I can't imagine a more helpful and clear video on this! Thanks so much.
Very well explained, thank you !@
Valuable information. As always. These type of videos are priceless and save us beginners a fortune. I've purchased several adapters after watching your videos. I've wasted so much thin on the ground money over the years. Keep it comin'.
Thank you for the video, really helpful.
thanks so much! this is so useful for me.
Excellent video, thank you!
Thank you so much U cleared all my queries ❤
Thank you for your clear explanation. I had bought a cheap headphone adapter for my action 4 not realizing that till I saw this video.
Well explained Wayne, thanks! Although I know all these but I couldn't had explained this better than you did.
I'm glad i watched the whole video. Thank you.
First of all, excellent video! Very informative and easy to listen to. I have the DJI Action 4 and the DJI MIc 2 wireless system. I'm not overly impressed with the sound quality when using the bluetooth hookup. I will be ordering the BY K-4 as you recommended. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Take Care!
Hello thanks for this video. Can i answer, do the osmo action 4 show the mic level bar, when connect a lavalier mic with the BY K4 or BY K9?
Ahh, I get it now. And I can relate better since I do now have a new Osmo Action 4. Thank you.
Thank you very much sir, really helpful for explaining everything. I have a question, do you thing that a LAVALIER MIC with "RING/SLEEVE" jack would work on the ACTION 3 using the boya by-k4?
You are great. I go a level higher.
I wanne use the camera for DJ-set with a aux / line-signal. Not a microphone. Just a chinch-klinke-cable. from a dj-mixer, tapedeck, sampler, cd-player or whut... could i use that too?
or is the mic-adapter leveled to high?
maybe i try the Movo UCMA-1, is the only one avaible in germany. thank you for helping in research.
*At **1:05** you name the adapter. You earned a like and I watched the whole video. Thank* you and well done.
hi thanks for this video ! Just a question , if i have the rode smarlav+ , i need the bY k9 ! right? Thanks
Hi thanks for this
Im trying to figure out which cable would be perfect for me to use for direct audio. The source will be the stereo outputs in the side of my Babyface pro.
So far im looking at a generic y trs to 3.5mm adapter. But im now left wondering if there is a more direct solution omitting the additional conversion to analog
Thank you.
Thanks Wayne for demystifying the muddy world of osmo action audio! It’s few months I bought my action 3 and still haven’t perfected the audio set up for moto blogging😢.
Thanks now I’m totally confused 😆 ✌️🤙
I’m looking to get a usbc external microphone for my action 4. I use my camera to film rock crawling with loud utv noise and people talking and not sure what is best. Also would be nice to front and back microphone to hear the person holding the camera as they might be explaining the obstacle while filming the UTV rock crawling.
Is there an option to connect a lav mic to the dji-mic-2? To take advantage of the 24 bit float via a wired microphone though. That make sense?
Helo. Thanks for this video. Can ı ask a quastion? Did you use boya-oa1 adapter ? I bought it but doesn't work on DJI osmo action 4.
Do you know whether they're going to make that available for the action three? The firmware update to use their Mike that is.
Permits stereo or not, the USB-C adapter when connected to a stereo mic with a trs connector?
you should take a look at the Sunnylife Type-C microphone made for action 3/4. I got one yesterday, tested it on a few rides with +3 grain and the result was pretty decent.
can you test in oa3 charge and mic can same time?
Can you have a wireless and wired connected to the action 4 at the same time? Having two channels/sources of audio?
can I use a u green generic usb c to 3.5 mm jack I can not distinguish if it is an trrs or trs adaptor. Thank you
Hello, thanks for this video. I have a question. What would you recommend for record motovlogs? I bought a Dji Osmo action 4 but the wind noise cancelling is not enough for my videos. So, i want to buy a microphone and an adapter that helps me to do it better
Dear Wayne, I see so much options on the market for usb type-c mics, did you tested it ? maybe I missed your video. (looking for my helmet filming and talking option)
From Malaysia, Thanks for the review. I've have just used directly usb-c mic (lavalier type). I've set the gain to -6db for my motovloging. The audio is acceptable and clear. But need to adjust the gain -8 to -10db because it has a bit clipping when I rise my voice. No need adapter at all. Wayne, You need to try it and share the review...
DJI OSMO ACTION 4 still cannot solve the issue for cold start when quick record/snapshot is use. Sorry my bad English. Hopefully you guy understand :-)
One question I cannot seem to find an answer to is whether these adapters allow stereo recording from a TRS stereo mic. In fact there seems to be hardly any information on whether the DJI wireless mic 2 can transmit stereo sound from its 3.5mm input
Any chance you know if a USB-C splitter would let me connect two mics to the Action 4? Or perhaps to my iPhone or some other recording device? Trying to figure out how to get multiple audio streams recording at the same time lol
Would you say that the three adapters you mentioned (BY-K4, SR-C2003, and UCMA-1) all work equally fine or are there some differences?
Is the BOYA K2 works on Comica Vimo C3?
So, we can use the Boya adapters for motovlogging, right? I mean, we can reduce the gain to prevent clipping?
Hi! can anyone tell me if with the original osmo audio adapter you can also insert a dj mixer output since the camera has gain adjustment in the audio options. Thanks in advance for any response
does this work with the osmo action 1?
¿best 3.5 to usb c micrpphne adapter for Osmo Pocket 3?
I’m still learning about filmmaking and every turn there’s a new thing to wrap our heads around. It can get confusing as someone who’s dyslexic 😅
Maybe if I just put my exact equipment you could help me KNOW what just works 🙌🏼
My cameras are the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the DJI Action 4 and my audio is the Rode Wireless Pro kit.
I have bought 2 x Boya K4 adapters upon your advice.
Please can you, and/or anyone else confirm it will work fine.
I just want to have the right equipment with my gear and KNOW it will work.
I’m getting confused and my head hurts, Ha!
I have the Rode SC7 cable which allows you to use audio with a smartphone but is that still required if I’m now use the Boya K4 adapter instead of the Apple adapter?
I hope this makes sense 🤔
Back to this video months later... Does the same apply for DJI OP3? Does Boya BY-K4 work with Osmo Pocket 3? I have the creator combo with Mic 2 but sometimes I may use my dual Rode Wireless GO II with it. Anyone tested? Thanks in advance!
The MOVO - UCMA-3 adaptor and Purple Panda lav mic work prefect with the DJI OSMO Action 4. I set the action 4 gain to -9db, and it's perfect for my motovlogging setup... My helmet is a Scorpion ADX-2 and the mic is in the cheek pad... I agree with @momengadget about the quick record issue... there is always a very loud audio level for maybe half a second or so at the beginning of each recording, then it levels off to the set gain level... Great content as always, Wayne.
Hello, with your setup does the camera show the mic level bar?
@@TraveliandoCo HI, yes it does, across the top of the screen.
Does these adapers also work with smart phones?
Great video and amazing audio!
Yes, the BOYA adapters were originally intended for phones that only had USB-C ports.
I guess the audio adapter attenuated for use with the line level output from our powered motorcycle headsets. The cynova adapter for the action 1 was not attenuated, we have to run another connection to do this right. Any idea about the new action 4 update for use with 3rd party bluetooth mics? Or is it just the new dji mic2?
Action 1 could not adjust gain and we needed an additional TRS extension cable with volume knob to knock that gain down. 😂
Only DJI Mic 2 works wirelessly with Action 4 and Pocket 3 without needing a receiver being in between. Talking about how to lock you down into a brand ecosystem. 😉
Would you please clearly let me know what Adapter should I buy for my Osmo action 3 and microphone should be TRRS or TRS?
Lots of love from India🇮🇳
I would recommend Apple USB C to 3.5mm audio adaptor. It work great and with apple quality.
wait... so boya by-k7 can't be used as a mic adapter for dji osmo action 1?
if I am playing drums in a drum cage at church, will I be able to do a line split on my in ear monitor and have one side to my in ears and one side to the dji osmo 4 for drum recording?
It May work with a splitter
Please help. We have the Holyland Lark Max and Osmo Action 4. What should we get to connect the camera to the receiver? Thanks.
While I don't have one, I believe the Hollyland Lark Max can output via USB, so you should be able to connect a USB-C to USB-C cable from the Hollyland Receiver directly into the USB port in your Action 4.
@@WayneRECs thankyou
Yip ,, boya K4 still completely unavailable in UK all these years later .
I am using a BY K-4 and a TRS mic on my action 3. The sound is bad especially when I open the helmet visor...and yes, the mic has a wind muff.
Since the mic is close to my mouth (inside the helmet) it sounds muffled. Even if I lower my voice. Even if I set the DB to -12 (the lowest).
6:56
Sounding muffled is likely due to proximity effect
Does the GoPro audio adapter would also work with DJI osmo action 3?
@@alexcuenta7561 no. GoPro handles USB-C audio differently. Same with insta360. Those cameras require their first party adapters that are exclusive to them.
@@WayneRECs Thanks for helping out Wayne. 🙏
👍🙏
Could you repeat that please ?
Rewind it
i dont think cheap usb c to female trs have any dac at all
??
