@carcleaningguru I used the same Towels as yourself and found they linted all over the glass even after thoroughly washing them. Have you come across this problem. The glass was clayed and was spotlessly clean. Thanks.
I had a bad experience with these products. The felt pads are just about useless. The compound left spots that weren't polished, had to go over those spots a few times. Then when I used the glass sealant, the same thing happened, it left spots that weren't sealed. Even going over the areas two -three times. Finally I ripped off the felt applicators and used a little cloth that comes with ceramic coatings and that worked perfectly. With that said, we had heavy rain yesterday and when I came out to my car the windshield was totally dry as if it hadn't rained at all. So I'm very happy with the products just not the felt applicators. ty
Based on this, I forked out for the SOFT99 Glaco DX and couldn't be happier. It might be a bit pricey but the results speak for themselves. Works great on bathroom mirrors too!
I've found Glaco set few weeks ago and applied it on my car 2 weeks ago. The hydrophobic effect is awesome and over certain speed you don't need to use windshield wipers! Definitely recommend this!
@@davidsmith2650 Rain-X, however, is only good until you use your wipers for about... 20 or 30 minutes, then it's only about half as good. It needs to be re-applied regularly, especially if you have to use your wipers during low speed travel. For highway speed it's fantastic, no wipers needed no matter how bad the deluge (well, mostly).
ANY kind of coating on a window is temporary. If you use wipers at all it wears it off very quickly. I can make an application of rain-x last 6+months by never using my wipers. If there is morning frost, pour warm water on your window to melt it. Never scrape, never wipe, don't touch them.

I finally got around to buying the glass cleaner and using it - amazing product that I wish I’d discovered for my cars 10 years ago. Will definitely try the repellent next once my bottle of rainx is depleted!
I'm so excited to see people start using these products, I coat every car with this and have a hard time driving without it in the rain. I personally highly recommend going with 2 coats, (or even 3 on the windscreen), makes the product last a bit longer, but it has a strong hydrophobic effect for much longer.
applied this some time ago and its amazing. the dirt just doesnt stick to the glass....1 month in of terrible weather and the glass is still spotless. interesting that you applied yours like i had, post wash...so glass was wet when doing the compound. Seems like many do this on dry windows... but ive done both, and thus far see no difference in the durability of the coating.

Hi Joe, loving the montages at the end, absolutely brilliant. I've got a GTechniq coating on my glass which works well but causes my windscreen wipers to judder. I could be wrong, but once the novelty has worn off, I think that a lot of people prefer to be windscreen wiper peasants, after all.

Just a heads up, you can purchase OPTICAL GRADE CERIUM OXIDE GLASS POLISHING POWDER on the cheap by the bag/box with no need for premixed product for a fraction of the cost and will last a very very long time. You can mix up as much as you need and for deeper windshield wiper scratches you can you a power buffer to polish those out.. It can make a mess when mechanically polishing glass and possibly scratch paint with the over-splash when polishing glass. So covering paint surfaces with a plastic sheet is recommended.
Sounds like it would be worth a go on the MX-5 and since that has so little glass I could probably do the Land Rover too, would be interesting to see how it fends of bugs and bird nuggets. The Land Rover windscreen still has a bit of Raptor overspray dust on it so the compound would be handy to clear that up.
I used turtle wax clearvue glass coating, I put it on the night before a roadtrip and next day it was phenomenal for the whole day, then week later you can barely tell if its there or not, not great, lots of work to put on just to find it doesnt last

Some help please. DX say 3-4 months. About right. So I want to reapply but on a perfectly fresh screen. What's the most effective method to remove all the old stuff? Cheers
@@pigeonpoo1823 I would suggest to use Compound (again). It strips back the original applied DX. Afterwards, you can either put DX on or Glaco Ultra (6-9 months of protection)
Car guru - first time using dx. Love it. Got 3 months but its dying. How to i strip the remaining dx? I have surfex, fairy, AG glass polish and panel prep. What would be your strategy for re applying
I find Barkeepers Friend works exceedingly well on glass and removes the hard mineral build up (which causes auto wipers to go crazy) with ease. Keeping the mineral deposits off though... haven't found anything yet.
What's the difference between this and Aquapel? Aquapel lasts at least 6 months for me. I use Rain-X windshield wiper fluid which supports the hydrophobic properties. I do find Aquapel works better than Rain-X, but I'm not sure about the Glaco. While the Glaco stripping is interesting, is it really necessary? Have you ever used Aquapel? It's been 4 months -- good time to re-visit how well Glaco is doing and what you've done to maintain since this video!
Rain-X (the dedicated application, not the clean-and-protect combined stuff) works great for this too, and is in most stores - a $10 bottle covers like 5 cars for me. Though I can definitely believe the stripping compound helps, and it would explain some difficulty I've had in the past. As a plus on this kind of stuff in northern climates: it's *amazing* at preventing ice from sticking. Scraping windows all winter is absolutely trivial with a good application, it just cracks and falls right off. You can hardly call it "scraping", often just a whack with your fist and then brushing it off will be good enough. Personally, as a lazy person: I stick one of those furry buffing pads on a drill to work it in. Much faster and less tiring, I've had consistently good results unlike by hand, and it cleans off the pad after a couple washes and can be reused.
Nice review, thank you for this. My car is coated with Gtechniq CSL… do you think I can use any of the Glaco products over my ceramic coating as an extra protection/helper for the ceramic coating?
I was a little reticent to use Glaco as I didn’t believe the hype but, I must say it does what it says on the tin/ applicator. I’m not convinced that it’s any better than Angle-wax H2Go which I think is cheaper?
Looks like another Great product Joe and no doubt I'll be breaking the piggy bank open again, gotta say thank you for an earlier review you did on Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Graphene Acrylic Trim Restorer used it on my 9th gen civic and the front scuttle and wheel arch trims have never looked so good really appreciate it thankyou
I bought this and on both my daily and my girlfriend’s. After using the glass compound, it left the windscreen covered in thousands of hairline scratches that are extremely noticeable and distracting while driving. Especially in sunlight. Now I have to go through the process of figuring out how to get the scratches out of the windscreen…
Thank you so much for your comment! I bought the product over a year ago but i was affraid to use it just not to scratch the windshield. I know what you mean with the scratches and i'm sorry for what happened to you. I scratched the winshield to another car years ago when i watched a guy from a reputable detailing company that was using paint polish for cleaning glass... I was so upset. After that i tried cerium oxide glass polish and felth pads and after hours of polishingi managed to get it to a drivable condition at night, but all stone chips got bigger.

I find Barkeepers Friend works exceedingly well on glass and removes the hard mineral build up (which causes auto wipers to go crazy) with ease. Keeping the mineral deposits off though... haven't found anything yet.
man i need this just to pass the wiper using peasants!
I love Rain-X and don't use my wipers when applied. This seems to take more work to apply. What are the advantages over Rain-X?
Great video.
Similar performance but better durability.
How's the durability with wipers? 9x out of 10 the sealants I use are gone within a month of UK weather 😂
I would LOVE to try it. My black car will appreciate it!!
Best combo imo been using them for awhile now
Awesome little car and awesome product!!!
Will this reduce frost sticking to the car?
falls off the side windows But still needs a good scrape on the screen , Best not to use the wipers until the screen heater is up to temp .
Nice review, thank you for this. My car is coated with Gtechniq CSL… do you think I can use any of the Glaco products over my ceramic coating as an extra protection/helper for the ceramic coating?
this was a really great video, mate. thanks!
I was a little reticent to use Glaco as I didn’t believe the hype but, I must say it does what it says on the tin/ applicator. I’m not convinced that it’s any better than Angle-wax H2Go which I think is cheaper?
your videos make me want to buy every single product you feature hahaha
