I agree but a lot of that comes from psychological issues the person has. If a person over eats as a coping mechanism they’ll probably over feed either a pet or a kid. To fix something like that you need to get them psychological care

@@hehe4070 A condition like that is EASILY reversible by keeping the dog on a calorie deficit and keeping him comfortable, regardless of whether he exercises or not. Good thing they don't have ownership of that dog anymore, bunch of retards

As someone who lost 76Ibs and is still intent on losing another 10-20, I feel a kinship with dogs who’ve gone through similar trials.

I really don't think they meant to. Dog food can cost a lot, more than likely they just didn't know what they were doing. And they went to the vet to put him down,because he was so overweight he couldn't get up, which to me sounds like a good reason. Like leaving him like that sounds awful -- you can tell they didn't want to do that they gave him to someone who can take care of him better.
Something that I admire about this dog every time I watch this video is he rarely loses a smile. As she said, “people may have given up on him, but he never gave up on himself.” I love this video and watch it all the time. She undertook a monumental task without any obligation to see it through, but she did. That’s what makes me happy. She saw his strength and he saw his will.

Food was the only thing that made him happy but maybe when he saw the damage he was doing, he had no other option but to put it down

Just imagine putting down this amazing dog for what was a year of hard work. Props to the new owner for helping save his life and not taking the easy way out. I have a golden retriever and I know just how unbelievably loving and wonderful they are.
This golden boy got so lucky when he was paired with this terrific lady with a medical background and a common sense approach in helping what would eventually become her pride and joy. :)

This video gave me the inspiration to lose 20 pounds. So far I've made it to my goal of 175!!
It doesn't sound like a whole lot, but it definitely made a huge difference in my health and overall energy, not having to heft around the extra 20 pounds
Edit: it's been a year since I started losing weight in May of 2019!! So far I'm maintaining my healthy weight according to my BMI (175 lbs at 5'10")
This dog has inspired me and I keep coming back to this video when I get down so I can come back up!!

I put enough food for 2 days and none of my 5 dogs eat enough to get fat. They just eat what they need like most animals, even if i give them human food, if they are full they are full. They Aint gold fishes. That dog had a disorder
@@Hug0Pro It's not just food. Treats and lack of exercise are also part of an overweight dog. I assume you walk your dogs, but that dog probably laid around at home all day and was fed way more treats than he should've been.
@@erin1788 believe me, exercise is not a problem. I had a enormous full os muscle boxer that I could barely walk because sunlight would hurt him really bad, he was allergic. Despite that, it's the biggest dog I have ever known or seen. He was a freaking beast.

I have had several dozen dogs and many of them were rescued, and they never get that fat unless they have a genetic problem or if they were closed in a small enclosure or a cage by some1.
Could have been a relative who passed away. As an example Grandma dies and the dog that kept her company is murdered out of inconvenience. I got an egregiously overweight wiener dog from a situation like I just mentioned. She was so overweight that her belly dragged on the floor as she walked.

I had a lab who got a bit chunky (nothing like Kai). We got him on a diet and exercise routine and he lost the extra pounds in a couple months. Even that improved his life massively. Imagine how much better Kai feels ❤

I know! Some people shouldn’t own pets. My aunts old dog was abused by her original owners, so my aunt took her in.
Sadly, a lot of irresponsible, cruel pet owners, surrender or put down their dogs in bad condition, only to go out and get another puppy or dog (to ruin or put at risk). He was probably in an apartment before. We adopted a dog that was from someone in an apartment and she was HUGELY overweight. She's lost all that weight because she can go outside and run around but jesus it was terrible.
Ray White that doesnt matter its usually the owners activity level. Ive had clients with yards 4x the size of mine and their dogs were barrels.

In all the videos I have seen concerning animals who are either mistreated, neglected, abandoned or what have you the one thing that remains consistent is when you give them love, REAL LOVE(the kind of love that doesn't run out on you and sticks with you through thick and thin and gives you what you NEED and not just what you want and knows when to say YES and NO) the outcome is the same. REAL LOVE is LIFE CHANGING! If we as human beings could do this to one another what a better world this would be.
