- Hey guys welcome to a very special and huge video and the best and worst enemies across the entirety of the Super Mario Bros franchise. This is one of the biggest videos ive ever made to date and think I covered each games baddies properly in finding the ones I need to showcase. In the first game the Hammer Bros even start moving towards you when you wait too long

I never even thought of the whales in SMB 2 as an enemy. Maybe an environmental hazard.
Note: Bullies also appear in Bowser in The Fire Sea and Snowman's Land, not just Lethal Lava Land

King Bills are some of my favorite enemies in the whole Mario franchise, and I hope they get more representation in the future.
They're genuinely scary with the red glow sometimes lmao
How can you not pick the shy guys as the iconic baddies of Mario 2? They are probably the most enduring legacy behind the doki doki trivia
My favorite enemies in Super Mario World were the Rex and the Dino-Rhino/Dino-Torch. Mostly because how their form permanently changes the first time you stomp on them - the Rex scrunches up, while the fat Dino-Rhino turns into a smaller but fire-breathing Dino-Torch. I like how a number of enemies in Super Mario World change up their attack pattern in reaction to your attacks.
if you hate the goombrats you must’ve been pissed when they appeared in smm2 along with goombuds
Some personal favorite enemies of mine are the Electro-Koopa from Sunshine, the Brooser from NSMB, the LakitUFO from Partners in Time, the Snifits from several games, the Green Gloves and Sluggers from Yoshi’s Island, the Laser Mechakoopas in Mario Maker 2, and the Kaboombas also from Yoshi’s Island. There’s a lot more but those are just the favorites that come to mind.

The piledriver bricks in smb3 are easy because they don't shine like the real blocks
39 years old and I still have the placement of each one memorized.
Well and like, they are pretty predictable imo, if memory serves they don't jump too differently

My favorite enemies are probably the boos, bob ombs, and koopas
I remember the eel from Super Mario 64 being quite offputting as a kid. Neat to see it in other games.

I will give super Mario bros 2 to credit even though it makes the enemies a lot easier when they become gold I like the remixes of a music in each stage when you hit the gold rings that's awesome
Now that Super Mario Bros Wonder is out, I can safely say that my favorite enemies are Baboom (for its mechanics) & Kerpop (for its concept). But I hate the Maw-Maws.
It’s funny, in the credits of Mario 2 “Birdo” is referred to as “Ostro” and the “Ostro” enemies are called “Birdos”
I love the Rexes in SMW
in super mario 64 if you fall in lava by a bully you can exploit mario’s panic state to bounce the bullies back without being touched
That hat stealing enemy in Sunshine looks like the prototype for Odyssey
The idea actually started in Mario 64, where hats gave you different power ups, and the Klepto vulture that stole your hat made its first appearance
I like goombas
They are the classics
some of these bad enemies show gameplay where the player is also just horribly bad admittedly lol

the enemies in odyssey are all super memorable due to the capture mechanic. i really like the pokyo and the wriggler
Disagree on the mini goomba hiding in bricks; they can be found out, seemingly pretty easily as the blocks don’t shimmer like the real ones. Saying this, however, they’re alternate form in NSMBDs is far superior

What I consider the worst enemy: “Goombas” from Super Mario World. Those are NOT Goombas. Glad Nintendo renamed them in Super Mario 3D World.
Ummm. The bully enemy is actually in more levels than the lava land stage he is also in the second Bowser stage.

Is it just me or does nobody realize that Mario Odyssey having kingdoms is probably a reference to Mario Land.
Seems like the only reason you don’t like enemies is because they’re hard. I wish this were more about design and impact, instead of just what’s hard for you to beat.
I think he picks something unnecessarily hard or annoying to him, not just regular hard.
I have bad memories of clone Mario from when I played 3D land
3:39 I’m pretty sure Link’s Awakening took inspiration from those enemies and decided to add them in. It was a mistake.

I think one of the best enemies in 3D land are those blue robot things with yellow spikes that kan only be hit from the bottom when it slam into you. I always found these fun to fight and I wish they returned in 3D world

My fav enemy in is in Super Mario 3d world is the coin coffers they give out coins and first a appear in pipeline lagoon and is invisible
