You know what, this dog deserves a trophy. My dog blue who passed around a year ago, weight atleast 90-100 pounds. After that point, we found out he had diabetes and could not overcome it. Because of this, he passed away, leaving me and my family heart broken. We miss you blue!

Not the same but excess weight is a problem for just about all people or animals. My personal story is off loosing only 10 kilos (so far). That alone relieved my joint issues considerably.
And no, I'm not a fan of bodyshaming, but nor am I a fan of pretending excess weight is "just be happy with the way you are".

My grandparents adopted a 180lbs black lab that belonged to their priest who passed away. Everyone would feed him treats walking into church and he got very little exercise.
The first time I saw him I thought he was a small black bear, that’s how overweight and misshapen he was.
He would always sit on his rear left leg and it hindered it’s growth. Hard time walking or running just like Kai in the video.
My grandparents got him down to around 70-80 lbs and he was able to jog around with my little beagle/cocker spaniel mix when we brought her up to visit. It was great for both of them.
He was still an absolute vacuum though, food would be empty in seconds, any branches on their old apple trees that got too low would be stripped of their fruit, and I know of at least one time where their small pond overflowed from rain and he ate a big fish that came out. He was an awesome dog.

well they just fed him as much as he wanted, which is fine if there are not a fuckton of starches, but with the starches, the insulin levels go up, so the fat gets stored rather than being burnt for energy.

Sometimes an animal is overweight for other reasons than simply overeating... my cat for example I did give him tiny scraps of table food but he injured his hip and even though it healed itself he doesn't move around as much and as easily as he used too.... and this happened when he was fairly young
DeviousKitten27 When your cat hurt his hip you should’ve given him smaller portions or food with smaller fat %. If you exercise less you don’t need as much food. Your pet doesn’t decide how much he’s going to eat, it’s your job as a pet owner. Common sense, where is it these days?
I feel like she doesn’t give herself enough credit. She is always saying it was the dog that was motivated and did all the work to lose weight but I thin KB it was the owner. She was the one who motivated him to do everything in order to lose weight. She even got him a new friend just to help him! Give yourself more credit! 👍

I'm actually trying to lose weight myself and since I have a dog it's better because both of us get our exercise. I've lost 20 pounds in 2-3 weeks by doing this

Obesity is ugly, unhealthy and a death trap.his previous owners were lazy pieces of crap and don't deserve to have the love of a dog. What they did to him was abusive. I'm so glad that woman had the motivation to give him a second chance at life.
Yess! He was a purebred Golden Retriever, surprise! Omg! Ya couldn't really tell with that additional 100 pounds. This story made me tear up a little, heartwarming and gives hope.👍I love how he enjoys being a therapy dog, God bless.😊😊

These cases are so so sad. My aunt and uncle had a dog that looked very similar to this one and was also very much overfed too. I am surprised that the dog lived as long as it did, but I know that if the dog was a healthy weight she could’ve lived a lot longer.
