Congrats getting through making this video without cursing the KARR company and the dealers. When will they learn customers dont want this garbage! I recommend to EVERYONE, if you go to a dealer and they have KARR on the window or anywhere, leave immediately and go to another dealer. My new truck chirps the horn all night telling me the alarm isnt set, then when Im trying to wash my truck with the doors unlocked, it sets the alarm off because the truck is shaking. I hate KARR so so much.

I did the headlight and fog light upgrade several years ago, huge improvement over the stock bulbs. I also did the interior light, I'm no longer in the dark with the light on...

Hello Davin~ Thanks for a very comprehensive video on this topic. I agree that the audio system in the early Z3 models is inferior; maybe the quality improved with the 00+ Z4s? I was most impressed by the holes you cut for the added speakers behind the seats. I recently picked up a '97 Z3. My car already has two speakers in that location (looks like 2.5"-2.75"). I plan to replace all the speakers as well as the media unit (HU). What were the speaker sizes in the doors? Also, would a pin-out schematic or wiring diagram/table of the connector on the rear of the OEM head unit exist? This would be tremendously-helpful info. to source a replacement Plug 'n Play HU. 3+ years on ... Subscribed! Thanks.

It sounds very smooth. i like it. I take off my hat to you but that's an upgrade, I would not ever do. I installed Headman headers to my 1970 El Camino and I was replacing gaskets, monthly. The most stupid upgrade I ever did and since I had thrown away my multiple exhaust, I had to buy another one to never again, have that problem. Y0ur exhaust sounds much better than a muffler delete this guy did to his white Z3.

What if I've connected my lines and opened them up but never turned it on and can't get power to it?

This gonna sound stupid but surely you can just take the cable of the runner so it no longer actuates and that shouldnt cause an error because the cable will still pull when it needs to it just wont actually do anything ?

Baking Soda is the same as Washing Soda. Just slowly 'bake' the the Baking Soda and Voila! Washing Soda. So, skip the Baking Soda because there's literally no point to using both products.

Question: Would there be an problem with just removing the module and splicing the ignition wire back together, but leaving all the sensor leads from the door locks and windows connected? I believe they are all inputs to the module, and with the module jumpered out and powdered off, they should not have impact. Right?

That was smart that you didn't drill a hole through the exterior wall otherwise you would have had to leave the installed unit behind or deal with the liability.

3 years later... Thumbs up Davin. I'm redoing my whole system and was looking for info on accessing tweeters / removing the door panel. FWIW, and for people seeing this in the future... At least with the Harman Kardon system, the stock amp in the trunk has the crossovers. You can purchase component speakers for the footwell / door tweeters either like yours (and have to get the wiring between the door and the footwell) or with a separate crossover that can be installed anywhere. Since I am replacing my factory amp and trying to use all existing wiring, I am buying component speakers with the separate crossover that will just stay in the trunk near the amp and output to [one of] the existing midrange/high speaker wire and existing woofer speakerwire.
