Andrew being “too cool” as Peter Parker is a very common criticism, and I get it, however I think people misunderstand what this version was going for, less of a stereotypical textbook nerd and more of a modern, realistic teenager. This Peter Parker was a socially awkward outcast, an angsty skateboarding hipster but also a science nerd, and I think it works because, realistically, people don’t fit into generalised groups, a hipster can also be a science nerd, he’s attractive yes, but that doesn’t guarantee charisma, a person can still be good looking and have bad social skills, evident by his excessive stuttering and general social awkwardness. I’m certainly not against Peter Parker being a stereotypical nerd, I mean, thats who the character traditionally is and I love him, I just think that there’s an expectation in terms of what the character is “supposed” to be, which leaves negative reactions when the character is taken in a different direction.

I think Tom Holland was usually good, but Far From Home ruined it for me, and it's not an acting problem, it's a writing one. FFH totally character assassinated Peter and I hope the next one can kind of repair him.
totally agree! so many things ruined Far From Home for me, starting with it being way more of a marvel movie then a spider-man movie. Then again I am just getting tired of the overly connected universe concept. Its fine for character I dont care about like ant man or even Thor but Spider-man I want a spider-man story not a filling Iron Mans void story. I loved how homecoming ended with Peter deciding he should be a friendly neighborhood Spider-man and not an Avenger, then next time we see him he is an Avenger and then is struggling with filling Tonys shoes. The DCEU has problems but at least in Wonder Woman movies its all about Wonder Woman and Superman movies are about Superman. Marvel every movie has to sell you on the next movie.

In live action? Tobey Maguire, no doubt. Peter Parker is supposed to be a broke, angsty teen from a loving family who accidentally gets superpowers and learns to do the right thing even though life is constantly shits on him. He should not be destined to become Spider-Man because his genius scientist father put his DNA into a spider experiment like in the TASM films and he should definitely not be Iron Man Jr. complete with a high-tech suit.
Toby Maguire is a little crying bitch for all of the movies and is literally a teenager for all of about 3 minutes he graduates in the first film so hes 18 and then by the third film hes about 22 also Tom Holland is the best how exactly you do realize that Peter never asks Tony for help not once ? When hes out saving people he does that by himself does he admire Tony yes who wouldn't hes a billionaire superhero and Peter is a teenager but every final battle that Peter has he needs to defeat them by himself with his own intellect in fact its iron man who needs Peter's help most of the time to fight cap Peter, saved Tony twice from being crushed by monsters, cleaned up mess that Tony made twice and Peter's the one who had the plan to free doctor strange so how would he be ironman jr if Tony wants to help the kid than that's on him I would take a brand new suits or make my own with his technology if I was Peter too why not ? I was wearing goggles and sweatpants before also let's not forget that Peter turned down the avengers the first time and didn't want the gift that Tony left him so how is Peter ironman jr ? Hes a good intelligent kid who made his own web fluid and was a superhero months before he met tony all Tony did was give him some suits thats it
@@tehronmoment1367You know Peter was only in high school for 20 issues right? the majority of Spider-Man comics from 1967-Present depict him as a MAN so him graduating early isn’t a gripe the conception that he’s a kid is from Ultimate Spider-Man (Comic). Even the Tv shows got him being an adult right. Tobey also Superheros by himself no help required (Spider-Man is typically a loner) and Tom IS Iron Man Jr. and shouldn’t have been connected to iron man in the first place so heavily (it would be fine to have a relationship but not a deep rooted one) he goes through the same arc for both films “Im not Iron Man I’m Spider-Man ” which would be fine for Homecoming but it’s repeated in Far From Home. Tom is easily my #3 on my list.
Toby is definitely my favorite Spider-Man followed up by Andrew Garfield being my second favorite but just like my dad will always say his favorite Superman is Christopher Reeves because he grew up with that Superman I grew up with Tobey Maguire Spider-Man so he will always be my favorite and I really hope that his version of Spider-Man will be seen again sometime whether it's just a cameo or a larger role in a spider verse movie as long as he doesn't get killed off like Spider-Man did in into the spider-verse especially with the recent Spider-Man 3 rumors which I hope aren't true

I was going to mention the same thing. Peter B Parker could have a show of his own... A Spider-Man going through a Midlife Crisis show, and it would be great. His voice is perfect for the role. It's a version of Spider-Man that is seperate and a totally new take.
I disagree about Andrew Garfield not being a good Peter, literally the only thing he didn’t do well was being a loser, but there was so much more to Peter Parker, then just “he’s a nerd” and Andrew does a great job in those situations.
Yessss! People always forget that Peter stopped being a loser once he became Spiderman. And there's a slight difference between being a nerd and being a looser. Even the MCU movies get that right. The Amazing series took a lot of inspiration from the Romita and Conway's run and that Peter was a cool guy.
@@leafyishereisdumbnameakath4259 the only things I didn't like about Andrew was he wasn't Tobey Maguire(that's what I thought when the first amazing spider-man film came out)and that he wasn't really a hero per say more like a vigilante
Like what tho? I agree there’s more to Peter than nerd, but Garfield’s Peter didn’t portray Peter’s money problems, hardly did anything with high school and college, and didn’t deal with his struggles of finding/maintaining his job, so I ask what these other elements are that you say he did a good job on?
@@Albino_Basilisk we don’t see him struggling to keep a job because he’s in High School, and we do see him struggling to keep up with his schedule, as it’s stated repeatedly that he’s late all the time, Those movies also nail his intelligence better than the Raimi and MCU movies. We see him use his intelligence to defeat both the Lizard and (most notably) electro
The problem with MCU Peter Parker is that he isn’t written consistently between the movies. When the Russo Brothers in charge, he’s written much more accurate to the comics. When it’s Jon Watts, he’s written to be a lot more naive and some of his powers (Spider-Sense mostly) come and go between the movies so much, they made it a plot point in Far From Home. I think that’s what most people don’t like but it’s not something that’s really noticed too much because of his consistent relationship with Tony Stark and the whole Iron Man Jr. storyline.
I don't know why but the Spiderman from the amazing spiderman videogames is my favorite Spiderman. For me he had the best voice for Spiderman even though he was in mediocre games. Going entirely off of who closest resembles the comics there’s no question it would be tobey. Yes Spider-Man is humorous and is at times sarcastic but he has also witnessed unbelievable tragedy and heartbreak so much so to the point that in the comics he develops ptsd. He is also traditionally a loner with even the few friends he does have not being that close to him and tobey literally personified that. He also showed an extraordinary amount of heroism and responsibility for example in Spider-Man 2 when he loses his abilities but still risks his life to save a child from a burning building. So when you look at most comically accurate it’s maguire. Now as far as most cinematic and over the top and perfect for blockbuster movies no doubt that is Tom Holland because he just has an amazing youthful energy about him and his stunts and high flying acrobatics are way over the top but he shows a great deal of immaturity and lack of responsibility when it comes to being Spider-Man such as in far from home when he turned down facing the elementals to enjoy his school field trip, that is not Spider-Man behavior whatsoever. Finally, Andrew Garfield portrayed the role he was written to perfection but sadly that whole story was just a mess especially the back story of him searching for what really happened to his parents they tried a new take and it failed miserably. They all have their strengths but the greatest comics representation is Maguire.
Where any Spider-Man is concerned, especially 90s cartoon Spider-Man, one of the most defining characteristics of his fighting style was never shutting up. Anyone that doesn't realize that, isn't paying attention.
The best Spider-Man for you would be which Spider-Man of Spider-Man is highlighted. 90’s Spider-Man: Always met other MCU characters and interacting with them. Smart, engaging, and world building. Sam Raimi: A truly human Spider-Man. If Spider-Man really ever existed in the real world, Raimi’s ideal version is it. The character (yet quirky) very emotionally stable and has handled with the most trauma. Spectacular: Honestly the magnum ops of any Spider-Man in my opinion. Started at the beginning but not at the origin. Juggling between Spider-Man and Peters life was handled well. Making characters feel human with real motivations. Never forget when they made Sandman stop for that lil girl at the beach to build her a sand castle. Heart-warming, those weren’t monsters but ppl just like Spider-Man. It really shines at his rogue gallery. Amazing: Interesting take on the character showing clashing characteristics. Nerdy but confident. Smart but blind to things emotionally. This one really shows his intellect if anything.... to be the first Spider-Man on film to develop web. I honestly think this version never got the responsibility part down. Instead he just embraces his powers. Re-writing it I would have pinned this Spider-Man against the impossible. No big boss villain. Just him saving ppl giving it his ALL, having flashes of Uncle Ben with His Parents in the background saying “let go Peter.” multiple times having him refuse to die and let go of the trauma he carries with his death in his family, which gives him the second wind to save everyone. SM2 and Homecoming has these responsibility scenes. Not even in one amazing. Holland: Visually appealing, wise cracks on point, smart but not quite intelligent as 90’s. Gifted tech and definitely has the RESPONSIBILITY part down, but it feels intrusive. It makes sense cause he would be intrusive, that’s why he’s annoying 😂 Games: PS4, Ultimate, Friend or foe
my ideal take on peter/spidey would be one where theres a definitive distinction between the 2 identities at first. Then as time goes on elements from each persona kinda bleed over to one another with peter getting more confident and spidey getting a bit more awkward. Basically the line between the 2 personas becoming more and more blurred as the double life gets harder and harder to maintain over the years. hes constantly overwhelmed and it gets worse and worse and worse until one day his identity is revealed. he no longer has a choice in whether or not people know and he has to live with that. Like no way home but much more gradual and without the depressing cop out ending.
I would've had Yuri Lowenthawl, or however his name is pronounced, mostly due to how similar his role as teenage Ben 10. I bet it was super easier to take off the watch and slip into the spider suit for him

I only think Tobey did terrific as Peter Parker but even as a kid to this day I still have mixed feelings for him as Spider-Man cause when did make jokes it kinda sounded corny.
To this day, Christopher Daniel Barnes is the Spider-Man voice I hear in my head when I read comic books. He's the definitive Spider-Man to me.
Me too 🙂👍
I can understand tom Holland being just third I feel the same cause his role was too tied to Tony, he's an impressive child character as teenage Peter that was incredible to me.
I think Tom Holland was usually good, but Far From Home ruined it for me, and it's not an acting problem, it's a writing one. FFH totally character assassinated Peter and I hope the next one can kind of repair him.
I agree completely.
totally agree! so many things ruined Far From Home for me, starting with it being way more of a marvel movie then a spider-man movie.

I'm guessing you never read Ultimate Spider-Man huh?
Hes a good intelligent kid who made his own web fluid and was a superhero months before he met tony all Tony did was give him some suits thats it
@@tehronmoment1367 Tom sucks, get the fuck out of here
@@tehronmoment1367You know Peter was only in high school for 20 issues right? the majority of Spider-Man comics from 1967-Present depict him as a MAN so him graduating early isn’t a gripe the conception that he’s a kid is from Ultimate Spider-Man (Comic). Andrew was more based on the ultimate spider-man comics, thats why Peter is so cool.
I disagree about Andrew Garfield not being a good Peter, literally the only thing he didn’t do well was being a loser, but there was so much more to Peter Parker, then just “he’s a nerd” and Andrew does a great job in those situations.
yeah amen
I think that’s what most people don’t like but it’s not something that’s really noticed too much because of his consistent relationship with Tony Stark and the whole Iron Man Jr. storyline.
This is a terribly hard decision I can say my favorite writer of spider man was Stan Lee

You should make a sequel
Hey Vee can you do a top 5 worst spider-men and/or batman ps love the vids keep up the good work.
It makes sense cause he would be intrusive, that’s why he’s annoying 😂
Games: PS4, Ultimate, Friend or foe
Spectacular spider-man is my favorite and one of the best
Woah woah woah.
You’re telling me you’ve NEVER seen Spectacular Spider-Man?
Hold on, man, you gotta fix that ASAP.
Rino Ramaro was the voice of spiderman in the 90's spiderman unlimited cartoon series.
Would love a part 2 and a Wonder Woman episode
my ideal take on peter/spidey would be one where theres a definitive distinction between the 2 identities at first.
