And after he's been told that it'll be done in five minutes Kirbo is like "Yeah, I should be able to beat whatever this is before it's done."
Oh, i think I interpreted that as him trying to call for assistance, but there's only 5 mins left on the timer so obviously they don't want the souffle to burn, can't come help, and kirbo just takes that to mean he's gotta pull up the belt and go do it himself. I think I like yours better.

Kirbo, being a cosmic horror himself of course wouldn't be freaked out by anything he saw on Shiver Star. Aedeline, on the other hand, is a human who likely perceives everything as a human would. With her limited understanding of the universe everything so colorful and joyous to Kirbo would be absolutely terrifying and nightmarish. A good contrast I think.
I love how the completed Crystal zapped the Queen for quite literally no reason. No darkness came out of her or anything. Dark Star just sorta showed up seconds later.
This game's non-100% ending was my first experience with a bad ending as a kid. It was always weird to me because I thought, "Well the whole game's done? Why are the bad guys still around? Why can't I play another level to beat them?" Then later on in life I learned about secret endings and even later ended up buying the game on the Wii shop and 100%ing it. Let me tell you, beating 02 and seeing the true ending brought me a whole bunch of closure I didn't even know I could have.

At 7:35, you might not appreciate how funny this moment is if you haven't played this game. In the actual game of The Crystal Shards, Ribbon (the fairy) uses the assembled pieces of the Crystal to create portals for the friends to travel from star to star. But once you have assembled 100% of the Crystal Shards, you are no longer able to use the Crystal. That's why, for the first and only time in the game, Kirby uses his cell phone to call home, and have his Warp Star sent to him. But in this animation, the friends have been travelling via Warp Star the whole time. So, our animator friend had to think of a reason for the moment of Kirby calling home to happen. And why does he call home? He just wants to know how long until the cake finishes baking, so he knows if he has time to trounce the final boss before snack time. I don't know. It just really cracks me up that know how the original game goes, and how different this is.

As far as story reasons go, the Crystal on Ripple Star has a lot of magical power, which is exactly why the queen asks Ribbon to take the Crystal and run away when Dark Matter invades. One of the later cutscenes shows that when the Crystal is at full strength, it has the power to repel Dark Matter. And since Dark Star has just appeared, the people of Ripple Star need the Crystal's protection. So, Kirby and his friends give the Crystal back to them. (...Heh. If only the game version of Kirby just had the power of God and poyo on his side.)
I just love how Dedede, the _penguin_ wearing a _full-length fur-lined coat_ is the one shivering on shiver star. I also wonder whether Kirbo was asking for help from the others, or just asking how much longer he had until the cake was ready.

It’s interesting that Kirby and the rest of the non-human characters clearly have some sort of fantasy vision of the universe, while Adeleine doesn’t. What is a fun playscape land for Kirby is a post-apocalyptic wasteland for her. I shudder to think about what she might be seeing when Kirby (even in his fantasy vision) sees a monster.

Adelaine being terrified of the mall is honestly kind of relatable.I remember my first play through of Kirby 64 and being existentially horrified by the fact that this used to contain humans. I like how they made Adeliene see "shiver star" for the way it truly is- horrifying instead of how kirby and the others see it. Adeline is human and one of the only "humans" in the entire franchise - I feel as though everything on shiver star like this would pretty much be abandoned but still invaded. and she sees it as terrifying because well earth is scary especially with all of what we consider cute in kirby's world.
It would probably be a mix of fear Melancholy and a little bit of wonder because at least the scenery paintings she seen of Earth kind of resemble the real thing

If I remember correctly, Zero-Two was born from Void, which takes the shape of something amazingly good or evil depending on positive or negative feelings, respectively. Kirby was able to completely change Zero-Two with purity and kindness, and I think that’s such a cool and clever touch upon Kirby Lore.

I like how zero two is the only one of kirbo's enemies to stop kirbo from unleashing god's wrath and thrashing it instantly. It really shows how zero two is an almost unstoppable force of nature.
Adeline's vs Kirby's perspective of Shiver Star leads me to believe that Kirby outright sees things in their cutest version or something along those lines. Dunno if it'll be a one off gag but the entierity of the Shiver Star Scene was brilliant.

I love how the completed Crystal zapped the Queen for quite literally no reason. No darkness came out of her or anything. Dark Star just sorta showed up seconds later.

This game's non-100% ending was my first experience with a bad ending as a kid. It was always weird to me because I thought, "Well the whole game's done? Why are the bad guys still around? Why can't I play another level to beat them?" Then later on in life I learned about secret endings and even later ended up buying the game on the Wii shop and 100%ing it. Let me tell you, beating 02 and seeing the true ending brought me a whole bunch of closure I didn't even know I could have.

At 7:35, you might not appreciate how funny this moment is if you haven't played this game. In the actual game of The Crystal Shards, Ribbon (the fairy) uses the assembled pieces of the Crystal to create portals for the friends to travel from star to star. But once you have assembled 100% of the Crystal Shards, you are no longer able to use the Crystal. That's why, for the first and only time in the game, Kirby uses his cell phone to call home, and have his Warp Star sent to him.
But in this animation, the friends have been travelling via Warp Star the whole time. So, our animator friend had to think of a reason for the moment of Kirby calling home to happen. And why does he call home? He just wants to know how long until the cake finishes baking, so he knows if he has time to trounce the final boss before snack time.
I don't know. It just really cracks me up that know how the original game goes, and how different this is.
I thought he was calling his friends, but they're in the middle of baking.

@@dusksunsetio6042 Well, admittedly, you do use the Crystal as a weapon in the true final boss fight. (Or... the weapon might be just part of it? It isn't quite clear.)
As far as story reasons go, the Crystal on Ripple Star has a lot of magical power, which is exactly why the queen asks Ribbon to take the Crystal and run away when Dark Matter invades. One of the later cutscenes shows that when the Crystal is at full strength, it has the power to repel Dark Matter. And since Dark Star has just appeared, the people of Ripple Star need the Crystal's protection. So, Kirby and his friends give the Crystal back to them.
(...Heh. If only the game version of Kirby just had the power of God and poyo on his side.)

It's okay that some of you won't like some of the things I put in my videos, I encourage you to watch content that you enjoy and support other great creators if you find you no longer enjoy my content. No hard feelings, do what makes you happy. I spent years working for other people and I stopped doing that in 2017 because I was miserable making things I didn't want to make because I had to pay the bills. I'm grateful for the opportunity I have and I don't take it for granted. When I make my videos, I understand I'm making them for an audience, but I'm also making them for me.
These videos are not something I can whip up in a week, it takes a month's worth of FULL TIME WORK ( 40 hours a week, at times, 50 or more) to make ONE video. If I'm spending that much time on something, I'm going to make something that makes me laugh. Christian Kirbo makes me laugh and, as long as that's true, Christian Kirbo stays.

I like how they made Adeliene see "shiver star" for the way it truly is- horrifying instead of how kirby and the others see it. Adeline is human and one of the only "humans" in the entire franchise - I feel as though everything on shiver star like this would pretty much be abandoned but still invaded. and she sees it as terrifying because well earth is scary especially with all of what we consider cute in kirby's world.

If I remember correctly, Zero-Two was born from Void, which takes the shape of something amazingly good or evil depending on positive or negative feelings, respectively. Kirby was able to completely change Zero-Two with purity and kindness, and I think that’s such a cool and clever touch upon Kirby Lore.

@@CherryBomb_Games its not canon as it was never expressed outright. its just what fans believe based on the fact that the planet itself has the continent silhouettes while being obvious there was human settlement there. but forgotten land also has the same exact presence going on but isnt stuck in a perpetual winter like shiver star. its equally as valid from a fan perspective to say forgotten land is also earth despite both being completely different locations. so unless the devs say something, neither is canon earth.
I think when humans started experimenting with Dimensions in kirby shiver start was a result this is where humanity after there first erath got well screwed up until they screwed up the second time

Adeline's vs Kirby's perspective of Shiver Star leads me to believe that Kirby outright sees things in their cutest version or something along those lines. Dunno if it'll be a one off gag but the entierity of the Shiver Star Scene was brilliant.

Adeline seeing things as they really are is a great perspective to ponder throughout this whole animation. I would have loved more POV shots from her or a spinoff animation even, I think there's a lot you can do with that.
