Guess I’m not the only Human who loves Batman Forever and Val Kilmer’s Batman/Bruce Wayne. I absolutely love the film and Kilmer as Batman, he’s my #3. Keaton is my #1 right next to him is Kevin because Kevin is Kevin and a legend- #2. I agree with many of your points Vee about the actors. Also for your Reyes Info, Keatons Bruce is nearly a perfect adaptation of the 1939 out of place Bruce Wayne.
Christian Bale actually did his voice what he use in the first movie then Nolan wanted to change it so Christian Bale had to voice act over his acting
The difference between a voice and an actual act is very miniscule, if not even noticable. But both seek to accomplish the very same thing. That is the portrayal of the character.
Totally agree ab Kevin Conroy. Hamill and Conroy are not the characters they are simply the voices. Maybe the best voices, but it's Pattinson and Ledger for me

For the "live action intimidation" affleck is fucking terrifying as the Bat. This absolutely bricked out monster of a man ready to pummel you into a pink paste on the ground. And he wasn't even fighting all the time.
Kevin Conroy did something very incredible. He was able to not only make a beloved character that much more beloved but also became an icon with just his voice. Even if he doesn’t “look the part”, his voice IS BATMAN.
One thing I loved about Kevin's voice acting was he had two different voices for Bruce Wayne and Batman
As Bruce he had a softer and calmer voice
As Batman he went deeper and more aggressive
And it fits perfectly

I have a bias to Christian bale I grew up on them I love his Bruce Wayne and I love his Batman no matter how dumb some people think his Batman voice is I like it
Michael Keaton hands down. He changed the way batman was presented. Every batman after him has replicated or took alot of influence from keatons batman.
Obviously it's Kevin Conroy, but live action? I could see Battinson taking it, but as of now it's Keaton imo.

Conroy will always hold my vote because of the animated show, movies, video games, etc. and all the mediums he’s portrayed TDK. All the other actors have their faults and flaws but they also have their pros and individualistic skills playing the part. Ho fa SHO!

1. Kevin Conroy. The GOAT rest in peace to the best Batman.
2. Michael Keaton, The Flash bump him up my list.
3. Robert Pattinson. Great take of a young Batman learning to become the hero of Gotham.
4. Bruce Greenwood. Great voice for Batman in both Batman Under the Red Hood and Young Justice.
5. Ben Affleck. Hated his writing in BVS and Josstice League but redeemed himself in ZSJL and the Flash.
Honorable mention Christian Bale.
Great Bruce Wayne and a good Batman in Batman begins but his voice change in The Dark Knight and Rises kinda took him off the list for me.

I think it is arguable Ben Affleck had the most potential for a portrayal of Batman. But because of bad writing and I would say bad timing it just won’t come into fruition.
The actors that portray the DCEU characters aren’t badly casted at all, except for Ezra Miller as The Flash.
Val Kilmer had brown hair in Batman Forever not blond.
Honestly, I always liked Val Kilmer as Batman. Even as a kid i thought he did a really good job of differentiating Bruce from Batman.
Troy baker was my favorite because he not only can portray Bruce and Batman so well but also the joker.

The Dark Knight trilogy is Batman's peak. The best acting, the best stories, one of the best looks, Christian Bale is number 1.
For live action films I would definitely say Nolan's films are the best we've gotten, but I'm not sure I'd say they were the absolute best that the character had to offer in any medium. BTAS, the larger DC Animated Universe and several of the Batman animated films gave us some real quality content for the character. Mask of the Phantasm, Return of the Joker and Under the Red Hood were all gold as far as Batman content goes.
Nolan's Batman is highly overrated to me! Batman Begins is great, The Dark Knight is good and TDKR is pretty bad to me! Christian Bale's bat voice was so silly, i couldn't take him seriously, whatsoever! He was a great Bruce Wayne, but not a good Batman! Kevin Conroy is the best Batman and Keaton to me is the best life action one! Also, I like Burton's Batman films a lot more then Nolan's ones!
Dcau Batman for me is the best. We see him from his childhood to his old age as we really see his inner struggle and his inner strength. Kevin conroy is Batman for me and that won’t change for a long time

Yep. Whenever I think of Batman, Conroy's portrayal is always the one that comes to mind. There have been other good Batman performances, but for me at least, no one has ever come close to topping Conroy. Same with Mark Hamill and the Joker honestly.

Don't worry bro, they have to redo this list once this year. We are getting three different live action versions of Batman in movies. What a time to be as Batman fans. We sure are going to get some interesting debates following this about who is best Batman. At end of 2021 we get spidermans, now we are getting batmans. What's next supermans.
Voice acting can be just as hard as acting in front of the camera.
Roger Clark who played Arthur Morgan in RDR2 explained it best.

To express yourself without any facial expressions/body language is extremely difficult. I'd say voice acting is as difficult as normal acting.

In the 1970s Batman became darker again in the comics but remained more family friendly in other media such as the new adventures of Batman cartoon and the various Super Friends cartoons, while being dark in the comics, the first appearance of a dark Batman outside of the comics was in Batman 89, which contained in its sequel Batman Returns, as well as the DCAU, Dark Knight trilogy, DCEU, DCAMU, and various other video games, cartoons, and movies. My favorites are probably Michael Keaton, Kevin Conroy, Will Arnett, and Troy Baker. Honorable mention goes to Diedrich Bader
Bruce Greenwood would have to be on the list for me. One could argue that he simply mimicked the Kevin Conroy aesthetic but he offered a different one in my opinion to the point where I can make a distinction between the two. For those who don't know, he played Batman in Under the Red Hood and Young Justice. My preference for his voice is like how you described Roger Craig Smith only I prefer Bruce Greenwood. I think many of my choices would be derivations of Kevin Conroy because he is the gold standard of a Batman performance, so voices like Rino Romano who played in 2004s The Batman, or Anthony Ruivivar who played in Beware the Batman. Voices that are similar and have influenced so they are enjoyable to me, but are different enough to where I would not call them copies. I was considering maybe Jason O'Mara who played in the DCAU in the past few years but I think his voice is kind of goofy sometimes. This is the internet so I have the freedom to voice my opinions to anyone who asks "who asked" or similar. I don't care for the similarity of voices because the question is the "best" batman interpretations so if they copy the best, they naturally will be good. So I would say maybe...

Rino Romano has to be one of my top 3 Batmen to.
He plays Bruce Wayne beautifully and he has a good Batman voice that changes as he matures throughout it's 5 season run.
Everyone craps on Bale's voice but, aside from Affleck's Voice Modulator, he's the ONLY one that actually TRIED to disguise his voice! If I heard any of the other actors talking to me and they than put on a Bat costume, talking to me in THE SAME VOICE, I'd instantly recognize them!

@@t74guard78 batman isnt a hulking behemoth usually. Bale was ripped. And he actually gained a lot of muscle. Maybe even as much as Affleck we'll never know. Because the costume crew said he wouldn't fit. Affleck is the most accurate and no not just because he's ripped. His face shape, his demeanor and everything. Since you think Batman is the perfect specimen I'm guessing (which is fair enough) you're not gonna like me complimenting the kid from Gotham. His face doesn't look the part of an older Bruce maybe because he's a kid maybe not. But he carries himself so perfectly as Bruce and a future Batman.
I think reyes loves Robert Pattinson as Batman cause he's literally the live action version of Kevin Conroy as Batman... Do this list again adding Robert. Plsss

Overall Michael Keaton was my favourite. He wasn't the best Bruce Wayne or the best Batman, but he was the best at the Batman conflict - sometimes he would "accidentally" be Bruce while Batman, and be Batman while dressed as Bruce. He was merely ok at the two roles, but was my favourite for portraying the inner conflict between the two and the identity confusion he's famous for (and showed it as "unstable" and not "crazy").

Well Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton are returning as Batmans in the new Flash movie!! I am excited for that just to see them!!
I agree with Reyes. Of course Conroy is *THEE* voice for Batman, but at the end of the day that’s all he is, the *voice* of Batman. He’s not getting into shape, building muscles, take fight choreography lessons, putting on the suit, (which is a pain in the a55 apparently) get in front of the camera and acting the part. No anywhere near as the other actors anyway.
So I hold actors like Ben Affleck, Michael Keaton and Val Kilmer in higher regards as the character

The point of it in the video is that Bales Batman comes across as trying too hard to be scary when Batman doesn’t have to try, his presence alone makes him terrifying
@@bamaboyz8978 I'll say this Keaton's, Affleck's , Kilmer's and Bale's first appearances as Batman live action all go it spot on (Keaton's was the best ...he held that criminal over the ledge with seriousness and calm rage)
He should be viewed as spectre, a supernatural Force, feared by all even the victims and all of them captured that

Unfortunately, they lost the license to sell their DC productions, but what they used to have up was top notch. Richard's Batman was very good, as was his Joker. He did both voices AND narration for Batman: Dead White, Batman: Inferno, and I think Batman: No Man's Land as well. He also played Batman in some Justice League stuff they did.

@@randomnerd3402 same here, I remember when it was first announced, people hated the concept because they dredded the return of anything close to the Silver Age era of the character and yet as soon as it aired, most people fell in love with the show and it kind of played a role in a recent reappraisal of the less dark version of the character.

Bale’s the best live action performance of Batman. Conroy’s the best vocal performance of Batman.
