I started wearing skirts and dresses during summer this year. I had never taken much notice of my appearance in this way before. I'm finding that I feel really pretty in them and my boyfriend likes me wearing them too. Your video was actually one of a few that encouraged me to take this step.
Although I’m new to the Catholic faith, I have been wearing skirt and dresses exclusively for six years. I totally share the experience of being a more gentle and kind person. Something about pants invokes masculine behavior
Skirts and dresses only 90% of the time! I’m not Catholic (I’m Baptist) but I have thoroughly enjoyed transitioning to wearing skirts and dresses most of the time. Now pants are SO uncomfortable I can’t wait to put back on my dress! 😂 I want to get to the point wear I’m wearing them 100% soon
I've been wearing dresses and skirts more and generally trying to dress more femininely. I definitely notice a difference in how men out and about treat me. For example, holding doors open more, and just being more courteous and attentive. So interesting!
This also happens to me, and often enough that I looked online and found many similar experiences. There's just something about skirts and dresses! Part of it may be that they're just not worn much anymore (in the U.S., anyway) outside of formal/special occasions. But that's not all; you're right about skirts and dresses bringing out a certain courtesy and helpfulness in men. They may not always realize it themselves. But clothing's effects on our own behavior, and our perception of others, is really interesting to me too.
What's upsetting is that there's so many cute clothes styles where they just ruin one thing. It's too short or it's too low or it's too tight. It's always something like the clothing designers are being controlled by satan. 🤣🤦 I laugh but it's probably true.
@Lee Ayres You’re right. Fashion designers have a lot to do with the styles that we wear and it’s difficult to find decent clothes in the stores. Perhaps we’re going to need to begin designing and sewing our own clothes. It could be a whole new market for some entrepreneurs.
Totally! Have you heard of this quote? "The Bishop of Limerick, Msgr. Hallinan writes in a letter to the press: 'I have seen it stated on what I conceive to be reliable authority that the principle designers of these modern fashions in women’s dress are men, not women; and, furthermore, that they are generally Parisian Jews or Freemasons, who are bitterly opposed to Christianity and seek, among other means, to uproot it by the introduction into Christian society of these dangerous and indecent dresses.'" It's from the Catholic newspaper “Our Young People” Volumes 29-30, Page 16, April 1919. Very eye opening!
I bought a book called Dressing with Dignity, it was such an eye opening book, I highly recommend it to everyone. I looked at my leggings and spaghetti strapped tops like something a girl/woman would wear to get attention. I had to confess that because it never crossed my mind that every single time I got dressed like that (almost daily) I committed a sin. I am not sure how our priests don't bring that up anymore, if they see girls with booty shorts receiving the holy communion they should bring it up in one of their homilies or group meetings, they don't have to be mean or rude just say something to men and women, so one doesn't take it personally. They're supposed to be our shepherds and by being ok with a sin like that means they'll have to respond to the one upstairs for a sin they never actually committed themselves but let us go on with it for so long. I feel ashamed that it took me a long time to change but I can't go back to wearing anything else but long dresses and skirts, nothing revealing up or down, no strappy tops, shorts, pants or leggings. I feel awful for having wasted a good amount of time dressing up trashy. Thank you for your honest advice and your videos!
@A You’re right about priests falling down on their job. We need to call them back to holding us all accountable. You are certainly an inspiration and a witness to the fact that we can turn our backs on any past sin and become better people. Your story helps give me hope for our future.
I stated this last year I felt out of place and bothered by what others were thinking fast forward I am starting over and not letting what others words bother me
As a born again Christian I can absolutely relate to everything you shared ! As we spend time with Jesus in personal prayer and in reading the Word and in worship the Holy Spirit will speak to us & grow us & renew us in our minds - ultimately changing us into becoming more like Him and being set apart from this world - and things we never thought we would feel or think or do or ways we would ever change DO all by the power of His grace and strength and righteousness and holiness working in us that are truly saved ! Modesty is such a journey and it is encouraging to see others embracing it from this angle of only wearing skirts and dresses. I myself am starting to fully embrace this and I love the way The LORD is growing me through it. Thank you for sharing your testimony - I pray that you and your family are well 🤍
I have been wearing only skirts and dresses for over 12 months after I realised that I really disliked all jeans, pants and shorts on me they wear uncomfortable and not feminine at all so I gave them all to charity, I have one longer loose shorts I will wear in my skirts when I am on my bicycle and I will wear fleece leggings or tights in the wintertime with boots, I don’t wear anything tight fitting or shorter than my knees, I am so much happier, I only wear yoga pants at home when I exercise with a longer top but never outside, I would like a longer skort ( skirt with leggings attached) and I love my swim dress, my husband loves me in skirts and dresses, I’ve had a few weird looks and a few negative comments but I just say I am happiest like I am and my hubby is happy too
I am Jewish and we feel the same way. Modesty is paramount for all men and women. (yes, men too). We cover to the collar, 2 inches below the knee sitting down, and past the elbow, married women must cover their hair this is the Jewish law for modesty (Tzniut) . I wasn't always modest. I gradually got rid of clothes and bought what I needed to replace it. I feel so much more feminine now and helps with behavior also. Blessings on you and so glad you have come to this point in your relationship with G-d.
I am definitely going through my wardrobe and looking through anything that's too short or revealing. I have skirts that go to the knee and maybe the thigh, but they're pretty, so I hope to sew extensions onto them. I do wear pants on a daily basis since my husband and I are homesteading, and we don't really go out. But when we go to church or if I don't have to do anything labourious, I definitely try to dress modest and feminine. I know women back then did wear long skirts and had way more labour to do, so I hope to try that. And yes, the malls these days have super immodest clothing for girls. I always felt really shy to show my body like that, and modest clothing is empowering for women. You don't have to worry about creeps. And, it's also out of charity to dress like that so as to not cause others to look at you with lust. My body is only for my husband. You have a good point about being used to immodest clothing. I only realized it a couple of years ago, and it's just so weird how yoga pants and crop tops are normalized.
As a man I recently have started wearing sport coats, dress pants and suits again, immediately I felt more masculine! It is an absolute breath of fresh air to see there's still feminine women left out there!
You are so right we can't control everything people think or even say what the way we dress does send a message I had the most beautiful day today I was wearing a spaghetti strap dress colors gray white and turquoise and it had a palm tree in the middle of the dress I wore a white shirt underneath a dress when I walked by a group of men I greeted them saying God bless you they all responded with joy one guy even said may God bless you forever and ever then another guy gave me a fist bump and even a hug I couldn't believe it I was trying to control myself and maintain composure as I was walking down the street I knew I had to make a change because I would wear those biker shorts and I had to literally fuss I couldn't even walk in peace as car every time I turn around a car would stop I will constantly get the cat calling but not anymore even when I was at the park my modest wardrobe a guy was in the car and as he stopped at the stop sign he looked at me and blew a kiss it wasn't nothing sexual it was like a kiss saying I adore you
I like skirts but I suppose many women opt for pants simply because it's much easier to find them in shops. In every clothes shop they have pants, often in many different styles, skirts not so much or they don't have a style that I like or that is suitable for the season (for summer it's easier to find them, but for cooler seasons it's often difficult to find them in shops).
Amen! The exact same thing happened with me! There's literally no one in my circle of friends and family who wear dresses 100% of the time. So as a result I wore nothing but pants 100%. Then one day God started moving on my heart telling me to wear skirts and dresses 100% of the time. I was like huh? LOL I used to think people who wore dresses and skirts exclusively were being unnecessarily extreme. Now God was telling me to wear only skirts and dresses. So I obeyed and started wearing only skirts and dresses and wow do I really feel the difference! I didn't think it would matter but it does. And actually skirts and dresses are way more comfortable too. Now I love it! I am not going back! 😀
I prefer seeing women in dresses & skirts because they accentuate their figures and make them look more feminine. I also prefer women with feminine hairstyles. You are right to say that modesty in dress is a positive thing.
I actually began wearing skirts most of the time abou a year or so ago, then stopped for awhile after feeling so different from everyone all the time. Your video has encouraged me to try again. I know sometimes the Lord calls us to hard things and I want to do whatever He would ask of me, because I love Him. He has been so good and faithful to me.
Nice to hear your perspective and thoughts... I was wearing a lot of dresses and skirts during summer, but now when it's cold I'm struggling.. But not wearing skinny jeans and leggings anymore 😊I'm thinking a lot about everything that I'm wearing and how that's affecting me and my faith
I stopped wearing leggings because I detested feel of them so I understand your problem. I live in a very cold climate and I don't wear skirts in the winter because it is too cold.
I watched your other video and after that, thanks to you I’ve started wearing skirts and dressen only! And it feels so right and it makes me feel more like a woman. Only when I’m out in the garden now at fall, I do wear some outdoor-pants that goes over my indoor clothes. But I’m looking for a long jeans skirt or something like that to have instead. It is such I blessing to listen to you talking about this!! 🙌 Music in my ears! 🙏 Thanks also for mentioning the badingsuit. I think that’s the hard part. I’ve bought a swim-dress, but I don’t feel comfortable in it! Feels like everyone are looking at me and think I’m strange and even my DH says that. He says it feels so much more natural if I wear the two-part badingsuit I used to wear before. Couldn’t you do a video on badingsuits to! I would love that! Thanks for this video! ❤️
Thanks for sharing! Thank you for sharing kindly and considerately! This testimony is an encouragement to me. Currently I have mostly bootcut jeans in my wardrobe (I work with horses a lot) but have recently felt impressed that they really aren’t glorifying God and their snug fit draws unwanted attention. This past week our family traveled somewhere where there is a mandatory dress code and while before I had some judgemental thoughts about the people enforcing, I have actually really enjoyed being in skirts all week!! I think I will take you up on the challenge to wear only skirts and dresses for a month❤️ I’ll need to go shopping haha
Thank you for talking about it. Especially about pants! Now when I see a maried couple in which the wife wears tight jeans it feels ridiculous. Like why would you want to look that way? Why would your husband want it? I also think that immodest outfits rip a woman of her individuality. Because more often than not all that people perceive, especially if they are not yet talking to her, is the open body parts. Thank you for going against the pants completely! The enemy of women pants is my friend. And I also think the way men honour women in all kinds of communication directly effects what women tend to wear, though of course fashion itself is very dominating too.
i LOVE your story, ive watched how you have a blended catholic family, LOng story short, my family (the one i am rn and cfreated) is a blended one as well , i cant say that was my wish ever..... .. but thats how it is, and ive commited to live catholic no matter what, cause the reason my situation is how it is rn is cause i was away from church and catholicism, i know im forgiven , but i dont scape the consecuenses of if, neither my kid..... it is super inspiring all your videos and your story, i had been looking so long for someone i could relate to but coming from catholicism, and i know how our stpries started are heaven and hell different, but no matter what we are in the same situation rn: a blemded catholic family, thanl you and may God bless you and ypur family !
So glad I found this video! One of my New Year’s resolutions was to wear nothing but modest dresses and skirts for a whole year. Not that I dressed immodestly before but my problem was I just didn’t get dressed period. I’m a new stay-at-home-mom as of last year and I just have no motivation whatsoever to get dressed for the day or really do anything. So short story long lol my word for this year is Action, so I’m hoping by challenging myself to dress this way it gives me the motivation to take action 😊
😊Dear Krystal, I’m a 77 yr old Christian woman (3 adult married Christian children with 12 grandchildren ages 29 yrs down to 6 yrs). I love to encourage women to look & act “lady like” & to love the LORD & His Word. All our answers for life are truly found in the Bible. May I kindly say…. I’m concerned to read that you don’t desire to get dressed at all since you became a stay at home mom. Are you feeling a bit down or lonely? Might it be a hormonal issue? Do you need some encouragement & lovingkindness? Do you have a church you attend where there’s a women’s ministry? May I encourage you to pray for the LORD to bring dear women into your life who will help you & share Scripture with you. I’m thankful that you’ve reached out here. I’m praying for the LORD to meet your every need. Blessings to you.
I loved the points you brought up! I must admit, I’m slightly confused though. It seemed as though every two points were the same, so it was hard to keep up. Wearing skirts helps you with modesty, and helps you to be modest. Helps you to have a God-focus mindset, and helps you to have a more virtuous mindset/visual witness. Etc. Other than that, you spoke very nicely and clearly and it was pleasant to listen to you speak 😊
Having been molested as a child and that I wasn’t dressed in immodest . I feel like some men can be targeting minors by being aroused by immodest women whom they don’t want to be rejected. A confident woman can look beautiful and attractive without dressing tight . I myself still wear jeans if needed but with a long vest that covers my behind . A priest once told me that the day we die we will know how many children were molested or raped because our immodesty awoke their desperation. God only knows if those men got a young girl pregnant because we decided to follow the worlds fashions . That is not an excuse but we should save our curves for only our husband.
For bathing suits, I highly recommend a burkini. I am a Christian but, I’ve got to give it to the Muslim ladies, they’ve got the modest swimming gear down packed.
You are the image of natural beauty ! Everything you are describing about feeling uncomfortable in shorts/bathing suits etc.. Happened exactly the same way ❤❤
I wear 99% dresses and feel good wearing them . It's been about 10 years. I live in a hot climate so I wear light thin fabrics to stay cool. Some styles I have are pretty modest like my maxi and long sleeve long dresses but for the most part I wear short to the knee summer styles or some a little longer. The tops are sometimes halter or thicker type straps. I've enjoyed the dresses I wear and have had alot of compliments and feel so much better than tucking in tops, zipping up tight jeans and feeling hot. I believe women should wear what is comfortable and dresses are exactly that.
Yes I left a comment on your last video about a channel I watched Senses Fidelian i’m still not fully able to do the skirt on a daily basis I’m hoping one day I can I’ve been trying to work on the wardrobe using what I have as I’m not really into shopping right now but on census for billion they gave a lot of options that would be appropriate that would not show the sheep as much both using pants and dresses skirts and so on as well as they have a book explaining how the headlines changed and what was appropriate for tops as well so I am able to modify a lot of it to make it more modest just as a person who uses it wheelchair I was thinking it would be better to have more skirt options than what I have but I also find buying the pants a couple of sizes bigger sweaters or long Shirts can’t help until somebody is able to make the transition also wearing a long jacket but yes I think the one skirts are cool it does make you think more like a lady when you dress like one
This is a good video. I have two questions. One is.... I vegetable garden every year. I keep a very large garden and have to get up and down and crawl around on my knees and I get really dirty, which is fine. So, how can I do that comfortably in a skirt? The other question is, where can I truly find nice modest dresses to wear? Our thrift stores rarely have anything and truth be told, the department store clothing has become so cheap and immodest, I'm almost in despair trying to find things!
I've found a lot of nice things online from April Cornell. The attic is what they call their clearance section. It's chock full of beautiful, well-made, modest choices.
Hi. Are you still a fulltime skirt and dress wearer? i had this conviction when i first came to Christ. and its for the exact you said it hugs too much of the butt and thighs since pants wrap around the thighs and legs where skirts dont. even a pencil skirt doesnt reveal the under folds of your butt or your thighs so i believe ill always have this conviction especially since im curvy. I wore leggings once before i found out about workout skirts and had so much men looking and making inappropriate remarks. Thats when my conviction was confirmed that pants reveals all of my.body even though im clothed
Maybe get a cute little cross over body purse to place your phone, also people don't really wear fanny packs, but they can be a really cute add on too❤
I'm a devout Catholic and I HATE dresses and skirts. Unlike pants, they are constantly caught on drawer pulls and in closing doors, they allow bees and flies to fly inside, they allow my young children to see my underwear when I step over them in crazy young mom life, they fly up revealing everything in the wind, they interfere with going up stairs.... I could go on. They are so much less practical than pants.
to me, as a man (from the formation by God in the womb) it is crazy to me on the daily, why anyone would choose any sort of pants to wear over long, loose flowy skirts. it just boggles my mind, incomprehensible according to the blessed King James Bible, righteous judgment is encouraged and even commanded (especially of those who are born again, who have the imputed righteousness of God by faith) i am a Christian MAN who wears maxi skirts, there is nothing wrong with it, change my mind
To whoever is reading this Jesus loves you and is coming soon! Jesus is the only way to heaven! Jesus is the only truth and life! All you need to do to be saved is believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins was buried and came back to life on the 3rd day confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and you’ll be saved! God bless!
If pants are immodest for women because they reveal the curvature of the rear end, does that mean they are also immodest for men? I know plenty of women who love the shape of a mans rear end, so lets not have a double standard here.
While yes it is true that God looks on the heart, our appearance as believers does matter. When this statement was made about the heart, Samuel was scouting the next candidate to be king of Israel (to replace Saul). Distinction between male and female was God given and that is supposed to be further reflected in how we dress, for obvious reasons. Men (particularly the priests) wore linen breeches underneath their outer garment. This is found in Exodus, between the ch 24-28 I believe bc God is instructing on what Aaron and his sons are to wear. Later, men were advised to “gird thy loins like a man” especially when going to battle. That would imply that they had some sort of garment that split and allowed them to move well while being properly supported as it were. Women were never told to do this. I am not trying to stir anything up so please pray about this and look up the verses. I hope this will bring a little clarity to you.

It is true😂so many dresses I see online and I think that’s perfect. Then I notice a slit to the upper thigh and the whole back is open.
This exact reason is why I’ve taken up sewing

I'm switching too. I didn't think about it, the idea just popped into my head and it just feels right. I had not worn a skirt in 30 years.
I am striving to only wear dresses or skirts or nightgowns. Thank you for sharing!🤗❤

You can wear warm leggings under the skirt/dress in the winter. I live in Sweden and it works! 😊
For extra warm leggings, look for "thermal" or "fleece" lined ones.
You can also layer a pair of tights under some fleece leggings and then add a slip under your dress for extra layers
I stopped wearing leggings because I detested feel of them so I understand your problem. I live in a very cold climate and I don't wear skirts in the winter because it is too cold.

I think I will take you up on the challenge to wear only skirts and dresses for a month❤️ I’ll need to go shopping haha
I really like your swimming costume. I have a similar, vintage one.
I always wear a rash tshirt swimming although I don't really feel cute or feminine in it.
A question: what do you wear when you work out??
Happened exactly the same way ❤❤
I have wore dresses/skirts for over 30 +years...
I read Prov. 31 and Titus 2...
And was convicted to dress feminine.
No gender confusion here.......
Awesome awesome video❤️👏🏻
I bought a knock off of the Snoga for swimming…..so freeing!!
Thank you! I will take a look.
Where do you find quality, yet affordable modest pieces? Thanks.
In second hand stores
I agree with you, however, I noticed that pants show everything in men too... So...
I like wearing dresses, but I can't seem to find anywhere I can put my phone conventialy i take pictures with my phone for our business.
Get skirts with pockets or sew them in yourself. It’s pretty easy to do and you can make big pockets.
They are so much less practical than pants.
to me, as a man (from the formation by God in the womb) it is crazy to me
on the daily, why anyone would choose any sort of pants to wear over
long, loose flowy skirts. it just boggles my mind, incomprehensible
according to the blessed King James Bible, righteous judgment is encouraged and even
commanded (especially of those who are born again, who have the imputed righteousness of God by faith)
i am a Christian MAN who wears maxi skirts, there is nothing wrong with it, change my mind
God bless!
Like!
If pants are immodest for women because they reveal the curvature of the rear end, does that mean they are also immodest for men? I know plenty of women who love the shape of a mans rear end, so lets not have a double standard here.
God looks at the heart .. even during Biblical times men didn’t even wear pants
