Really great guide!
Just one suggestion for mouse users I have learned (even though I use VKBs myself):
Instead of changing the VJoy range/pitch settings, set a key (on a mouse button if possible) for
Flight - Movement -> Cycle mouse mode (VJoy / Relative)
this switches your mouse movement between (fast) turning (VJoy) and precision aiming mode (Relative).
It's pretty much the same as using a turret and pressing Q to switch between VJoy & FPS mode
Great tip! Pinning this message.
Very well done video. Informative and loving the relaxed vibe while explaining things. Looking forward to more videos from you.
What a nicely done video. Thanks Noodle o7 for providing valuable information to the community!
Hopefully it helps!
Really amazing guide. And the amount of detail and work you put into these videos is amazing! Honestly, your videos should be made mandatory for new players to watch. So informative and helpful. Thank you!
Great Video. As a returning player after a 3 year absents. You just showed me 10 plus things in the setting menu I have been googling like crazy to find answer to, how and why they work. And you answered all those questions in one video. Can't wait to see your upcoming combat training videos. Best Damn spoder owner in the VERSE,
I'm glad the video was able to help!
Thank you for the video! Found it very useful
Well done, this is a terrific essay, nicely edited and narrated, you can be proud of this.
You're the first one to give me straight answers to things I've been wondering about ship combat. Very, very much obliged. Will try for sure.
Absolutely killing the foray into YT vids, noodle. Bravo
Good job Noodle! Very useful, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
These new videos you're making are amazing! So well made and full of great information. Also as someone who wants to learn dogfighting but feel a little overwhelmed by it, this is very appreciated. I don't know if you are looking for suggestions for other videos, but if you are i have been looking for someone to go through the basics of what to think about during flight in combat, and i know i'm not the only one looking for that :) I know that i'm not supposed to fly fast in combat, but that's about it. So if you want to go make a video like this where you go through what you think about during dogfighting that would be awesome. Anyway I love your videos. Stay awesome
Thanks for the feedback, suggestions for videos really help. You'll be pleased to know that I'm already working on a "Basic Flight Maneuvers" video and these are things that I'll be touching on in that video. It won't be the next video, but likely the one after that.
Great video Noodle! I really enjoyed watching it. I'm looking forward to the next one.
More to come!
Phenomenal upload. Really appreciate this breakdown. Happy holidays!
Happy holidays!
Subscribed! This is very well done. Im usually a quick learner but you gsve me tips i never even thought of. Thank you!
amazing video! looking forward to the series with Mike
Sharing your expert knowledge, thank you Noodle! 🙏
My pleasure!
Really liking your latest tutorials. Thx Noodle
Great video showing a TON of tricks, tips, and directions that will help SO many pilots.
Glad you enjoyed it!
loving these videos, I watched your first one when that released and now this one
Lately I've been looking to get into pvp so having this as a reference on where to look at to enhance my skills is nice. Bravo to you and your excellent editing skills
Cheers for the comprehensive guide dude!
Any time!
Probably the most useful and understandable guide for this subject as far I know! Cheers from France
Awesome video, keep the long form videos coming!
That's the plan!
Wow, the quality of this tutorial and how you explain everything is great. Def going to be saving this to review again when I'm ready to return to the 'verse.
Thanks man! Appreciated :D
Love the ending, class!
Thanks man!
Really Really helpful. I have been back and playing for the first time again in 3.22. Things have changed so much, so this is really informative to get back in the fight.
Thanks for this!
I'm glad it helped!
love it! well done brother!
Glad you liked it!
Really clean, good pace, solid info!
The quality of these videos makes me excited for the next ones.
Already working on the next!
High quality video! Keep up the good work.
Thank you!
Great video, very helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for sharing the info and tips!
This is a very helpful video, Moist. Thank you.
As a new player who started about a month ago gotta say this guide helped me out then some others iv searched thanks again for this informative video.
Useful information for all types of flight not just combat. Thanks!
Nice video! Covered basically everything.. I'm currently in the process of getting the saturation for my strafes dialed in, im on dual VKB and by now back to 1.0 curves, found the saturation lowered to be quite useful tho.
I'm definitely bookmarking this video for our new members for the explanation of VJoy settings alone, that would have helped me a lot back on mkb :D
I really appreciate your perspective on dogfighting man. Lots of pvpers have an ego but your video was more helpful than anything
What a great video bro! Thank you!
Just got into PvP so this came at a perfect time. Thank you!
I hope it helps!
Very well done dude. You hit every setting I check when I have to redo my settings or set someone else up (except I do turn off the g-force induced head movement stuff as well). This is definitely THE video I will be sharing to get people going. I really loved the terminology pop-ups - very clean. It's the perfect way to get across the lingo. Use them more, please! :)
Thanks for the feedback! I spent a lot of time learning to make motion graphics like the terminology popups, so I'll definitely be using them more in the future. I'm going to be looking into using motion graphics more to demonstrate things I'm trying to explain. The ESP motion graphic was a little experient into this.
Glad to finally have you properly here on TH-cam 🙌🙏🤗
✌️🖖
Thank you for the guide!
Great video Noodle, good tips all round. I'm sure it'll help the new flyers and even a fair few of the not so new. ;)
Hope so!
Thankyou, some very useful information and good video. I will definitely be trying out the vjoy deadzone setting for mouse. The zig zagging on target you described is something I've definitely be fighting against.
Hopefully it helps!
you might wanna check my pinned message instead for more control
@@pbond21 thanks will do
This flight course give us a certificate of conclusion when its done? XD
Amazing content, man. Thanks for that!
Great vid and high quality editing - your time and effort on it shows!
Much appreciated!
Excellent video, thanks!
Glad you liked it!
great video, and as always remember to hydrate when playing long sessions.
Great video thanks for the fantastic info.
Nice video. I'm not familiar with dogfighting so this video will help me learn.
Nicely done Noodle! Excellent production value. Was thinking your segways were a bit long and could be shorter to keep the length down. But as this is not a fast paced info dump and the cinematics are great, keep them. This was a nice way to spend a work break!!
Thank you! I wanted to pace the video in such a way as to let people absorb the current topic before moving onto the next.
You are killing it with the vids, dude!
Thank you! Can't wait to get the next one out.
Another banger. I learned stuff!
Always watched your Twitch streams, nice to see you spreading your combat experience in the TH-cam realm.
More to come!
Thanks for the guide!! New sub.
I'm not new to SC at all but I found this guide invaluable. Until now I thought I understood coupling and decoupling, but you've made it much easier to understand and when to use it.
Great guide Moist - 5⭐'s
I appreciate you Brimstone!
Another great video!! Thanks
Thanks for watching!
this is the best content I have come across for aiding SC newbies to veterans alike when it comes to combat.
Great video dude.
Great video. You covered 8 out of 10 items I've had questions about.
What are the two I missed?!
Great vid. I'd love to see one done by you for just general flying and maybe some of the less known flight controls. Like I see so many over look things like thruster power controls.
Yusss, I 100% back the idea of two FOV sliders!
Also noce seeing you start up a youtube didnt notice it till today. Watched you on twitch years ago but im rarely on twitch. Now ill subscribe here.
Thank you!
Fantastic video!
Thank you!
Thanks for this well done guide! What you may add is a description of the LEAD/LAG PIP!
I originally had a section dedicated to lead/lag pip but decided to move it into my basic flight maneuvers video so I could talk about it with a bit more depth than I could fit into this video.
Subscribed! 👍
Compelled to mention how good these tutorial videos are! I have been coming back here to refresh my memory on a few things, for as long as this video has been up, and I cannot see where you could improve upon it. Excellent, (and I am sure time-consuming and difficult), content and extremely helpful. Keep them coming, please. While I'm here, did I miss the Salty Mike tutorial... if not, are you working on that and is there an e.t.a on the series you intended to make, or are you guys too busy right now? Many thanks.
Great stuff, thanks!
Glad you liked it!
There we go just what I needed.
Thank you for a very helpfull guide.
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome content!
Glad you think so!
Noodles always informative
You can do a FOV/ZOOM slider on a joystic for dynamic for change
great video! got some work to do.
Thank you!
Right, I'm going to try all of these and if I'm not a PvP super chad by the end of the month, I'll be writing to my MP!
As long as you don't ask for your money back!
Great video and great streamer
Great job!
Thank you! Cheers!
This is the most comprehensive video I've seen for all these settings, I appreciate you so much
Thanks for watching!
This is a very thorough guide, thank you! I noticed you never talked about key binds for power modes (engines/shields/weapons), do you not switch between them?
Another quality production, This is going straight to the pool room.
Thank you!
Excellent video! I'm really curious about head-tracking manual gimbals now, as I've never heard of that being used.
Aondo is the first person I've seen doing it. It definitely takes some skill though.
Don't shoot me! Shoot Jayce! He's much bigger and friendlier than me! Great video with some good and lasting tips!
Control your speed and stay close folks!
Thanks for the shout out!
Awesome guide
GREAT JOB!
Thank you!
Great video, Noodle. I will recomend it to all rookie pilots in the future.
Thanks man!
Bro i love your video style
Thank you!
Great guide! but need one for the maneuvres in decoupled mode to learn how to drift!
Recently I adjusted my joystick curves and found it gives much greater control on subtle movements. The flight tended to lurch as I pushed the thrust forward or strafed but now its much better. Good for landing in tight places or getting close to derelicts.
Joystick curves are something I'm going to touch on in my Basic Flight Maneuvers video, coming soon!
Looking forward to it.@@Moist_Noodle
Very nice ❤
Noodle! vids are good dude
I'd love to see a more in depth video on how to dial in ESP and curves especially for joystick. I find if I change these I don't know how to measure if the setting is better or worse. I'd love to build some muscle memory but don't want to do it on a bad foundation. Love your work!
Literally just finished scripting a video on this topic, should be out either tomorrow or the day after.
Nice guide, if i can get the game running it could be very useful :)
Fantastic video my friend! -Hank
Many thanks!
good job moist
Flawless content 👍
Thank you!
some nice vids!
thanks for this moist
Learning to be a combat player after a life of industrial. Thanks a million!
Im one of those veteran industrialists who has only ever done a PVE bounty or three. Great vid to be mindful of whats important.
Hopefully it will help you explore new gameplay!
Shift also works as a spacebrake when w is not pressed
Only in coupled right?
Great video Noodle. I would love you to answer two questions!
1. Ok, so I have VKB sticks and have been trying to revamp my flight style for decoupled. But when flying in atmo, my brain has such a hard time keeping my hand flexed on the rotational axis of the joystick to keep from falling out of the sky in combat. I end up kind of lazily sliding slowly lower and lower on an angle and slamming into the ground. I’ve also found it hard in atmo to keep fixed weapon pips on target with the variable flexing of up and down strafe. Any advice? Do you recouple in atmo? Turn on vtol? Thanks!
2. Would love a video about how you use missiles and countermeasures in pvp.
Came over from Mike’s channel and I have not been disappointed. Awesome videos so far!
Hey man, thanks for the question, they're both good ones.
1. You've already identified the issue, so what's the solution? If you're slowly drifiting down then that identifies to me that the spring of the twist is working against you. It might be worth looking at either adding the Z extention to the stick, to make it work more like a motorcycle, this might make it a bit more intuitive to you OR add peddles to the mix.
2. I tend not to use missiles to damage targets, instead I reserve them for when a target who is faster than me is running away. When a target trichords (thrusting on 3 axis) it reduces the max speed of the ship. When firing a missile I often find targets trichord to evade the missle, which allows me to catch up. In regards to countermeasures, flares are almost entirely broken right now, but I do see people dropping chaff/noise to lose target lock, which is smart.
Hope this helps!
