- This is a WPL C24KM I got from banggood.com. It came in great undamaged condition as you guys seen on the post on my community section. I try to do my best to explain how I put these kits together. Hope it helps some that need some setup tips.
(Also I forgot to insert a sneak peek picture of what's been keeping me busy. I will have a video on that as well.)

Hey great Video, I love the look of these kits and the fact they are built from scratch! i'm just torn between a C24-KM andconstruction like the KM's
the KM kits are all pretty good so just get what floats your boat!

Hi, great videos, glad I came across them, I'm looking at this very kit. The company couldn't answer a question I had, maybe you could. I was wondering if the ESC could power a small micro camera for a FPV setup, like if I leave the light or sound option unplugged & use that connection for the camera if there wasn't a extra connection. Thanks again for the videos, its going to make the assembly much easier.
not sure unless its a 1s system. I normally wire my fpv standalone style.

Are the axle mounts, the ones you put over the pumpkins to mount the suspension, made out of plastic (again)? They seem to be different in form than the ones used in the C34.
Would it be better, in your opinion, to buy the normal RTR and order the metal parts separately instead of investing in the KM version?
I am asking because I had a REALLY poor experience with the C34M so far - tight gears, too wide ball bearings (in the steering knuckles) and when I finally put it together, both small gear pins in the diffs broke during the second run...
They are plastic. They do have a metal upgrade one but you need to upgrade the links unless you want to get crafty. I think the KM is they way to go specially if you want the 2 speed like I do.

Which version of the Jimmy is this? Is WPL putting out this kit or was this just a custom? Beautiful work, I’m ordering a Jimmy this week for my collection.
WPL has a Jimny out now. I should be getting one soon. Looks pretty cool. It's called the WPL C74 I believe.

What’s the best ESC (other than WPL) for upgrading? Something that won’t freewheel on a steep hill. Thanks for sharing this step by step build👍👍

@@adamlukas3967 a cheap 30a will work but the 1060 is way better depending upon your budget and what you want out of it .
On most of mine I only use the 30a ESC they're okay

Iv got a C24 KM of the wife sat on the dinning room table waiting for Christmas until I'm allowed it. But I was allowed to just check it had made it from China in one piece. Thought they had sent me the wrong kit at first when I pulled out the single speed gearbox and then the plastic axles, turns out it's a full plastic kit with all the metal upgrade bit's thrown in to.
That seems to be the same as I received. I'm sure they forgot to take some of the parts out for the KM kits or maybe they are just including metal parts to make it KM.
@@RunThatRC I just assume it's logistically cheaper to have one production line and pop the upgrade in at the end. Depending on demand
What length is the original c24 front axle? On Ebay it lists 8cm, 9.6cm and 10cm lengths available
I actually didn't know they had different length axles. I wont be home for another week so I can't check and measure mine unfortunately.

Hey 👋 I watched this video a few times now. I'm a noob, but I want to say the pinion gear? Is to long? Or has to much free play and doesn't make contact with the other gear inside. I've taken these things apart 10 or so times and still the same problem, keeps binding on me. Any ideas?
hard to tell what's going on without seeing it unfortunately. I haven't ran into a issue of loose mesh with these it's usually too tight and some have to add a gasket to space out the gears. Me personally I haven't ran into those issues much so unfortunately I don't have a quick solution.
Help I overscrewed a grubscrew on my steering diff and i cant get it looser or tighter and it not fully screwed in its moving freely from the outer shafts
you have to figure out how to get it out and replace with new grub screw. You can try and extract it or drill it out with a dremel.

Is waterproof grease good for the build?
I use this stuff called green grease it is waterproof and safe on plastics.
where do u get ur mud/crawling tires
all my tires are stock tires. My blue C24 has some lugs cut.
Is the gear inside the 2speed gearbox metal?
they are plastic but very robust gears for this size Rc. I run brushless in one without issues yet.
Are your axle trusses plastic? In my KM kit they are plastic, just checking.
I purchased the metal axle truss separately. The KM still has plastic trusses and most my rigs are still running plastic trusses but the metal ones help from breaking when you roll your rig off a big climb.
what rims on are the blue one and are they beadlocks?
they aren't beadlocks. Just 3d printed wheels from a thingiverse file.

Hi I need help I’m new to these rc and everything was working fine until one day the driveshafts decided to start spooning but not the wheels I started with drivetrain and wheels nothing I could find that seem the issue I tighten all the little nuts any ideas ?

either the ring gear came lppse or stripped. what model do you have? RTR, Kit or km kit?
Pretty sure the km ? I have the c24km with all the metal upgrades
I also checked the ring gears they seemed fine but also it could be the Cause I did notice big of shaving from some where , that’s a bummer if it is cause I barely been able to use the thing since I got ot built
Hi. Mine is the other type of metal front wheel hub. When i try to turn on the wheels left and right. The wheel hub will start to get wobbly? Why is that.
you can check to make sure they aren't binding but the older dog bone style ones are known for that type of wobble when trying to have the steering throw maxed out. All my WPLs with the older style metal upgrades do that at full steer as well.
@@RunThatRC yeah. So does that mean that I am gonna change it with the universal joint? Is universal joint much better than the old style?
@@johnc3695 the newer ones are better for more steering angle but I run both and don't mind either.I don't notice the wobbles on the trails really.

So I’m getting binding in my axles and the problem was that the covers they supply have these rounded bumps where the screw holes are. Those bumps contact with the gear and cause binds. This is kinda irritating cuz now I have to grind away metal and hopefully I don’t fuck up the cover since it’s such a weird spot to grind. Idk how yours didn’t rub but mines literally lock up the gear if I try to tighten down the cover even a smidge
edit: The problem went away after making gaskets for the covers. You only need one gasket on each pumpkin. Not necessary to gasket both sides of each pumpkin. They include gaskets in a small ziploc but I didn’t see mine until after I cut my own.
its really strange how I never had this issue but several people have experienced it. Its hard to lead people in the right direction of how to solve this issue because most of the time its hard to understand whats going on unless the Rc is in front of you to diagnose. Hopefully you figured it out.
@@RunThatRC Yah it was actually my mistake for not realizing they included gaskets for the covers so it acts as a spacer to prevent the binding. They slipped under a cardboard flap in the box and i didn’t find it till after i cut out my own gaskets lol. Everything’s running smooth now👍🏽 the 2 speed is a beast it’s been crawling nice! the added weight from the metal axles helps a lot too

Yes these are WPL stock size just metal.

Mine binds like crazy on the rear axles that it destroys the bearings in the pinion.
wow that's major binding if you ruined bearings. spacing may be needed in your axle for sure.
@@RunThatRC I hope the future versions of wpl have better quality control, I spent more time tinkering than using it lol.

does the C24km comes with two motors?
No, with 2 speed
Its supposed to be just the speed but some have received these from banggood with both motors and even the plastic axle internals with silver gears. Maybe just a regular kit with metal parts added to make it a KM?
