Really appreciate this review, it's the 4th review I've seen on this monitor and finally this has been the review that answers every question I had! Thanks so much
Thank you! You're doing it right getting multiple perspectives. I'm glad my review was able to help you out. If you end up making a purchase consider stopping by and let us know what you think.
I am in the market for a 32" monitor for work (programming) and gaming. I also happen to daily drive a M1 Macbook Pro so your video was exactly what I was looking for.
Yo! thanks for showcasing the real world interactions! Helps to get a very solid understanding of how it behaves out there versus just stats and figures in a dark room. Thanks again.
Thanks for bringing up the programming aspect. I write code 8 hours a day and then play video games and I have one desk so I need a monitor that can do both!
@@kurosakitagami2788 so, the first one I got had a small cosmetic flaw on the right top corner, seems where the had taped the screen protector. Dell was super nice and responsive and they sent me a replacement immediately and had the other picked up by UPS =) super happy with both; the monitor and the customer experience =)
Best review on this monitor! Well done! Just got one yesterday. Stumbled upon your review while looking for information on the pink whites that I get on this monitor (especially in MS Excel). I'm running an IPS next to it, and the whites are very different. Going to check your other videos for this. Thank you!
Just purchased this monitor and love it. Got it on sale directly from dell. Colors just pop and very vibrant. Just turn off dolby vision in windows 11. There is no need for this to be on and makes things look alot better. Make sure youre on the latest firmware as well. Mine didnt need any upgrading
@@TaylorBrauer Yo thanks for the review - i'm so tempted to come away from my Alienware AW3418DW - just a bit worried about the burn in, and the fact that this will be a work monitor most of the time - but evenings it's gaming and content. What do you guys think?
@@OllieW501 Your concern is valid. No one really knows how these will hold up, yet. I haven't had any issues with mine and I'm not going easy on it either. 8+ hr days of work content and gaming. It's got a 3-year warranty but it's a pricey monitor.
@@TaylorBrauer Thanks for the reply, To be fair, i paid about the same for this one i'm using - and the tech on it is outdated now. Especially the lack of HDR. I also run a 3080ti, which i think should be enough to drive this on high settings. I just worry that i will miss the Ultrawide - but whenever i share my screen for work - i need alter my settings to make it 16:9, which is pretty annoying. Anyway - when's this likely to see an upgrade? I realise these are pretty new, but i wonder when the next iterations of panels are out? Any ideas?
@@OllieW501 That 3080ti will feel pretty comfortable in most games. I'm guessing at least 2 years before an update and at least 3 for something really significant.
8:55 just a correction; it goes from green to yellow meaning hey, do a pixel refresh, but it doesnt go to red. It will eventually go to red after 7000 hours of use, then you do a panel refresh. 7000 hours will take at least a year of use.
man someone finally speaking my language..You brought up *all* the points that concern me (PC, Mac, consoles, and text clarity for coding). Best detailed video I've seen yet. Great work!
I'm all about being honest with y'all in these videos. If I make a mistake I'm there to own it. Regardless of whether any of my videos are sponsored or not sponsored I want to bring y'all honest and valuable content. I'm not against sponsorships as that would support the channel even more.
I bought this and instantly returned it for the asus PG32UCDM. The AW had a slight green tinge when settings its gamma to 2.2. The curve was not that great either. WAAAAY happier with the asus, it blows it out the park.
Thank you! That comparison in the dark was pretty wild, right? The IPS glow bothered me the most with previous monitors and I'm so thankful OLED is hitting the 4k market, finally.
This is a great monitor. I recommend downloading the firmware update they recently released. Also, I'm using it with my PC and a PS5. I have a SoundBlaster Katana V2X soundbar and have the eArc port from the monitor connected to the Arc port on the soundbar and it works great for the PS5. I do use USB mode on the soundbar for the PC sound so I can get 5.1 virtual surround, but even the PC audio comes through on the eArc to Arc channel in 2 channel audio. I have the PC connected Displayport.
Oh awesome! Glad to hear you got that setup and working. I haven’t had an opportunity to test out eArc. I hope Dell keeps the firmware coming to keep improving this monitor.
is it possible that you can use the hdmi e arc for the ps5 and the bluetooth that the pc have so you can use them both on this alienware ? if the soundbar does have a bluetooth systeem just like mine
Refreshing review, really like the user experiance instead of the usual spec sum up and some standard talk. Thank you.still torn between this and a 360hz2k (aw2725df) cant make up my mind to be honest.
I'm glad you liked it. You've got a tough choice there. Both are very good. If you plan on further or pursuing your passion in competitive shooters then the 360hz is a great choice.
Unless you have a really really high end computer the 360hz monitor will be worthless to you. Which did you decide to get? I’d go for the larger size if you are playing FPS games. 😊
That’s a really great question. Honestly, the moment I turned on the 32” I was done with the 34”. I really like more square screens like 16:10 ratios. This 32” has that 16:10 feels even though it’s 16:9. And the 4k is super nice too.
Got this from Best Buy black friday + open box for $800. Still the most I’ve spent on a monitor but seems like a great deal for a 4K OLED. Coming from a 1080p TN panel it is glorious. Still haven’t found a single game that plays higher than 144 fps on my setup but watching the mouse move across the screen is buttery smooth
The raising blacks is not an Alienware concern - but a QD OLED issue. QD OLED lacks a polarizer which prevents the light to scatter on the screen and raise blacks. I have this same issue on my S90C TV too in my living room. I had to buy blackout curtains just to watch movies during the day
Just Subed! Really appreciate the informative video. I watched several reviews on this Monitor and Noone spoke about the Audio output. Thank you Taylor.
Great review, and thanks for being honest about its drawbacks. I live in a place where there isn't much bright sunlight during the year (PNW), so I think I'm going to go ahead and get this monitor.
Have you had burn-in on this unit so far? I am also thinking about getting the AW3225QF primarily for coding. *Edit: What about eye strain? Any issues looking at this monitor on long days? I happen to be very sensitive to basically all panels I've tried out so far. But I really like the AW3225QF on paper, except burn-in.
I haven’t experienced any burn-in and I’ve been using this day in and day out 8 hour plus days like I would normally use any monitor. I haven’t experienced any eye strain different from any other monitor I’ve used. YMMV based on how sensitive you are to it. I’d recommend seeing it in stores before you make a purchase to see how your eyes react.
Thanks for your review and also for covering the burn-in topic and office usage. I hope this Monitor will be available in Austria, in Germany Dell-Shop you can buy it but not in Austria. What a pitty!!!
I have this monitor and it's hands down the best monitor I've ever owned. It's absolutely beautiful! The ever so slight curve is fantastic. And the colors and blacks are amazing. They had a firmware update that fixed some things. Dolby vision makes it bright and beautiful. This panel is the same panel going on all the others that are coming out. Samsung makes it. Some "May" be better on software things but this is great right now. It was a no brainer.
I'm glad you're enjoying it! It's a pretty amazing display and I can agree with the "...best monitor I've ever owned." sentiment despite some of it's drawbacks like it's stand, lack of USB-C DP Alt, and lack of speakers. If they improve upon those next generation this will be perfect.
Yes agreed. It may not be for everyone. Like console gaming because the lack of speakers, but most displays speakers totally stink anyways. But pc use its really nice. Would like to see the asus and their cooling solution. Maybe brighter? Who knows. The Alienware does have a fan that keeps it cool so I don't know if asus will get any brighter. All and all I think people would be happy with this purchase.
@@AFGixxeR88 I think you could save some money by getting a 4k 120hz panel not 240hz. The series X doesnt have a 240hz display mode so youd be using the monitor to half of its potential. unless you plan to upgrade your system
As someone who has only ever used flat monitors, one of my concerns was if I will be able to get used to a curved panel. I have not purchased this monitor, but may in the future, but it helps knowing that I will likely simply get used to it. Other concern also is that going to an IPS, hopefully my eyes can get used to the crazy increase in contrast for long gaming periods haha.
It's a bit of a gamble going curved. As someone who used to be a strictly flat monitor guy I'm finding the curve to be enjoyable. From my experience, you're going to be more worried about spending too much time in gaming sessions because the contrast is so immersive. Your eyes won't be able to get enough.
Any suggestion on what DP port cable to get for a Mac mini M4? - I bought the UGREEN 1.4 and I couldn’t get the monitor to display anything. Any suggestions or recommendations? Thanks!
This one should work a.co/d/4sXKPyC. (not an affiliate link) I've used it to connect my gaming PC to the Apple Studio Display. So, it should support the bandwidth for the Alienware.
Getting the m4 Mac mini. Thinking this one over studio display. Will be doing mostly video editing and art / photos for print. How is the color accuracy and curves monitor for artwork?
Both the ASD and the 32 are very color accurate with the 32 being slightly more accurate. The curve doesn't bother me at all for video editing and lightroom. I would recommend checking out the 32 in stores to get a feel for the curve since some folks are going to mind it. I also have a video on the studio display were I make some comparisons to the 32, if you're interested.
Thanks for the useful video. I was interested to hear about your experience coding with it; I'm nearly ready to pull the trigger on this, with a view to using it for web dev and gaming. Hopefully it'll be a long time before burn-in becomes an issue!
Yw! Since this video was released I've used it for coding day after day. Often when testing or debugging i'll leave Jira, the IDE, or whatever's open up on the screen for a long time. I still haven't encountered any issues with that. I'm hoping it lasts the 3 years without issue and then some beyond that.
@@TaylorBrauer Cool. I just went ahead. I was considering prioritising working space and getting a "5K2K" or wider screen, but I wanted to try OLED and to game without switching monitors, so the AW3225QF it is! @@D-Oliver Gaming on OLED really just takes the experience up a notch. It's one of the best upgrades you can do for getting immersed in your games. I'm excited for you, I hope you love it!
Well, the newer Macs have HDMI 2.1 ports. Starting from the Mac Studio from last June, and the M3 Pro and M3 Max MacBook Pros. You can see me use the Mac Studio with a Samsung G8 Neo in my videos. So, you don’t need to use the converters you suggested in the video, at least for these models of Mac
In MacOS, is anything NOT hdr like the UI and such washed out, but actual HDR content looks great? For standard desktop use, are you keeping this mostly in SDR at 250 nits?
Hey ! I have a M3 Macbook air, and i wanna buy this screen for gaming and editing. I'm also gonna buy a pc later, but i wanna buy the screen first so I can use mac Macbook on it. @@preadata_ I don't have one atm. Shopping for the right monitor can be overwhelming. The best panels on the market today are the 3rd gen qd-oleds from Samsung and the 4K WOLEDs from LG. Shop around for those variants and see them in store if possbile.
I really like the deep blacks on this OLED + 32 inch curved screen is great! But I'm concerned about that burnout, should I go with the 27 inch IPS counterpart? Will that monitor allow me to play on PS5 at 1440p unlike this one?
@@venkateshnaidu2133 that’s a valid concern and Alienware has a 3yr burn in warranty with the monitor. I’ve used mine nearly everyday for 8+ hours and static images with no burn in. It’s still very early though. Idk anything about the ips to know if it’ll 1440p on ps5.
@@TaylorBrauer that was super quick response! Thank you for your thoughts and recommendations. I've one final question, I wanted a monitor for Productivity + PS5, and if this monitor can't do 1440p at 120 Hz on a PS5 (which is I think the ideal thing) then it is a deal breaker right (because there must be other monitors which are able to do this)?
@@venkateshnaidu2133 personally, I don't find anything I dislike about 1080p 120 even when I was right in front of the monitor. Is it noticable, yeah. However, after playing a bit I didn't even think about it. The further you sit from the monitor the better it's going to look too. This is highly subjective and depends on what you want and what your expectations are.
5:13 Hi again, for 1440p. Have you tried to sélect : test 1440p output ? Because I think it does support it. Is it possible to Check it ? If yes I will buy it immediately
The Dell AW3225QF works without issue with the PS5. While you don't need to enable Console Mode for full compatibility, Dell suggests using it for the best experience with consoles. Although 1440p signals didn't initially work with the PS5, the monitor now supports it as of firmware M2B105, which was released in April 2024.
Thank you for this information. Im planning to use this Monitor for Gaming and Productivity. Productivity approx 12-16 hours a week. Do you think Burn-In is a problem with this use case?
Yw! I mean, burn-in is going to happen, eventually. You're paying a lot of money for a monitor and is that worth the anxiety? That's something you'll have to think about because no one really knows how these will hold up long term.
You want to jack the brightness as low as you can tolerate for productivity tasks. It should still last quite a long time with minimum brightness levels.
@@yhzh2002 I suppose the deep blacks of OLED mean that doing so is actually a realistic option. I'm thinking about getting this monitor for work and play, and I'll bear this tip in mind. It would be my first OLED. Hopefully it supports some means of storing image settings profiles. Thanks.
so i just got the monitor my self, and i use it for console like xbox or playstation, but my question is, how do i get the sound to work? i know it does not have speakers built in, but can i use air pods? like does it have bluetooth or what speakers can i buy and you recommend for this monitor to hook up on the side? Thanks
You'll either need to connect a soundbar via the eArc HDMI port or find an audio device that's specifically compatible with Xbox or PS. Check out my video on this monitor for consoles for some more information on this.
Great video ! i've seen many videos about these new oled displays and this one really shows the average daily use, and pros and cons of these panels. I know this alienware model has some firmware issues, i will wait for the MSI one (flat, which i prefer). But i am really thinking about waiting on those hybrid monitors (240hz 4K - 480hz HD). What are your thoughts on those ? I know they will be matte coated.... maybe make a video on the subject ? keep it up.
Thank you! The monitors with the dual res, dual refresh rates are interesting. When that first debut for the Razer laptops I was very interested where that might lead. Def something to keep an eye on.
I’m curious about the dual refresh rate monitors too. I elected not to go with it because a) while 1080p is fine on a fast 25”, 32” is really pushing it for 1080p, and b) 480hz is only getting you from ~4ms to ~2ms per frame. Yes it’s 2x the frames but 240hz is already super fast. That said, 480hz gonna be a lot better on a third-gen OLED than on a TN/VA/IPS/Mini-LED in terms of blur between frames and ghosting, so if you really care about high speed, I would def be looking at OLEDs.
@binary132 good point. Also the Matte coating for me is a no no. I agree with you, 240hz OLED has more clarity than 360hz ips/tn. But since i play competitive shooters, those extra frames could be helpful (i do have a beefy pc). I would just software crop the screen in order for it to be 27 or even 24 inches only with black bars.
Great review! I can't wait to get this monitor! Also thanks for the firmware update video. I was excited to see the first update and the changes but was curious on how to actually update it. Also I have heard there are issues remaining about Dolby vision. Have you seen or tested this out yet? You earned a sub from me.
With Mac M1 Pro - DP 1.4 to USB-C, got it. You are getting 4K@120hz with that setup, right? Can the M1 Pro get higher than that? If not do you know if a better Mac model can?
I’m hitting 4K 120 with the M1 Max but the Pro should be able to achieve it too. The main issue with getting 240Hz is that M1’s don’t support DSC over HDMI. However, it seems that M2 and beyond does support DSC over HDMI 2.1. I can’t confirm this though.
Nice video! I’m still undecided to buy this monitor or wait the rog 32 oled. Now I have the Samsung odissey g7 2k 240hz. Do you think I need to wait and buy the rog or buy this cheapest monitor? Thanks
Thank you. There's lots of options to choice from and each one has their own pros and cons. Take your time to consider each one and your budget and make a decision from there.
One of the best videos about this monitor, like others said: all important questions are answered. Well allmost: even tho it is made for gaming environment and you said its also ok for working with in other working fields. But would you also recommend it for media consumption? - video content of all sources - regarding the curved shape. Is the curve not that strong so its not disturbing for movies etc.?
Thank you! I've been really sceptical of curved monitors and this is the first one I've owned where the curve feels perfect compared to it's size. The curve on the aw3423dw didn't feel right; felt way too big. This aw3225qf's curve disappears after using it for a while. Don't take my word though. Try to go see it in person at a store to get a real feel for how it's going to fit for what you expect to do with it.
The only difference with DSC is when I tab out of my fullscreen game, it gies black for 3 seconds which is extremely annoying. Otherwise flawless image
Thanks for the suggestion. Yeah, I agree completely that it's a huge factor. Finding the product with a great warranty is going to protect your purchase should something happen out of your control. I try to mention the 3 year warranty in all of my videos at least once.
I switch it up every now and then but I’m currently using Standard profile with SmartHDR set to TrueBlack 400. I have a video on HDR and SDR settings if you’re interested in seeing some of the pros and cons of each.
Appreciate the video. I am using it on my Mac (M2pro chip, connected via DP). Still can't figure out how to correctly activate HDR and Dolby Vision. I tried to watch the DV videos on TH-cam, but I can't see the DV or HDR options on the videos settings list. When I manually turn on HDR on the Mac display settings, HDR options do appear under the videos but the images are significantly washed out. 🤣
hmm, perhaps try connecting via an HDMI 2.1 cable as that might give you better HDR results. As for Dolby Vision, I believe that is exclusive to x86 GPUs.
The problem with DSC is not that you can tell the visual difference but it's the buggy behavior that it induces. For example, the few seconds black screen when you alt+tab from a game
You can use a cable matters USB C to HDMI 2.1 Adapter and using a few bits of software update the firmware (on their website) and can make get signal from the M1 Pro Max on a 2.1 HDMI port on the Alienware :)
Never too late and glad to have you here. Thank you, I really appreciate that 🙏. That's a good question. I'd probably be looking at the ASUS PG32UCDP. It's WOLED with dual modes for a 480Hz experience and it's got usbc 90W power delivery. Looks like it's got a slight discount rn but nothing I'd consider Black Friday worthy.
@@TaylorBrauer yeah wow 480hz. Mmm… I don’t do competitive fps so I think this Alienware is the one! Keep up the amazing content mate! Cheers, Matt from Australia!
@@MajorMatt79 fwiw, with that monitor you can switch between 4K 240Hz and 1080p 480Hz. Just something to consider if you think you'd ever be interested in comp fps. I'll do my best and I got some more content coming soon.
@ thank you! I’ve had a hand injury that would restrict any competitive gaming unfortunately. You think a 4080 would drive these monitors well or if I wanted to hit that refresh rate I need a 4090 only? I need a new build and I’m deciding to wait til Jan/feb for the new gpu’s or build with what is available now, I’m also hoping for a better intel cpu release. I can’t wait for the new content!
@@MajorMatt79 I'm driving it with a 4080 with dlss and getting near 240fps in most games. A 4090 would def get you closer with none or less DLSS but it's so expensive.
I'm thinking to upgrade from the A3423DWF to this beauty, I have a 7800X3D and an RTX 4090, I mainly play MSFS. The thing is I got used to the aspect ratio of the A3423DWF, is it worth the upgrade? My monitor is less than a year old and no signs of burn in as I take preventative measures to reduce burn in.
The main draw from the 3423dwf is the 4k resolution. You have the hardware to let it fly (no pun intended). I would recommend seeing it in store to really get a feel if it's a worthy upgrade.
I have the same monitor and I’m using currently on my PS5 and after I’m done gaming i turn the off button and does the refresh did not finish, is it something I should be worried about ?
Great review! My understanding is that you do software development with it as well as gaming which would be my use case. Any updates on the burn in at this point?
Hi Taylor, thank you 4 your outstanding review !Just purchased this to use with iMac . What cable do I need to attach this to iMac24 and MacBookAir 24? can you please provide a name or link?
Hey, I have a few questions. How long does it take to have a burn in if I play for, let's say, for about 6 hrs a day? And also, how long should I use this monitor for its longevity?
The short answer is, nobody knows. These are brand new and will take some time to see how they endure stress. I've personally been using this monitor day in and day out for well over 8 hours a day and haven't had any issues with burn in (or anything really). Dell has a 3 year warranty for burn in on the monitor.
That’s a great question. Unfortunately, there’s no speakers and no audio input. You can connect a sound bar to the eArc hdmi port and get sound that way. I have a setup with this in my latest video where I go over console gaming.
What is your best suggestion for outputting audio for consoles? Ideally, I would rather not take up an hdmi port with a converter (would like to keep my series x and ps5 plugged in). I guess what I’m asking is do you know if usb/usb c powered speakers work for outputting audio thru the USB/USB c ports?
My ideal setup is either bluetooth headphones or the SteelSeries Artis Pros. I'm a headphone guy so I don't connect to any speakers. I don't really have any suggestion on what's best for non-hdmi speakers.
Im new to monitors and looking into this one. Ill be using it for gaming/stream and need things like usbc to usb cables and capture cards etc. Would this monitor be compatible with all that?
The monitor will be compatible with your computer as long as it has the right display ports coming from your graphics card. If you're getting a computer that is geared toward streaming it'll most likely have a graphics card that has all the display ports you need (i.e. DP1.4 and/or HDMI 2.1). The monitor itself has a USBA and USBC port but those are just hubs that use an existing USB port on your computer. So, compatibility is more on your PC side of things than it is the monitor. Does that make sense?
@@TaylorBrauer yeah I’ve been looking at lots of options from LG like the 2795qe then saw this. I looked at a 45” at Best Buy but it’s too big. Lots of people said not to get an ultra wide for gaming. I’m new to all this as I play on a old Vizio 32” lcd tv
It depends on your mount. There's a 100mm x 100mm mount interface. Depending on your mount you might need spacers but those aren't included with the monitor.
What PS5 monitor do you recommend as the best regardless of cost? Should I wait for the newest monitors to be released this year? I am worried about burn in! I mainly play FPS games.
The 4k OLEDS released this year are some of the most advanced monitors to date. Burn in will happen on OLEDs, eventually. If that's a deal breaker than you'll want to look elsewhere.
I mean, I currently have dual 32 inch 60 Hz refresh HD monitor for my set up. Yes it is a 1080P monitor and it's a big 32 inch display so you could see the pixels. Definitely thinking about upgrading to a better monitor and this one was perfect because l did not want to compromise on the size of the display but at the same time I want a good quality display with high refresh rate. And this monitor fits everything 32 inches, 4K, 240 so high refresh rate. But the cherry on top is the fact that it's an OLED which is a big deal because I can't get over the fact that my main monitors for my main gaming PC set up are not sharp. And for other people, maybe they don't really care or can't even tell the difference but I could tell the difference due to the fact that I do daily drive a 15 ProMax, 23 M3 Max MacBook Pro 16in, 24 iPad Pro 13in, and an Ultra Watch. All these have OLED displays and definitely there's a big difference between OLED and a regular non OLED display. But the price might be a little steep, but I'll probably just buy one out of the two monitors and it will be my main monitor out of the 2.😊
Sounds like a pretty nice upgrade over your current setup. Taking it one monitor at a time is a great approach. That way you can make sure it's the right monitor for you before deciding to go with another one. If it's possible, try to see it in stores so you get chance to get hands on before making a purchase.
@@TaylorBrauer yeah definitely I live in Las Vegas so I am pretty close to LA which I do visit family and friends down there often and they got a MicroCenter there down in Tustin. So whenever I get the chance, I’m definitely gonna visit and hopefully they have those monitors for me to look at in store on display.👍
good real world review, keep making videos, you're good at it. I'm stuck between wanting this because of the price point or waiting for the flat 32 4k qd oled from ASUS which will either cost more or less, but doesn't have the curve. I never really been into curved displays, but the curve on this monitor does't seem bad at all.
Thank you! I really appreciate that. I totally understand that debate. If possible, i'd recommend seeing both in person since you're on the fence. Maybe you'll find something about one you like over the other, or visa versa.

Best review on this monitor! Well done! Just got one yesterday. Stumbled upon your review while looking for information on the pink whites that I get on this monitor (especially in MS Excel). I'm running an IPS next to it, and the whites are very different. Going to check your other videos for this. Thank you!
Thank you! I’m glad you liked it.
Glad you're liking it. Congrats!!
Ty, I wasn’t aware that red meant panel refresh. Thank you for the clarity.
Great review. Unbiased and covered everything. Nice work 👍🏼 just ordered mine
Thank you! Congrats on the new monitor. Enjoy!

@@TaylorBrauershould i use console mode though??
What settings do you use for your ps5?
Refreshing review, really like the user experiance instead of the usual spec sum up and some standard talk. Thank you.still torn between this and a 360hz2k (aw2725df) cant make up my mind to be honest.
I'm glad you liked it. You've got a tough choice there. Both are very good. If you plan on further or pursuing your passion in competitive shooters then the 360hz is a great choice.
Unless you have a really really high end computer the 360hz monitor will be worthless to you. Which did you decide to get? I’d go for the larger size if you are playing FPS games. 😊
Fantastic video, really usefull!
Thanks so much! I'm really glad you liked it.
I saw that you had a 34" ultrawide, when you changed to the 32", did you miss it a lot?
That’s a really great question. Honestly, the moment I turned on the 32” I was done with the 34”. I really like more square screens like 16:10 ratios. This 32” has that 16:10 feels even though it’s 16:9. And the 4k is super nice too.
That's exactly what I am wondering at the moment. Currently using an Alienware 34" and a bit concerned about switching to the 32".
That's an amazing deal, congrats! Going from 1080p to this must be like stepping into another world. I'm so glad you're liking it. Enjoy!
The raising blacks is not an Alienware concern - but a QD OLED issue. QD OLED lacks a polarizer which prevents the light to scatter on the screen and raise blacks. I have this same issue on my S90C TV too in my living room. I had to buy blackout curtains just to watch movies during the day
Is that really a big deal though?
Just Subed! Really appreciate the informative video. I watched several reviews on this Monitor and Noone spoke about the Audio output. Thank you Taylor.
Thank you and I'm glad you found it helpful. 🙏
Great review, and thanks for being honest about its drawbacks. I live in a place where there isn't much bright sunlight during the year (PNW), so I think I'm going to go ahead and get this monitor.
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it. The monitor works great in overcast lighting. I hope you love it!
Since there’s no 3.5mm audio jack, what are the options for audio on this monitor besides using the HDMI arc?
HDMI eArc is the only option.
Great video! Clear, pretty concise and appropriate b-roll. Thanks for sharing
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it.
Yw! A lot of folks are going to expect to use this as an office monitor and it's been great for that, so far. I'm hoping you get availability soon.
Bro this channel will be big, I'm sure. Thanks for putting this monitor on my radar, I've been looking for an upgrade.
Thank you! 4k Oled monitors are finally here. Feels like it's been long overdue lol.
I’m debating between this or a 27” lg95qe. I mainly play cod multiplayer on my series x. Currently I play on a 32” Vizio
@@AFGixxeR88 I think you could save some money by getting a 4k 120hz panel not 240hz. The series X doesnt have a 240hz display mode so youd be using the monitor to half of its potential. unless you plan to upgrade your system
This is an awesome review, I'm also a dev looking for a work/play monitor that works across mac for work and windows for gaming. Super helpful
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed.
Literally a great review on it, I'm also thinking to buy it....
Thank you! Check it out in store, if that's possible. Seeing it hands on might give you perspective.
Genuine thanks for this review. Great work and many many good stuff to know 👍🏾
Yw! I'm glad you liked it.

Yw! Since this video was released I've used it for coding day after day. Often when testing or debugging i'll leave Jira, the IDE, or whatever's open up on the screen for a long time. I still haven't encountered any issues with that. I'm hoping it lasts the 3 years without issue and then some beyond that.

This is highly subjective and depends on what you want and what your expectations are.
what do the usb-a ports do? can you plug in a keyboard and mouse to the monitor and use them with different computers that are plugged into it?
@@JeromePullenJr yep! That’s exactly right. The monitor doesn’t have a KVM so it’s limited to one computer at a time.
@ oh ok! At least it works that way.. if you do the PBP/PIP mode does the mouse/keyboard work with both of them at the same time?
@@JeromePullenJr Unfortunately, it will only work for the PC the monitor’s USB hub is connected to. PiP only uses a video signal.

Hmmmmmmm CRT time 😅
Does the displayport to usbc also charge the laptop?
It doesn't. It only provides a video signal.
Great review! I can't wait to get this monitor! Also thanks for the firmware update video. I was excited to see the first update and the changes but was curious on how to actually update it. Also I have heard there are issues remaining about Dolby vision. Have you seen or tested this out yet? You earned a sub from me.
Thanks! If you decide to get it let us know what you think, if you'd like.

Huh, that is pretty interesting. I'll have to see if I notice that too. I can't really say i've messed with alt tabing in full screen.
Also bro, talk about how Dell has the best warranty and customer service. Thats a huge factor as to why i bought from them
Thanks for the suggestion. Yeah, I agree completely that it's a huge factor. Finding the product with a great warranty is going to protect your purchase should something happen out of your control. I try to mention the 3 year warranty in all of my videos at least once.
What display setting you go with? Or did you leave it on standard?
I switch it up every now and then but I’m currently using Standard profile with SmartHDR set to TrueBlack 400. I have a video on HDR and SDR settings if you’re interested in seeing some of the pros and cons of each.
@@TaylorBrauer would live it please.
@@TaylorBrauer Thank you. I'll try.
The problem with DSC is not that you can tell the visual difference but it's the buggy behavior that it induces. For example, the few seconds black screen when you alt+tab from a game
That's not due to DSC. That's been a thing with all Windows computers since the introduction of full screen applications.
You can use a cable matters USB C to HDMI 2.1 Adapter and using a few bits of software update the firmware (on their website) and can make get signal from the M1 Pro Max on a 2.1 HDMI port on the Alienware :)
Nice. I haven't tried that. I'll look at getting one of those. Thanks!

The short answer is, nobody knows. These are brand new and will take some time to see how they endure stress. I've personally been using this monitor day in and day out for well over 8 hours a day and haven't had any issues with burn in (or anything really). Dell has a 3 year warranty for burn in on the monitor.
@@TaylorBrauer thank you for your input.
Which tower you recommend
Please clean and change thermal paste on your laptop with mx6. Your 2070 at idle running at 65C.
What temp should it be idling at?
Ideally 30-40s, not more than that
@@aniketrt3327 Whew, that's some low temps. Giving me a challenge here.
What about sound? How would you connect speakers to it?
That’s a great question. Unfortunately, there’s no speakers and no audio input. You can connect a sound bar to the eArc hdmi port and get sound that way. I have a setup with this in my latest video where I go over console gaming.
very informative!! :D
Thank you!
There are reports that Nvidia DSR does not work with DSC (4K 240hz), can you test if DSR works in non DSC mode? Like for example 4K 60hz.
Let me get back to you on that.
What are your ps5 settings for this monitor? Saturation seems a bit low for me
I use the same settings I use for PC. Standard profile, HDR Peak 1000. I'm using HDR mode in the PS5.
@@TaylorBrauer ok thank you
Im new to monitors and looking into this one.
@ Yes it does! Thanks for the help!
@@6.2OMatic Yw! Wishing you the best on your streaming journey.
Should I get this for series x call of duty gaming?
It’s a great monitor. That’s something you have to decide. Look at your options and make the decision that’s best for you. Good luck!
Do I need to get an adapter for vesa mounting?
It depends on your mount. There's a 100mm x 100mm mount interface. Depending on your mount you might need spacers but those aren't included with the monitor.
What PS5 monitor do you recommend as the best regardless of cost? Should I wait for the newest monitors to be released this year? I am worried about burn in! I mainly play FPS games.
The 4k OLEDS released this year are some of the most advanced monitors to date. Burn in will happen on OLEDs, eventually. If that's a deal breaker than you'll want to look elsewhere.
Have you tried connecting speakers via USB? I'm curious if I can effortlessly switch from console to PC and not have to change my speaker setup.
Connecting my Steelseries Arctis Pro wireless to the USB-A does work. I'm not sure if that's the case for other hardware.
@@TaylorBrauer I recently compared with the MSI MAG 321UPX, and I ended up buying the AW3225QF and have been using it with my M3 MacBook Pro and it is getting the 4k 240 hz. The only thing is that I really want is a soundbar just don't know what will work with it, but this is mainly for use with the PS5, as I have headphones, but sometimes I just want to watch Netflix
Hey how is your Monitor doing? I am thinking of gettting the QF but the burn in Danger is keeping me thinking.. is yours still ok? I want to use my monitor more than 3 years for the high price..
I been great with no issues. I've been using it 8+ hours a day for work and everything else. There's been no signs of burn in, so far.
@@TaylorBrauer thank you :)
I really thought I was going to enjoy having the aw ultrawide qoled for a while but this is so much more appealing 😮
The 4k clarity really adds a lot and the 240Hz is just icing on the cake. They really hit it out of the park with these new panels.
@@TaylorBrauer any guesses why Best Buy removed it from their site this week? Wondering if there’s a rework in progress to deal with the shipping or firmware issues 🤔
@@PyraiSage I have no idea. That's def a odd one as I saw it up there and then they took it down the next day.
What settings did you go with? Ive had my monitor for a few weeks abd cant seem to settle on settings. Thanks.
I flip flop back and forth a lot but rn I'm using Creator > sRGB > Gamma 2.2 with Dolby Vision off and SmartHDR set to HDR Peak 1000.
Won't those desktop icons burn in the screen?
@@MrKoalaBeer Hopefully not until the 3year warranty is up. Eventually, yes, they will burn in but there’s lots of tech in these new monitors to maximize longevity of the panel.
Coole cat!! I have this monitor and its pretty amazing.
Thank you! Glad you're enjoying it.
I’m in the US and my monitor didn’t come with VESA mount, does this need it?
The included stand should work. VESA mounting plate would come with an arm if purchased separately.
nice video, thanks for disclosing whether you were sponsored.
Thank you and yw! Have a good one.
