A fishing channel that aims to inform anglers of all abilities about different UK surf fishing locations and catching fish from them.
Watch and maybe learn about a new fishing locality, consider a different approach to a familiar venue, or just be amused by another angler’s style.
RodsAngleUK videos follow a ‘no nonsense' approach, explaining techniques and rigs and revealing all marks fished.
A mixture of in-depth venue coverage, through several sessions to gauge trends / hone tactics ('catch fish at...' series) and short 'day-trip' visits to specific marks. Knowledge gained from these experiences is shared.
UK shore fishing - largely ‘continental’ style.
Hopefully enjoy, find some value in watching and please consider subscribing.
Any comments and suggestions for content, would be really appreciated.
Welcome, and thanks for visiting this channel.

Catch Fish from Cardigan Bay: LLANSANFFRAID
Another in the series of sea fishing in Cardigan Bay (Wales, UK) and a new venue for me - Llansanffraid (Llan-non).
This video covers a single short low water session fished on 16.10.24, targeting bull huss. Some decent sized fish made an appearance; however it was difficult to film due to the rain! Techniques and rigs are dealt with, together with venue details.
There is a detailed RIG TUTORIAL on how to make the PULLEY-PENNEL RIG I favour for rough ground fishing and an UP AND OVER PULLEY variation on this. [NOTE: the time stamp for the tutorial is 6:50].

Great to see what others catch at ynus llas. I only live 45 mins away and hardly ever fish there. I must go soon. Thanks for sharing the video and I've now subscribed, all the best, Matt
You should take your drag off when smoothounds are about
Hi where is ur tackle box/seat from..thanks
Cracking mark there Micheal , dogfish comes in just hanging there waiting to be unhooked , bullhuss comes in and it’s dancing away like crazy ! loved the rig tutorial mate, more of them if you have the time please , so easy to follow, as is all your videos.cheers Paul🎣
true spirit of a uk shore fisherman, great viewing.
Usual high standard of video from you Michael. Sterling effort considering the weather. Nice bit of tutorial as well. I’ve never caught a bull huss but all that I have seen on video seem to be a real handful. I expect a large one could be quite tricky to deal with.
Absolutely awesome. New to the area and finding your channels is a massive bonus.
Great vid Mick, nice to see a bit of classroom stuff going on, keep up the good work and more of the same please 👍.
Great to see another video had wondered if you was ok as couldn’t find anything recently best fishing TH-camr enjoy it so much
great video keep up the good work 👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍👍
Always a pleasure to watch your videos.
Great Video Again.... Shingle Street Suffolk is fishing good at the moment and this time of year no tourists and day trippers want to go near the beach Its a long drive out to the isolated east Suffolk coast but its worth it just for the peace
Loving your videos as always.
Dont understand why you walk in the water to cast out
Nice video especially with the hungry little shark I am a beginner, and I have a question about the COLMIC ARCADIA NX rod I have searched everywhere for its max drag, and I did not find it and I am asking you to tell me if you know because you bought it
Very enjoyable. HAVEN'T BEEN THERE FOR YEARS MUST GIVE A GO SOON.
Good venue - I should have tried there years ago!
There once was a fisherman, Rob, Whose antics were sure to draw sobs. With a wink and a grin, He’d reel in a fin, While dangling his wanger-silly sod!
Hi Mick ... If you had been match fishing ... You probably would have placed, with the number of doggies landed ... But small smoothies and plaice were a nice change in the second session ...
I remember fishing down there when I was about 13 years old . Moved to Scotland shortly afterwards, and havent been back in over 40 years . Always enjoy the great advice and the style of your videos . Tight Lines and thanks again
Thanks for another great video Michael, plenty of action although not from your intended species. That’s fishing for you. In the words of the Rolling Stones “you don’t always get what you want “.
Good stuff.
Awesome again Michael 😊, fished that spot many times in my teens, caught some good fish there, always fished better at night, using sprats. Happy catching from Australia Nick 🇦🇺
Used to be great to fish there , too dangerous now I’m afraid. Good-luck if you try
Why too dangerous?
@@rodsangleuk6283 there are just too many undesirables there now , your not safe in Southend anymore
I could catch schoolies like that all day long
New subscriber, great videos. Do any of your videos cover the outfit you are using. I am looking for more information on your rod. Thanks
Many thanks for that and your sub. At some point I'll go over my gear, but only once I've sorted it out - currently in a big mess and depleted in rigs! The rods are Colmic 07s, which I believe they have stopped making now.
Had a storm blown through before? that beach looked destroyed or is it always like that? Another nice video Michael and good to see you out and about. Thank you.
Not sure, since I'm not a regular there and hadn't fished that part for years. Thanks for watching - maybe a local could enlighten us?
A couple of nice little sessions there Michael. One or two small plaice on the second visit which I know you always like to catch but the appearance of the bream was also a bonus. Those car park charges seemed a bit excessive to me. Until the next outing. Thanks for posting.
Many thanks Chris.
I got locked in there once. I thought they only locked the car park, but it turns out they lock the whole road off at 10. A security guard came and let me out at midnight.. He was a nice chap and didn't charge me.
That's good to know Stuart.
As I live 60 miles north of this location planning a day to the beach is allways a faff especially parking fees. What a rip off 😬
Rolls Drive is unrestricted after 19.00 May-September. You can turn up just after 17.00 as you're allowed 2 hours which will take you into the unrestricted period.
Yes - it's a bit expensive. The other beaches in Southbourne should now be free of holiday makers / sun bathers and there's free parking on the clifftop.
I'd really love to find out were to get live rag/lug worm from
Not sure where you can get it nearby. I travel long distances, so get mine from outside the area. You can dig your own from Southend, if you are keen and fit enough!
@rodsangleuk6283 I'm going to dig, thank you Sir, happy fishing to you
Great going there always good when it goes to plan.
Many thanks for that.
Hi Al seem to be on the hook nearest the lead?
Most do - not sure why. Would expect more flatfish to fall for the bait on the lowest hook; but not bream.
Great camera work ,seeing the bites would be fab and yes P.aice from Eastney were the norm ,but as soon as they show Trawlers were up and down all day some within casting distance great video
Thanks - would like to see plaice make a comeback here!
Hi Mick ... Another very watchable video from you ... I trust that you kept one or two black Bream for the table ... Also nice to see a plaice showing an appearance at the venue ... Keep them coming, John.
Thanks John - I did take 6 of the largest. I prefer bream to bass for the table.
I've noticed that you set up facing into the sun on several videos, for someone with your methodical approach this seems puzzling 🤔
All being equal I prefer to have my rods slightly to the right of me; prefer to have them in to the wind (unless its directly from behind!). Also a lot of my filming is from behind, so I need to avoid the camera casting a shadow in frame.
I think that if you left them rods alone when the fish bite, you'd get a lot more fish hooked. I just don't understand the need of striking on beach casting.
I think I'd miss more bites! No stretch in braid, so fewer fish 'hang' themselves.
Super session rod some nice bream you had.Well done.
Thanks for that.
Fabulous video, some cracking bream. Great camera work. Thank you Mick.
Many thanks.
Hi great channel been watching for a while now. Can I ask, what’s your method of filming your videos, I’m struggling to work it out? Anyway keep up the good work.
Thanks. I just use action cameras and move them about a lot; then do the tracking and zooming during processing and editing.
Nice to see you out again . Tight lines .
Many thanks John.
Hi All Anglers... I am hoping to do a fundraiser next year Fish-A- Thon to raise money for Andover Mind. If anyone is interested please let me know. Entry is £10 and hoping it is a 2 day event. Please find my details and let me know,,, Regards Mick,,,,,,,,,
Hope it goes well.
Great Video - keep them coming!
Thanks, will do!
When u fish eastney where do u get your ragworm from .
Tackle shop in King's Road normally.
Awesome again Mick', plenty of fish 😊 Awesome looking day not like here, wet and cold 😢. Happy catching from Australia Nick 🇦🇺
Thanks again Nick 👍
As always a very entertaining video and a great session. Is the parking along the seafront there by credit card, cash or a phone app?
Thanks. Parking - yes all three! No charge in evening.
nice video and a new subscriber cheers martyn 👍👍
Many thanks for the sub!
@rodsangleuk6283 you are welcome I know how hard it is to get subs
Nice session that last one Michael. A very nice catch of good stamp bream also one of your beloved flatties. Do you think that all the people in the water in the previous visit had an adverse effect on the fishing?.Thanks for the upload Michael, look forward to your next offering.
Thanks Chris. Those splashing about close in just impact your near line bass fishing - they don't really bother me, unless they are right in front of me, or where I'm about to cast to.
Quality video again Michael, that last session you had a blast ! , have you ever thought about popping across on the hovercraft and fishing the north east area of the island? appreciate your efforts as always Paul
On my ever increasing to do list! Thanks again for watching.
@@rodsangleuk6283 would very much look forward to that one.
Also look forward to each an every post you do and love your laid back style, a treat when you post. Thank you, keep up the great work, you are much appreciated.
Thanks for your kind remarks.
Great stuff again. Wish I could catch black bream in Ireland. The way the world is going maybe some day
They do seem to be increasing in numbers on the south coast - just waiting for them to make their way to Southend!
