There is a difference between "expiration" dates and "best by" dates, you can play fast and loose with best by dates but not expiration dates
Dollar tree and family dollar items are considered expired even if it is a beat by date. And they're supposed to be marked down to 25¢.
For my want-to-savers
I feel like people should find out what are their signs of mild food poisoning. For me it's a headache, similar to a mild hangover. I'm quite careful with all the dates because i've gotten a mild food poisoning often enough and it's definitely not worth the risk for me. But if it's something that takes years to reach its expiration date, and it's expired only a couple of months, then there's usually no danger, just a reduced quality in taste, like teas for example. But what can give people food poisoning might be individual, so it's best to find out.
It's quite simple if it tastes funky, smells funky or looks funky dont eat it 😂
Story 1: omg as a south Asian person, I clocked that family as south Asian immediately 😂 it was the “we’re your parents and we know best” for me. It’s def hard in our culture to set boundaries so kudos to OP for being firm with his.
1. Love your name 2. I know right? The minute they mentioned the parents, I knew.
SJ’s side eye at 30:42 over homeboy not knowing how to whip up an egg 😭😭 i’m siiick
42:04
check this out
I was a SAHM, part of my job was to prepare my sons to be self sufficient human beings. Anytime they would complain about learning how to do their own laundry, learning to cook, or doing any chores, I would tell them I didn't want them to have to get married to survive in the world.
Would totally watch a police show with Madi and SJ as crooked disgruntled cops, with Brandon and Sam as various perpetrators and victims
They should do skits honestly 😭
Doctors are not always right, I was told certainly at 13 I would never be able to have children.. they got me good with that one 😭🤣
lol he said “I’ll pay more rent” and not ALL rent. He wants what his dad did but his dad payed for EVERYTHING not a little bit more.
Yeah it’s not a equitable split 😅 -also I don’t think you should be able to buy your way out of being a functioning adult
I can't help but feel like the friends of his that are on his side aren't getting the whole story. He's probably just whining about how his girlfriend doesn't love him enough to let him move in and conveniently leaving out that he's a manchild. That, or his friends are all manchildren, too. Honestly, I'm surprised it took until now for her to decide to dump this guy. I would be turned off the moment I found out his mommy does EVERYTHING for him, long before he made the suggestion of moving in and making ME his mommy. I mean, sheesh, my teenage nephews help their mom with the laundry, cooking, and cleaning. This guy is in his mid-twenties and can't do any of it? What a useless human.
If that guy wants a woman who will do everything for him, he better be prepared to *pay* for everything. Because that’s how that works.
I usually am a silent listener, but today I just want to let you guys know how awesome you are. The RE- ENACTMENT had me on the floor laughing 😂😂 Madi throwing in the story with Pumpkin pie guy from a while ago was priceless. You all are doing such a great job with this podcast, and I just want to let you know how much I love listening. Keep it up! ❤❤❤
On the last story, I don't really buy the whole "I would never do anything with the ex. I love my wife." He may think that, but he even said in his update that positive feelings from the past came rushing back when he saw her. You really don't know what you'll do in a situation like that until you are actually in it. I'm sure many cheaters thought they would never cheat until suddenly they had the opportunity, and the feelings were too much to resist. And the ex was manipulative enough to use her "I'm dying" card to get him back into her life, so I still say he needs to keep up boundaries. Never be alone with her. Don't let her guilt him into acting more husband-like. Keep his wife updated on everything that's happening and put a stop to it if anything makes her uncomfortable. Even this request of bringing the kids around feels like she wants to pretend they're HER kids. I do have compassion for the fact that she's dying and she made a mistake in her youth that caused her to lose the love of her life, but this guy has to keep living his life AFTER the ex is dead, and I would hate for her to destroy his life on her way out. So, by all means, bury the hatchet for a dying woman, talk to her, and comfort her in her last days, but not at the expense of his marriage.
Thank you Sam for getting the Frosted Flakes song stuck in my head for the next 24-48 hours.
18:12 I don't normally endorse this type of stuff, but this might just possibly be the best form of blackmail/extortion / whatever you want to call it, that I've ever heard of! He definitely picked the wrong person to steal from! ROTFLMAO
No frfr genius 🎉
I know this manchild whose mom would go over to his apartment in college to do his laundry and clean for him.
That's such a turnoff. It's like what's the point of moving out?
That Story 3 mom and dad are really creating walkong weaponized incompetencies in their kids.
Lmaaaoooo I laughed when he said “ cause you you want to give your best friend some of your lottery winnings “ 😂😂 noooo iykyk
He stole my BREATH MINTS?!?!
The act out skills have grown and grown!!! I love to see it!
0:59 Here’s a tip for how you can use your expired/chunky milk.
When your milk is expired you can use it to make bread and other baked goods such as biscuits, it helps with the texture and adds flavor, some chefs actually leave milk to spoil intentionally to use for this purpose.
Ooo that makes sense. I work in the kitchen at our hospital and we make baked goods for the patients and residents (we serve the residents in the community because the buildings are connected) and one time I open a recipe book (older book) and it recommended spoiled milk for one of the recipes. I was soooooo confused.
@@TabbyWithMittens I went to a culinarily program a few years ago and it surprised me too.
Expired milk can and also be used as a substitute for buttermilk and sour cream and yogurt in some dishes, and it can be used as a thickener for soups and stews.
However you should always be mindful of the kind of milk that your using, pasteurized milk is heat treated to kill off any pathogens in the milk before it reaches the consumer, so even when it’s expired pasteurized milk isn’t all that bad for you, however organic/unpasteurized milk doesn’t go through that process and could contain more harmful germs that could make you sick.
@@HardcoreLevelingBaka Oh yeah that make sense with pasteurized milk. Another thing that surprised me when I started working there (keep in mind it's my second job, so I haven't experience a lot of things yet) is we use liquid eggs. I actually don't know why use it, but it does make measuring easier and I think it's safer? Not too sure, but yeah never seen it like that before!
@@TabbyWithMittens Since you work in a hospital, the reason that you use liquid eggs is probably because those products are required to be pasteurized, and will be easier and less risky to consume by patients who are immunocompromised, while shell eggs aren’t required to be pasteurized, which increases the risk of salmonella and other bacterial growth.
Story 3 :
They have fundamental differences and it’s embarrassing to try buy her out. 75/25% rent is not equitable if she’s doing 100% of chores.
I hate it when people say they don’t know how to be a functioning adult - like learn? How do people think others learn -we have free resources, books, THE INTERNET? I didn’t know how to cook certain things or do other tasks and I didn’t just go: “oh well, guess I’ll never do that” I just learnt? Such weaponised incompetence.
I was working while listening and you guys launched me out of my task to sing along with the Frosted Flakes commercial and y’all who don’t remember it missed out
My favorite thing about when they all link up is all the smiles around the room!!!!!!! The smiles are on 100000000 and I can feel the energy through the screen ❤️
Not knowing the Frosted Flakes jingle is alarming. I’m 31 lol
this episode brought me such joy
i forgot about the frosted flakes jingle. crazy how memory works i just jumped right in with sam
'I need to finish vac-'
*New episode drop*
Say less, y'all my people. 🖤
When I did not know who Frank Gallagher was, my best friend who lives in Chicago made me get in the car, and she drove me to the shameless house. Then gave me a full rundown on the show. I feel the pain Maddie 😂
this podcast is the only thing that gets me through work🙏🏼
27:44 this is the plot of “What’s the Worst That Could Happen? “ great movie lol
amazing ep!
I needed this episode
This week in women’s gender study lecture we’re talking abt arranged marriages in Middle East and the women are 16 years old max. It’s a very very touchy subject!!
Yoooooo SJ is backkkkkkk what it do Comfy Cousins!!!
Sam- are you also a 1991 baby? When you sang “hey Tony”.. the song came out of my mouth. It unlocked some core memory of childhood.
That first story reminds me of that tik tok where a dude flew somewhere with his family for a relative's wedding, only to find out it was an arranged wedding for him and his cousin. Idk how true it was, but that's messed up.
.
Wow that second story... I had to force my mom to let me learn how to take care of my self when I became a teen, cuz she wanted to do everything for me, and I mean *everything*. Idk if it's because I was the youngest or she wanted to control me, or what...but I wasn't rocking with it. Idk how someone is ok living like that, especially if they're physically and mentally sound. 😅
I don't know if I love your podcast more for the stories and answers OR for the hilarious act outs :-D. this one killed me!
I nearly choked on my food on the first story's title! 🤣🤣🤣
Never watched this channel before but the skit made me cackle. Forget the reddit stories i love these people y'all are mad funny 😭💕💕💕💕💕
Im 27 and i remember the frosted flakes jingle!!
Right! I was so bewildered by them relating it to age! 😂
Its really sweet that none of them were clued in that the parents were in on it. I clocked that immediately, as she was reading the story. Thats sad, I'm so glad he went no contact with them. Just.... damn. My heart hurts for OP
When it comes to expiration dates, just use your eyes, nose and a taste. You will notice if something's off.
i love yall. best group of people.
Good times, like always ❤.
Me a 31 year old singing the Frosted Flakes jongle 😂
I’ve never been here so early 😅
Same lmaooo
me neither lmao
I am a mid 90s baby and remember that jingle 😂
“2319 reporting” -Madie lmaaaaoooo
15:23
SJ...no we don't say that kefe 😂 SOME of us can admit it
I LOVE YOU COMFORT LEVEL PODCAST
SHAMELESS! Yasssss! Best show ever
20:08 the act out was very funny xD
Fave podcast guest
When i was training a new staff at my job, their second day i looked them dead in the face as we were leaving and said "i love you" like i would to my fiance or close friends. The way my face instantly twisted to shock was near grotesque and just quietly said "i... I dont know what just happened" and got in my car SO FAST
My milk goes bad before even the expiration date 😫😫
Sam, I love your outfit!!! Looking cute in the overalls! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Story 2 is iconic behavior lmao
I love watching yall but sometimes the “act out” be dragging it a bit.. just a lil bit lol
I’m lactose intolerant so when I cook with dairy I pour a little into the sink because milk ALWAYS stinks to me 😂
My grand parents wanted to arrange a marriage for my mom in Poland. They had a giant property and the neighbors had a giant property too. They chatted about getting a MEGA property and we’re prepared to remove the dividing fence.. when my mom found out she ran off to Warsaw, met my dad, and had me lol.
I thought SJ said "love-ivore." Sam is a love-ivore, haaay!
In some of those areas him not marrying her after geting her knocked up could get major repercussions
I laughed out loud at the kidney comment
Yay!
SJ WHAT DAY IN JANUARY???? Mine is January 7th!! I just turned 25!!!
Wait wait wait, I’ve only watched a few of your guys pod episodes but… are Maddy and Brandon dating? Did I miss something???
Yes😊
@@Hua.- that’s awesome!!
@@leroybrownie90 they're adorable together
The ability all four of you had to NOT BAWL YOUR EYES OUT while reading the last story was astounding to me, quite impressive.
I loved that last story, I had similar situations pop up in my life and you'd be surprised what good can come out of supporting an ex partner in a trustworthy, platonic way. Gorgeous story, so sad, and I'm thankful OP took the opportunity to let it benefit THEIR healing, not just their ex's.
The first story is why people should wait until married
Sorry I’ve never heard the Frosted Flakes commercial and I’m older than everyone on the couch.
Sam is hysterical 😂
Parents that involved, not surprising, I had a friend who had an arranged marriage and when her in-laws came for a visit they would lurk outside of friend's bedroom door wanting to make sure grandbabies would be coming soon.
If this man sees his ex wife while she's dying, then his current wife needs to come as well
With milk i go by the rule of two weeks, no matter the date its bad 2 weeks after opening it end of story.
You know how to take a breakfast and make it grrrreat!
52:39 personally I would meet one more time to give her closure but also let her know that she doesn’t get to ask to feel like a wife again when she ruined her chance to be my wife by having an affair. She doesn’t get to ask for that feeling and experience when she couldn’t even honor being a wife when she was one
Hi Sam even though you never say it back 🤨
HI MADDIE ,SJ AND BRANDON 🫶🏽
32:00 This boy has some deeply internalized misogyny and is telling you the kind of husband he would be. Don't waste your time staying with him if you don't want to be his maid if you get married. They're just not compatible
I don’t know this frosted flame song.
Wow
21:31 Brandon “ok rob me”
Madi was so good to remind everyone of the cultural differences!
Guess the shirts answer my comment on one of the other videos lol its super cool to see other Nebraska peeps! Super inspiring. My partners and i want to make our own podcasts eventually so it's so fun seeing people from our place.
Makes you feel seen.
About the last story, I find it devastating that this woman spent the final 12 years of her life pining over a man who would never love her again.
I don’t condone cheating. Still, I agree with OP, “She made a mistake and paid the price for it. It doesn’t mean she’s an evil person.” OP may have been the one who got away, but she could’ve and should’ve moved on.
I don’t subscribe to the belief that there’s only one person out there for anyone. I wish someone helped her to snap out of this limiting belief. I wonder if she had anyone telling her it was okay to move on, that she deserved to be happy. If she had allowed herself to start anew she might’ve had a husband and/or children to try to keep living for.
Instead she’s using her illness to manipulate this married man she barely knows anymore into seeing her. OP sounds like a wonderful human being and it’s nice that they had this moment, but it’s a shame how her life unfolded. Life is too short for truly remorseful people not to be able to forgive themselves.
AND YOUR SOUL💀💀💀💀💀💀
@11:20 this family is toxic!! And the girl is crazy.
Is the hosts 2 sets of couples
First story would’ve easily been prevented if people would stop being so scared to tell people things
Fun fact I’ve learned in public health: pasteurization is a miracle and the worse expired milk can do to you is maybe give you the runs. So really the expiration date is a recommendation and how long you keep your milk is entirely up to personal tolerance for the taste :D
35:55 I moved in with my husband during Covid after five months and he does his share of the housework and is the only one working since I'm raising our daughter lol. But I knew he was capable of doing things for himself, I was 24 and he was almost 28!
33:47 patriarchy ain’t got nothing to do with it y’all love throwing that word around there’s men that will accept that same deal not every female knows how to cook or right clean especially in this generation
33:52 “destroying the patriarchy” cringe. This has nothing to do with some stupid ass idea of “patriarchy” it’s a mother and father who chose a life and didn’t raise the kid to choose their own life well enough, or at least choose a better partner
