Nice build. I see your making good progress. Most importantly thank you for being conservative and tasteful with the car. No goofy wings....or well you get the point.
Thank you for this video! Extremely insightful for the instal and extremely well done.Just put them on my ‘05 GT along with a Brenspeed performance tune (and some other stuff). They sound great! I have 2 suggestions to add having done this myself: 1- You will very likely get “some” debris in your valve train in the process of removing your valve covers/manipulating the cams, etc. so I would suggest dropping your oil after you tighten the new cams, and pouring some oil onto each side so any debris drains out, then go ahead and add new oil & filter. 2- when you’re removing the cam phaser bolt, use an air gun if you have it! Getting it off quick makes it less likely to disturb the timing chain.
@@Four_Eyes I agree on the body style. Sounds incredible man great job on the install and great tutorial video! The quality of your videos are amazing keep up the good work and keep the videos coming. My Mustang is the same color as yours and I went with the frpp cams but had a shop install it after seeing your video it made me feel confident that I could have tackled the install myself. Anyways thanks for taking the time to share your videos hope to see another one soon.
Great video, sir! Detroit Rockers do just what Brenspeed says they'll do.Good drivability, great sounding idle, and they make decent power. The NA grind also works good with superchargers,if you're thinking down the road.I'm running them in mine, and i love 'em...
About to troubleshoot a ticking noise. Possibly a bad cam roller follower or stuck lifter. I've watched this video multiple times. Thanks for posting and assisting DIYer to tackle these kinds of issues. I have a 2006 Mustang GT the same color as yours. Love it.
Sounds amazing major respect for not just throwing in hot rod cams but ik u are actually researching how to build a 3V not like these kids i see all the time cant wait to see more vids keep em coming
This is super late but this video is the reason I was able to install my camshafts on my 3v! I decided on the BBR Stage 1 cams and I couldnt be happier with the chop and huge difference in performance. Thanks for making this video!
I have a 2010gt, i went with the brenspeed detroit rockers. Luv em. Very drivable, choppy idle, and on the dyno the graph shows a climb the whole way, never drops. A bunch of cams are cool id imagine. Ultimate choice depends on what the car is for, in your life.
As soon as you called out the other tubers, I smashed the like button on and off about 20 times lol. Thank YOU for not abandoning your platform. Was wondering where you were. I know that you’ll tell us in another video what happened prior to this video. Good choice on the brenspeed cams. They are proven and work well with forced induction. And yea, it sounds sooo good. 💪🏾😎
Great Video, I actually installed the same Cams in my 2006 Saleen Mustang from the steps of your video. It’s really not hard but took a little time. Definitely a 1 day job and I did it myself. I am not a mechanic but am mechanically inclined. Thanks for making it easier for me to do this install. Your car is sick!
When I first got mine I didn't have the Kooks long tube headers with h- pipe once that was installed I noticed a big power difference. Before only on top end range. Yes, they do sound great. Please make more videos. I personally love my Brenspeed cams which I read on Mustang Forums they produce more power than Ford Racing Cams.
Rarely do I comment, but having just acquired an 05 for a project, your videos have been a huge asset. Outstanding quality and clear content for the adults in the room. Subbed.
Amazing, amazing, amazing video. Can't say it enough. This helped me tackle my cam install. I took my time, did my research and, mainly because of this video, was able to install them. I had some hiccups, but nothing that wasn't my own clumsiness' doing. Thank you Four Eyes for making my first dose of engine work an awesome learning experience!
Again a very clean and descriptive video and the ride sounds great..I have a set of Detroit rockers spec'd for my roush m90 supercharger..but I need a shop to do the install.
Great video! You must work in the business. Not many rookie youtubers start off with such high quality content and editing. If I'm wrong, take it as an even higher compliment! I came for the Mustang. I subscribed for the quality.
Good job. I feel confident that I can do this install myself now. I like those cams too, they sound awesome. Looking forward to your next video and some dyno numbers !!
Great choice of the cam. The sound is awesome and does not have that large lop sound that sounds like a drag car. The videos are fun to watch and gives great information on upgrades. Great job.
I really love the sound of the Detroit rockers, but my goal is for more power over sound, but to stay streetable. So I've come up with a combo for my f150 5.4 3v that "I think" will give me what I'm looking for. Custom grind cam, intake 235°@.490 lift, exhaust 230°@.500 lift With 112°lobe separation , port match the intake and exhaust, shorty headers, cat delete w/dual 2.5 exhaust w/xpipe. Hope this works.
Long dead thread but you're more or less wasting your money. First, the shorty headers do absolutely nothing for you so whatever gains you do get will strictly be through the cams. The second are the cams in general. Unless you can get intake adapters to fit something other than the truck manifold you'll barely see much of a gain over 15 wheel because the stock manifold can't flow enough. The heads can support an easy 250-350 wheel but it's the intake that lets the 5.4 down.
Just joined the channel; great video. The details on the install set you apart from basically all other mustang channels, and place in you ChrisFix territory. Looking forward to watching the channel grow!!
I went hot rod cams before a tune i picked up 20 peak torque 60 curve and 30 peak horse 45 curve and the chops with my exhaust setup are a very unique sound
Those Detroit cams are eargasmic... hey, quick warning before you jump into the rabbit hole that is suspension upgrades on your S197... don't make the same mistake that I did. If you are going to lower the car any distance at all, realize that the further you lower your suspension, the more stress/wear&tear you will put on certain components. Changing said parts out for adjustable versions of them will greatly reduce said stress. IE. the 05-09 parts that usually should be replaced when you lower the car include adjustable front sway bar end links, adjustable tie rod ends (aka. bumpsteer kit), ball joints, adjustable rear upper AND lower control arms, and adjustable panhard bar (alternatively, throw out the panhard bar for a Watts Link kit, which is expensive). I'd advise for KONI STR.T shocks/struts, and SR Performance's Strut Tower Brace and 1.5" Lowering Spring Kit. Best value you can get, but keep in mind lowering the car will come with needing to upgrade some of the suspension to adjustable parts. Love your channel, love your videos. It's a damn shame you don't have more subs/views, because your quality>quantity approach is hard to come by in the car community these days. Kudos.
Thanks for the thoughtful comment. The suspension upgrades will constitute a near-complete overhaul. Definitely not just getting coil-overs and calling it good.

Dude, I was super close to buying Hot Rod cams for my car, but now you have me thinking about Detroit Rockers! Thanks for another awesome video.
They're both great choices, but I do think the Rockers are slightly more optimized for power (we'll see!).
@@Four_Eyes How long did it take you to get the Detroit Rockers? Looks like Brenspeed has them on back order.
