@@amberhoward7807 Genius is a great title... It is eeally detrimental to your process to get opinions ahead of the actual sit with the dogs. Many people call me a hoarder. The fact is I use crafts as therapy for my emotional problems. They are expensive and I'm a widow on Medicare. I buy craft supplies when they are a good price and save them for projects. That is not hoarding...I do collect things that are important to me emotionally. I was raised alone in foster homes, worked like man, beat like a slave for things I didn't do and molested time and again but men and a woman. I've been looking to adopt a rescue dog for a long time now. All shelters near me are filled with just pitbulls. I love pitbulls and I currently have a 9 yr old female. Her companion pittie passed away last year. My husband and I are getting older and we don't have the energy a young pittie needs or we'd adopt another one. I just wish people would stop breeding these poor animals because it seems most of them wind up in shelters and many are put to sleep. It's very sad especially as I know from experience how wonderful this breed is. 😢❤ I know young Billy will get the forever loving home he deserves! I love all animals so much❤ God bless everyone 😊
It's probably also "I'm not neutering my dog!" crowd that might be attracted to a pit bull type dog. Inevitably, the intact dogs end up getting loose and mating, even if it's not intentional backyard breeding.
Im sorry to hear you lost one of your pups. Totally understandable not having the energy for a young pittie but maybe you could adopt an old pittie? Like another 9 year old? ❤
The fact you care more about the ramifications for him if he bites you says a lot about the wonderful person you are. Billy, and all the dogs, are so lucky to have found you ❤

I have a border collie service dog that's amazing. Initially they tried to get me to pick a different breed but when I met Bruster as a pup I knew he was my fit. I have no idea why border collies are shied away from as service dogs. He trained with lightening speed as if he was born to be a service furbug. I love him & he returns my love 200 fold. I also have a friend who has a border colie mix service dog that is incredible. To anyone who finds themselves needing a service dog - please consider a border collie. They learn so fast, are incredibly attentive, pick up on the most subtle signs, are amazingly loving and are just all around amazing. I was pushed to go with a golden retriever who are known for being amazing service dogs but please don't shy away from border collies. Be prepared to brush them a LOT but I've made a ritual of brushing him when I watch TV. I'm in a wheelchair now & he loves to run alongside me - the faster the more happy he is. My friend brings hers over & we let them go in my back yard where they run & play to near exhaustion.
That is so special! I knew very little about border collies until watching Rocky and reading your post. Thank you for telling us about your precious pup and your friend’s. I love how they play together out back! Best of luck to the four of you!
They are well known for being among the smartest dog breeds, so it does make one wonder why they wouldn't be reccommended for a service dog. Maybe just because of the high level of excercise they need doesn't suit the lifestyle of many disabled people? But they are defiantely some of the most amazing dogs and likely can learn all of the tasks needed of them quickly.

I love that you don't read files and pre-judge the dogs. As a teacher, there were always files on the students and I always worked with them for 6 weeks first to form an independent opinion rather than bring a previous teacher's possible prejudice into the equation.

From my experience with border collies and border collie mixes and goats, they tend to have dominance standoffs. One of those is intense! If he’s just a puppy, and got into a dominance stand off, they likely ‘attacked’ each other after a sudden move on one animal’s part. Most people never considered an attack goat. It’s a thing. 😏

@@cherylvandezande4483 Most likely yeah. I am rural and seen many pups try to do well but just are clumsy and don't yet have the self confidence to handle much more stubborn livestock like the adults can. It can sometimes lead to the livestock charging and the bog biting or the other way around, very sad this little fellow didn't get an owner who bothered to try and teach him. Herding dogs are not easy to train as they take time and dedication, too many people want a perfect get fixed quick scheme for their dogs.

Thank you for the insight on sitting in front of the dog, allowing him to relax. He is such a character! I love him. I am a nurse, for almost 28 years. He reminds me of my patients that "play possum" and pretend to sleep when they are too depressed or tense or agitated to engage. It's so common with distressed people. He is so obviously intelligent and needs that mental activity and challenge. Thank you also for the black Friday deal. I have been wanting to try for our rescue Min-Pin. Ordering!!❤
If I wasn’t a apartment renter I’d scoop this guy up. 😢 I’ve been a viewer for a while and I didn’t truly understand what others on the channel meant when they said they knew the dog could be their dog. But with him I feel something special coming through the screen. It feels like seeing myself reflected back. Those expressive eyes, the stress/submission sleeping, the farm dog, the goat sibling, and his freckled paw reminds me of my first dog ever a female boarder collie who had freckled paws and legs. I can tell he is so smart, loving, and has a old anc wise soul. I know he’d get up to mischief and make me laugh with his intelligence and that he deserves a person who can let those roaming paws roam with long walks park days and a huge backyard. I’m sure several years from now when I am able to adopt I will still remember this handsome man. ❤

More like he's saying..."Hey! You😊 with the yummy treats....where'd you go"...?
Oh my gosh that face ❤❤ Black doggos are my fave…something in their eyes, very expressive.
He’s just gorgeous. Those eyes! We have a black lab/border collie that we rescued from our local SPCA. We love our black pups! ♥️❤️
Yes he is handsome with a beautiful black coat, and those eyes. Gorgeous
I bet he was running with not after the goat because he's still very young, basically a puppy. He just thought the goat was playing.. that's his story and he's sticking to it.😂
I do wonder if you're the first person to pet him in a very long time. I love him and his expressive eyes.
Exactly!! ❤❤❤❤ 🐕 🐐 playing-- woops!! ❤❤❤❤
"Hey genius" you are doing amazing and we love your work with these pups!
I don't trust people, but, do love most all God's creatures. I'm old and alone. I often say I don't belong in this world. I had two emotional Support dogs that like me, were misunderstood. Like Flip, they gave me years of comfort. You have been my TH-cam hero that loves animals like I do. I even call you my therapist. I have given away almost all of the craft supplies to the lady that was heading doing crafts where I live. I mostly color now for my depression , anxiety and PTSD. If you feel like someone is sharing the space with you and the dogs, it's just me. Keep getting the truth out about these furkids genius, ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
PS.. FYI, I dropped my phone and cracked the screen, now it types what it wants...I don't always catch it in the act!!! LOL.
You don't know what the goat said to him. The goat started it. 😊
🤣🤣
I agree, the dog was probably attacked by the goat and he was just defending himself.
lol
@@mothernature8893 goats can be aggressive.
The GOAT always starts it!
I can’t believe there are viewers out there that take a sarcastic tone with you! What is that all about? I just see a very loving, kind patient soul in you Rocky. Thank you for ALL you do for these fur babies ‼️God bless you 🐾
They probably didn’t see his other videos where he has already explained why he does it this way. Also, without seeing the actual comment we can’t really have any idea how the commentator meant the comment. First, it is hard to tell if someone is serious or sarcastic by just reading a comment. You don’t have things like voice and body language. Second, comments can come across as rude or insulting when that isn’t the intent of the poster due lack of voice and body language. Sometimes, you can tell depending on what is said and sometimes you can’t.
I agree a 100%
@@bornagainbeliever1429 I agree. I appreciate anyone who saves animals. Rocky and Kelly love animals. Sometimes ppl have shunned me for being so into my fur children. Then I see Rocky , Kelly, and their friends and know I am not crazy. Some of us are here help animals.
He is so heavy hearted. It breaks my heart. Ignore the haters Rocky. You know what you are doing, and you make a difference in this world. That's something none of the trolls can say.
A little kindness can go a long way. Thanks for what you do Rocky!
Good for you for not getting defensive when uninformed viewers criticize you. You are appreciated for the good work you are doing for these beautiful creatures!
I apologize ahead of time if I seemed to critisize. I'm almost always on the dog's side. I've seen sheep and cows go after a dog that was trying to heard them. They are not nice. I'm almost 100% behind you're program. I tell you when something needs to change. You've helped me with the same therapy you give animals. Not critical Rocky...respectful. Thanks for being there for the dogs and for me...🙃😊
I've been looking to adopt a rescue dog for a long time now. 😢❤
I know young Billy will get the forever loving home he deserves!
@@K-A5 Or a small short legged pittie mix, they are adorable.
@K-A5 I've been thinking about that 🤔 God bless you.
That's for Billy. hope he's ok
The fact you care more about the ramifications for him if he bites you says a lot about the wonderful person you are. Billy, and all the dogs, are so lucky to have found you ❤
Almost everything you tried, he wasn’t buying it, and him pretending to be asleep was priceless. 😂😂 Glad you hung in there. Billy is a handsome fella. Hope he finds a good home.
I get such a kick out of how excited you get when they finally take a treat! 🤣🤣❤️ I do think your voice is soothing to these dogs.
It soothes me... good work🎉we should look after all living things with respect ❤

I get a kick out of it too!💝 Also how rocky lights up, for instance, after Billy's head compression massage, his whole face relaxed into a smile! So wonderful! 🙌🏼
Without any doubt Rocky‘s voice is soothing dogs (and humans)
Only reason I avoid your videos is because I am depressed and your vids make me cry but you are so awesome, please never stop being such an awesome human being
I have the same issue. But to see Rocky getting "frozen" puppies to the point of enyoing kindness and scritches is so positive and heartwarming. That's why I like to watch them.
A beautiful dog he went out and got his own job and ended up in a shelter!!
Yeh! not fair was it, but after hungry weeks farmer man called for help for him but with misleading & FALSE info! But all solved now hopefully, Good Luck Billy Boy💚oh I wish I was in USA & young & healthy and could get to you…. but I can’t 😢💚💜love you so Billy💚🪽
Do you mean Shielded.....?.....
Mel is such a sweetheart! Tears listening to her talk so kindly to Billy 💗
Thank you for loving Billy and all the wonderful dogs you meet, and introduce us to!❤
He just wants to be given a purpose, loved, held and cared for like any other companion, Rocky, the name you gave to him, Billy is perfect, from an Aussie lover.
God Bless Billy and all his caretakers, Mel, Rocky and the group for showing him love, compassion and empathy. I hope all his days will be blessed with happiness, joy, food, playtime and love. He needs love and needs the human touch of feeling he is important and such a good boy! He is so special he needs to be shown that someone loves him and will take care of him now for the rest of his life. Love you Billy! 💋💋💋♥️♥️♥️🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾
Rocky, your calming voice and the aura you exude, allowed Billy to feel safe. Your good energy and pure soul was felt by him and it allowed him to fall into an immediate deep sleep. Love when You and Kelly work together to help these dogs in need, double the Kanaka power! 👍🏻😁❤️🐶
Poor little guy doesn’t know what he did to have him taken from his home. He will make someone a wonderful companion with a little love. 🙃🇺🇸
6min in…What a handsome boy. He doesn’t seem too bothered by you… a few min after he knew you weren’t going to approach, he seemed to relax… the fluttering eyes is usually in and out of sleep (from my experience as a foster momma). he’s sooo cute, but looks exhausted. ❤
I love that you don't read files and pre-judge the dogs. As a teacher, there were always files on the students and I always worked with them for 6 weeks first to form an independent opinion rather than bring a previous teacher's possible prejudice into the equation.
Me, too.
Billy you have beautiful eyes and are a very special boy.
Rocky thank you for bringing out his adorable smile by giving him some love and your time.
He's SO pretty! ❤Those golden eyes! So sad, and so in need of love and kindness. Anyone who can adopt him, will be a hero!
I love him, black dogs steal my heart. I just know a family perfect for Billy is waiting to find him❤
That poor sweet baby boy!! God, PLEASE help him find the LOVE he has NEVER known and SO DESERVES!!!
Billy has the most beautiful panther colored eyes! It’s wonderful to see him go from fear to trust. Mel is such a special person, she has a great connection with these dogs. Billy did great getting groomed. I truly hope he finds his people soon. ❤️🐾
Mel is absolutely an angel on earth!! You all are!! I wish all people were as kind, loving, and compassionate as Rocky, Kelly, Alexis, Mel, and the team. I want to especially thank the shelter staff, who are rarely recognized, who makes it a mission to save these beautiful dogs!! Love to Billy!!!
🥰🐾🐾🥰🐾🐾🥰🐾🐾🥰🐾🐾
He’s tired poor fella.
I've known people with goats. They can be really aggressive.
My spouse's grandmother (his father's mother) died by being attacked by a Billy goat she was expecting we don't know much beyond that father in law died 23 yrs ago and was elderly and didn't talk about the loss @@beverlyweber171

I like the approach of having no prior judgement before meeting the dog. Watch your vids on a regular basis now. Gratitude for all you do.
@@shonabrowne6324 I try very hard to not listen to what other teachers say about students before they come into my classroom for this exact reason.

Rocky is just the best with these poor, frightened dogs. Along with Mel they give them the chance they need to find their forever homes.
😢😭I'm crying for "Billy." It's so upsetting to me to see a dog like this. I hope you find a good home Billy, & I already love you, Billy. ❤
He is terrified. I hope you can figure this out for him.
I fostered a boarder collie. She hearded the cats. She hearded my other dog. She hearded us people. She would have hearded the plants if they would have moved. I found her a wonderful home on a sheep farm. She had a friend in the other boarder collie they owned. Kept in touch for awhile. She was living the life!!!
Billy wants to be loved and cared for. 🐾❤️🐾
Him waking up and coming right over when you try to leave is so heartwarming.... he just wants company
Also I feel like he was indeed just HERDING the goat not trying to hurt it. That guy must not realize....Unless...
loved the energy with mels bath with billy just looking into her eyes x
I honestly do NOT believe, not even for a minute, that he attacked a goat. I just don't. He's precious!
...Billy may have been trying to herd the goat♡!?♡
@@cherylvandezande4483 Most likely yeah. I am rural and seen many pups try to do well but just are clumsy and don't yet have the self confidence to handle much more stubborn livestock like the adults can.
It can sometimes lead to the livestock charging and the bog biting or the other way around, very sad this little fellow didn't get an owner who bothered to try and teach him.
Herding dogs are not easy to train as they take time and dedication, too many people want a perfect get fixed quick scheme for their dogs.
Poor little guy, I hope he finds a loving home soon. My heart melted when I saw Mel, she's the best!!! Thank you Rocky and team for all you guys do. I was so happy to see the pupdates on Pumpkin and Bonnie, they're so pretty dogs. A friend of mine bought Sundays for her dogs and she said it's the best!!!

I just love when Mel is featured bathing/grooming a dog. And Billy is so handsome. I'm sure he feels better all cleaned up!
You are so caring and have a great voice to engage with this sad boy. Keep doing what you do! You are amazing and the best to help this sweet boy!❤
Thanks for helping with this beautiful boy. My husband always calls dogs he does not know "puppy", like "You're a good puppy". He says most dogs had a good time as a puppy and associate that with good times. I thought I'd share it with you because I have seen it work for him. I love the head compressions. I can't have a dog right now, so I do that to my son's dog and she loves it. Thanks Rocky and team, what you guys do is amazing!😘

Rocky, I love when you are sitting with dogs, you get excited when the dogs make a turn around with their attitudes. It shows how much you really care. Thank you for that. 😊
Ordering!!❤

I have told so many friends about you, Rocky and how you care for these lost and scared dogs. Bless you and your team
I absolutely love that you and your wife do these lives together 🦋💕

Great name, didn’t really like Billy because of what happened with the goat ☹️
Don’t judge until you know the story.
