If anyone else was confused about attaching the hotend assembly to the extruder, the instructions failed to note that you might need to dry the grub screw outwards a bit in order to get the hotend fully inserted. There's a small inner ring on the hot end assembly that needs to get fully inserted into the extruder body. Once that's in, then you can drive your grub screw in and secure the hotend.
Dude Ive had an Ender 5 Plus for years and I never even thought to put the extruder in the front. This is going to be life changed lol
The Micro Swiss NG pretty well saved my Ender 5 to be honest. Id started having some issues with the stock setup, especially the stock extruder that was just shredding filament. I'd even tried a Creality Spider hot end hoping that would help but that turned out to be worse than the stock hot end. I was about ready to give up when I happened across a heavily reduced Ender 5 Micro Swiss NG kit from a seller who bought the wrong kit. It was still sealed, so I grabbed it and honestly, it is like having a different printer. It behaves and just works now. Of course, now it works I am going to put Klipper on it lol :) The only thing I had an issue with was the CR Touch. Because of where the connector is, the included BL Touch bracket didn;t work at all. Luckily I'd printed one thinking it wasn't included and the one I printed was a bit different and worked with the Creality CR Touch
Great setup.
Great video you just earned a subscriber!
Hi!! nice video!! any New feedback after 8 mounths?
Which filament was this that you used for the Benchy?
Is it compatible with linear rails.
Will this work with an ender 5 pro?
perfect straight forward set up video. I just ordered one. Im just wondering how it will run on the Sonic Pad as far as the esteps
This is my question too. Any luck finding an answer? Or luck figuring it out?
@@GrimCW so I’ve been running into problems. The rotation distance needs to be adjusted to roughly 8mm and retraction distance and speed should be set between .8mm - 2mm at 30-40mm. I was having massive overhang issues. Resolved it tweaking settings but the stringing was even worse. Spent 2 weeks on email support with Micro Swiss. Finally they said try out the .4mm nozzle that came with it. It works well but I much prefer .6mm. The nozzles I were using before were creality. Swapped between brass and hardened steel so it wasn’t the cheap amazon ones. Just seems like despite the amount of retraction and speed adjustments it won’t stop the stringing. Even with coasting and combing enabled. So for now I’m stuck with .4mm. If I don’t figure out soon I will just convert back and print off a direct drive mod for the stock ender 5 Bowden set up
I agree that this may be the best drop in replacement option, but there are better direct drive options out there if you are willing to print mounts.
like what?
@@d6m6nk6ng6 popular option is orbiter/Sherpa paired with hotends like phateus rapido/dragon comes in at about same price or slightly higher but does beat this in terms of weight (usually around 100g weight saving, YMMV depends on hotend, gantry options), higher volumetric flow allowing for faster prints, and more flexibility (more cooling options, or use of other hotends that have perks like the e3d revo). For all in one extruder/hotend, biqu H2 v2s or lite have shorter filament path and lighter by more again around 90-120g, and is overall cheaper. I actually forgot about the NF-sunrise which is around 70g lighter than this microswiss and is a drop in replacement for printers with the creality printer mounts. I don't have previous experience with NF-sunrise or microswiss NG but atleast on paper, NF-sunrise sounds like better option
This one is very unique though in that it has an exceptionally short filament path
i could not insert the filament at all what am i doing wrong????
do you have to change esteps for the 5 plus? and how do you do that?

Here you go
Im on the Tarantula Pro the touch sensor over hangs the bed when meah leveling is there a way to adjust where it probes ?
I'm also looking to figure this out. Please share if you find a solution. Currently I just moved the magnetic bed a little further forward but I'm sure there has to be a way to update this
Hmm, mine just came in and i didnt get new wheels
I own replacement parts and used new wheels I had. You can use your preexisting wheels
