Has anyone tried the Zoom Am7 MS with the Action 4, does it work?

If you power the zoom m3 with a USB C long chord that works as an antenna and you will pick up RF noise! If you power the m3 through internal batteries and not through USB C cable while recording then there will be no RF noise.

Thx for the video mate. I own both of them, and still don;t get one thing,, for some reason MKE200 produces much more Noise than Rode... I've followed your instructions - to set Camera Gain to minimun... Well, even i set it to very low level.. it is still Noisy ... that makes that Mic useles.. :( Rode is way better

Can I use VXLR+ adapter for ANY microphone that has 3.5mm plug? I mean, if a mic needs 3-5v (plug-in power), or don't need any kind of conversion...does it also work in both cases?

float recording does for audio what HDR does for photography. Really, there's no reason not to use float32 for everything these days, but it will take a while for the industry to move on from integer formats.

Picked up the same battery door off of eBay and noticed this too late. If I may ask, when I go and try this myself, are you filing for depth or are you filing the edges of the lip to fit that smaller insert? It’s kinda hard to tell in the video. Appreciate any advice!

Ultra Like!. Weird thing that in a lot of videos, there was told opposite. That Mic level should be set as minimun as could. But camera level should be higher cause it will help external mic to process audio sound.. But doing that i was experiencing exact thingy that you've shown - The noise, that prompted me to put volume to minimum at the post... Thx Mate, god bless !

They all sounded highly compromised to whatever mic you used to record the video. Is this considered acceptable for a lavalier? Would they sound better with a dedicated lav mic?

Awesome! I am just starting vlogging...how ever when I have my purple panda lav mic on my dji, I get some crazy weird distortion, even with the Dji at -12dB on the mic input. I am using a Google Usb C to headphone plug - after watching this video I am hoping using a USB C to TRS cable will resolve the issue!

I'm trying to get better audio for my TH-cam Channel. I record my race car in a VERY loud track environment, while I'm trying to record my commentary simultaneously. At first, I just used the iPhone mic, and you couldn't hear me talking. Then, I bought the Comica Vimo S, plug and play wireless lavaliere mics, which work great at normal dB ranges, but get clipped and distorted pretty quickly when the cars erupt engine noise at the Green Flag launches. I'm on a small budget, and trying to get the best of both worlds where the end-viewer can hear the car audio, but can also hear me commentating. I was told to look for a mic with a 32-bit float, but I really can't afford to get this wrong in both time and money. Please provide any suggestions as to what would be best, and what setup would help me accomplish my goals! Feel free to watch some of my videos to provide feedback in my comments as well. Thanks!

Hi, I use Sony EZV10 as weil. But it seems like the Camera does not Connect with my RODE Video Micro 2 since there is NO Adio Sound at all when I set the Camera Audio to Level 4. maybe you can help me out ?

When you use a ADC such as the BOYA BY-K4, do you sill loose some audio details from the mic because of the analog to digital conversion? Hence best to get a smart mic sennheiser XS to avoid the conversion, as you've recommended beore?

just wondering .. is it beneficial to supply power (just the power) from USB Charger or Power Bank to the USB-C port on the microphone while its working with the camera through 3.5mm jack? My concern is that I want to set the preamp on my camera to the lowest possible, but since this mic doesnt have a battery.. meaning that i cannot turn the settings down to the lowest. I know that I can plug it into a computer and use the software there while still outputting the signal through 3.5mm to the camera. but what if i just plug in the power from DC charger to the microphone, will it provides power for the mic so i can lower the gain from my camera preamps? Just trying to avoid using computer or smartphone here.

Newbie here. I bought a Zoom F3 not knowing what I was getting into. I sample tested with a cavalier mic and placed the file in Premiere pro. The sound is coming out of one speaker only. I switched the settings from stereo to mono and vice versa and still only have sound in one speaker. Is it possible to get sound from both speakers using one microphone with the F3? Thanks for the video. I like the table top set up.

I recently have been thinking of doing something like this as an alternative to the Antlion Modmic. Instead of getting a Modmic only for pc, you can use the wireless mics for other purposes haha

Im using Dji mic 2 with my action 4 to record some motovlogging, its sounds okay ish when things is not going to fast. I experience audio clipping all the time tho. (I have the mic in my backpack yo record the exhaust.)

In the specifications of the Rode VXLR Pro adapter, I read that the plug-in power supply is 4 Volts when the phantom power supply is 24 Volts and 48 Volts. It turns out that the Rode VXLR PRO adapter, connected to the Zoom F3 audio recorder, converts a phantom power supply of 12-48 Volts to a voltage of 4 Volts and transmits it to the Rode Lavalier Go lavalier microphone. Does this mean that in such cases it will not matter whether I set up a phantom power supply of 24 Volts or 48 Volts in the settings of the Zoom F3 audio recorder? After all, the adapter will still convert to 4 Volts, which is necessary for a lapel microphone? Most importantly, will the adapter prevent the Rode Lavalier Go Lavalier microphone from breaking (burning) due to high voltage? One point is unclear to me. They write that first you need to attach a lapel microphone to the Zoom F3 audio recorder, and then install 48 Volt phantom power in the Zoom F3 settings. Otherwise, the lavalier microphone will burn out. And doesn't the Rode VXLR Pro adapter convert 48 Volts to 4 Volts, despite the fact that before or after connecting the lapel microphone, I installed phantom power in the Zoom F3 audio recorder?

What about XLR mics on Sony handles? This method doesn't apply then, right?

I tried my drift mic and initially it was recognized the was dropped. The mic works fine with my drift cam. Great video BTW!
