In this video we examine every major case of Mario DLC getting rejected for the series' Nintendo Switch games, with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe getting the Booster Course Pass DLC who knows? Maybe one day we'll see these features added in.

The one that makes me the most mad is them stopping updates on Super Mario Maker 2 so soon. The game has so much potential for new game styles and power-ups (I’m still upset the ice 🧊 flower and double cherry were never included) so it’s just dumb that they stopped when they only scratched the surface of what they could have included.
For real man, and I remember the announcer on the last mario maker 2 update trailer said that one more major update was going to come. But it never happened, smh.
But they need to charge you for the game and then charge you monthly to use their horrid service.

Reverse mode wasn't first realized in Mario Kart Tour. Mario Kart Wii's online-distributed "mission mode" had some reverse variants of existing tracks.
Mkds has some missions of reverse courses I think

Plus, if "Extra Game Styles" was a mistake, couldn't they have corrected the text in one of the updates? I know Smash Ultimate did just that when they accidentally called the Melee Onett song "Bein' Friend" rather than the intended "Bein' Friends".

It was probably intentional as Extra Game Styles sounds better than Extra Game Style.
With Super Mario Maker 2, I literally think the Japanese devs did the UI in the way they did so they could leave the door open to add another style if they wanted to.
It's sad that Yoshi wasn't added as a new character in Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury. Maybe the reason for that is he would be too easy to play as being able to eat enemies whole, and it takes fewer hits for him to lose a life. Nintendo doesn't really listen to their fans, which they should. But I still enjoy the tons of games that they release in very little time, especially a new Disney game.
7:59 It's actually called the Spiny Shell. The Blue Shell is an item in New Super Mario Bros., and the Spiny Shell is red in the Super Mario series. It was changed in the Mario Kart series to distinguish it from the similar-looking Red Shell.

The most common name and the one consistently used in the Mario Kart series is the Spiny Shell. In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, it's listed in the items menu under that name, and the cup with the "Blue Shell" as its emblem is called the Spiny Cup. It's also listed under the name Spiny Shell in Mario Kart Tour.
8:08 This is a reference to how in Kalimari Desert, you have to wait for the train to avoid being hit by it. The MK8 hashtag was placed so the post wasn't buried in a sea of other posts, but people saw it and started theorising.
Speaking of 3D World Cut content, I've seen a DYKG video that revealed why Yoshi was excluded from 3D World, primarily because of redundancy reasons. Since Peach can float...almost like Yoshi, and Piranha Plants you can carry that can eat things... certainly like Yoshi, why include Yoshi? They must've figured that's a bit wasteful somewhat. The other characters mentioned in this video for 3D World do hold some possibilities, outside of Rosalina's inclusion. Come to think of it, Rosalina's presence might as well be the result of these requests for Daisy, Waluigi, etc...though personally, I'm not sure we need more characters than what is necessary...though that would be neat if Nintendo allows it. 🤷♂
I think Daisy and Wario would be really neat, and Yoshi despite some redundancies. It's not like Yoshi's flutter jump is the same as Peach's float.

Mario Maker 2 died too early
I'm gonna say that DLC _was_ planned for SMM2, but COVID forced Nintendo to can it, but given what's happening with Mario Kart 8, I'd say that out of every game covered, it's the most likely to be back on the table.
I'm totally fine with MK8 getting more DLC this far into its life, id rather have that than have to buy a new game for the same console, BUT it feels kinda weird that Nintendo supported MK8 for this long but kinda ditched Mario Maker 2 after less than a year. Like.. C'mon man, there was so much more that they could've added to that game, it would've been so cool

@@Molten2004 I mean, Tour is canon in the main games since the Booster Course Pass will port some over. It would make sense for it to be MK9. Wouldn't be surprised if the next MK will be numbered 10.
@@Cyrzai although it's 100% true what you say, i have a feeling that the next installment will be a reboot of the series. i mean tour has the most impressive roster in the whole series and 8 deluxe with the DLC will be the game with the biggest amount of tracks that a single game will have in its entire series, i highly doubt that "MK10" will surpass what both installments do: in being the pinnacle of the series. (even without the 8 deluxe DLC, tour was already doing its best to be a "mario kart ultimate" anyway).

The hypothesis of getting the DS version of Super Mario 64 along other 3D Mario outings in a separate 3D All-Stars game compilation is not something I have thought of. It would make up for the glaring mistakes made in the original, especially if they upscale and remaster them to the HD era. But that would still leave Sunshine and Galaxy without a proper remaster to HD. And it didn't help that 64 was of the "inferior" version, with no reverse long jump to build speed (and go to parallel universes) and no "gay Bowsers". People did whine over that.
I do hope that the tracks for the MK8D DLC are not just Tour track copy paste, but properly styled tracks upgraded to the MK8D aesthetic, live music soundtrack and all.
Also, great to know about cut content that would have made the games greater than they are.
Only good thing about New Super Mario Bros Deluxe was the Super Crown, because it took one artist to draw Bowsette, and the Internet went crazy. Best one is the Wii U version.
What's really funny about "Bowsette" to me is that she shouldn't even be called that. It should be Peachowser or something like that, because the crown Peach-ifies people, not Toadette-ifies people.
@@k-leb4671, interestingly enough, concept art for Super Mario Odyssey showed a Bowser/Peach fusion. Only difference is that it's more Bowser than Peach rather than the other way.
The artist that made the comic that featured Bowsette didn't expect that his "OC" would explode in popularity, much less be fuel for R34 art. And we have seen the Super Crown used to transform so many characters transformed into waifus. Even males couldn't escape its power.

People who want Mario 64 maker, or a 3d Mario maker, have no idea how difficult it is to create your own levels in 3d and how much more space that would have to take up on Nintendo's servers. I messed around with Toad's Tool when I was younger, which is a Mario 64 level editor, and its fucking hard. Surely there's a better way to do it, but at the same time you would have to be extremely limited in what you could make in a game like that in order for it not to completely drain the fun out of the experience. Its genuinely a bit of a chore making a level in 3d and there's so much to account for, not to mention the actual UI required to move around and place things exactly where you would want in 3d space would be a bit too confusing for children. 3d games are not grid based so they would have to be pretty creative with how they would implement it. Also the sheer amount of objects and terrains required to make it feel even relatively fleshed out would make it unbelievably bloated in the UI.
I doubt Nintendo ever puts out a Mario 3d Maker, and if they do it would only be hardcores that would enjoy it, and they don't cater to that audience.
Isle Delfino not being in Odyssey, Super Mario Bros 2 theme not being in MM2, Super Mario Party DLC boards, and Daisy not being in Bowser's Fury are the saddest for me

Here is the thing with daisy not being in the game, each character has a special ability mario is normal, luigi can jump high, peach can float, toad is very fast, and rosalina can double jump. So what could daisy do aside from, well, floating?

@@jafarsadagghe5059 not really, Rosalina uses it as an attack and loses it when she uses a power-up. Daisy cannot attack but can still uses her jump with a power-up. I wanted to tell you that Daisy has an ability other than floting since you asked it in the first reply.

I have a theory as to why they didn't put smg2 in sm3das (aside from laziness ) : maybe it was because it's mario 35th anniversary and the games in it are 3d and there are 3 games so that the numbers match but it created more problems than it solved so idk

SM64 DS is great except for in terms of controls, a d-pad, run button, and poor camera control requiring you to take one hand off and tap the touchscreen do not belong in a 3D Mario game
