    Idk why would the engineers do not think about radar system placement? I mean that's so ugly putting that radar sensor in the middle of the grill !

    • @JohnyMcNeal
      @JohnyMcNeal 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +20

      Because it needs to be functional before anything else, there's regulations and limits about its placement positon. ;) Same as with MX-5 redesign for example but they made an effort. And many other models.

    • @the.mylooo
      @the.mylooo 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      @@JohnyMcNeal that's too logical but at least hide it somehow like VW group do or some other manufacturer, in this particular car I think it was not a full redesign just a face lift cuz before it it wasn't equiped with that radar

    • @the.mylooo
      @the.mylooo 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      That's why it was a bit hard to place.

    • @ruffmadman
      @ruffmadman 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      Yeah, but when you see how Genesis approaches this, it makes you wonder why Bentley (and Audi) do that.
      I mean, there has to be some sort of reason for it though. I've never seen a radar module shaped like a dome aside from something similar on Audi models.

      Bugatti gets it right with their cars. They know screens will look dated in years to come so it's analogue dials all the way.

    • @dachuanchen
      @dachuanchen 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They both have analog gauges/switches and a display in the center console. The Bugatti Tourbillon has a vertical retracting center display. In the Bentley, the central display can be rotated to reveal three analog gauges as Thomas demonstrates in the video.

    • @lukegraham9603

      Luxury buyers want tech. There’s a lot of functionality that comes with a digital cluster, and old gauges are just that…. Old…. Decisions like that are made by the market, not the manufacturers

      I dislike it. They should have either moved it below the grill or center it in the grill or perhaps hide it behind the grill. The only saving grace is it isn't that noticeable with a blacked out chrome grill.

    Please Thomas stop making comments about manufacturers using 'animal skin' for seats wrongly making uneducated negative comments suggesting this is bad and not sustainable. FYI, no cow is ever killed for its skin!!!!! Cows are killed for their meat ie food - their skin is always a by-product. It is good that when animal killed for food, there is no waste and the cow skin is put to practical use. By definition, leather seats are perfectly sustainable as are a by product of the natural process of eating an animal.

    That`s exactly the problem of the "new" Continental GT: It is technically "only" a Panamera, because it has lost the exclusive W12-engine.

    A great review of a car absolutely nobody needs at €250k, but fun thank you.
    I think the car would look better in British racing green rather than in something as loud as the pink reviewed. They have done a great job in taming the worst of VW/Audi’s software and the digital part of the UI is kept where it should be - more or less unseen when not needed. The UI/UX is simply classier and more effective than some of the worst that Audi does nowadays. Assuming I was going to spend the money what would put me off would be the huge weight. Maybe a Maserati Folgore might be more fun.

    I get why some want buttons over touch screen, but once a button is assigned a function in a car it can never be upgraded because it is hard wired. An example is the fan speed selector for the AC may only have four settings with buttons, but on a touch screen a software update can change that control to variable fan speeds. Having the ability to have future functions is important to a lot more younger buyers who are tech saavy.

      No, it would be a Ferrari 12C competitor. Think about it, the front engines Super GT has moved on. A Porsche Panamera Coupe, would put Porsche into another market. One that Ferrari, Aston Martin, and even Bentley play in. But, Ferrari was king of the “Hyper Sports GTs” (if that’s a thing). And Aston Martin trailed along.
      Now, Porsche could leverage its hybrid tech and produce a 800+ hp GT with RWD bias.

    • @TheCluesRNTheBlues
      @TheCluesRNTheBlues 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jambear7862 We don’t know that yet. As they have not been tested. Aston as ALWAYs fallen behind Ferrari in terms of performance when it comes to that segment. Remember, the 12 Cilindri is NA, and the Aston Martin Vanquish is twin turbo, which means that the V12 exhaust is muted.
      Also, Aston Martin had to do an about face, because the Vanquish was supposed to be a mid-engined Hot V6, to compete against the Ferrari 296 and Huracan replacement. But they had teething issues, so then they were supposed to use the AMG V8, that fell through. Now they have a TTV12 in a front engined GT. This all happened in 4-5 yrs. Whereas Ferrari already was working on the 812 Superfast replacement.
