- In my constant quest to find the best USB microphone for the DJI Osmo Action 3, today we're trying out (and unboxing) the Samson GO Mic!

Still looking for a way how to use the wireless mic while charging the OA3 at the same time.
the samson is brilliant, after i figured out how to properly connect it to my phone it's great for recording my acoustic guitar, very good quality sound. i can see why they designed the clip on the way they did, but fixing it to the mic stand by screwing it in leaves the mic a bit floppy, it's no problem to position it, but the ball and socket could be better, and even more universal, other than that, yoiks! good value for the money.
they do one with a camera apparent;y, but i can't see where to buy.....
A comparison to the Rode Videomic go 2 would be very interesting. :)
Have you ever tried action 3 with any affordable C Type Wireless mic?
USB mic on an action cam is an interesting function. Yet I was wondering how much power the type C socket can provide. On the other hand, will it significantly affect the battery life of Osmo Action 3?
Well, Samson Go sounds a bit thin. I normally like the lower frequencies in your voice, which is really charming. Plus its form factor, I don't think this mic will be a convenient pick for you. But it doesn't change the fact that this video is interesting. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for your insight! I've done some test with other usb mics receiving power from the Action 3 and if you don't shoot in 4K, the battery drain isn't too bad (though it also depends on the mic and if there is a headphone output).
While I'm not sure how much I'll be using this mic, because it's not a shotgun style, it doesn't extend into the Action 3's field of view. I don't mind it's thin low end (as for me personally, I'd rather lean towards clarity over muddiness) but it will definitely be a fun mic to play around with lol!

Hi, I watched a lot of video reviews about mics and adaptors for DJI Osmo Action 3 and your content is great.
I bought a Boya MM1 and tried to use it in live music situations. Even decreasing the gain by -12db the audio continues to distort. I also recorded with a Audio Technica lavalier that has a lower gain and sounded way better for live music. But this mic has a long cable and don't have a clip or something that turns it into a portable mic for this situation.
I also plugged the Boya MM1 into a DSLR camera and it sounded great as this camera allows you to reduce the gain by up to -40db
Is there any other microphone of this type (and price range) that has less gain?
i just found that my action 3 did not work with ulanzi j12 wireless mic 😢

Does the Action 3 work via usb with the Rode VideoMic Go 2?

That's a bummer! Samson just released an updated version of this mic with a built in webcam, so keep an eye out as the price may eventually drop across regions.
There is no reason why a mic this size and quality can't be integrated into the next iteration of the action cam itself. Maybe in the DJI action 5.
I agree (and this mic is a number of years old already). While I think the Action part of an action cam would be a barrier, I can't see why something like the Pocket series could have something along these lines that's more design integrated.
Does samson go mic work with DJI action 2?
The Action 2 supports USB audio so it should work.

I have the action 3, got the JJC Dual 3.5mm USB-C Microphone Adapter and trying to use the Deity V-Mic D4 Duo Video Microphone but no luck, the micorphone is not detected by the action 3. It works with a BY-K2 adapter but I wanted the option to charge the action 3 while using it. Any idea?
Thanks for your comment! Unfortunately, there Action 3 doesn't support charging while using an external mic. Though my understanding is that DJI is aware of user's desire for this functionality and may be working on a solution. Fingers crossed!
@@WayneRECs ok did not know, so why the JJC Dual 3.5mm USB-C Microphone Adapter does not work, no detection of the microphone. I saw that your is working, maybe is defective or the usb-c port has issue? I noticed that he usb-c plug is longer on the BY-K2 compared to the JJ dual adapter, so maybe does not reach all the way in?
