Do you have a recipe for a baked oatmeal bar? Horses can easily digest raw oats. Humans, not so much.

Rolled oats are a type of lightly processed whole-grain food. Traditionally, they are made from oat groats that have been dehusked and steamed, before being rolled into flat flakes under heavy rollers and then stabilized by being lightly toasted. Rolled oats can be eaten without further heating or cooking.

    For information, I have provided this: 1 cup (240 g) peanut butter 100% natural = 1,416 calories. 3/4 cup (255 g) honey = 768 calories. 3 cups (270 g) old fashioned oats = 930 calories. Total Calories: 3,114. 16 servings = 194 calories per serving.

I make something like this all the time, have since around 1984. I also add some finely chopped nuts of any sort, pecans are my favorite - a capful of vanilla. Sometimes I have made some chocolate using powdered cocoa. So many variations to this, but real good all the time as a healthy snack. I don't microwave it though, that takes all the beneficial enzymes out of the honey. I place it on top of a pan with boiling water until it warms up that way. May take a bit longer, but I've spared all the good stuff in the honey that the bee put in there. I use local honey from the bee hives across town. Nothing beats real honey, ever.

For some reason, things like their mental processing speed. ability to learn, conversational skills peaked at the age of 11 and they went downhill since then.

IMPORTANT SUBSTITUTION - Use one 1/2 cup of AGAVE SYRUP instead of the Honey.
HERE’S WHY the 3/4 of a cup of Honey = 208 grams of sugar PLUS the 24 grams of sugar in the 1 cup of peanut butter = 232 Grams of sugar divided by 12 Bars = 19 Grams EACH BAR!
IF instead of Honey you SUBSTITUTE the 1/2 cup of AGAVE SYRUP = 74 Grams of sugar PLUS the 24 grams from the peanut butter = 98 Grams of Sugar DIVIDED by 12 BARS = 8 Grams EACH
That is 11 Grams lower and definitely a much better an healthier option. Plus Agave Syrup is lower on the Glycemic Index.
I mention this cause, I sometimes have a bar which is 11 grams of sugar and was looking for a lower sugar option. I did the math to make sure this option was healthier before switching over.
This recipe IS excellent but just needs the substitution to truly be a better option than many store bought bars.
