Hi Laura, we are traveling to traveling from the US to your side of the world. London, Scotland, and Ireland. It's two adults and 9 years old lass. We would lone to pick your brain on an itinerary. Love if you can reach out. Love your video. Steven
My husband and I came on holiday to Ireland in 2001. We travelled around for about a month and decided that we wanted to come and stay here. Eventually we moved here from South Africa in 2018. We love Ireland and the Irish people. They go out of their way for you and are very friendly. My husband's great grandfather is from Ireland. Thank you Ireland for welcoming us.
My great great grandpa came to Canada from Ireland in 1832, established himself in Ontario. The house he built there is still standing and inhabited (street is named after him). My biggest hope is to visit his homeland, see where he grew up and get a real sense of the country. When I’m asked of my heritage,Irish always comes before Canadian, but proud to acknowledge both.
I'll never understand why Vinegar Hill is never mentioned on videos like this, it's such a historical site. It's one of the most beautiful places in Ireland, once you know where you're standing you'll understand why it's so special.
You should definitely make more videos - you have a very pleasant nature , and that really comes across. And you are a great ambassador for Ireland. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
My wife and I just returned from Ireland on a pilgrimage of visiting old friends and tracking down some family along the way. We spent 2 weeks visiting many places along the way starting in Dublin and visiting fantastic locations like Aherlow to visit some friends. Then on to Abbyfeale for another visit with another old friend. We then moved on to Dingle (Loved it) and we explored many of the places you showed in this video. From there we went up to Doolin with a stop for lunch in Listowel with our friend from Abbeyfeale. We were hoping for the Cliffs of Moher but it was wet and stormy but had a great time with a great dinner at Fiddle & Bow and some great Irish music at the local pubs. From Doolin we traveled up to Gallway to again see some more old friends of ours and again had a really great visit and spent some time walking this fantastic city. We then traveled into Clifden where we stayed at a B&B and really enjoyed our host at the Shanakeever Farm - Bed & breakfast. From Clifden our goal was to find my wifes 2nd cousin in Cloghbrack. On the way we stopped in and walked the amazing Kylemore Abby and then onto Leenaun and veered off onto the R336. From there my wife had me turn at the L1301 into the highlands towards Loch Na Fooey. I literally asked her "What have you got me into this time", it was so off the beaten path but I'm so glad we did. What a beautiful drive that was with vistas at every turn and a truly amazing drive. Our destination was Clonbur where my wife last met her 2nd cousin from Cloghbrack some 38 years earlier on a trip with her parents. She showed me the hotel they stayed at and the pub across the street from all those years ago. Now my wife had no contact information for her cousin but from a tip from a local we went into the pub and asked the woman behind the bar if they knew her cousin or if any of the family were still in the area and amazingly she did know of them. My wife asked for directions to their house but she said "have a seat and I'll call him". She came back 5 minutes later said "John will be here in 10 minutes". Can you believe that!? I was speechless. Well in 10 minutes John walked in and we had an amazing visit with him and my wife was ecstatic and so happy. We went onto Gong and stayed the night there. On a tip from our host in Cong he said the only way to see Ashford Castle was to either book a room, book dinner or walk in after hours as the castle is now a privet hotel and not open to the general public. We walked in that night (Amazing!) and the next day had tea at the tea house and walked the outside areas. If anyone goes just tell the guard at the gate that your going in for tea. He actually was quite nice and said...several times before I got the point - "Your going in for tea right?" and he let us pass. After some tea and a walk we drove all the way back across the country to Maynooth just outside Dublin and spent our last night in Ireland at the Glenroyal Hotel (we highly recommend this hotel and absolutely book a dinner reservation in their restaurant). We flew off to London the next day and spent the next 3 days in Wales with our good friend from home and her family. I can't say enough about this great country and next time I will be visiting my ancestral home up in Donegal.
That sounds lovely! I've never been to Ireland but grew up with my grandmother and my Irish grandfather. He came to Canada in the 40's. I am planning a trip in a year or two - and Donegal (Newtown Cunningham) was his childhood home, but we will be seeing many places while there, doing a bit of 'round the coasts', but now that I've watched this video there are some other stops I want to make. I feel like this will need to be a repeated visit
Just a quick shoutout to @Live.Adventure.Travel, my wife and I visited Ireland from the US for the first time last year (2023). This video really helped steer us towards staying in Doolin for a week to soak in some Irish culture. We absolutely LOVED our stay and your suggestion about visiting in Sept/Oct was spot on, minimal crowds and amazing weather. Cliffs of Moher were breathtakingly beautiful and worth the time. Music in the pubs was every night, usually starting around 8:30pm and it was in every pub so we didn't really need to worry about reserving a table at a specific venue. I really appreciate you taking the time to post this vid. Thanks again, info like this really helps those who love to travel! We CANNOT wait to come back to Ireland! :)
Just back from a family trip to Ireland - 17 days self planned, self driving. We went to both the Republic and Northern Ireland. I am so glad I found your videos before the trip as they were a HUGE help in planning. Thank you very much for the videos you do!
My husband and I are heading to Ireland with friends and family this September from Canada. Your videos are so interesting and informative. Thank you very much for making them and sharing. We are so looking forward to visiting your country.
Donegal is the most stunning county in Ireland without question and it’s so often missed. I’ve been all over Ireland and this county has the best beaches in all of Ireland and the people are the best. I’m from London so not biased 😊
Great video. Thank you. I would like to suggest two topics for additional videos. 1. Getting around Ireland on buses. I have been to Ireland seven times and am going again this summer. Rental cars are soooo expensive and I'm too old and too nervous to drive on Irish roads, so I take the bus which I find very comfortable. But it would be great to see a video about places that are easily accessible by bus and which require less than a mile's walk from the bus stop. Also info about planning bus trips in advance (online routes, schedules). Also BusEireann vs. Go Bus vs. Local buses, etc. Bus etiquette. How and where to buy your ticket, etc. 2. A video on learning the Irish language by studying in a Gaeltacht would be helpful to those of us who are learning Irish online in America. Discuss various Gaeltacht areas and the Irish language schools (for adults) that exist there. If you've already done these videos, please let me know. Go raibh maith agat. (I'm practicing my Irish. 🙂)
Nothing can compare with the Connemara coast, Gazing out in silence with the one you love the most, The beauty of this place and the echoes deep inside, Make me think we're only just a moment in time Chris DeBurgh
I'd have to add Skerries in North County Dublin. Kilometre long, white, sandy beach, wind mills, Mortello towers, Argillan castle, views of the Mourne mountains, sea tours around Rockabill lighthouse and the only West facing harbour on the East coast which is lined with restaurants and pubs. Sit outside, enjoy some food and drink then watch the best sunsets on the East coast. A 15 minute train ride to Malahide castle and only 40 minutes to Dublin by train.
If you want a guided walk of the Cliffs of Moher local farmer Patrick Sweeney offers them starting in Doolin While your're visiting the burren, the pulnabrone dolmen is in the area and is only busy when the tour buses show up We paid for a tour of Gap of Dunloe that picks you up in downtown Killarney and drops you at Kate Kearney's Cottage. From there you ride a jaunting car thru the GoD to Lord Brandons Lodge for lunch. After lunch a boat ride across upper lake Killarney, under the old weir and brickeen bridges, and across Lough Leane brings you to Ross Castle where the return bus is waiting for you. What a delightful day Thanks Laura for all other other great ideas for our next visit
Great video. Have been to nearly all these places having taken the ferry to Dublin, went down to Waterford via Kilkenny, then across to County Kerry, and then so the way up to County Donegal mostly along the Wild Atlantic Way. So I was ticking off all the places you recommended, the Copper Coast (which was really just luck going from Waterford to Cobh and choosing a scenic route), Mizen Head, Killarney National Park, the Ring of Kerry, the Burren (didn't stop at the Cliffs of Moher but passed by because the weather was atrocious when we were there, you wouldn't have seen a thing), Connamara, Doolough Valley, Achill Island, Slieve League, and Errigal Mountain (didn't do as much walking as in your video, but did a fair bit) . Only a few places missed, like Baltimore Lighthouse, Dursey Ireland, the caves in County Sligo, the Rock of Cashel, and the Wicklow Mountains, and the Giant's Causeway (have done the last three before and can't do everything). A few places I've been in surprised weren't on your list were the Dingle Peninsula, the Mountains of Mourne, and of course Newgrange, which even if you don't pay to go and see the actual monument the landscape around it is enchanting and a bit like the area around Stonehenge (in a different way of course). And as well, I'm not sure if it's on the Causeway Coast but it's not far away if it isn't, there is the Gobbins cliffside walk, which is amazing (if you've not done this, you have to, I've not done anything like it). There are so many other places as well I'm sure I've forgotten about, it is such an amazing country and the people are very welcoming and you always have a good craic.
Wow you went on an amazing trip 😍 So all the spots you mentioned where on the original list but it was sooooooo long. Over 50 please so I narrowed it down. Dingle Area was still on it but the camera starting doing a weird glitch so I edited that part out 😔 I’m will probs make another video mentioning more spots
@@Live.Adventure.Travel I'll let you off then!!! 😉 The view from the, what I believe is the highest pass in Ireland above the town of Dingle is spectacular. And you are so right about the Ring of Skellig, part of the Ring of Kerry. There is a viewpoint called the Kerry Cliffs not far from Portmagee that looks out over the Skelligs (surely a must see the any Star Wars fan) that is spectacular as well and not to be missed (and much cheaper than the Cliffs of Moher), and a beautiful beach and bay at Ballinskelligs as well (and the Staigue Stone Fort as well, which is still worth exploring). I look forward to your best video with I'm sure even more beautiful locations.
Laura we just found you and so glad we did!!! We are traveling to Ireland at the end of May-June. My ancestors are Irish and can not wait to visit!!! You’re selling this well, I’m already thinking we either need to extend our trip by a week or two or plan another trip next year 😂
This is a legit good list. I would add areas around Dingle also. Impressed that places in Sligo, Tipperary, and Wicklow are mentioned because they are more off the beaten path.
The castle in the background in the introductory photo (which she seems to be balancing on her fist) has an interesting history. It is Doonagore Castle in Doolin. It can also be seen at 1:06 . In September 1588 a ship from the Spanish Armada was driven ashore in a storm and broke up just below the castle. 170 Spanish sailors survived but they were captured by British forces from Limerick. All 170 of the Spanish survivors were hanged in the grounds of the castle. Brutal times.
Thank you so much for this video. I love the views. It all looks so beautiful.I really want to visit Ireland but you might not be able to get rid of me. I have been thinking about a vacation out there to really see where my roots are from. I think with this video you have made up my mind Again thank you so much.
Thank you sweetheart that’s a grand video. We are planning a trip to Ireland next year. And these videos are very helpful. We’re hoping for at least 10 days so I’m gonna break it down Lake County by County and just explore. I definitely want to stay along the coast and some B&Bs and then likespend four or five nights in a castle. I just think that would be amazing and your videos are great thank you so much.
Yes, Dave. Cliffs of Moher much overrated. In fact you will find footage of the cliffs (drones etc.) give you a wonderful experience. No need to go there.
And... Don't forget Donegal! is a gem of the northwest, and the Gaeltacht! Also, I see your Yellowstone Jumper, Grand, but keep going West when you visit America, to ( drumroll) Bend Oregon and Central Oregon. We need more Irish here!
HI, I just arrived 2 months ago in Ireland, to be more exact in Dulbin. I'm fall in love with the cowntry. And I love your videos. I could hear you all day long.😍 Thank you very much. The bests for you 😍
thank you so much for this amazing video, me and my wife are moving there soon and we want to spend some time exploring the country... this video helped a lot thanks
Thank you, so much! Ireland has been on my "Bucket List" since childhood. Hope to get there, someday--this vid is inspiring me to set a goal date! Thanks, again and look forward to watching more of your adventures.
Thank you so much for your advice, it's so useful! I haven't seen other videos about Ireland like yours, it's awesome. I would love to do Spanish subtitles for it so more people can know about your advice. If that's something you'd be interested in, please let me know! Love from Argentina 🤗
So let me get this straight. I get from what you said that there is no bathrooms anywhere; not a place for an old guy like me. The one cliff walk you said was 3 hours in, but you couldn't use their bathrooms. Wow, can't wait to go to Ireland.
I LOVE your videos! Your enthusiasm for your gorgeous country is inspiring. I had to laugh a little regarding your Yellowstone National Park sweatshirt! If you ever get back to the states and you haven’t been there, you HAVE to visit Yosemite National Park! I highly recommend Housekeeping Camp as you get the best of both worlds; Beds, electricity, but your in a sheltered room. Please keep these videos coming. Blessings to you!
Great tips, love your channel. What I am confused about is when you are driving in the country/rural parts of Ireland and say you find a nice cliff face, or landmark, castle/spot you want to explore out on foot to get a better look upclose - where do you park exactly? I have been searching google maps, online, & forums and I have no idea where you park. Unless there is a small side bank to quickly park to the side, where do you go exactly to park your car? Especially if there is no traditional parking lot around and it is just a narrow country road or grass/private farmland or seaside.
I've been to many of these places on my two trips to Ireland. Tipperary is one of my favorites. My great grandfather came from near Fethard. Cashel is mythical. Can't wait to go again.
Thank you for sharing so many favorites that are active, walking/hiking, scenic stops. It's great to hear an insiders perspective and advice that may not all be in the typical guide books.
The parking near Hag’s Head was a great tip. Following the Cliffs of Moher Coastal Walk sign from Liscannor takes you there. The paths have also been overhauled and are in much better shape than the trampled trails 20 years ago (or the officially closed ones that people would still walk along about 15 yrs ago.) But *ahem* somebody seems to be telling people about a shuttle to take tourist back to the visitor‘s centre from Hag’s Head … I don’t think that’s a thing. (I sense a business idea for moving to Ireland, though … Tuk-Tuk shuttle services, anybody? Just 10 € per person.)
We spent a lovely week in the Village of Bruff in 2018 because it was half way between Cork and Limerick. We found a treasure, Lough Gurr. Stunning. We arrived as strangers and have a whole village of new friends.
I went to school in Ireland in the late 70s. I traveled though out the Republic with my Professors. The family I lived with was headed by Dervla Henry, a teacher of Irish and, in the summer, Ireland's best tour guide. I was very lucky. I was able to travel independently with my Father while I was in school, instructed by my Irish Mom on the itinerary. I've been back a few times since. I love your sugesstions.
Visited the Cliffs of Moher in 1992. No visitor centre. There was just my friends and myself there. Gorgeous. Visited Newgrange a year later. The visitor centre was a little hut at the bottom of the field that the tomb stands in. I think I visited these places at the best time.
Near Doolin there is "Hells Kitchen" at the seaside. A cut in the rocks at the beach, 300 yards away from the sea, where you can see and hear the roaring sea...
Your vide is very helpful. They could be even better if you can show the approximate location of the recommended attraction on an Ireland map to give us an idea which part of Ireland they are located.
nothing like looking through old videos. I just did a video on Places in Sligo. Congrats on your channel success. I remember when i started watching your videos back when you were 1400 subscribers.
Couldn’t agree more about looking over old videos! So many wonderful memories 💛 Thanks so much for sticking around. I’m so happy the videos are helping people plan their trips 🥰

Love your videos. Do you have a car free video? I'm coming in June and would love to meet you if possible.
It's so much better to have a local give recommendations than the Americans who have visited once.

Waterford is class. Incredibly underrated. Tonnes to see in the city and county.
We have such a beautiful country.
Beautiful places in Ireland...a fan from the Philippines.
I never "like AND subscribe" but I just did. So many places I missed. I paused about a dozen times to go to maps and mark for future visits.

Rock of Cashel Is my favorite. I visit it every time I go to Ireland
Going on a solo trip to Ireland at the end of May, and watching your videos have been invaluable. Very well done. Thanks, Laura!
You missed the Gap of Dunloe, a stone throw drive away from Killarney Nal Park, absolutely stunning!

Great tips even viewing as a local, never thought to visit Tipp but defo on the list. Great clips and video overall!!
Can't wait to go back. Has to be the most beautiful country on earth.
Thank you very much for making them and sharing.

This is a legit good list. I would add areas around Dingle also. Impressed that places in Sligo, Tipperary, and Wicklow are mentioned because they are more off the beaten path.
That's a lovely picture of it Laura
Thank you for the great recommendations, Laura! I’m glad I found your video before my trip to Ireland; I’ll be much better informed and prepared 🙌.
I love Ireland
The castle in the background in the introductory photo (which she seems to be balancing on her fist) has an interesting history. It is Doonagore Castle in Doolin. It can also be seen at 1:06 . In September 1588 a ship from the Spanish Armada was driven ashore in a storm and broke up just below the castle. 170 Spanish sailors survived but they were captured by British forces from Limerick. All 170 of the Spanish survivors were hanged in the grounds of the castle. Brutal times.
Wow beautiful sceneries would visit someday
Thanks again, Laura x See you next time 👋
Stayed in Dulin. The cliffs were beautiful.
Thank you. My husband and I coming for three weeks and staying at most of the places you mentioned.
Thank you so much for this video. I love the views. It all looks so beautiful.I really want to visit Ireland but you might not be able to get rid of me. I have been thinking about a vacation out there to really see where my roots are from. I think with this video you have made up my mind
Again thank you so much.
Planning to visit Ireland with baby next summer! :)
This was priceless!
Oh yay! Hope you have the best time. And thank you 💛
Thank you sweetheart that’s a grand video.
Kerry Cliffs, Croghaun on Achill and Slieve League in Donegal to me rank above Cliffs of Moher
Yes, Dave. Cliffs of Moher much overrated. In fact you will find footage of the cliffs (drones etc.) give you a wonderful experience. No need to go there.
We loved your tips! We are coming for 3 weeks in September and October. Thank you!!😊
So beautiful place
The bests for you 😍
Thanks! My daughter and I are visiting Ireland and focusing on the northern half. I added several of your recommendations to our TODO list.
thank you so much for this amazing video, me and my wife are moving there soon and we want to spend some time exploring the country... this video helped a lot thanks
Thanks you very much
Awesome journey
Thank you, so much! Ireland has been on my "Bucket List" since childhood. Hope to get there, someday--this vid is inspiring me to set a goal date! Thanks, again and look forward to watching more of your adventures.
Awww hope you get to come at some stay! Glad the video was helpful for inspiration 💛
Awesome video
Still haven’t been to Ireland , looks epic !
Really enjoyed this, thank you! I'd find the place names appearing on the screen helpful as I don't always catch the names.
Thank you so much for your advice, it's so useful! I haven't seen other videos about Ireland like yours, it's awesome. I would love to do Spanish subtitles for it so more people can know about your advice. If that's something you'd be interested in, please let me know! Love from Argentina 🤗
Love your channel Laura❤
So let me get this straight. I get from what you said that there is no bathrooms anywhere; not a place for an old guy like me. The one cliff walk you said was 3 hours in, but you couldn't use their bathrooms. Wow, can't wait to go to Ireland.
Great video, thanks

Great video 😍 Beautiful Ireland ! Must see more places 🌳⛰️🌲🍄☘️
I wish one day I will go there for holidays
I LOVE your videos! Your enthusiasm for your gorgeous country is inspiring. I had to laugh a little regarding your Yellowstone National Park sweatshirt! If you ever get back to the states and you haven’t been there, you HAVE to visit Yosemite National Park! I highly recommend Housekeeping Camp as you get the best of both worlds; Beds, electricity, but your in a sheltered room. Please keep these videos coming. Blessings to you!
One of our initial stops was the Poisoned Glen, just south of Errigal. Due to time constraints, we deleted this one.
Thank you for your videos. So helpful!!!
Thank you for sharing so many favorites that are active, walking/hiking, scenic stops. It's great to hear an insiders perspective and advice that may not all be in the typical guide books.
❤Thank you very much for all the tips.❤
Thanks so much the info
Nice video
Stunning. We arrived as strangers and have a whole village of new friends.
great content to be sure Thank You
I went to school in Ireland in the late 70s.
Awesome video and I’m visiting Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland this spring or early summer of this year.
Near Doolin there is "Hells Kitchen" at the seaside. A cut in the rocks at the beach, 300 yards away from the sea, where you can see and hear the roaring sea...
Nice video!!
Top tip: Giants Causeway is free! The charge is for the visitor centre which is overpriced and totally worth skipping.
Visited in 2018 and returning next week. It's a long way to Tipperary.
Ireland girl are really beautiful,,,im watching from philipines
very nice
New subscribers here. We love hidden gems, local tips and insider views. Love your video and your info is spot on!!
Great List Laura!
Thank you 😊
Your vide is very helpful. They could be even better if you can show the approximate location of the recommended attraction on an Ireland map to give us an idea which part of Ireland they are located.
Visiting Ireland in May from the U.S., and watching your videos have been invaluable. Very well done. Thanks!
nothing like looking through old videos.
