1. The radar sensor is a catastrophe! This was designed so much better in the predecessor. 2. The trunk space is a joke. I think, that Bentley customers want to use the cars for long journeys. 3. What about the weight? Is it the reason for the top speed limit of the GTC?
Not only the screen bezels are gigantic for such a car, but the panel gap in the centre console screen at 9:23 is also thick for such an expensive car, and the whole gimmick feels like a random aftermarket attempt to make the car look cool. I'm real, check the new Dacia Duster's centre console screen, the vertical bezels aren't as wide as Bentley's. On the other hand, the Mazda CX-60 bezels are THICK, but they look way less "cheap". Once again, many brands are too focused on making technological and fast cars, rather than making better cars.
Would have like to have seen a bit more of a change, but l will take it all day long. There's nothing like it. However, l sure hope you can delete all that blue crap.
YES, they kept the integrated LCD display for the instruments, I hate when there is just a tablet thrown onto the dash, looks 1000x better with proper sun-shading housing. Also physical buttons, shift-selector, awesome
no they needed to keep the front 4 lights thats what keeps a bentley a bentley. I dont know what it is with companies ditching what makes their cars iconic like how bmw ruined their grill and removed the angel lights
I like the cross-out line. Bentley CEO explained it, it represents them canceling out something, them canceling out the other headlight. So they’re explaining through art what’s going on. First brand to pull it off successfully
Thomas, the tool in the rear centre that you didn't know what it was for is the Emergency Release Tool for when the soft top roof won;t automatically go back in to the up postion. There is a hole behind the centre rest where the tool is kept that the tool fits into and it requires 2 people on either side of the car to asist putting the roof back into the closed postion. A handy tool if the roof is down and it wont close automatically and it looks like rain !!
Exactly, physical operation has feel to it, luxury is the touch and "click" operation, the weighted buttons, knobs, and fine materials. This is luxury, not the simple display touchpads and capacitive BS, which is just a cheap lazy solution

As a W12 Speed owner I was weary about the release of a total new version of the GTC. Apart from the lights and the ‘stealth’ buttons, I hardly notice any visual change (good for me) :)
I guess it was a major German auto industry reveal day. Have seen so many videos for different German model reveals today. From the Jetta and Golf to Bentley (which is basically German) to the new M5
The placement of that radar or night vision thingy on the front grill looks like an afterthought and so out of place. I kinda like the previous gen better
Great video...BEAUTIFUL automobile....subtle classy revision cant wait to see in person!....most of the "haters" commenting will never own a Bentley so of course its easy to judge ...funny..
They really have to put that giant sensor off-center in the main grille? Also, the B logo on the brake pedal is quite gimmicky. Might seem like small things but when you're buying a $200K car, it should be pretty close to perfect.

9:15 That's how it should be done. Looks so ridiculously cheap when they just glue a whole desktop screen on the dash. Who even came up with that idea... Looks like something someone did at home with some cheap parts from the hardware store..
Considering the design: From the outside it is not surprisingly a new model but kind of face-lift. From the inside almost the previous model, just some small changes. This doesn’t mean that this new update is not good enough, it rather tells that the old model was well developed.
A great preview, thank you. This Bentley, like most of them, is wonderful though utterly pointless. I really like all the UI/UX decisions which Mercedes/Maybach in particular could learn a lot from; Bentley just so much more class.
I like it. It is "objectively" better than the previous version, but some of the subjective factors leave me wanting. I prefer the traditional dual-circle headlights with crystal-like bezels. The W-12 will also be missed despite the phev V-8 being more powerful and emissions-friendly. The 3d texture part of the interior door panel is cool, but i'd rather have a stitched leather pattern (hopefully that option is also available). I could go on, just little stuff like that, but overall this is a very competent re-design. Some things should have been changed more, and other things should not have been changed as much.
Clearly you can see the cheapening of the brand with a less plush interior and the parts bin sharing with Audi / Porsche becoming more prominent….just as Aston Martin is on the rise. BIG mistake
Thank you very much for your interest in this topic. I also bought cars with animal skin leather seats before I did my research and got to know the industry. The most important thing is: With today's modern materials, you have nothing to lose, just to gain. You achieve the same kind of luxury and comfort or even better while having the same or better durability with less impact on humans, animals and the environment. You can use fabric/cloth, microfibre or leatherette. The classic approach is using oil/plastic as source material. Overall, a vehicle contains about 300 kg plastic. A car seat needs about 5 kg plastic. So the overall plastic share for the seats is very low and it is at this moment the most efficient way to produce a car seat. A couple of litres of fuel equals a car seat basically. So if you want to save oil/plastic, rather look at consumption for energy, fuel and heating and to other car parts than the seat. Note that animal skin leather also always contains a plastic coating for durability. However, long-term we should of course find raw oil alternatives. So going further, seats can be made from recyclables (e.g. from PET-bottles or old fishing nets) or even increased share of plant-based materials (like pine oil, canola oil or start-up materials like Pinatex from pineapple leaves or Desertex from cactus fibre or the mixed-plant-based Mirum, so be seen at th-cam.com/video/S1aNZeoatmE/w-d-xo.html). On a calculation base, by ditching animal skin leather from car interiors, the amount of emissions (CO2e) is reduced by 85 (!) % (www.press.bmwgroup.com/africa-dom-easteurope/article/detail/T0403389EN/on-the-market-from-2023:-bmw-and-mini-models-with-vegan-interiors?language=en) - and that is a very conservative calculation. So it is at this moment the most important thing you can do to make car interiors more sustainable. A good example for high-end luxury with ventilated animal free seats is the BMW X7 with Sensafin: th-cam.com/video/1pRNkW9nrrw/w-d-xo.html And the Kia EV9 with plant-based oil share: th-cam.com/video/6vXePQi_MAk/w-d-xo.html New leatherette materials can be superior in every aspect, even for cleaning: th-cam.com/video/u94YXJ72UTA/w-d-xo.html More and more natural materials are rising: th-cam.com/video/nRSsXEnwHDo/w-d-xo.html Also check out what the animal skin leather industry tried to with our channel: th-cam.com/video/nP_CvLlaFlI/w-d-xo.html For seeing how the animals are being treated and transported in the global leather industry, watch this footage: th-cam.com/video/tkjCAmq1_8E/w-d-xo.html Note that the footage is genuine and was recorded by a highly decorated investigative journalist in Germany I know myself personally. Also a group of researchers and German journalists from public media could recent directly trace the connection between car animal leather production and illegal burning down Amazon rain forest: www.daserste.de/information/reportage-dokumentation/ard-story/videos/illegales-leder-video-100.html In a high animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter. However even if meat is the "first" misuse case, the hide remains a profitable body part. That means: If manufacturers put animal leather in a car and you demand it as a customer, you give your money to an industry that earns money by oppressing humans, animals and harms the environment, you make them more profitable. Alternatively, you could support industries with your wallet which try to improve the sustainability of materials. Also, if you turn the argument around to "meat is the waste of the leather industry" you realize that it doesn't make sense (and is ethically doubtful) to discuss the primary use of individual body parts of mammals. Mind experiment: You are getting slain down on the street; would it matter to you if it was for your smartphone or for your purse? Remember that animal skin leather is no different to fur, fur is just leather where the hair is still on. And fur is widely not accepted for clothing anymore, and of course not for cars. We cannot change what we have bought in the past, but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future. Not too sure if this is an improvement. The front end is not an improvement and everything else seems pretty much the same bar the rear lights, which are cool, unlike those very odd front lights. Will wait for the performance report.
So the Speed is not really replaced, and the "Speed"-brand has to sell the plug-in. Well, the customers probably even like it, the tax is cheaper and it probably still drives well on the Kö. However, calling a car Speed that is 50 km/h slower than its predecessor is quite something :D
I like all those physical buttons, but don't like the fact that they got rid of the wood dash. Wood looks a million times more classy than carbon/steel/alu/everything else.
What is the point to ask for a "no animal leather" car , if we eat every day meat ??. I any way the animal is killed. It is like saying kill the animal to eat it, but throw its leather at the bin because we want to be "leather-free".

@@autogefuehl first of all thank you for your detailed answer. Still , what we should aim for , is to avoid meat consumption, because its where millions of animals are killed every day. Their skin/leather is a byproduct, that we should ofcourse avoid consumption as well. But its not the main reason why animals are killed. Also , as europeans we are a bit hypocrite, we all are because we were educated like that. We say to the brazilians : For centuries, we as europeans destroyed all our big european forests to build our civilazation (houses, factories, offices, monuments, companies , parking lots , etc. But you Brazilians, you are not allowed to do the same thing with your forest. Because WE as western people want to breathe ! We never say that WE should build new forests in our territory, we say that THEY should keep their forests intact for our good...
@@panagope4 European countries have more surface covered in forrests than Brasil. Overall Europe has less by 20% but is also densely populated and has less suitable surface for trees if not mistaken. Either way based on everything we as well as some other countries in the world seem to lack forrests.
Totally agree, meat consumption is the largest problem, however as for leather, you just give money to the very same guys, its a discussion like between "steak" and "filet" and arguing what was the main reason to kill an animal.
No offense, but I don't think people like you can afford a Bentley. If you could, you can get their Mulliner division to trim the interior in any non-leather material you want. The tool you saw is likely for manual roof closing in case the battery is flat.

The problem is that if they dont offer animal free solution from works, they have to do crash tests for an individual customer and that doesnt happen. The interior materials are safety relevant for deploying of airbags etc.
@@autogefuehl You have much better access to the auto maker than I do, but I am pretty sure they have to meet safety standards even for a one-off. So I wouldn't worry about airbag not working correctly if you customize your interior. By the way, I am not against using non-leather. I am just pointing out Bentley is a little different from your average auto maker. If you don't like their standard offering. You have options and most Bentley buyer will exercise those options.
I asked them if they can supply animal free, there were some special editions they made for the Mulsanne but not much news after that. I can specifically re-ask if Mulliner can do that but last time the answer was no. I even visited Crewe plant. At Rolls Royce for example, they were explicitly hating on vegans with their old CEO. Might change with new CEO
lost the jewel lights, aston marton upped their game in headlight design and bentley downgraded. edit:- I don't know what exactly the tool is but I saw sister sage use it in the boys.
the tool is the Emergency Release Tool for the soft top roof. If the roof for any reason gets stuck when down and will not go up automatically, the tool is used to manually put the roof back in the closed position but it takes 2 people to do it, one on either side of the vehicle.
Why did they change the gt double signature light for goodness sake? Bentley got it wrong this time. who are they listening to? did customers complained of the head lamps? Wack move from bentley
I like the new look, I am not good with the fact that since Volkswagen has owned bentley, it's like the wheel designers don't know how to design Wheels... The GTC is a car I was actively looking to acquire for a minute My problem is with this new one is I like the new headline design, but I am still a fan of the old articulated daytime running lamp configuration, and Bentley seems to be taking a stroll down Cheapie St. Ever since Volkswagen bought them, it's like the old English bespoke range of choices has been vastly narrowed... and replaced with teutonic frugality. Though recently placed under the tutelage of audi, we will see what the new managerial headship gets as far as overall value to the customer. Because I'm not a fan with this whole "murdered out" look... all the smoked out trim the bright works have been replaced with, not a fan of that - no more big engines that was the whole thing with Grand touring... All excuses to be cheap.

It's beautiful, but I still prefer the previous one because of the stunning diamond front light
Same!
1. The radar sensor is a catastrophe! This was designed so much better in the predecessor.
2. The trunk space is a joke. I think, that Bentley customers want to use the cars for long journeys.
3. What about the weight? Is it the reason for the top speed limit of the GTC?
Who actually needs more than 660hp at the expense of a much smaller boot?
Not only the screen bezels are gigantic for such a car, but the panel gap in the centre console screen at 9:23 is also thick for such an expensive car, and the whole gimmick feels like a random aftermarket attempt to make the car look cool.
I'm real, check the new Dacia Duster's centre console screen, the vertical bezels aren't as wide as Bentley's. On the other hand, the Mazda CX-60 bezels are THICK, but they look way less "cheap".
Once again, many brands are too focused on making technological and fast cars, rather than making better cars.
Not bad looking by any means, but the squinty headlights make it look more generic and less special than the previous gen.
it's a ugly car, looks cheaper inside and out. It's more like a high end VW than a Bently. Sad🥲
@@yongchenlu6356 Interior looks the SAME 🤣
I agree on the headlights. For me, the whole car looks disjointed, as if three different departments worked on it separately. Not impressed at all.
Also physical buttons, shift-selector, awesome
that sensor that pokes out from the left of the grill just looks sooooooo bad
Stop it.. this is the most beautiful Bentley ever
no they needed to keep the front 4 lights thats what keeps a bentley a bentley. I dont know what it is with companies ditching what makes their cars iconic like how bmw ruined their grill and removed the angel lights
It's a bit like European countries racing to abandon their identities, isn't it?
I like the cross-out line. Bentley CEO explained it, it represents them canceling out something, them canceling out the other headlight. So they’re explaining through art what’s going on. First brand to pull it off successfully
Headlight a major fail. Bentley should know better.
Previous gen looks way better.. The front headlights turning into Chrysler..
"And it's supposed to be like a tiger in the front." Yeah, a tiger on meth.
Looks like a bad makeup on a failed actress .
Huge shoutout to Bentley for keeping climate controls and physical buttons on the centre console
Exactly, physical operation has feel to it, luxury is the touch and "click" operation, the weighted buttons, knobs, and fine materials. This is luxury, not the simple display touchpads and capacitive BS, which is just a cheap lazy solution

The previous one look better
Noooo
wow, matte finish on the buttons and button array! An actual improvement, wasn't expecting that.
As a W12 Speed owner I was weary about the release of a total new version of the GTC. Apart from the lights and the ‘stealth’ buttons, I hardly notice any visual change (good for me) :)
Keep your w12 speed. Much much better than this battery on wheels
It’s not a total new version but a facelift.
That door is huge. good luck to getting out of that in a UK car park
Don’t worry. You can use the remote park feature. Get out then park the car via your phone.
UK car park? Hardly. Let the valet handle it.
Just take two spaces👍
Looks pretty good, but last one was even better!
I guess it was a major German auto industry reveal day. Have seen so many videos for different German model reveals today. From the Jetta and Golf to Bentley (which is basically German) to the new M5
Beautiful love the new headlights
Thanks for the excellent demo Thomas!! The headlights look so cool in this new version!!😊😊❤❤
Yeah, Bentley kinda nailed this. Nice update/refresh/new model.
Great review, Thomas! As always, very thorough.
The placement of that radar or night vision thingy on the front grill looks like an afterthought and so out of place. I kinda like the previous gen better
The front lights have really nice design.I like this change.
Respect for the V8 👍
To be a Grand Tourer, it needs to carry luggage for at least two people. This won't even take an overnight bag each.
I just keep seeing "1990s Chrysler Sebring".
Great video...BEAUTIFUL automobile....subtle classy revision cant wait to see in person!....most of the "haters" commenting will never own a Bentley so of course its easy to judge ...funny..
cheers m8 !
You speak with no experience of life
Hybrid should be an option, not standard
They really have to put that giant sensor off-center in the main grille? Also, the B logo on the brake pedal is quite gimmicky. Might seem like small things but when you're buying a $200K car, it should be pretty close to perfect.
The rear armrest tool allows emergency boot release access if power fails.

The previous headlight was the most beautiful one. Why?!
I can't believe you need to spend $400,000 to get metal bits in a car interior
The hex key beetwen rear seats is for the emergency roof closeing
If it shares the platform with Porsche, does it support next gen Apple CarPlay?
Thanks
Front lamps little bit "koreanish" xD
This looks way better than any other previous models in my opinion.. love it!
9:15 That's how it should be done. Looks so ridiculously cheap when they just glue a whole desktop screen on the dash. Who even came up with that idea...
Looks like something someone did at home with some cheap parts from the hardware store..
Omg who signed off them eye brows, the Bentley has gone all girly!
Considering the design: From the outside it is not surprisingly a new model but kind of face-lift. From the inside almost the previous model, just some small changes. This doesn’t mean that this new update is not good enough, it rather tells that the old model was well developed.
Why is that every new car adopting those sleepy looking headlights?!
For a big car, no rear seat space and a tiny boot/trunk.
The overall car and features look great really! But the steering wheel + virtual cockpit features are the same than my Audi S3 from 2017. Isn't it?
The kingfisher blue looks so good.
A great preview, thank you.
This Bentley, like most of them, is wonderful though utterly pointless. I really like all the UI/UX decisions which Mercedes/Maybach in particular could learn a lot from; Bentley just so much more class.
Don’t know if it is still “special”. Rolls Royce Dawn would appear to be a more intriguing purchase in this class of vehicle.
Rolls-Royce never looked good. They are pretty bland, except for the front. They focus on feeling and interior. Bentley has much nicer exeriors.
First time the release the GTC at the same time as the GT... and first time they release the Speed version so early!
It's just a face-lift?
Clearly you can see the cheapening of the brand with a less plush interior and the parts bin sharing with Audi / Porsche becoming more prominent….just as Aston Martin is on the rise. BIG mistake
I hope Bentley will not decide to offer a completely animal free interior. It would be such a downgrade in its quality

In a high animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter.

Bentleys are SO VERY BEAUTIFUL….not something I would ever own but … beautiful to look at👍🏼😃
I think the tool is the release for the transmission in case of power failure. Allows the car to be towed.
From Japan . Door handles are good and nice.
Thanks for the buttons Bentley! It would be GREAT having an optional analog instrument cluster. Screens are for teenagers.
Not too sure if this is an improvement. The front end is not an improvement and everything else seems pretty much the same bar the rear lights, which are cool, unlike those very odd front lights. Will wait for the performance report.
Buttons clicking like my keyboard for 1998 old pc for 10 dollars 😅😅
Absolutely thrilled
So the Speed is not really replaced, and the "Speed"-brand has to sell the plug-in. Well, the customers probably even like it, the tax is cheaper and it probably still drives well on the Kö. However, calling a car Speed that is 50 km/h slower than its predecessor is quite something :D
My absolute favorite car! But can't afford it 😂 but it seems like in few years it's gonna be the only Cabriolet you can get 😢
Those headlights...🤢
Thank you Thomas for 5:30 stating Bentley needs to hurry up and make fully animal free interiors.
thanks my friend !

Either way based on everything we as well as some other countries in the world seem to lack forrests.
Totally agree, meat consumption is the largest problem, however as for leather, you just give money to the very same guys, its a discussion like between "steak" and "filet" and arguing what was the main reason to kill an animal.
It satisfies some fragile heart millionaires feeling.......

I think the tool is to repair a flat tire. Like the ones you get in a fix a flat kit.
No offense, but I don't think people like you can afford a Bentley.
If you could, you can get their Mulliner division to trim the interior in any non-leather material you want.
The tool you saw is likely for manual roof closing in case the battery is flat.

Thanks for hint for the tool! The Bentley folks on location didnt even know about that!
Lovely design but surely they could shorten the bonnet and find space to make rear seats useable
I dont know what that tool is for but when my Bentley is ready ill let you know xD
That interior Leather looks Goooood
Headlight nooo
lost the jewel lights, aston marton upped their game in headlight design and bentley downgraded.
edit:- I don't know what exactly the tool is but I saw sister sage use it in the boys.
the tool is the Emergency Release Tool for the soft top roof. If the roof for any reason gets stuck when down and will not go up automatically, the tool is used to manually put the roof back in the closed position but it takes 2 people to do it, one on either side of the vehicle.
@dazpurdon9023 yes, I was just joking.

Absolutely stunning
Why did they change the gt double signature light for goodness sake? Bentley got it wrong this time. who are they listening to? did customers complained of the head lamps? Wack move from bentley
headlights suck.

the most iconic feature of Bentleys is the dual headlights, the designer needs to be fired!!
The headlight is horrid
The grill is completely ruined
Beautiful car🎉
Citroen c1 headlights
I really do not like the headlights. I'm hoping that it's an option and not standard issue.
I like the new look, I am not good with the fact that since Volkswagen has owned bentley, it's like the wheel designers don't know how to design Wheels...
The GTC is a car I was actively looking to acquire for a minute
My problem is with this new one is I like the new headline design, but I am still a fan of the old articulated daytime running lamp configuration, and Bentley seems to be taking a stroll down Cheapie St.
Sorry, but the front still echoes of Toyota Corolla (gen E110)
