RodsAngleUK
United Kingdom
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 9 ต.ค. 2019
A fishing channel that aims to inform anglers of all abilities about different UK surf fishing locations and catching fish from them.
Watch and maybe learn about a new fishing locality, consider a different approach to a familiar venue, or just be amused by another angler’s style.
RodsAngleUK videos follow a ‘no nonsense' approach, explaining techniques and rigs and revealing all marks fished.
A mixture of in-depth venue coverage, through several sessions to gauge trends / hone tactics ('catch fish at...' series) and short 'day-trip' visits to specific marks. Knowledge gained from these experiences is shared.
UK shore fishing - largely ‘continental’ style.
Hopefully enjoy, find some value in watching and please consider subscribing.
Any comments and suggestions for content, would be really appreciated.
Welcome, and thanks for visiting this channel.

Shoreham - WINTERTON WAY
Another video from the Shoreham to Worthing area, West Sussex (UK). This one takes you back to the eastern end, adjacent to The Burrells, which is possibly the best known part of this stretch.
Two short daytime sessions (recorded on 30.05.24 and 11.06.24), hoping to catch plaice at the Winterton Way section at Shoreham. The target species was caught in both sessions, with the first was pretty slow, but also produced a bass. The second session was a bit more successful. Rigs and techniques employed are dealt with.

Catch Fish from Chesil Beach - WEST BEXINGTON: SWYRE
มุมมอง 4.4K21 วันที่ผ่านมา
One of a series of videos on Chesil Beach in Dorset, UK. This video covers a daytime session in May targeting plaice at the shallower end at West Bexington, (Dorset, UK). The session (21.05.24), was fished at the White House mark, Swyre. Unfortunately plaice did not make an appearance, but a blank was avoided with the capture of a gurnard and a couple of decent smooth hounds.. Nevertheless, I c...
Catch Fish From the East Kent Coast: DEAL - CAMBRIDGE ROAD
มุมมอง 3.2K28 วันที่ผ่านมา
A couple of spring daytime sessions at Cambridge Road, near the boundary between Deal and Walmer (Kent, UK). In the first session (recorded on 12.04.24), I fished the tide up to high water and a few hours of the ebb; the second (recorded on 25.05.24) was over high water and down. Both sessions had a pretty strong tidal pull and resulted in the capture of plenty of dogfish, and a welcomed plaice...

This video covers a session in September (filmed on 30.09.23) and two in April (filmed 24.04.24 and 26.04.24). All were fished over high water and I came here to try and catch decent bass. That target was not achieved, however there were plenty of bites to be had in the fist session; not so in the Apri...

มุมมอง 4.5K2 หลายเดือนก่อน
Another in a series on shore fishing in Southampton Water, Hampshire (UK). This video follows on from the one which covers Ensign Way North. It deals with attempting to catch flounders over 3 daytime sessions in April, at different marks in the southern end of the Ensign Way stretch (filmed on 06.04.24, 08.04.24 and 22.04.24), of Southampton Water. The first session was in very windy conditions...

Two daytime sessions (recorded on 29.08.22 and 10.04.24) originally fishing for bass at the Lifeboat Station section, Dungeness (Kent, UK). The first session was fished in ideal conditions, but was pretty hard; a fair few fish were caught in the second session, but condition were not that good on the day. I deal with my approach to targeting bass here and then a general approach to catching any...

Any chance of you demonstrating what the difference is between bites ? With all your experience can you show us a few different types please
The ole Muff Busters are looking a bit corroded these day's mike.
Nice session rod shame no home takers but least you didn't blanked. Tight lines for your next foray.
Hi, Mick, can I ask you when you are fishing in the day. What sort of time do u generally do this. Not having much luck lately, fishing in the afternoons at Hastings Harbour. Many Thanks!
Hi Mick ... A plethora of Plaice, but no pan size contenders ... Nevertheless another very watchable video 😊 ...
Awesome again Mick u picked the right plaice 2 fish shame thay were small fish but thay saved it being a blank .Happy catching from Australia Nick .
Great upload, mick, kind regards Mike, Norfolk
What's your thoughts on bells?
Another nice video, should consider keeping fish that are definitely not going survive .
I read it as Winteron the way first time, and I had to agree!
Good one - it was pretty cold at times! I'm in to cryptic messages and mythology; but don't place (correct spelling) any in my vids - if there are any its down to the gods!
Nice vid Mike and Nice hair cut or did you have your ears lowered? Regards Andrew
AWESOME
Many thanks!
And a bonus lead
But then I lost it!
Some nice size dogfish and good to see that plaice
Yes - pity there weren't any more flatfish.
I am fairly new to fishing, i have watched lots of your videos. Because of you I have just bought some boom rigs and also some salted lug. I especially like your clip from Hastings Harbour, as i fish there often. Anyway thanks for your clips, i have learnt a lot from them.
Many thanks for that. Boom rigs don't always work - sometimes fish will shy away from them; but they do help nail your baits to the seabed and bites show up well.
Well done thanks for location markers as ever you are best vlogger for doing this.I fished this venue a couple of years ago i blanked.
It can be a bit hit and miss. I'm not keen on vids that refer to venues as 'a mark on Chesil,' or 'somewhere on the south coast' etc..
End up with a Dover sole Michael lovely for the plate deserve that thanks
Thanks - my favourite fish!
Another amazing video Michael sitting at home lovely your videos and going on Saturday can't wait loads of fish again and soon good tips for a good fisherman
Thanks Clive 👍
Hi Mick ... It just goes to show that fish can turn up, even when you are packing up to leave ... Extending your session proved worthwhile, even though you didn't catch any target plaice ... 2 stonking smoothies would make any anglers day ... Well done. 🐟🐟🎣🎣 Ps. I think Dylan, from 'Frugal Outdoors', has purloined your hoodie ... It has 'The sole man' on the back of it ...
Vid with sole on its way soon! Sometimes we give up when the fish are about to start feeding - always worth that 'last cast'.
A great end to a slow start two nice smoothies rod.Well done.
Thanks for that.
Second session as good as the first Michael love watching your videos keep them coming and thanks again for your good work
Thanks again Clive.
Another great video for first one loads of fish good day
Thanks
Well done Michael, just goes to show that you are always in with a shout while you have a bait in the water. I think I may have packed up long before your capture 🐟
Yes - you never know with Chesil; it can suddenly switch on just when you are thinking that nothing is going to happen.
Another great video Michael and a lovely smooth hound top man and that crab i would have had that for the pot love crabs cheers
Cheers Clive.
Awesome again Mick smooth hounds called gummy shark here prized catch and good eating sold in most chippies good to give to kids 2 eat as they don't have any bones. Happy catching from Australia Nick
I know a couple who would take them; but I can't bring myself round to doing so!
Brilliant result with the hounds Mick, just goes to show that we always use pulley rigs for hounds but a 3 hook paternoster can catch anything ..Top Angling
Yes - I mainly fish with small baits and hooks; but still get a fair number of decent fish. Fishing big baits and big hooks, you'll increase your chances of getting better fish, but are unlikely to catch the small ones, so are more likely to blank.
Nice video. I've been looking for a decent seat/box everywhere. Where did you get yours?
Online - but can't remember where. Its a RidgeMonkey Bucket Seat XL.
Chinook was the highlight of the video for me, very low pass from it. The gurnard you caught is a grey gurnard.
Thanks for the ID - I think that might be my first of that species! Thanks for watching Robert.
Parking charges are a crime,
Yes - but you can still park there for free in the evening - just have to time your sessions around that.
Always enjoy your videos thanks for sharing another informative piece of hard work to entertain us fishy folk
Thanks for that.
Me and the wife just been to west bexington caught my PB bass but that was it all bank holiday weekend
At least that made up for a quite time - well done!
Another good video Michael relaxing at home you love your plaice and i learn alot from your videos thanks hope see another one soon cheers
Many thanks for watching and your kind remarks 👍
First one great video Michael small plaice but nice to see and no blank
Yes - a bit small, but better than nothing.
Another good video.. On Tuesday night 3 of us Ipswich lads drove went to saint oysth Essex we had a cracking night smooth hounds and a few bass.
Nice one - I really must get back that way soon.
@@rodsangleuk6283 We where near the holiday camp we parked up by the chip shop it's a dead end road so can't really go wrong We didn't want to go anywhere else as apparently it's a nudest beach and we had enough worms
It was a nice sunny day?
That helps if the fishing isn't great!
Another good video Michael some nice fish as well would be nice to see you back soon cheers
Have fished Shoreham recently - vid on its way!
Another good video Michael thanks for that and few fish top man love your videos thanks again
Glad you like them!
You fished worm mostly, I believe, which is why you weren’t immediately into the Doggies, they will eat virtually anything of course, but fish baits are best for them. Mackerel will get them on the beach quickly and continuously to the exclusion of all else at times, so I just stopped fishing Mackerel hoping to not catch Doggies, Sand eels are a better fish bait, I feel, they’ll catch Smooth hounds, and Rays , with flatfish falling to worms. Frozen black lug, are a good bait too. Catching some really nice Dover Sole on the South Wales coast during the summer months and Cod during winter, all such good eating. Fresh Peelers for the Bass! The prolific Dogfish numbers are spoiling the fishing though, as fishing trips, take some planning, and they aren’t cheap either, just to catch them damned Doggies!!! Is it really worth it? Thanks for the vid, that wind noise was a nuisance.
Yes - I agree about baits for dogfish: which is why I avoided using fish baits as much as possible, since I didn't want to catch them, unless there's nothing else present!
Wow Michael, the sea bed must have been carpeted with those doggies. Thanks for another great video 🐟👍
Yes, unfortunately, it probably was.
How many hours before high water can you start fishing?. Based on an average tide ,cheers.
You can fish whenever you like, but better to wait until the water is hitting the wall. I seem to only catch soles from half an hour before the top to about 2 hrs down.
Around into the Thames Estuary, bluey herring and squid baits, and youre into a good area for some skate and bass👍 especially fishing during sunrise or sunset 👌
Sounds great! Any particular venue fishing well?
at least the doggies were big enough to make a decent meal.
I don't take them; although I know some will.
Struck too early? No point striking at all when beach fishing. Just wind down quickly until feeling the weight of the fish. Striking, then feeling for a fish, then reeling in slowly? Thats the best way to lose fish👎
Sounds like you fish with mono - it's a different story when you fish with braid reel lines.
Could you do a educational film showing what the different fish /crabs bites look like , also what do you strike at ?
If I'm getting loads of each in a session I'll try to; but a lot of the time there isn't sufficient action to justify filming bites and not trying to hit them - would be a lot easier if I had someone else filming!
Wow that some dogfish count , thanks for the post Michael always enjoy, appreciate your efforts Paul
Yes - too many! They don't allow any other fish to get a look in.
Hi Mick ... Normally, I call you the 'sole Man' ... But on this occasion, I will refer to you, as the 'cat shark Man' ... Sounds better than the obvious doggie ... Nevertheless, another interesting and enjoyable video from you ... John.
No thanks John - glad to say vids with soles are on their way! Had a sizeable one from Southbourne recently.
I had same off Kingsdown , about 15 doggies, nothing else. Not even the odd pouting!
Yes - they are a pain at the moment.
Another informative video Mike, thank you.
Thanks for that.
Dover sole rig with weighted snoods ? 2 up clipped down and one below the lead .
I think the doggies would still take your baits!
Dog fish .They used to call it rock- salmon . Once sold in fish & chip shops . Actually not bad .
Large Dogfish, Bull Huss, Spurdog, Smoothhound. Is still all sold as "Rock" in fish and chip shops.
Yes - but I'm not taking any to skin! I'll leave them for others to eat!
