If you're a newbie and none of this really makes sense, don't stress. Once you get more practice in, especially pvp, it will all come instinctually. Don't give up, keep practicing.
Dude omg you videos on this are like 15/10... also we had a wicked good time at the Skunks vs LR matchup, you guys rocked us hard but it was such a great learning opportunity.
Wow, this was so good. I saw you do this on your last stream. But being able to watch slower, and multiple times is going to be very helpful. Thank you for this.
Your guides are so clear and concise it helps out so much. It would be cool to see some more unedited training clips like that last section if your up for it.
@@JohnathanWinters No, only the youtube tutorials. I’m a noob fighter at SC, but I have my dual sticks, pedals and trackir and with this videos of you and some practice every I feel more confortable 😙 I will search your twitch channel for this stream. A pedal configuration tutorial will be nice. Or how is the best way to use it for a new player that never use it… 🤗

One of my biggest issues is matching velocity. I grew up on the X-Wing/TieFighter games, and there was a match velocity function that made it very simple to stay behind a target. SC appears to have a match velocity in the key bind settings but for the life of me I can't figure out to use it
That's because the match velocity function was removed for some reason but they left the keybind. My guess is it was causing some problems so they turned it off, but haven't had time to go back and fix it.
I have a request. Would it be possible to illustrate some of your dogfights with another pilot "filming"? It would give the audience a much better idea of your relative speeds and positioning than when we see it in first person. Doing this in atmosphere may help even more to orient the viewer.
@@JohnathanWinters I wasn't very clear, my apologies. I was wondering if there could be a 3rd pilot following and filming the dogfight between you and your opponent. I do realize that this requires a lot more effort on your part to organize.
Amazing video, how would you recommend HOTAS setup for controls? My pedals are unused but there's no point having anything on the throttle other than throttle.
My virpil stick comes in today along with the cosmo cams. I remember u giving advice on a stream of what to look out for during the install, but I don't remember exactly what. All I remember is u said 1 part tears another up if not installed correctly. Do u by any chance remember what components of the warbrd base u were referring to?
Hey Jixer, I remember, like I said last time, Just use one stick as reference for the other and you'll be okay. The cable to watch out for is the one that goes from the outside into the joystick. Copy the other stick 1:1
I would copy one, but I only have 1 virpil for my left...my right is a winwing f16 stick and a orion 2 base with cams pretty much exactly like the cosmos...it has no center and decently strong springs with no twist so my right stays locked. Its also entirely metal which I wish virpil would do with its premium sticks. Not that any of that matters, just random thoughts. Anyways, I really appreciate the advice JW. Hope to get a few dogfights with u once I'm all setup and dialed in. Cya in the verse ✌
@@JohnathanWinters The swap to cosmos went well, extra attention to that wire and cip sets is def solid advice. Do u know if u upgraded the strength of the springs? With the cosmos on i feel like my stick needs a little viagra, its so floppy with these stock springs.
@@jixer1495 Glad it went well, you'll get use to it. As long as your sticks hold center you're fine. The heavier the springs the more exhausting, combat gets.

I like the explanation but the music is quite distracting. It needs to be lower and not there

You build the skill the more you play, if you look at hud when you target you get a relative velocity on the bottom. If it's 0ms you're matched.

My question is, how do you do all the stuff without the setup. Can a mouse player do this or can you do it with just one joystick?
What music are you using here? I love it. Try turning it down just a little bit. Solid content Johnathan.
