Very sound advice. Just to add, you can use NI pounds in the rest of the UK. NI pounds are sterling pounds and are legal tender in England, Scotland and Wales. People from the northern parts of Ireland (Ulster) can pronounce 'th' properly and words like 'many', 'any' (instead of 'manny', 'anny' and 'pattren' instead of 'pattern' etc). Be careful of Irish 'banter', especially in pubs where drink is involved.

We had a wonderful time in Ireland. On tipping your bus driver: at the end of a day-long bus trip my husband tipped the driver as we were disembarking. But he wasn’t paying attention and simply emptied his pockets of his euro coins. He tipped the man about 50 euro. It was a great day, yes and the driver was massively appreciative…but as a traveling person maybe pay attention to the currency 🤪 I’m sure that driver has a great laugh recounting the dumb American who tipped him like a lotto winner.

All of this is much the same for Scotland too. Even the weather! In terms of language, we have the opposite. Englush people pronounce Loch as Lock. They can't say the ch sound. I should say that being of an Irish family we use "sorry" the same way. Which my wife still doesnt get 100%. In Scotland we say "yon man" which is the same as "yer man". I think its because a third of us in Scotland are of Irish descent and Scottish Gaelic was developed from Irish.

We went to Ireland and Northen Ireland on a group tour with a Danish travel agency last year. Due to many hotels being occupied by Ukrainian refugees and a poor planning from the travel agency, we missed out on a lot of "own time" in Belfast and Galway. We will definitely be back on our own in a rental car next time, because there is so much to see other than the big attractions. Speaking of big attractions: I´m sorry but we found that The cliffs of Moher is a tourist trap and not such a special natural phenomenon. It´s just a coastline with steep cliffs... sorry. That said, we will definitly be back. Both Ireland and Northen Ireland has so many historic sites worth a visit.

Wow! thank you for the info it is much appreciated. My Wife, Daughter and I plan to visit Dublin for the 1st time in July this year from Canada. I will of course watch your other videos. I do have a couple questions; are there any grocery stores with deli`s around the city centre? I understand Dublin can be expensive so are there specific places we can go for lunch and dinner on a budget? our hotel is situated south of the city centre facing a canal, so walking to the attractions may take a while. I figure we could purchase a couple bottles of water and sandwiches and snack on them at some of Dublin`s many parks throughout the day instead of visiting a restaurant or pub. We will of course visit some pubs, but away from the touristy areas. Thanks again :)

Ireland is expensive, so be aware of that. Well, the south I mean. If you hire a car, especially Dublin airport, check the contract carefully. And get the price! The guy told me very casually, that a Nissan Micra was crap, and that HE was going to upgrade me. Gave me a VW Golf, then charged me for it. When I visit my cousins in Waterford, I love the fact that there are no plans made. It is like they are psychic. They move like a shoal, and you just go along with it. And have the best day. 😂

Hello. THANK YOU! I have learned so much in two categories here. While I have a minimum amount of Irish heritage, it seems to have had a large influence on my family. The should and should nots with traits, manners and communications is how I was raised. I can assume as my g-parents and parents were raised in Catholic 'Burroughs' with significant full Irish heritage. The second point is the way to handle physical aspects of being in Ireland such as rental car and road side walking (I was raised not to walk in the middle but not which side,) I would not ask anyone to demonstrate the language in such a way as tirty however. I was raised with the term Irish Brogue. Is it acceptable to compliment an Irish persons brogue? I think it is beautiful? And from what I can tell different Counties may have Brogues that to an untrained ear one may understand one and not the other even if they both state the same sentence. I truly appreciate your thoughts and guidance on this. For the record I am 1/32 Irish however am named after the song Danny Boy.

Just been checking out the price of a Seat reservation from London to Paris Even With an interail pass …… €32 😳 Wow that’s not a great deal less than the regular price of £56 ……and obviously £56 is Only if ya book in Advance, 2 months Etc. I wonder how much the screw ya for seat reservations in France, Spain Etc because if prices are around €20 or €30 Etc, it can bump prices up. Especially on ya pass depending on how long it’s for could easily cost ya around £450 ……depending on how long it’s for …….I was thinking around 22 days over 2 months. Love your accent Miss Ireland 😀👍
