi1be no, that was someone who has the aw34 apparently who said so and when you look up how concave reflections work, you can see that he is right
Thank you very much for this review! It was very informative and I love how you covered even Xbox console options that show all green. This monitor is at the top of my list to buy
Great video and great overview sir! Question; what preset mode are you using for Cyberpunk 2077? Thanks again!
keep up great work, what about the fan sound for cooling behind the screen?
finally someone who explains calmly without stressing and fussing!
Nice review..will it be a complete overkill to get this monitor for ps5 and a 7800xt?
Depends on your budget and interest level in gaming. If money ain’t an issue and you’re an enthusiast or hardcore gamer then I say go for it. If not then id say it’s overkill and you might have buyers remorse.
Thanks for the great review. Is it possible to calibrate and set up this monitor without a calibration tool? As I am a complete display noob and have no accessories. Also, are you planning any video guides on setting up this beast monitor?
You can, I did with mine but it’ll be to your liking and it’ll take time. I personally run multiple games and slowly tweak it to my liking. That is both in panel and then the nvidia control panel if needed. There are calibration based websites that can help also that use images like the Xbox does when you calibrate hdr.
Ok, thank you for answer. I cant wait for this beauty.@@1UpNerdcore
This is probably the one I’m gonna go with. Although I’m not happy about the HDMI 2.1 being broken with Nvidia Gsync @240hz
Don’t. It’s the worst. They’re getting this out for the fan boys who can’t wait. The latter ones will be better. So this is good for now but the others will be better.
@@JabbarRafique If MSI offered a warranty I would probably go with it being 250 bucks cheaper for the same panel. Having that Peace of mind is crucial for me
@Kapono5150 my heart sank for a second when i heard the price of the msi model but i immediately thought to check if there was going to be a burn in warranty and they dont have one
why on earth would you pick hdmi over display port on PC? Its far superior. The only reason you'd be concerned about hdmi would be if you were using a console and they're frame rate locked anyway to 120fps so you're sitll not hitting the hdmi limits.
@@Airblazerand the 240hz mode has worked seamlessly with dp 1.4. I honestly think the people crying over it not having dp2.1 are being picky
Thanks for your review! I have purchased this monitor and I'm always learning more. I was thinking about using a monitor arm for this. I am somwehat new to this. What kind of monitor arm would you recommend for this specific monitor? Thanks for your help.
Mines arrives tomorrow 🔥
Nice!
Great great review, thank you so much!
great review! just I wish to ask if You notice any abl and if yes there is a way to disable it?
Just a heads up, Dolby Vision and Windows is broken on the latest Nvidia Drivers. The Desktop should not be triggering Dolby Vision. It is only supposed to trigger when Dolby Vision content is detected. AW3225QF has dynamic HDR in its EDID and a section for Dolby Vision specifically. Nvidia "fixed" it by ignoring edid and forcing it on at all times.
Thanks for the heads up I had just updated my driver so I was wondering what was causing it 👍🏻
Does reverting the driver to an earlier release fix it?
MSI dropped this similar panel for $950 flat form but I am still not sure due to the 3 years warranty from Dell and shipping is on them while MSI would ask you to ship the item
The MSI has higher input lag BTW.
thanks for this excellent review it helps me a lot
Thanks for sharing the calibration sheet. Mine also has a spike at Red3. Have you noticed any issues with red content?
It after adjust the red down 1-2 points 👍🏻
thank goodness i returned the 34inch oled. This was the size ive been looking for! too bad its so expensive
The MSI version is only $1000 in the US (still expensive, but significantly better)
same here i got the 34dwf for christmas and immediatly returned and got this.
aw man, only dell website has it. we dont have it at stores in canada yet@@CB-bi1be
I have had this monitor for a week now and is going back. The Dolby Vision bug is killing me. Once you engage HDR in windows it turns on Dolby Vision. Some games change to either true black or hdr 1000 depending on what you set it but most games are sticking to Dolby Vision which they are not native Dolby Vision. It is leading to overblown whites. Games like Elden Ring and Lies of P are the only games I have downloaded that change from Dolby Vision to HDR1000 or true black when it loads the game. But most games like RE4 remake, MW3, Uncharted 4, LOU part 1 all stick with Dolby Vision when they are not native DV hdr.
Most of my games switch back to normal HDR if they have it as an option on the game menu. The rest that don’t will keep Dolby vision for me. We need a fix for windows to dictate which one we want.
Great review! thank you
I’m still rocking with my AW3821DW
How long have you had and how much do you game on it?
I am seriously undecided on ultra wide 34-38 or one of the new 32 4k. I do have a 4090 but I don't want to loose competitiveness for games since I do like to play cs, apex, and others occasionally. But I am usually on single player on a majority of my time.
Great video!!! Can’t wait to get one 😮
Few years ago you couldn’t get a decent 4k 32” monitor for less than $800 and with inflation and this being a first of its kind it’s kind of a steal being under 2 grand imo. Look at how expensive the G9 was and that has nothing on these
Whats that on your wall? Looks really cool
3D wall panels
im in the same boat with a 42inch and in some instances its too big. I will also be down sizing to a 32 inch oled but havent decided which one yet. I think it may be the Asus Rog
I’m hoping to review that when it comes out also
One annoyance, the VESA mounts are WITHIN, or set down in the monitor casing. So for instance if its a mount that can fit multiple VESA layouts it will NOT fit. My old Alienware OLED 34" UW came with an adaptor to fix this. This one did not. Annoyed enough where I sent it back and will wait for another brand. Nor will they send you the adaptor.
Wasn't that big of a deal for me as the monitor is very lightweight and my arm can point directly up towards the ceiling. So I just balanced it on the arm and screwed it in from upside-down on an already desktop mounted arm.
Waiting for it to be released in Japan
Do you notice flickering in dark region when VRR is ON? What is your comment about the $800 with 90 days warranty for the refurbished units at Dell Outlet ? I’m curious if the 90 days warranty would mean no 3 year burn-in warranty
I haven’t noticed any flickering in dark areas with VRR on like others claim. I’m not sure on the dell warranty you’d have to ask them. If you can get for 800 and keep the 3 year burn in warranty that’s a great deal
I already have my dream monitor from Alienware AW23DW which recently got bios update , UW is the future for me.
Where’s that wallpaper of Darth Vader from I want it!
I use wallpaper engine app off Steam
32” 4K 240Hz is nice but a 4090 won’t hit anywhere near 240FPS in most games so more of a future proofing purchase?
There no downside to the panel supporting a higher refresh rate. Some games can run that fast, most won't and that'll be the same story when the 5090 comes along with the new games. But nothing lost.
@@Sean-fj9pn I agree. I just think that by the time games can run 4k 240Hz, the tech will have moved on and will be better than these monitors are now…which you can’t take full advantage of.
Depends on the game and the quality settings you want to use. This provides more headroom on those games which you’re okay with lowering settings on or less graphically demanding games. Doom eternal will hit 240, retro style games, Fortnite with medium settings, etc.
You can upscale 1440p to 4k and run many fps games in 240hz, also some less demanding games like doom eternal or roguelites etc. No problem!
I run Warzone 4k with settings that look 👌🏼 and it gets between 180-220 and looks nice and smooth
The 3080ti is fine for this monitor? Are you upgrading any soon?
It is, might get a 4080 super in the coming months but not sure yet.
Great review , thanks man.😀
The best 16x9 oled out there, period. Samsung panel, perfect curve, 240hz, 4K, and none of that streaming tv OS bs. This is the 32” king. Also, f**k AMD and their free sync.
Good review. Buying it today.
How does it feel if you play games where you don't get 240 fps? I have a 4090 and I do play call of duty warzone a lot, i think i won't be reaching 240 fps in 4K. Would it still feel smooth when i play at let's say under 100 fps?
Because of the super fast response time it’ll be very smooth even under 240fps. Zero ghosting or inverse ghosting.
Had an LGC2 and the AW34 (1440p), you can really tell the smoothness above the 120hz. Mine is coming in tomorrow, gladly will take anything above 160hz 4K in COD.
This or the LG?? What’s the best? And if not - what is the best IPS monitor?
this is QD-oled you nugget
I really hope windows can fix their HDR implementation at some point. It's a mess, if you switch your monitor to HDR for a game, now your desktop looks like crap. It's just bizarre that they can't figure it out, with OLED though, the blacks are so dark you almost don't even need HDR
why do you care if your desktop looks like shit when you want to play a game in hdr :D
@@TheUnrider Because I want to leave hdr on all the time. Android handles it well, windows doesnt it makes no sense
Still wondering if a monitor like this will be fine with my usecase. Lot's of youtube, browsing and gaming. It's of course the potential risk of burn in i'm thinking of
It’s very difficult to get burn in on modern OLEDS and with your use case you’ll never see it. Just don’t literally have it on an unchanging static screen for literal days and you’ll be fine lol.
Purple hint of the screen is annoying. Gonna be a deal breaker for some. Especially if you use it in a day light or bright room.
If you spend time calibrating it that’ll go away. Personally didn’t notice any purple hues. It leaned a little red for me but I adjusted that.
yea all those window shoppers who dont realise that this literally makes it equal to an LCD monitor in bright sun. The monitor only looks purple when its turned off. they will never know how amazing qd oled is because they just act like sheep listening to their master. i never had a single issue even in a bright room. it blows away everything else.

I was going to but this or the ultra gear 45 I went with the great because I’ve only got a 4070 super and know I won’t be running in 4K for a while. Next card upgrade I’ll def be getting a 4K like this
Hey! Just found your channel, great reviews. I’m curious about finding the right setup. I’m trying to plan a build for my office/game room.
I’m looking for two monitors, one for my desk and one for my racing sim rig. I’ve been trying to find a monitor like this a slight curve that is compatible with ps5 and pc. I’d like to be able to swap between PC and PS5 between both monitors. Preferably one flat and large for desk and something curved for the sim rig. Can you help?
I'm loving my 34- absolutely stunning.
I'm really interested in the 32-inch monitor reviewed in your video for both gaming and work. I've understood that this monitor does not support 1440p resolution on consoles, which I find quite absurd. Could you please check if this monitor supports gaming at 1440p resolution on consoles?
I'm particularly looking to play Apex Legends at 120 fps and use 4k resolution for work tasks. I prefer not to game in 4k on the console due to the significant performance drop in fps games, especially in competitive play. It's crucial for me to have the 1440p functionality for gaming. Your feedback would be incredibly helpful for making my decision. Thank you so much!
It doesn’t come up as an option in the Xbox system menu. I’d have to spend some time trying to figure out a work around by default you can’t do 1440p
This is my first OLED... I got a 4090. So is DSC noticable in display port 1.4a? I heard it compresses it? and does Gsync work with HDMI 2.1? all confusing
I got mine on Friday and no it’s not noticeable, I use 1.4a DP w/4090 FE. I also tried the HDMI port and both ports work with Gsync.
Mlife3721 is correct 👍🏻
DSC is basically lossless. You won't notice anything.
@@mlife3721 Did you notice any difference between two inputs? Since DP 1.4 is 32gbps and HDMI 2.1 is 48gbps, and both use DSC, I would think it would better to use HDMI? Or it could make no difference idk haha
@@EndoV2 No it made no difference to me and I went with DP since I know Nvidia plays better with it over HDMI as far as potential problems.
If this monitor is going the same way as the Alienware AW3423DW was last year, I am going to wait till about mid April for the release of the AW3423DW(F) version without the Gsync module which should make it a lot cheaper and firmware upgradeable
I think it's great when monitors don't have speakers they are almost always pretty bad and add to an extra cost when I'm already buying good headsets anyway.
I just received my $800 refurbished unit. Setup and so far almost new and no issues on the screen. Just some blemishes on the stand which I don’t use as I mounted on the VESA mount. Hopefully it will last longer!
Is there anyway to dim down the back panel RGB lights? The menu only let me to turn on/off but not to make any brightness changes. The FW is 104
I think you can adjust the color settings on the color wheel so it’ll be a more dim version of the color you want

Thanks for the super detailed review.
I noticed a few people on reddit as well as rtings mention that the tone mapping is incorrectly done for games which don't support HDR.
For those games, windows auto hdr is the only option & this monitor & windows only allow dolby vision which either clips the highlights after around 500 nits, or takes a 500 nit image & converts that to 1000 nits (raising the black levels of everything including the dark areas)
Currently this is the only monitor available in India & I was contemplating whether to buy this as Nvidia & Dell are both mentioning that this is an issue with windows (if yes, then not sure if Microsoft would even care to fix this)
The other option I have is a mini led display like the neo g7.
What's your take on this?
PS - I have a macbook pro 16 inch as a point of reference for HDR (which has incredible brightness due to the mini led panel type)
For those games I would just switch to SDR as it’ll still look incredible on an OLED. I’d take the OLED over mini leds and just switch hdr off for those games.
Hi What is your desk depth ? Also what sort of frames do you get in fps games ? Thanks
2ft. Depends on settings and gpu you have. I have 3080ti and in a game like doom I get 240hz, in a game like destiny I get 90-120
Speed up to 1.5
Dolby Vision seems just like a hassle. So basically, if you have HDR enabled in the windows, it automatically enables dolby vision? And from the video at 13:15 it seems like its always going to do this annoying switching on and off every time you tab out and back in? Maybe someone can help me understand, but i dont follow with turning on HDR on the monitor and on windows. Especially for this instance, its just switching to dolby vision, which looks like something i'd rather avoid.
That is correct. If a game has Dolby vision it won’t need to switch and by default if I can doesn’t specify or have HDR it’s run this on top of it from what I’ve found. So it’s forced HDR in non HDR supported games.
37:15 well, most ppl hate matte coating like what LG does to their gaming oleds because the layer is thicc and reduces color, contrast, brightness, sharpness, adds a gray film dirty screen effect.
I’ve had the exact same comment saying most people hate glossy because it’s so reflective. It’s a preference thing that’s individual to the person.
I think that anyone looking to drop this kind of money on a monitor has a better sound option than any monnitor. I am going to order one of these and i am glad it doesnt have speakers. This makes one less option for Discord to randomly choose when i dont want it to.
Re: Waiting for an update to cleartype.
I'm waiting for MS to completely disable cleartype and relegate it to the trash can of history. Even on best-case-scenario clean vertical stripe RGB subpixels, it always made a nice sharp fixed pixel LCD look like a misconverged CRT. And compounded with that, it doesn't work at all on triangular pixels like this monitor or RWBG (yes, G is not in the middle its at the edge) WOLED monitors, not to mention horizontal subpixels or any other case it can't account for.
Subpixel rendering was a bad experiment that needs to be default-off and enabled only with a "you know this makes your monitor look bad, right" warning to turn it on, rather than the current system where I have to disable it via registry hacks because the cleartype tuner's "turn clear type off" option only covers about 40% of use cases, and even disabling it from the registry doesn't disable it in task manager and other system menus.
If there is a fix needed for hdr, i wonder if this monitor will receive it. My alienware ultra wide that is gsync cerified has not received any updates due to the gsync module making updates a thing that can only be done if sent in for tech support to do it.
This is just certified gsync compatible, it doesn’t have the module so it hopefully will happen 👍🏻
Imo the MSI 321urx seems like a better option if you want 90w PD and a flat monitor. It’s also cheaper. Love the fact that we’re finally getting some glossy 4k gaming monitors!
No warranty though and I game 4-10 hours a day
I’m hoping to review the MSI soon 👍🏻

How is the brightness in HDR compared to something like the samsung neo G7/G8? Also you mentioned needing to calibrate the display to look good, what settings did you have to change then? Also did you notice any VRR flicker when using G-sync and HDR?
can you make a video on how to calibrate this display im a total noob
Has anyone nottice that when Dolby visions kick in, you loose that peak 1000. But on bright or game, the overal brightness is higher. Im sure you loose some black level, but it doesn't look bad.
What’s the depth of the monitor for those that plan on wall mounting?
Maybe the real question is the Asus QD OLED model worth the 300 extra dollars
Oooo solar warlock bro! Insta like! Is it a camera or is it really so bright? It look better than my miniled that is twice brighter.... Have you noticed some aggressive abl behaviour? How is VRR flicker, especially in destiny 2 menus?
It is bright in small windows but it will dim if the whole screen is bright. ABL isn’t as aggressive as previous models but in a very bright game it’ll be noticeable. I didn’t notice any VRR flickering
Can somebody tell me if this is absolute overkill for PS5? I was looking at 4k monitors and was looking at the gigabyte m32uc but would this be vastly better and worth it or just a complete waste of money for strictly console playing? Thanks for any feedback
I would say it’s overkill for consoles. The C2 would be a good option if you want something OLED and bigger. If not the m32uc a great monitor
@@1UpNerdcoreso you think if I play cod on Xbox but may get a pc in the future I should opt for something like the LG27gs over this?
It’s mad overkill for console. I have a top of the line PC and I will be lucky to get 240fps at 4k. Only get this if you have ordered a beastly PC. There are much better, cheaper options for console.
I will wait one that comes update with full DP2.1 bandwidth

Is it 12 bit or 10bit? I always thought dobly vision was 12 bit
10 bit
