- One of the things that I did not like on my 2020 Chevrolet 2500 HD Duramax was the amount of chrome. I decided to take matters into my own hands and start deleting it. I jumped on Amazon and bought a $25 chrome delete kit and went to work wrapping the window trim. The transformation was beyond impressive. Follow along as I take steps to make my truck my own.
Thanks for watching!
I like it black..the least expensive and the least work. And it looks great. I was searching for a video like this to do mine. Great job. 👍
The first window was daunting but it was quick and easy after that! Has held up well too!
That ended up looking really good. I have the luster black on my GMC AT4 from the factory. I think I like yours better because GMC/Chevy's factory is installed over the chrome, but is very thin. Therefore any stone or even road sand, etc, chip the coating and you see the shiny chrome through the matted out black. It drives me absolutely insane. Mine is a 2022 and I've already replaced the grill and light shrouds around the fog lights. I was looking at it the other day and I can see chips in the new ones already. It basically de-laminates from the chrome below.
If you are having issues with stone chips I would recommend that you look into Paint Protection Film(PPF). Basically clear vinyl that adds a protective layer to part or all of your vehicle!
Awesome vid
Thank you so much for watching!
I am not really into the Vinyl but can I borrow your Costco Card ?
Why don't just put you on my plan?
I tried doing it once. I fk it up. I like it black. I have more vinyl I’m
Gonna try it again got new blades.
Do you have a part number for the other gloss black trim peice
Which piece are you referring to? The factory gloss black piece?
@@cityboydiesel5586 yes
Completely ridiculous that Chevy made that molding chrome, instead of black, like the rest of the f@cking window!!!
You needed a matte vinyl for this, not glossy.
Do the mirror caps next.
I am thinking of taking them off and painting them body color. Maybe rattle can DIY style!
@@cityboydiesel5586 I thought about that too but the amount of stuff you have to take off to get to them sucks. Worried about breaking the glass.
😅😊
So I have to get a $65 Costco membership to do this?
Any card will work. Didn't want to get judged for using my Adam and Eve preferred shopper card
