- Another video from the Shoreham to Lancing area.
Two May daytime sessions (recorded on 16.05.23, and 30.05.23) targeting plaice at Widewater at the western end of Shoreham, West Sussex (UK). This video covers another a mark at Lagoon Carpark West. The first session was fishing the tide up to high water and produced my first black bream; the second was less successful, fished in windier conditions, but the target species did turn up. Rigs and techniques employed are dealt with.

In addition to being well filmed and edited, your videos are always interesting and informative. Plus, they are so relaxing. Thank you. As for parking, "out of order" is, I think, simply a a ploy to phase out "pay with cash" and introduce "pay by card or app" instead. Sooooooo annoying because now, in addition to cash, we have to carry a debit / credit card as well having the correct app (of which I believe there are many) on our phones "just in case". Progress? You can keep it, thanks. Keep smiling and producing excellent video. Cheers. Ken

Hi, Great video!, do you still do any fishing around Southend, I'm new to Basildon and would love to go fishing but not too sure of any good spots, I was in leigh on sea yesterday but didn't see anyone fishing? Could you recommend any nice place close by please?
Haven't fished locally for ages! Soles should be in at Grays Wharf. At Southend - Thorpe Bay for school bass; behind Chalkwell station for better ones when its windy; and Gunners Park for chance of smooth hounds at night.

Just a question, please.
We with my brother are beginners sea fishermans and have issues with dog fish. Can you explain how it is possible to avoid dog fish ?
Fishing space - Dungeness.
In the last sessions, we had 10-15 dog fish per person and nothing else. We are looking for bass.

Try fishing close in with large ragworm baits at low tide when the surf is runnung and aviod chucking out squid / fish baits at distance.
They do that app crap here in the States at the beach I fish at. I don't have a smart phone and I couldn't reach the slot to put money in. Crime don't pay :) btw How did you prepare your Sea Bream?
Just fillet and lightly fry with herbs - better than bass in my opinion. There are quite a few south coast locations I now avoid, or visit far less often due to parking control measures / excessive charges / phone or app only payment etc.
