I'm still trying to get used to wearing dresses and skirts. Going through school it was common to see women in a top and pants, not a dress. Now I am trying to embrace the fact that I may appear apart from the crowd in wearing something feminine and modest. It is probably not as big of a deal to others as I am making it, haha!
I find even at my age of 60 it helps a lot to feel better in a simple dress than being aware all the time my shape has changed with age. It helps me relax about dressing for the day.
I've really wanted to do this since I've heard you share on it! I love the way it feels to do housework in dresses. I Wearing tougher clothes such as jeans feels like it changes my body language drastically😅
I love that in each video where you talk about homemaking or dresses, you comment on how it doesn't belong to a certain time period nor is it old-fashioned. I always imagine you staring at those that reinforce that idea and, like the Michael Jordan meme, saying "Stop it. Get some help." LOL
I love wearing dresses and skirts and want to transition away from jeans (which is my "go to" mom/wife uniform most of the year). I adore wearing dresses in the summer, but once the weather turns, I return to my jeans and knit top mode because I feel like it's warmer to wear pants. I sew, tho not so much in the past handful of years because I homeschooled my four children. Now everyone is graduated and I can delve back into that hobby of mine (especially since the rain has returned where I live and garden cleanup is done). Thank you for making such an encourage video and helping me along in my journey.
Love this topic! I have been wearing only dresses and skirts primarily for a few years now. I finally got rid of jeans. I’m wearing mostly dresses but I recently added a couple of skirts back into my wardrobe. Let’s see how it works out. But I love the simplicity of wearing dresses. 💖
I wear dresses and skirts 75% of the time. I get most of mine second hand. It looks so much nicer that the jeans/t-shirt/leggings. I find that certain dresses work best for my lifestyle. I’m going to slowly upgrade my loungewear too.
I learned about wearing dresses only from Inspired By Nikki channel here on TH-cam. I strictly wear dresses not even skirts. The reasons you mentioned are some of mine as well. A dress is a full suit of clothing. There is a beautiful simplicity in eliminating all the excess clutter of clothing. I stood for years in the closet shouting I have nothing to wear. Dresses also suit my personality. I'm very comfortable in them. My other observation is how I'm treated in public especially by men. When I wore pants/jeans/slacks I often had men "cat calling" me and making rude comments made about my backside. I frankly was tired of this negative attention. Once I went to dresses only, men call me ma'am, the hold the door open for me, are polite and smile with dignity rather than lust. I appreciate this much more. Empire waist and wrap dresses are my favorite and they flatter my body shape the best. I enjoy solid colored dresses, a few florals and patterns. I find it easier to accessorize solid dresses with wraps/shawls/pashmina or cardigans. This summer had fun with smocked bodices and puffed sleeves on my dresses. I splurged on a few from Rachel Parcell line. The Bates Sisters Boutique have lovely dresses as well. 💕👗
It’s so true. I only wear dresses and skirts and have been for the past years but a couple of months ago I decided I wanted to lose some weight and wore some leggings and a workout jacket. Had a few men make comments about my body. I started searching and realized they have skirt athletic wear. Now I just wear those. Even though it will always be apparent you have a big butt. You can’t see the outline,cup of the bottom of your butt like you can with pangs
I do want to do this. It is almost impossible to find nice dresses around here. I do thift shop, but the dresses I find are immodest or just ridiculous. I don't know what to do, really, but I'll work on it. Congratulations!

Thank you for your supportive videos on this topic! I've been slowly transitioning to wearing mostly dresses for about 4 years now. It's hard to find dresses that fit me, as I'm 5 foot tall, so I've started to learn sewing on my own, but that's so hard 😅 I believe the quarantine back in 2020 provoked huge changes when it comes to clothes. I had two summer dresses at the time, and I wore these during all summer. Literally nothing else. I've never felt so good. I can't keep doing that with my job (you know, you can't wear only two outfits for months, plus sometimes I have to wear formal trousers), but I have the feeling that it is becoming more and more exhausting to match a top and a bottom each day. A dress is already an outfit. You take it, you wear it, you hang it (you don't even need to fold it!). I'm not really a Christian, but I have similar values and I would like to implement some christian things into my life, if it makes sense. But it seems hard in today's society.
I’m so glad this came on my feed…(my phone is secretly listening to me) but I am now transitioning to wearing for dresses and skirts… the idea of wearing jeans and pants is just becoming too stressful. I do have some elastic pants e.i. Leggings. Which I mostly wear as pj… but how do I go about staying warm in the winter months.
There’s a bunch of videos on TH-cam for wearing dresses in the winter. They’re super helpful. I’m trying to plan ahead and make sure I have different types of leggings for underneath, wool socks to wear with boots. A sweater and a coat

Dresses are harder to wear in the winter, I think because few are made in warm materials. One solution is to wear thin roll-neck jerseys and leggings underneath a dress, with a woollen over the outfit, and wool-lined boots. Super warm.

Lovely video xx I don't wear them exclusively but I'm slowly adding more of them to my wardrobe when I buy new clothes mainly for modesty reasons- so people can't see the frame of my thighs and behind.
100% agree about dresses and skirts so much simpler and feels better on the body and it flows nicer. However I always have an issue with what to wear to work out. Leggings tend to be very form-fitting and shorts tend to be almost too short but then if you work out in sweats not only are they so heavy on your body but they make you hotter. What would you suggest that would be a good alternative? And also modest because that tends to be difficult with the workout culture clothing. So if anybody has any alternatives please comment. 🙂
-Leggings with loose skirt over. -Skorts, they can be short though so if you’re trying to cover your legs this is not the best. -larger, fuller pants but ONLY wear them during workouts and in more feminine colors or patterns -for swimming you can get rash guards in different lengths. Personally this is what I’ll be doing next year primarily to save my skin from excess sun exposure.
You can also get baggier sweats - in girly colors ha - and tie a thick big hoodie around your waist - the back will cover legs / bum and the ties in the front will cover your body as well. A looser tee or loose long sleeve shirt will work too ..
Through the journey through my relationship with the Lord, I don't wear any men attire that includes pants. What I learned of being modest and feminine it's so beautiful. Its a part of being a woman as well as the bibilcal roles of a woman. It can keep you focus on what you have to do for God. I only wear skirts because of my body type unless like a "women robe" dress made robe only for the house. I have been wearing skirts for almost 6 years. Coming from a tom boy who thought I would never wear skirts or dresses. It's only been the Lord. It's beautiful. I would not look back. It's been such a blessing. I love to see inspiring woman of God encourage women to be who they are in the Lord. It's rare to see women as well as Christian women wear dresses and skirts. Thanks for the inspiration. Whomever reads this message, as a Christian, you are not alone. Their are women out there who wear only skirts, dresses or skirts and dresses. Stay blessed. 😊

I have always loved dresses! Slacks seem so masculine, I always liked jeans though. I like to wear then with a longer top, covering half my hips. My husband likes tight Jean's and clothing on me, he doesn't like the super feminine dresses🙃😕
Wear that at home for him and dresses out - I have this same issue. Even dress wise, you can wear the short/tight/sexy dresses at home to serve him dinner ❤ etc

I know some believe in only plain, handmade clothing.. and what's interesting is they do it for biblical reasons. Which is so inspiring! I have nothing against pants but all my life, I have only worn skirts, blouse and dresses. The only time I wear a pants is when I exercise...that too my T shirt must be long enough . I don't like to show bum and crotch areas. Even my swimsuit is the one with a skirt . Ladies look so much feminine with skirts and dresses . But at the end of the day, dress modestly , comfortably and dress what makes you happy, confident and dress that which makes you beautiful ❤😊
Congratulations! I’m proud of you! Just be honest. Explain you don’t feel comfortable in pants and would like to slowly transition your wardrobe to skirts and dresses. It might be financially easier to do a little at a time.
So, if I slowly make the transition, can I buy a new skirt or dress and then get rid of a pair of jeans? What about winter? How can one exercise in a dress or skirt and still be feminine? Also, can you talk about working at home as a lady and wanting to be a biblical wife but still single? I feel that since I am disabled I need to find work to do to keep busy and feel useful. Is that a feminist mindset?
I wanted to share a couple of things with you if I may. You can buy whatever your wallet allows you to do. I built up a small collection if dresses before I got rid of all my other clothing. I believe I had 12 dresses to start. I bought 1 every paycheck. As far as wearing dresses on the winter time, I opt for maxi style dresses, fleece lined tights, boots and my outwear. Your objective is to stay warm. Find a cute, feminine hat, glove and scarf set. For active wear/ workout clothing, I do work out in a dress. I have a few jersey knit dresses that I got from Old Navy. I put on leggings or capris leggings underneath and I'm ready. You may also want to check out Snoga Athletics for fitness dresses. I'm single and I work from home. I treat myself and my home the same way I would if I had a husband. I have a cleaning routine, I cook and prepare meals, I budget like I'm running a family household. If my Heavenly Father ever blesses me to become a wife, I'll already be in the habit of doing things to care for myself and family. I know that's a lot but I do hope it helps💕😊
Hello! 👋 My answers are a bit similar too! - Yes you can make a slow transition! It all depends on your budget. I already had enough dresses to stop wearing jeans, until I started buying more as normal. 👍 - For wintertime I wear sweater dresses and thick wool leggings. I layer with thermal undershirts and cardigans. Depending on how cold/wintery it gets in your state/country. If it's mildly cold, maybe layer up with thicker cardigans and leggings under your dresses! ❄ - For exercise you can look into activewear skirts or dresses. When I went to the gym in the past I'd wear activewear leggings and tunic shirt that covered my bottom. Same for when I used to dance. 😁 You can also exercise in a dress! Just make sure to wear long undershorts and that the dress is lightweight/thin for breathing. 👍 - Sure! I can include this question in a future Q&A. I can highly suggest to prepare yourself for homemaking and becoming a wife the best you can, while single! Practice homemaking elements such as recipes, cooking, baking, gardening, etc. Working while single isn't particularly feminist! 😊 Thanks for your questions! Best wishes! 😘😘
Two very important words: skirted leggings!! These are amazing, and even available on AMAZON now vs having to make them yourself ❤❤❤ they are great for exercising and being super active but hide the body more. You can also wear baggier pants + wrap a hoodie around your waist to hide it
Can you do a video on dressing more modestly. I see other videos critiquing Christian women dressing wrong but it seems confusing what is OK and what is not.

I wear my granny dresses at home, if I go out its pants and a top. I prefer my cozy, comfortable granny dresses to be honest.

Two very important words: skirted leggings!! These are amazing, and even available on AMAZON now vs having to make them yourself ❤❤❤ they are great for exercising and being super active but hide the body more. You can also wear baggier pants + wrap a hoodie around your waist to hide it
