    I understand this is not a current video, but just for reference, the removal process applied to a 2019 Civic as well. Had a failed module, with a crank no start condition after a repossession and new fob programmed. Appreciate your time, editing, and posting of this content.

    Thanks for making the video. I was stranded at a rest stop during a family vacation. My car wouldn't start, the blue LED started to blink, and i didn't notice that before. Car got towed to a nearest dealership and didn't want to troubleshoot it. After your video, i was able to bypass the starter cutoff. Spliced the wires and twisted them together, and my car was able to start. POS KARR system. Thanks.❤❤

    Congrats getting through making this video without cursing the KARR company and the dealers. When will they learn customers dont want this garbage! I recommend to EVERYONE, if you go to a dealer and they have KARR on the window or anywhere, leave immediately and go to another dealer.
    My new truck chirps the horn all night telling me the alarm isnt set, then when Im trying to wash my truck with the doors unlocked, it sets the alarm off because the truck is shaking. I hate KARR so so much.

    Thank you so much! My trail teams alarm acted up in the woods where towing was very difficult. My buddy came out and with the help of this video he saved my rear-end.

    Amazingly detailed video! Thanks! Unpredictable alarm off set is resolved for my 2008 Toyota Highlander which would cost $510 in a dealership, and the neighbors are happy now :)

    Thanks man! This worked for my 2008 FJ Cruiser. There was an extra relay attached to the power wire but it was no problem and was removed also. The power wire was green and had to be butt spliced as you described (yours was orange). This was NOT a YouFlake video (like so many are). Took me less than an hour. Now the horn doesn't sound when I'm locking or unlocking the vehicle. Outstanding!

      Does yours have a little momentary push button on the kick panel? I have a 2008 sienna and the alarm system is not causing any issues aside from tooting the horn when I lock or unlock. Ideally I'd like to keep the alarm but disable the horn toot.

    This thing kills my battery ALL the time on my 2017 Nissan Titan. I want to remove this thing and this is a great video to start, thanks.

    Very helpful video. I didn't know what that button was for, although I assumed some type of alarm, but I was hoping it was factory. This video really helpful in that it: 1) confirmed I have a cheap, aftermarket junk alarm, 2) it was likely added by the dealer, either original sale or subsequent (I'm the 3rd owner) and 3) helped me recognize exactly what parts needed to come out, and the all important splice of the one wire connected in series with the alarm, vs. parallel.
    I don't what the Negative Nancys are bitch'n about, this was super useful. Big "Thank you!".

    What features were they trying to add on by adding this stupid thing? It’s so annoying and it somewhat makes a weird tick noise every once in a while. Awesome video. Thank you.

    • @EEVOL
      @EEVOL 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is exactly what kills my battery on my truck all the time. Sometimes the ticking noise comes on randomly, even when I'm not on the truck and it kills my battery if I don't do something about it (usually unlock and lock the car to stop it).

    Thanks again for this super helpful video. Question: Would there be an problem with just removing the module and splicing the ignition wire back together, but leaving all the sensor leads from the door locks and windows connected? I believe they are all inputs to the module, and with the module jumpered out and powdered off, they should not have impact. Right?

  • @joepitre4773

    Soldier and shrink wrap for the disconnected wire is my only recommendation.

    Davin thank you for the video I'm curious what brand was that that you took off was it a car device or which one was it as far as those two orange wires I would have thought of them I don't like using a wireless connectors because that is high voltage and that is when your car starts you don't want to be stuck
    In the middle of nowhere if you do take your FJ off road like I take my Grand Cherokee off road .

  • @davidthompson9359
    @davidthompson9359 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for your great video. How would you approach this issue when trying to buy a car brand new? I turned down a purchase tonight and one of the reasons was they pre-installed a KARR alarm system, couldn't tell me why it cost a $1000 (meaning features, one or two way and any other information. They just said it's installed.
    You said they disable the car alarm system that comes from the factory, how good is that system compared to Karr. I guess the fact that I can find "very little" when I Google Karr tells me what I need to know.
    How do you find out about the car alarm system that is built in.
    One other question is how are they supposed to install it if they don't splice? I'll have to go to my local car alarm and audio system installer to find out how they do it.

    • @davinsrandom3142
      @davinsrandom3142  ปีที่แล้ว

      Dealerships do this so they can lock and unlock the cars remotely and it also makes repos easier. The Karr system overrides the factory alarm but it isn't any better. Just like in my video they use quick splice connectors. Only the main power wire gets spliced and its an easy fix. Definitely don't let them charge you for an added alarm. Tell them to either take it out or off the invoice and remove it yourself.

    • @davinsrandom3142

      If a car has remote key locking then it has a factory alarm.

    • @davinsrandom3142
      @davinsrandom3142  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It should be the same for most cars. You can take the seat out. Just disconnect the battery first, and there are a few electrical plugs under the seat that should be disconnected.

    I wouldn’t have taken it out blue alarm is installed because ur vehicle has no factory alarm also Orange wires are starter wires looped in the brain of the alarm Into a relay when alarm is triggered it will not start

    *This is a worthless video except for one thing, if this guy can remove his alarm, we can too!*
    the only useable details are what the module looks like, most of the wires are just taps, and that the ignition wire is cut and needs to be reconnected.
    Freeze this @ 10:45 and enlarge it is all you need

    • @richardmarshall6751
      @richardmarshall6751 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hardly "worthless". Confirmed the work I need to do to remove mine, including helped me recognize the bad parts. With most DIY projects, like removing a non-factory POS alarm, the value of the YT video is in giving the viewer confidence that what they are already thinking is correct. Yes, you summarized the actions, but it was nice to see someone perform what I'm going to have to replicate.
