I subscribed because I have a 2000 Roadster 2.8 5 speed with 99k miles. I purchased the car wit 87k and have been up grading and replacing worn parts for the past 4 years. Suspension components, audio system, tires twice, interior leather, filters, fluids ect. Excited to follow this project and see how it goes.
I'm not sure about the 2.8, but I have the 3.0 and although the engine is aluminum, it has cast iron cylinder sleeves. My research on the m54 told me that those blocks { not the pistons because the pistons are cast even though they have forged rods and crank), can handle up to 700 bhp.
@@davinsrandom3142 indeed, he's probably on e85 if he didn't change the pistons. I'm going with a ECS Supercharger, and will probably tune to around 540 hp crank, or 480 hp wheel on E50 (half 93 and half e85) after I get bigger fuel pump, bigger injectors , high flow fuel rail, ARP head studs, and upgraded radiator of course.

Yep. There is a 25 psi 2.8z3 running a 9.5 quarter mile. terrifying!

I subscribed cause I wanna emulate what you're going to do.. I have a 2001 2.5 z3.. One question is it CALIFORNIA legal and will it pass smog...
It will until I put the headers on it. That will require the air pump to be disabled but other than that it should be fine.
