Main thing about the DS1 is that it was designed mostly as a kind of “puxed amp boost”, like putting it to boost a slightly broken amp like a marshall, thats why it sounds so mid scooped when going through a clean amp

thing about the ds1 is that it requires a lot of tweaking amp wise. If you know how to set everything up, youre golden. If not…

Don't try to record a part until you have it down really well! If you neglect to practice the part enough, you'll play it sloppily or tenatively and will probably have to do multiple takes to get it right. The problem is, every time you attempt another take, you lose a little bit of energy and you can feel this when you hear it in the mix. So, get the part down cold, then nail it in one or two takes.

it is G#Maj because it is in the harmonic minor scale not natural minor that's a very common scale in Alt rock and the added note in this scale creates some cool chords , Arctic Monkeys use that a lot.so that tip is just wrong ….overall you have great videos keep rocking !

I'm with you on this. My guitars are in E flat standard and I quite often drop The bottom E flat. But also I do like to dig in, combination of the two means I've gone to Mondo slinkies which are 10.5-52 Also regarding bottom end, if you've got a preamp pedal or a fuzz pedal or anything like that where you can roll the bottom end off having the bottom go into it still affects the behaviour of it and I prefer the way it sounds having it go in and then roll off on the pedal then lighter gauge strings

Love the RAT! but just to throw some sunshine the other way, the DS1 is a great pedal for recording guitar and getting it clear in the mix.

Chorus is the best pedal ever….but I own a JC85 so I don’t always need it…..Chorus= Johnny Marr, Robert Smith etc etc….80s indie sounds are stunning….Flanger for John Squire etc and genuinely fantastic background psychedelic tones over verses before going heavy.

Nope….compressor and EQ are fantastic pedals….completely disagree….especially with bright single coil pickups

DS-1 is harder to get the tone out of, it needs specific settings to sound good. Something is wrong here and it’s sounding way too thin.
