Great recipe. I added a ripe banana for sweetness, chocolate whey protein + vanilla extract. It would really be great with some walnuts/pecan nuts or maybe cacao nibs.
Awesome recipe--thanks Felu! Have made this a couple times now and have come up with my best version. It's mostly the same with some slight variation: - 1 mashed up ripe banana - 150g oats - 30g cocoa powder - 60g vanilla protein powder (I use Orgain vegan pea-protein blend powder, so it's not casein) - 50g peanut butter - 200g milk (I use whole or 2%) - 15g zero-calorie sweetener of choice, if desired, or to taste - pinch of salt Bake at 400F for 20 minutes. Comes out moist and delicious, not dry at all. Adding the banana adds a touch of sweetness, and additional sweetener really makes it taste like a treat. The macros per serving (6 servings) comes out to be: 207cal, 10g protein, 29g carbs, 8g fat
These literally came out like fudge brownies for me. Absolute game changer. I didn't have casein so I subbed with 15 grams whey/ 15gram Skyr and that worked well. They only thing I'd say is they come out pretty bitter so it's worth putting in a vanilla sweetener to cut through the chocolate.
The putting of the whole jar on the scale and zeroing the scale is actually a gamechanger when it comes to weighing things out. How have I never thought to do that
i’ve never thought of that before either! however, i found that my scale tends to be less accurate when i do it like that for some reason. maybe it’s just my scale being weird, but you might want to double check :)
Great recipe. I’ve tweaked it now to where I take my oats and grind them into a fresh flour. This makes it more like a traditional brownie. Also added some chopped pecans and almonds.
beware, when you grind the oats to a powder or flour, it dramatically increases their glycemic index, ie will up your blood sugar greatly, which increased your glycemic load, which is the path to diabetes, so eat your oats in their whole natural form to keep your blood sugar low and even.
@@Gateseleven it will definitely spike blood sugar when oats are ground into a flour, I eat them raw, mixed with applesauce, cocoa, vanilla and stevia, i dont cook it! just mix it well, then eat. its great! and NO blood sugar spike, ever.
Just wanted to come back to say these are AMAZING. They're definitely filling 👌 I add powdered sweetener to mine, because it wasn't sweet enough for me. Also I've made about 3 batches now 😁
I tried both the og recipe (delicious) and then tried an alternative; replaced the cocoa powder with coconut flour, used some vanilla flavored plant milk sub, vanilla casein whey, and cashew butter. So good! Drench it in some dark chocolate and it's a luxury bounty bar. This is gonna be a staple for me I think. Could name them Co'Coats. I'm bad at naming things.
I already made it. Used some flavdrops for extra sweetening. Still came out with a nice dark chocolate taste. Will make this in the future, probably for my mom too. Thx for the recipe

Danke !
I am making these right now!! I tasted a little bit of the mix before putting it into the oven and it’s so good. I only had chocolate flavoured casein powder, so these bars are going to be double chocolate.
You can also grind the oats, add smooth peanut butter, a few seconds in the microwave, and some honey, you can add protein powder as well. Mix them and it will result in some edible dough, really helped me in my college days, horrible days it was.
@@xnoname223 sadly my microwave doesn't show the temperature. Just a few seconds, do 5 seconds then see if it is water-ish. It is just so the flavor spread in the dough.
I have made these twice and I love them. Great pre-workout fuel. The first time I made them I baked them at 200 degrees Fahrenheit as I didn’t pay full attention to the video. The second time I baked them at 400 degrees Fahrenheit as per instructions but I think they came out way too dry. The first time they were not as dry. I will try a third time going back to 200. Great recipe.
Try this (I’ve been doing it for years, made it up myself): fill sauce pan of water turn burner on high, place a metal mixing bowl over the top (so the steam heats the bowl). Add 2 cup peanut butter, 1/4 natural honey, 1/4 natural organic maple syrup and 1/4 cup chocolate chips (chocolate chips are important for the binding and texture, not necessarily a taste thing). Mix that all together until blended then add 1 and 1/2 cups oats, mix until blended and press out in a 9”x9” pan with parchment paper. The recipe will yield a total of 4230 calories, 281 grams of fat, 147g of protein, 351g of carbs, and 64g of fiber. I split mine into 8 bars but you can use the total nutritional facts to figure out how many you want to divide it into. I purposely made these because I struggle to eat enough calories and put on weight. My recipe is gluten free, zero processed sugar (only “sugar” from natural honey and maple.) and there is no baking. Super easy super tasty, I store in fridge.
Insane amount of calories. Also, why did you not just say double boiler for the chocolate? Instead you had to be patronizing about such a simple thing...
@@AdaephonableIt’s literally not patronizing, weirdo. Not everyone has or even knows what a double boiler is, and the bowl method is easily accessible to most.
I tried this a few weeks ago, but it was pretty bland. However, I dipped it in a zero sugar sweetened yogurt, and it was delicious. Alternatively, you could dip it in honey or maple syrup if you need more carbs. I made it again today and added 15 grams of raw sugar to the recipe, and it was the perfect amount of sweetness. Eating this with a side of Greek yogurt is a great high protein snack.
Note to myself: 200 degrees C Just made these with a bit extra added sugar, a pinch of instant coffee and oat pulp from leftover oat milk making. Just leave out the extra milk and it works, too! 😁 EDIT: Made these with small oats and my family says its awesome. So I made chocolate oat balls based off this recipe, the only difference being that I used quick cooking oats and added less liquid, + 1 shot of espresso. Mixed until it ressembled a thick cookie dough, rolled them into balls then covered them with coconut shavings. Now that does add some calories but boy is it delicious
This is one of my favorite recipes ever, it's so easy to make, yet it tastes so wonderfully! Thanks so much for sharing it, man! Every time I try putting something extra to test new flavors, now I made it with a little cinnamon and it fits the oatbar very well too. Also used soy milk and a different protein powder because I'm vegan, it works great!
First of all I want to thank you for this amazing recipe. Then I want to thank you for telling the measurements in metric system which is convenient and easy and not like American TH-camrs who tell the units in ounces, pounds/ lbs, gallons and Fahrenheit. Will try your recipe and will give you an update about the same.
American measuring spoons, cups etc are done with our system. The clear liquid measuring cups have both metric and our version, but the grams, that's by weight, right? So you need a kitchen scale to measure everything? A scale that measures by metric?
@@recoveringsoul755 it might be convenient for you, but one pound is 453.592 grams, tell me sir, don't you need scale for measuring exact quantity if you live outside US and following American recipe? We in India have weight in ½ kg which 500 grams, 1 kg is 1000 grams. Everytime I have to google whenever I am following American recipe for the exact measurements.
@@RajGoyal108 American stores sell kitchen tools with American measurements on them, we don't have what you use. There is one type of cup to measure dry ingredients, not by weight but by how much space they take up. Wet ingredients are measured with different measuring cups. Even here, some people don't know that and use same cup for both wet and dry ingredients . Some ingredients are heavier than others so it seems easier to us to measure this way. Like a golf ball is dense and heavy, and a ping pong ball is hollow and light. Even if they are the same size, they would have different weight. I do have a kitchen scale, but only because I needed it for cake decorating. Most people don't have one, and i dont know if it does metric or not. Why don't your stores sell measuring tools to follow American recipes? Same problem.
For the baking part, you can also butter and flour your baking tin if you don't have any parchment paper and definitively adjust your baking time if your using like me a larger but shallower tin. 12 to 15 minutes will be enough.

Super yummy! I've been trying to make changes to this over the weekend to get them just how I want them, since mine came out a bit more dry than I like. Same basic recipe as in the video, using PB2 instead of peanut butter. (+ I soak the oats in 100g milk + 150g water in the fridge for an hour first, then add the remaining milk and the rest of ingredients (+ some sweetener). I then add a bunch of more water, until the consistency is a bit more runny than in the video - and I bake for only 20 minutes, instead of 25. The result (at least for me) is better, since it reminds me more of gooey brownies, while still being baked all the way through. Thank you for the recipe - this will become my new afternoon snack at work for sure!

I always add at least a tablespoon of cinnamon to baked goods like this, it enhances the sweetness without added sugar. Make sure you don't consume over a teaspoon of cinnamon per day tho.
Lowkey tastes even better unbaked, or at least I would have undercooked it a little so it was more soft and goey. It’s kinda like the difference between brownies and batter

I have to correct u. Baking cocoa doesn't remove the ability of leavening since it's specifically used in cakes that often needs a leavening agent and it is not sweeter or less bitter. No types of cocoa powder would automatically help on leavening.

FELU YOU are doing such important work. To help us change the relationship with food. I am trying to live healthier and be happy. Bland chicken and veges are not the only way to get there and your channel has shown that. I am too keen to make this!
Eating chocolate and peanut butter will not help you if you want to be healthier. I am amazed that people won't eat fruit because they claim it has too much sugar, but the same people will eat this. Nobody told you to eat bland chicken and veggies. You may cook chicken and vegetables in a variety of ways. If you choose not to do that, well.....
Most people who actually have fitness and nutrition knowledge are not preaching ‘bland chicken!’ Food does not have to be tasteless to be healthy. Spices are your friend!
@@Michelle-pn9xt - 2 tablespoons of peanut butter in a recipe that makes 6 servings is perfectly fine. Remember that nuts are healthy fats…AND he gave you the option of PB2 instead of peanut butter. I look forward to trying this recipe anyway, I don't mind the converting really but I can see people bypassing this recipe because of the need to convert.
Weighing food in grams provides the most accuracy if your goal is counting macros/calories, which is what this guy's doing. I definitely recommend grabbing a kitchen scale for $10 instead of relying on volumetric measurements as there can be a lot of varying from one "cup" or "tablespoon" to another :-)
@@barbaramartins5371 my point was most American TH-camrs include both so anyone can use the recipe easily but this guy didn’t and it would be nice if he did
Looks good, but with no eggs to bind the ingredients together, they were very fragile. I'd add a 1/4 cup of brown sugar to add a touch of sweetness and moisture to the bars. Without a sweetener of some kind ( date, coconut sugar are both delicious and not overly sweet), these bars aren't balanced tasting.
@@yolernlimn3574 Baking longer only dried it out. It needed a touch of sugar (sugar added much needed balance and moisture) and eggs (binding and moisture). I've been baking goodies for about 45 years, at this point, I rarely measure ingredients.

Think I'm gonna start preparing these every Sunday because I never seem to have the time to make breakfast in the mornings. An oat bar plus a piece of fruit and walnuts sounds like a great breakfast to me!
I make overnight oats with yogurt, oats, wheat germ, homemade jam, and walnuts. Way better macros, easier to swallow, and far less hassle to make since it's literally just combining everything and into the fridge.
Made this today, was delicious! Do you have any savory oatmeal / oatmeal bar recipes? Would love to see one with miso or something along that line of flavor profile!
always get peanutbutter that has no palm oil in it, there will be a layer of oil on top of it inside the jar. That and you should get organically grown to avoid pesticide arsenic content. Most peanutbutter also has sugars added into it which is a big no no
I used organic quick oats, oat milk and vanilla flavored rice protein, and the result was somewhat different but still quite good as a snack. The result was quite dry, it would have required around 3dl of water to result in the same consistency, I used about 2dl. Already ordered some casein vanilla powder and I'm going to get steel cut oats so I'm going to give these another try with the same ingredients, not going to use cow milk though. I love the channel, these are great recipes!
Shouldn’t be any problem using any good vegan protein powder along with a non-dairy milk from any source. You might need to experiment with the sweetness level, but you can always add icing.... 😸. The protein powder might be sweetened or have sweet ingredients like chia seed. Also other nut or seed butters should work, such as almond butter. It’s basically a source of protein and fat.
A life hack for the baking paper is to just put it under running water for a moment, and then it's super easy to fit into the baking forms and doesn't jump back.
These look awesome! There's a very similar looking recipe in the Marvel Superheroes Cookbook (from the '70s) that is really delicious and I made for my best friend's birthday, so I'd really like to test these out. They'd definitely be much healthier!

Great recipe. I added a ripe banana for sweetness, chocolate whey protein + vanilla extract. It would really be great with some walnuts/pecan nuts or maybe cacao nibs.
Hi, how did it turn out with whey protein? I only have chocolate whey protein and not casein as used in this recipe.
If you substitute powdered peanut butter for peanut butter, the macros would be: 1140kcals / 24F / 118 C / 102 P
Thank you for the macros renaud!
Did you try with powdered peanut butter instead?
Pro tip: I swap oatmeal with oat bran to improve the macros for these kinds of recipes.
@@gasphynx That's a cool tip! Is there any noticeable difference in flavor? I'm not too familiar with oat bran
@@abusedpoptart7511 they taste pretty similar
Awesome recipe--thanks Felu! Have made this a couple times now and have come up with my best version. It's mostly the same with some slight variation:
- 1 mashed up ripe banana
- 150g oats
- 30g cocoa powder
- 60g vanilla protein powder (I use Orgain vegan pea-protein blend powder, so it's not casein)
- 50g peanut butter
- 200g milk (I use whole or 2%)
- 15g zero-calorie sweetener of choice, if desired, or to taste
- pinch of salt
Bake at 400F for 20 minutes. Comes out moist and delicious, not dry at all. Adding the banana adds a touch of sweetness, and additional sweetener really makes it taste like a treat.
The macros per serving (6 servings) comes out to be: 207cal, 10g protein, 29g carbs, 8g fat
How long you can store them?
@@ShadowRider126 Mine store for about a week in the fridge just fine!
@@caliberarts9513 Good to know, thanks!

Thank you for this, your version sounds great.
My mind was blown lol
Same - I thought I was stupid for not realising this is how it should be done way sooner..
It boggles my mind that you need to be told to use a basic function of a scale.
@@ant94 You were stupid.
Great recipe. I’ve tweaked it now to where I take my oats and grind them into a fresh flour. This makes it more like a traditional brownie. Also added some chopped pecans and almonds.
beware, when you grind the oats to a powder or flour, it dramatically increases their glycemic index, ie will up your blood sugar greatly, which increased your glycemic load, which is the path to diabetes, so eat your oats in their whole natural form to keep your blood sugar low and even.
this will slowdown digestion, just so you know, and spike bloodsuger faster. idk what your after, just so u know.
Also I've made about 3 batches now 😁
Thank you 😊 glad you like em
Your not sweet enough
@Unknown Doggo I will make these with an oat mix that contains raisins. Should come out the same tho.
Read it like cock oats the first time
I already made it. Used some flavdrops for extra sweetening. Still came out with a nice dark chocolate taste. Will make this in the future, probably for my mom too. Thx for the recipe
That is so nice from you, thank you :)

What temp and how long should you put it in the microwave?
@@xnoname223 sadly my microwave doesn't show the temperature. Just a few seconds, do 5 seconds then see if it is water-ish. It is just so the flavor spread in the dough.
I have made these twice and I love them. Great pre-workout fuel. The first time I made them I baked them at 200 degrees Fahrenheit as I didn’t pay full attention to the video. The second time I baked them at 400 degrees Fahrenheit as per instructions but I think they came out way too dry. The first time they were not as dry. I will try a third time going back to 200. Great recipe.
Sounds great! I think you should stick at 400 Fahrenheit but bake them for a shorter period of time.
Very few things cook well at 200 degrees it is too low, I would atleast should for 325 to 350 or shorten the time like Felu mentioned.
Quite high in sugar
Insane amount of calories.
Also, why did you not just say double boiler for the chocolate? Instead you had to be patronizing about such a simple thing...
@@Adaephonable I'm not sure what you are saying?
@@AdaephonableIt’s literally not patronizing, weirdo. Not everyone has or even knows what a double boiler is, and the bowl method is easily accessible to most.

Made these today thank you ! I used almond milk and also added an ounce of dates for a little sweetness ..
Sounds great!
Chocolate chips could help but someone mentioned bananas helped with the texture and sweetness.
Note to myself: 200 degrees C
Just made these with a bit extra added sugar, a pinch of instant coffee and oat pulp from leftover oat milk making. Just leave out the extra milk and it works, too! 😁
EDIT: Made these with small oats and my family says its awesome. I prefer the ones wih oat pulp. 😋 Plus: Replaced pb with coconut oil and its awesome. If pb causes you inflammation try this.
As someone tHta lives in America but it's from Spain their measurements made ni sense.
@@ichigohime16 lol
This is basically a non-dessert version of No-Bake cookies. I like it. :)

Super yummy! I've been trying to make changes to this over the weekend to get them just how I want them, since mine came out a bit more dry than I like.
Same basic recipe as in the video, using PB2 instead of peanut butter.
(+
I soak the oats in 100g milk + 150g water in the fridge for an hour first, then add the remaining milk and the rest of ingredients (+ some sweetener).

What kind of sweetener do you use? I added maple syrup to mine (10 grams) and it did the trick, I wish it tasted more chocolatey though.

Why? Does it become easier to digest ?
Looks and sounds really nice. Especially compared to processed protein bars in the markets.
I have to correct u. Baking cocoa doesn't remove the ability of leavening since it's specifically used in cakes that often needs a leavening agent and it is not sweeter or less bitter. No types of cocoa powder would automatically help on leavening.
amazing work but I lough hard when you said "lactose is sweat enough" while I was eating a chooclate cake and saying why this is not sweet enough lol 😂😂😂

Mate you’re supposed to remove the baking paper before eating 😂
I did this recipe but changed it up a bit because i have whey isolate so ended up using:
150g Oats
50g Dutch Processed Cocoa
50g Protein + Greek Yoghurt
100 ml milk (or till gets to Nutella consistancy)
2 Tsp of Instant coffee
1 banana mashed
50g Super Crunchy Peanut Butter
64g Whey Isolate Vanilla
1/4 Tsp of salt
Then cooked for 20 mins and turned out good, I didn't put any sweetner in because my isolate powder was already sweet, it's still nice and semi sweet but probably would add a few tbsp of Maple next time and probably add some more nuts like almonds for texture and split the bars into 10 with the same protein gains.
Thank you for sharing this recipe. I love how easy it was to make them. They are chewy and delicious. I think I'll add some hazelnuts to it next.

Any thoughts on using Orgain vegan protein powder? It definitely has more carbs than whey, but my stomach tolerates it much better.
