My dog recently had a sedated teeth cleaning. They told me they would likely have to pull some teeth because she is 12 yo. I do brush her teeth. When she came out they said they were very surprised. They only pulled one tooth and that was a baby tooth that never erupted completely. The rest of her teeth were healthy and clean. They did recommend that she lose 2 pounds so that is what we did and she gets around better now.

I looked around on TH-cam and there are very few examples on how to brush your dog’s teeth.❤️🐾
I’m not OP but I also brush my dog’s teeth. Here is what I did: buy a finger tooth brush and tooth paste that smells minty (she likes it). The finger brush is less aggressive. First time: let her smell and lick the finger brush with paste on it. Tell her we are going to brush the teeth (calm but happy tone). Then I touch her and tell her where I’m going to brush. Then hold her upper lip up a lil bit so I can brush. The first day, I only brushed two teeth, one on each side, for a few seconds. In between teeth give pets and praise. After, give pets and praise. When I’m done, I also tell her “all done”. Every few days you’ll be able to brush more. We don’t want to create a negative experience, so be sure not to push it. Having owned a number of elderly chi type dogs who lost teeth fairly early, they can eat amazingly well. With appropriate food and getting him comfortable, and eventually a bit of an exercise program, he ought to do quite fine.
I love what you both do for the un-wanted and neglected. I hope many people can help you all. I paid for three German Shephards to be fixed (not mine), I paid for three cats to be fixed (not mine). All my animals are fixed. I didn't know the people personally but I noticed they did love their dogs and didn't have the money, so I paid for all of them. I donated to one rescue. I'm not done but I'm trying to help poor people who need help. I've bought food for many strangers' pets. I have 3 cats and 2 dogs (fixed). Lol. Please people help other if you can. The rewards are wonderful. I love this little guy you all have. I am very far away but keep us updated. And may everyone have a wonderful Thanks-giving and Christ-mas.
Thank you ❤ for helping others ❤ We do the same large and small but most are just dumped in our country area and must see and hear ours so know they will be safe, fed, etc.
Thanks for helping animals. Please don’t call them “fixed.” They were not broken. They were born as God made them. If they must be spayed or neutered because their owners don’t care for them properly, that may be necessary, but those surgeries are not “fixing” them.
@@suzanneemerson2625Beautiful thought. You are right, fixed is such a weird word to use. Although, spaying/neutering isn't necessarily done because people are negligent. Some contracts with the breeders require that you spay/neuter your pup. It also reduces the risk of some cancers. And I think shelters generally require people to spay/neuter the dog they are adopting.
Poor baby & he is still being so loyal to whomever his last owner was. There is absolutely No excuse not to say if he has a new owner & give the details to the shelter. I hope he gets a good home soon!
The owners weren't kind to him, no reason he should be so big & toothless, 10 years old is too young to lose most of his teeth, sorry Rocky but it's upsetting!! He didn't deserve this after having a family💔😞💙
Bad teeth has a lot to do with genetics, so even if you brush them every day, the pup can lose them. As for the weight, that's abuse. I know a lot of people think fat cats and dogs are cute, but I can only see their pain. Adorable little face, though! Those eyes. And he's so energetic and quick for such an obese dog. That boy would have been bouncy if he was the right weight.
The old parent is out of Chance's life. He is in good hands and going forward it will be a better life. He has 30% or more to go in his life and the right person can make his life so much better. Don't look back Chance.
Oh my gosh such an adorable dog! Dumped, how cruel, it breaks my heart. I’ll pray he’ll find an owner who will love him and cherish this beautiful boy.
Thank you, Rocky, Kelly and Alexis. My heart breaks for all the puppies that are in the shelters and out on the street. I wonder if this sweet baby can only eat canned food thank God he’s got your help. I dearly appreciate y’all so much.
My favorite thing about Rocky is how he treats people. I know we are here about dogs, but when we see that he is so gracious and appreciative, including how he treats his absolutely amazing wife. 🎉
A friend of mine had a little Jack Russell terrier who lived to 18, and I met a couple when I was walking my dog who said their Fox Terrier lived to 21. Little dogs like this often live much longer lives and keep a lot of their energy and spryness, so 10 years old is only really like middle age for them! I have a Pugalier who is 14 years old, has five teeth, and has gone deaf and blind and he would have to be taken from my cold dead fingers to be separated from me. He's given me his whole life, loved me, been devoted and loving for all the years he remembers, and will continue to give me until his last breath. There is NOTHING besides death that could make me leave him, especially never just push him away because he's old. Chance is being given the chance to see out his sunset years knowing he's loved, cared for, that he matters and is WANTED, and he deserves nothing less!
Yeah, I think that's what they meant. I don't think they lied about someone else being his new owner, I think "he's no longer my dog" just means "you can have him, he's definitely not mine anymore."
I am thankful that they don't want him. They probably treated him poorly and no living being that has so much unconditional love should be treated is such a way. Thank you and your wife and anyone that rescues or any involvement with saving these lives. ❤❤❤
I adopted an 8 year old senior blind dog that someone turned into the shelter. She’s 14 now and going deaf but so loving and I love her so much. Shame on people!
Chance is a CUTIE! He deserves a better home than what he had. Senior dogs, are the ABSOLUTE best. Hoping that he is adopted soon. Thank you for what you do.
What a sad situation. If that is genuinely how Chance's owners feel, then he is better off without them. It's such a shame that they didn't want to keep him or that they chose to simply let him run free instead of turning him in. Maybe they didn't want to pay the costs of surrendering the dog. Either way, they shouldn't have treated him so callously. I truly hope he finds his furever home soon. Much love to all of you and thank you for helping all of these adorable and much-loved animals.
Rocky, Thank Goodness I’m in Sydney Australia. I would be there to take every little abandoned baby! We have a miniature long haired dachshund who is the boss of our house! Totally spoiled and we love her so very, very much. God Bless you and your family for loving these abandoned babies. ♥️♥️♥️
I have never felt more sad about a dog's story in my life!!!! I think it's the stark contrast to how he is and how he was treated. He is the cutest little thing in the world and 100% lovable, but severely mistreated with a poor diet and just thrown away like he meant nothing and only one little tooth to eat with.... And yet he is cheerful and sweet and full of hope and excitement.. waiting for his family to come get him and they probably won't come. He should be given all good things and he was given nothing good by the looks of things. 😮😮😢😢😢😢💔💔💔💔💔💔 I sure hope this little guy gets the perfect home with tons and tons of love and excitement and fun!!! And I hope he's healthy enough to live long enough to really and truly enjoy it! I will be looking for the pupdate!!! 😘💖💖💖💖💖
I started crying and haven't stopped this little one needs some extra help this is the ultimate cruelty. I cannot believe some people who do such things. This little one needs to be taken care of,I know he needs patience, love, and sending up prayers and healing thoughts. ❤❤😭
Pls have him checked for cushings given his size it may be medical. Just rule it out before putting him on a diet. Diet doesn’t work for cushings because the weight is caused by hormones.
Also Cushing’s can make them think they’re starving and OBSESS over food and that could be how he gained all this weight. My vet and I had to put my chi on sedating meds in the evening because she would get so frantic over food and had gained a couple lbs. If he has Cushing’s that could also be why he was dumped (if he was) because it’s difficult and expensive to treat .. but on the other hand someone clearly paid for all his dental work so his situation is puzzling .. He is actually the most precious little nug tho and I wish I had space in my home for him!!
Also, cushing's can cause increased urination / frequent accidents in the home, which is tragically the type of thing I think of first when it comes to an owner answering in the way they did.
@@demaupin yes they do wee alot with it, we didn't care, we just loved her so much that we put up with it, we never told her off for it she was very embarassed about it and didn't want her more stressed, she spent most of her final days cuddled up on the sofa with her. my frustration comes from most of us being so quick to judge. not just about former/current family, but his weight, cleanliness, etc. we don't know the situation, we don't know what caused them to come to this pass. i have seen so many on here say they would always choose pet before giving them up. homelessness, starving, health issues, even divorce/separation affects all of us differently. i hope that i never have to face that choice. i can say that where i am right now i would do everything in my power to not give up my furry family member, but i have never faced a no win situation. please be kind to each other as much as we all want to be kind to the furry members of our world.
@wolfsbaneswanderings The judgement comes because Chance was not turned in to a shelter or a rescue. He was turned out onto the streets. All but one of the dogs I've had has lived into their teens. All were rescues. None of them would have made it living on the streets alone. If you can't take care of them, find someone who will.
The person linked to Chance's microchip didn't provide any information whatsoever. I agree, sometimes people are forced by circumstances to give up a pet, but they (imo) have an obligation to set them up for success if so.

WOW! I have watched your show for quite awhile now. I so appreciate what and how you carry your hope and love for these precious special needs fur Babies. I would not send Chance back to his previous family as you can see the neglect that has happened to this cute very active boy. Whoever had him prior did not deserve him. They actually did Chance a BIG FAVOR by surrendering him in order for Chance to have a second Chance. One molor is very sad. The pain that he must of suffered prior to removal of each tooth. May a very Special someone give Chance a loving and calm forever home who will get that boy on an exercise pogram with less food intake in hopes to get his blood pressure down. When we began she was not a fan of it. I went slowly and she was more cooperative each time. Now it’s a regular bedtime habit and she sits and we get it done. If you can start as a puppy it would be much easier.
OMG HE’S ADORABLE!
What a cute little pumpkin!
Don’t normally like small dogs, but he looks so sweet.
He deserves every chance and PERMANENT LOVE!! 🐶❣
❤
So sad that he would be abandoned just when he needs his family the most.
Having owned a number of elderly chi type dogs who lost teeth fairly early, they can eat amazingly well. With appropriate food and getting him comfortable, and eventually a bit of an exercise program, he ought to do quite fine.
" Who does that??!!?? Exactly!!!!😮😢😭
Some people are just awful. I’m hope he finds a good home ❤
Dear little creature. Thank you Rocky and Kelly for showing him love. May he get adoring forever owners. The precious soul.
Lololol he's so cute! Send him to me! We will GLADLY love him furever❤❤
Please adopt him if you can 😊
Chance, I can see you’ve been working out and eating your peanut butter protein. You’re all muscle and you’re a good boy!
Poor sweet boy. I hope you can help him🙏
I love what you both do for the un-wanted and neglected.
That's awesome that you were able to do that. We just had our dog spayed and it was $800. Yikes. You are wonderful!
That is so nice of you! Merry Christmas to you too ❄️ It snowed today so it doesn't feel too early for me to say that!
I actually agree with Kelly about the registered owner actually being the owner and just didn't want the poor guy. Chance you are adorable and loved 😍
He is ADORABLE ❤
glad you're helping him, sweet little angel.
I wish he could relax, so sad!! 💙
So sad.
I am happy. To see he has the 3 of yu to make sure he's placed in a tender hearted home.
Omg he is so precious keep us updated on him!
Oh he is so cute!!! I love this little man!!!!
Thank you, Rocky, Kelly and Alexis. My heart breaks for all the puppies that are in the shelters and out on the street. I wonder if this sweet baby can only eat canned food thank God he’s got your help. I dearly appreciate y’all so much.
Ooooo that's maddening!! Bet they don't want to keep him because he is older and has health issues 🥺 it's hard not to feel angry‼️
My Jack Russell Terrier, Rosie, is 14, 15 in March and still going strong. She doesn't like going for walks much, but she eats and sleeps well.
That was his owner. I think they are saying they are no longer interested in this poor adorable guy.
The stinker.
I agree. If they had rehomed him, they would have said so.
Yeah, I think that's what they meant. I don't think they lied about someone else being his new owner, I think "he's no longer my dog" just means "you can have him, he's definitely not mine anymore."
he's adorable.
Poor dog ! My heart breaks 😢😢😢I send you a lots of love from the Netherlands. Thank you so much for helping him 💝💝💝
I am thankful that they don't want him. They probably treated him poorly and no living being that has so much unconditional love should be treated is such a way.
Thank you and your wife and anyone that rescues or any involvement with saving these lives. ❤❤❤
I agree
Thanks! We love ;chihuahuas- please help this baby to lose weight and get fit and a loving home-he’s very calm for a chihuahua in a strange place.
How funny…..one little dog has three people guessing….lol. I hope Chance finds someone who really wants him. 💝🐾🐾🐾🐾
I'm seeing the title and I'm already angry and sad
Cute little guy. He’ll find a good home soon, I think. ❤
Pls have him checked for cushings given his size it may be medical. Just rule it out before putting him on a diet. Diet doesn’t work for cushings because the weight is caused by hormones.
Ty for comment to consider this health condition many of us wouldn't know about. -John's wife
Or thyroid
Also, cushing's can cause increased urination / frequent accidents in the home, which is tragically the type of thing I think of first when it comes to an owner answering in the way they did.
@@demaupin yes they do wee alot with it, we didn't care, we just loved her so much that we put up with it, we never told her off for it she was very embarassed about it and didn't want her more stressed, she spent most of her final days cuddled up on the sofa with her. They're our little friends, it's our duty to love them, especially when they get sick❤
Love this lil dude
Chance is devastated that his family hasn’t come for him. He deserves happiness.
Poor little fella, he's so sweet and didn't deserve any of that. I hope he finds a new home and soon.
He is adorable 😊
Oh hes a chonk hes so cute though!! With proper diet and exercise he will do just fine! What a sweetie
The troubled little soul...💔 But still has SO much dignity and presence...❤
Oh no that makes me so sad, he looks like my little Justice where past away too early a month ago. Tears in my eyes 😢😢😢 💖🍀
Chance, you are a cutie. I hope you find your furever home ❤
Dude, I haven't even watched this yet, but DANG!!!!!! 😢 Thanks so much for going live with this
What a cutie! Bless his heart. Terrible to abandon these little guys for whatever reason. Oh my. Hopefully some good person will scoop him up and give him a better life.♥️
Oh my goodness I see him and I see my Taco!! The exact same markings just different colors! Well maybe the size too! My Tiny Toy Rat Terrier Taco was 3.5 lbs soaking wet! He was definitely my soul baby. He left way too young. He was 14.5 yrs old and crossed rainbow bridge 12/30/23. I cry over missing him all the time but this little chunk a munk allowed me to cleanse 😭! Dang gone it I miss him so very much! My female standard poodle is licking my tears away. We always talk about our soul baby 🐶🦮🐩 but we forget about the baby that keeps us going by trying to mend our broken heart! 💔
Where there is great love, there is great loss. Very sorry for your loss. We'll hold them in our hearts until we can hold them in our arms in heaven. Forever loved. 💖-John's wife
I agree that he looks like my old rat terrier, too!
@@charlenecardwell8288 Rat Terrier’s don’t get the respect and recognition they so desperately deserve!!
Thanks!
my frustration comes from most of us being so quick to judge. not just about former/current family, but his weight, cleanliness, etc. we don't know the situation, we don't know what caused them to come to this pass. i have seen so many on here say they would always choose pet before giving them up. homelessness, starving, health issues, even divorce/separation affects all of us differently. i hope that i never have to face that choice. i can say that where i am right now i would do everything in my power to not give up my furry family member, but i have never faced a no win situation. please be kind to each other as much as we all want to be kind to the furry members of our world.
Rocky, my mum had a tortoise when she was a kid called Alfonso. My grandma kept letting him loose and taking him far away from the house, but he kept finding his way back - which she wasn't best pleased about. Lol. Thank u all for the lurrrvvve u show these babies. With love from the UK
🐢❤🐢❤🐢❤🐢
Humans are heartless, he is an angel. I would take him in a moment if i was closer.
Just shared 😊I pray someone loving comes for him
I used Home to Home from the Humane Society when we had to rehome our sweet hound. We found her a great new family and kept her out of doggie jail. What a great program!
Your cute lil wifey has a great sense of humor!! Chance is cute too.
I'm absolutely devastated for the little guy. This is the worst form of betrayal. A dog is for LIFE END OF. I feel for this guy he should be curled up on the sofa safe and secure knowing he is loved not discarded like some broken toy because of his health condition or age.
Still. now he's in the very best hands and he's assured life will be good in his senior years going forward.
Thanks Rocky for being this little dude's rock

Chance I wish you all the best for you to have a forever home that will be filled with love, patience, and joy. I hope also that his health will be good for him.
Rocky, your 2 female “assistants Kelly and Alexis are so GORGEOUS! They “elevate” your channel so much!
The person who answered didn’t want him anymore. They just let him out. They don’t want to pay for the medical bills.
Exactly!
I thought the same.
They never took good care of him anyway
Aw thank y'all for all y'all do to help animals bless y'all ❤🤗🙏
I hope Chance gets another Chance with people who love him. So sad he only has one tooth. Poor baby.❤
I can really relate to this little guy...I often, "self-medicate" my anxiety and depression with FOOD! Hope that you find your perfect person, Mr. Chance!
Poor old boy! Needs lots of TLC ❤ Thanks Rocky & team
How sad for Chance. Poor sick dog.
So glad he is with you all. God bless you all for the love you shower on him❤

Is that because it's a live? They might come later.
I agree we need the option
@@biddiemutter3481 Good point, yes maybe? Not sure.
This chihuahua is so funny, my chihuahua makes me laugh every day with his big feelings and silly facial expressions.
Chance is adorable. I can't understand why anyone wouldn't want him.
Thank you Rocky,Kelly,Alexis,Mel,etc.!!!💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
He is such a chunky monkey! Poor baby for being abandoned by mean humans. No one likes being abandoned. Hope he find his forever home soon. Sending hugs to Chance.
Chance deserves the BEST! Please make sure that he gets in with a healthy family.
He’s tiny and someone very special Will totally come over to adopt just HIM! You are a love, Chance ❤🎉
There should be a registry when a pet has a microchip and the owner says something like that they would go on the registry..no more pets allowed ! ! !
Agree!!!!
I think some parts of the world does have that done inside the chip for the animals that are registered etc.. I could be wrong.
Agreed!!
They should mail out cards too like “pet offenders.”
Good idea!
New lovely forever to family for Chance, please! Healthy food, cuddles, exercise, nail clip... he's been neglected, no matter who was his last owner.
I don't understand some people. My dog got cancer and one person told me to shoot it and get another.. I won't tell you what I said to them..
Oh. My!!!!!
Good for you….that person that told you that is someone that I would stay away from, relative or not!👎
I wonder how they will get treated when they get old and sick😡
Our society has got to start determining to treat human beings and animals with value. And give kindness.

Sweet baby, i hope he finds a good home that will give him a few happy years.
how can someone be so selfish to both dump him then act like a jerk afterwards?
There are ,any awful people in this world atm.
Poor Chance, how can people be so heartless, Chance is a cutie ❤ hope he finds a home
This breaks my heart! How could anyone just dump this baby? I own two Chihuahuas and a mini dachshund and I couldn't imagine dumping any of them. His humans are inhumane 😢
I adopted a 4 pound Chihuahua from a local shelter. She lived to be 18 and was the best dog ,I've ever had!
I feel very sorry for this poor little guy. I hope it works out well for him.
